A/N: Hey everyone, I know I said, the updates would probably be slow. But I'm going to try, to get this chapter rolling, as best I can. There will still be some plot twists, that even I myself won't know about, until they arrive.
I will be making some chapters, that deviate from both shows; just to give it a flare of originality. There is also, a feature from the comics, that I may or may not, or may, be including.
So, what are we waiting for? Let's "ZOOM THE COSMOS!"
Silver Hills
The Quantasaurus continued to wreck the city. "Guys, there's something wrong. I can't stop It. The Q-Rex is out of control." Jack said to the Rangers, with panic in his voice. The Rangers just watched, as it caused more havoc throughout the city. They took a few more looks, before either of them decided to speak.
The Green Ranger spoke first with. "We need help!"
Then Wes approached Jack. He put a hand of reassurance on his shoulder; before he started to speak. "Jack, don't worry about it! You did your best. But now it's time for us, to do our part." Wes felt like he had to say that. Because he could just tell, that Jack was feeling bad about not being able to do the one thing, he promised to do. "Circuit, we need the Megazord!" Wes chanted into his morpher. Not long after that, Circuit received his request.
"You got it. Time Force Megazord, online!" Circuit said. The time flyers then came through the time vortex, arriving in the present. After the Rangers justed inside; the Time Flyers formed Time Force Megazord, (Mode Red). The megazord did battle with the Q-Rex; but it was so tough. The Megazord was hit hard; causing Wes to tell his friends to hold on. Meanwhile, on the ground; Jack and his friends watch as the Rangers took a beating form the Quantasaurus Rex. All Jack could do, was blame himself; since he knew there was nothing he could do, to help them. That's when Jack, finally decided to voice his concerns, to his friends.
"Guys, this is all my fault! If I had been better at this whole "Ranger-Thing"; then they wouldn't be getting hurt right now." But Arcee wasn't having any of this self-pity, from Jack.
"That's enough, Jack! This isn't your fault. You didn't know any of this, was going to happen. The other Rangers are in trouble; and they need your help, right now!" Arcee said to him; trying to get him out of his doubt.
"Arcee, do you really think I can help them. After everything that's happened?" He asked her.
"Of course I do, Jack. You're my partner, after all. But you've become so much more then that. You're a Power Ranger now, Jack. You can do anything!" Arcee spoke to him, in a sincere voice. Arcee wasn't alone with that feeling. Raf and Miko felt the exact same way; as they began to give Jack their support too.
"She's right, Jack. Even before you knew about the Q-Rex; you still managed to defeat a mutant single-handedly." Raf said.
"And besides, dude; the Power Rangers trusted you this far. And that mutant stole that robo-dinosaur from you. You gotta take it back; and save them!" Miko stated to Jack. Jack felt surprised to see, that even though he felt as if he screwed up; they still believed in him. It really warmed his heart. So Jack decided to stop feeling sorry for himself; and do something about this situation, that they now found themselves in.
"You're right. Let's get to action!" Jack declared. He then looked to Miko; and began chanting orders. "Miko, go get Bulkhead. Tell him to heat up his toughest guns; and to be ready to help the Rangers!" He then looked to Raf. "Raf, you and Bumblebee are on evac duty. Normally, I'd like to not risk our secret. But if you guys can get people to safety, discreetly. Then do it!" Finally, he set his sights on Arcee. "Arcee, you're with me. We're going to give the Rangers cover-fire. Even if that means blasting the Q-Rex!" Jack stated the last part, unholstering his Quantum Defender. Arcee smiled. She likes seeing Jack have his confidence back.
"Roger that!" Miko said, giving him a salute; before she ran to call Bulkhead.
"You got it!" Raf spoke, as he and Bumblebee ran off to help people.
Soon enough, Jack & Arcee began shooting at the Quantasaurus. They were trying to help the Rangers out. But it seemed to be doing, next to nothing against him. Even when Bulkhead arrived; his blaster power didn't seem to do much either. They all had to admit; this robo-dino, sure was tough.
Meanwhile, in the future; a mysterious figure, sent the Time-Shadow to help the Rangers. "The Time-Shadow!" Trip said with excitement. As it arrived in the present, to aid them.
"Perfect timing! With both of us, I think we'll have enough power to beat that." Jen said. Both Megazords prepared to do battle with the Q-Rex. Jack and Arcee stopped in their tracks, to gaze upon the Time-Shadow.
"Whoa, Arcee. What's that?" Jack asked, while dismounting Arcee's vehicle form, so she could transform. Arcee took one look at it; and one thought came to mind.
"Jack, I think it's here to help destroy the Quantasaurus Rex." She responded. Both Megazords fought with everything they had; and for a bit, they were winning. They even managed to wound the Q-Rex. They continued to press on with their assault. But at the last minute, the Quantasaurus got the upper-hand. It blasting them so hard, they de-morphed; and fell out of their Megazord.
While the Rangers were wondering where the Quantasaurus went; Commandocon was ranting on about how this was just round one. He said that he'd be back for The knockout. The Q-Rex retreated to its lair. It laid down on the ground; as it prepared to heal from its injuries.
Bio-Lab
Eric was having a conversation with Mr. Collins. "Once I get the Quantum Morpher, and become the Quantum Ranger; there will be no one better suited, to lead the Silver Guardians." Eric said to him. But Mr. Collins didn't seem that convinced. He decided to voice his own opinion on the matter.
"I agree with you, that the Silver Guardians should be led by a Ranger. But not necessarily the Quantum Ranger, or you. Even if you get the morpher. Now, don't get me wrong; I do plan on asking the Quantum Ranger, to join us. But I plan to have four more Time Force Rangers, on my team. Rangers that control megazords." Mr. Collins proclaimed. Eric was disappointed to hear him say that. He began to take his leave. But stopped at the last minute; to ask him an important question.
"And what if I get control of the Quantasaurus Rex; after I get the morpher?" He asked Mr. Collins; who gave it some serious thought. He told Eric that, that would be impressive.
Clock Tower
Circuit was briefing the Rangers; as well as Jack, and his friends, on the Q-Rex's condition. "Although the Q-Rex is injured; it only needs a short time to heal its wounds. It's Powers will be completely restored in just 2 hours. Jack, you've got to get control of it, real soon!" Circuit said to Jack. Jack took in everything Circuit just said; and responded with the only words that came to mind.
"I understand." He responded. But while taking in all this new information; Raf ask Jack, a really important question.
"Jack, don't you think by now, it's about time we got Optimus, and the rest of Team Prime involved? I mean, if this Ransik guy, gets the Q-Rex. Then everyone could be in trouble; not just the people in Silver Hills."
Jack let out a sigh, before he spoke. "You're right, Raf. This is bigger than just us. So let's give Team Prime a call!" By now, Jack and his friends, had told the Rangers about Team Prime, and Cybertronians. But even though they already knew about them; they couldn't let their new friends know that. So they only pretended to be surprised, when they told them. Jack exited the building; and approached Arcee's vehicle form, with Wes by his side.
But suddenly, Eric drove up, in a black SUV; wanting to continue with where they left off. He told Jack, for what felt like the dozenth time; that he wanted the morpher from him. Since Jack knew there was no getting out of this; he asked Eric to take this somewhere a little more private, to which he agreed. But of course, Wes insisted on coming with them. Jack, had no objections to this. A little while later, they stopped at an empty Warehouse district, to talk. Jack dismounted his motorcycle; while setting up the kickstand, and taking off his helmet. Eric asked why he chose that place, of all places to talk.
Then Arcee transformed, and joined the conversation. "Because last time, we didn't get a chance to talk." Eric became uneasy, and stumbled back a bit. He had almost forgotten about her; (almost), being the operative word.
"You know, I almost forgot about you. So what are you anyway? Some kind of new Ranger tech?" He asked her.
"That's none of your business!" She told him
"And besides that, it's not important!" Said Jack. "What is important, Eric; is that I'm telling you this, for the last time. The morpher doesn't belong to you. It doesn't even belong to me. And I promised to give it back; once I get control of the Quantasaurus Rex." Unfortunately, almost everything Jack said to him; seem to fall on deaf ears. Eric just wanted the morpher; and he was going to get it, by any means necessary.
"You know something, Darby! I actually saw you in Ranger gear; trying to help the other Rangers, take the Q-Rex down. If you were really so determined to get control of it; then you would have done everything in your power, to make that happen. Even if that meant blasting the other Rangers." Eric said to him; proving just how different they really were.
"Oh, well I'm sorry I can't be a jerk like you Eric! But unlike you, I actually believe the Rangers do a lot of good. And at least, I actually try to be friends with them!" Jack said back, with sarcasm. Honestly, Jack didn't hate Eric. He actually thought that he would make a good friend, for someone. But that attitude of his, needed a serious adjustment.
"Well, once I get that morpher from you, Darby. I'll be the leader of the whole Time Force Rangers." Eric spoke.
"You, lead the Power Rangers? What are you talking about?" Wes asked
"Yeah, what are you talking about?" Jack questioned, as a follow-up. they were both, clearly confused by Eric's statement.
"Oh, you guys didn't know?" Eric addressed all of them.
Meanwhile; back at the clock tower; the Rangers were trying to pinpoint where the Quantasaurus was. When suddenly, Mr. Collins walked in. "Mr. Collins! I'm sorry, but Wes isn't here." Jen said to him.
"I'm not here to see Wes." He responded, as he continued to talk. "This place looks familiar to me." He said to his employee, behind him.
"You own it, sir." He reminded Mr. Collins. That made the metaphorical gears in his head click; as he remembered that to be true. Once that was out of the way, he decided to get down to business.
"No actually, I have a business proposition for you. I want to hire you." Mr. Collins spoke to the Rangers
"Hire us?" Jen questioned.
"Well not just you. But that Quantum Ranger too. You wouldn't happen to know where he is, would you?" Mr. Collins clarified.
Elsewhere, back with Wes, Jack, Eric and Arcee. Eric went on and on with the supposed idea, that the Rangers would come work for Mr. Collins; and have Eric as their leader. The very idea, just made both Jack and Wes laugh at that. They told Eric, that there was no way that the other Rangers would go to work for Wes's dad. Of course, Eric thought they'd be fools to pass up the opportunity. Their debate went on for about a minute longer; before Eric got right back to the part, where he demanded to have the morpher. To show Eric, just how serious he was, about not letting him have it. Jack spoke to him. "That's not going to happen!"
"It wasn't a request!" Eric responded, as he approached Jack, with ill intent.
"Oh, real mature of you! So, remind me how that's going to look. A big, bad, scary, adult like you. Picking on a kid like me. Seriously, how is that going to look?!" Jack's question was sarcastic, in nature. Eric had enough of this. He grabbed Jack's arm, in an arm-bar position; while trying to snatch the morpher. Wes grabbed on to Eric; telling him to leave Jack alone. But Eric, shoved Wes aside; telling him to stay out of this. But while going through the moment, Eric forgot all about Jack's partner Arcee. She grabbed on to Eric; and threw him off of Jack. Eric landed hard, on the ground.
"I thought I told you last time; to keep your hands off him!" She told him as a threat, with her blasters aimed at the ready. Eric unholstered his Silver Guardian blaster. He pointed it at Arcee; while making threats of his own.
"You know machine; once I become the Quantum Ranger. I'll have more than enough power, to take you down!" Eric declared, with again; what could only be described as VENOM, in his voice.
"Eric, no!" Wes said, as he tried to prevent him from blasting at Arcee. A struggle between them ensued; which eventually turned into a full-blown fight. Since Jack didn't want anyone to get hurt; he begged them to stop fighting. But it was all for not. Arcee tried to stop them; but as a result, Eric shot at her with his blaster. It wasn't enough to severely injure her. But it was enough to scrape her armor; it caused her to stand on her knees.
"ARCEE!" Jack shouted, with concern for his partner. Jack went to check on her; she told him she was okay; but that action really caused Jack's gears to grind. No one hurts his partner, and gets away with it! "QUANTUM-POWER!" Jack chanted into the morpher; transforming into the Quantum Ranger. Jack pulled out his Quantum Defender; and shot at the ground near Eric. this caused him and Wes to cease fighting. "I'm warning you, Eric! You do that again; and you better pray this thing has a stun feature!" Now, Jack didn't like the idea of hurting anyone, even Eric. But if there's one thing he's learned, from participating in a secret war; it's that sometimes, force is the only language some people speak. Meanwhile; somewhere in the forest, outside of Silver Hills. Commandocon was preparing to send the Q-Rex, on another rampage.
"All right sleepyhead, nap time's over! Let's run some tests. Quantasaurus arise!" He said, while fiddling with his remote control. Soon enough, it arose from its lair. "Good, now move this way!" He ordered. The Q-Rex began it's March to the city. "Hey slow down! Wait for me!" Commandocon said. But the Q-Rex continued to run. "I got to catch up with him. This, I can't miss!" Commandocon said with excitement, followed by a laugh. He began to follow it, the best he could.
Back with Wes, Jack, Eric and Arcee. Jack was trying to convince Eric, yet again, that they didn't have time for this. "You know Eric; I never asked for this power, to begin with. The only reason I have it now; is to keep both it, and the Quantasaurus, out of the wrong hands. Now, you have to let me go; or the Q-Rex will destroy the city. I have to get control of him, Eric." Jack tried to reason with Eric. But what Eric said next; wasn't exactly what Jack wanted to hear.
"You think some kid like you, who doesn't understand the way the world works; would be more worthy than me, to command the Q-Rex? If you truly believe that; then you're just as naive as Wes, here!" Eric stated, while pointing at Wes.
"I may not have been a Power Ranger for very long. But one thing I know for sure, Eric. Is that, being a Power Ranger; means putting other people's needs, ahead of your own. Not everything is about power, Eric!" Jack declared to him. Hearing those words, made both Wes and Arcee; believe that Jack was more worthy of that power, than either of them realized. But Eric still remained unconvinced. At that moment, they all witnessed the Quantasaurus, enter the city. "Come on Wes, we got a job to do!" Jack said to Wes. Wes gave him a smile, followed by a nod of agreement. Jack ran towards the Q-Rex; with Wes and Arcee, in tow.
"TIME FOR TIME FORCE!" Wes shouted, morphing into the Red Ranger.
Commandocon continue to give the Quantasaurus more power; so it could destroy the city. Jack, Wes and Arcee, approached the other Rangers. Along with them, came Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Raf and Miko. "They're my Rangers now." Eric declared. "All right, fall in line!" He ordered. But they, as well as Team Prime; just ran right past him, towards Jack and the others.
"Wes, Jack, Arcee! You're finally here." Jen said with relief
"Yeah, are we glad to see you guys!" Trip spoke with enthusiasm
"I don't know why you guys are so happy to see them. They're not on your team, anymore." Eric stated.
"That shows how much you know." Jen responded.
"Yeah, we told Mr. Collins, we weren't interested in his offer." Trip clarified.
"Right, we decided we like our team, just the way it is." Said Katie.
At this point, even Bulkhead decided to jump into this conversation. "And besides. Jack and Arcee were a part of Team Prime, long before Jack found that morpher." That's slightly confused Eric; since he had no idea, what Team Prime was. Of course, it didn't help; that Bumblebee responded in his signature beeping, that only Raf could understand.
"Even if you were the Quantum Ranger, Eric. There's no way, we would ever have you as a leader." Jen announced.
"Thanks guys." Wes said to his friends; before addressing Eric, with his next sentence. "That's what team work's about!"
"You'll regret this!" Was all Eric had to say to them.
Circuit contacted the Rangers; informing them that he's called for the Time Flyers. Now they could stop the Quantasaurus Rex. After hearing that; the Rangers, and Team Prime, ran towards the Q-Rex. Eric wished them luck; for whatever it was worth. Soon enough, the Time Flyers and Time-Shadow arrived. They then formed the Shadow-Force Megazord, (Mode Red). Back on the ground, Jack asked his friends, if they called Optimus yet. Not long after that, the Ground-Bridge opened up; with Optimus Prime stepping through. "What's that tell you?!" Miko said, as a somewhat sarcastic response. Jack walked up to Optimus.
"Optimus, I'm guessing by now; the others filled you in on everything. I know you don't like the idea of blowing your cover. And hopefully that won't happen. But if people are in danger; then it's our responsibility to help them." Optimus listened to everything Jack said. Whether he liked it or not, Jack was right. Even if they risk exposing their secret; their mission was to protect Earth, and its people. So Optimus looked to Jack; and spoke with all the wisdom of the Primes, behind him.
"You speak with wisdom, beyond your years, Jack. And that morpher, could not have reached a better person. Autobots, provide cover fire! The Power Rangers must stop that machine, by any means necessary!" Optimus ordered the Autobots, as he spoke that last part. The Autobots ran towards the battle; doing exactly as he ordered. But before Jack could join them; Optimus stopped him. He had one more thing to say. "Jack, they tell me there is a chance, that you can gain control of this... Quantasaurus?" He said to him, in the form of a question. Jack didn't know if Optimus, thought this was a good idea, at this point.
"Optimus, even if that were true. The Q-Rex has caused more destruction, than any of us can handle." He replied to the Prime. This didn't stop Optimus from making a valid point, with what he said next.
"Jack, there are those that say, "there is no such thing as a power that should not exist". If there is even the slightest chance, that you can gain control of the Q-Rex; and use it to help the Rangers. Then you must try to do so. But only if, all other options, have not yet been exhausted. I have faith in you!" Optimus said, while resting a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Jack knew that, in his heart, the Prime was right. He needed to hear that. He thanked Optimus for saying that; and told him, that he would give it a try. The Rangers prepared to do battle with the Q-Rex. But at the last minute, Commandocon grew to gigantic size. He wanted a piece of the Rangers too.
He ordered the Quantasaurus to attack them. It did, just that. On a rooftop, not too far from there; Jack witnessed the whole thing. He wished there was some way that he could help. "Oh man! They think they can handle the Q-Rex, alone!" He said, with concern in his voice. "If I don't help, they could be destroyed!" Elsewhere, on a different rooftop; Arcee blasted the Q-Rex, with all her might. This did not go unnoticed by Commandocon.
"Annoying little bug!" He said, as he blasted at her. This caused her to fall off the building; with rubble falling on her, afterwards.
"ARCEE!" Jack said, with worry in his voice.
"Quantum Ranger. The voice identification for the Quantasaurus, is blocked. It will not respond to your commands." The morpher's computer informed him.
"I know. I've got to do something. Q-Rex, listen to me! Please, you have to stop!" Jack pleaded. "Quantasaurus Rex, I order you to stop hurting my friends!" He gave as a command.
"You must find the blocking device, and destroy it." the computer instructed. But just to be absolutely clear; Jack asked the computer, one more question.
"Computer, if I destroy the device. Will the Quantasaurus, listen to only my commands?"
"Affirmative. Once the device is destroyed; the Quantasaurus will be completely under your control." the computer clarified
That was all Jack needed to hear; as he pulled out his weapon. "All right then. Hey Q-Rex, I'm over here!" He blasted at it, with his Quantum Defender. That got its attention; making it approach Jack. "Okay, probably not the best idea I've had." Jack said, in a fearful way. The Rangers told Jack to run. "Hey, there's the blocking device!" Jack spoke. He saw the device in question, with his helmet's scanner. Jack blasted the device; blowing it right off the Q-Rex's head. "Quantasaurus! Listen to my voice! I command you to stop!" Jack ordered; with the Quantasaurus, getting dangerously close to him.
"Checking voice match." the computer said.
"That's it." Jack said. This new turn of events, caught Commandocon by surprise. He couldn't believe he lost control of the Q-Rex; to a child, no less. "That's right, big guy. I'm your friend! No one's going to hurt you, now." Jack said, in a soothing voice, to the Q-Rex. Then his computer, confirmed everything was okay.
"Voice identification, confirmed."
"Replenish power!" Jack ordered; with the Q-Rex now reaching optimal levels.
"Hey, it looks like Jack's got control of the Q-Rex." Trip spoke.
"Oh man, that's a relief." Wes sad, allowing a sigh relief to escape his breath. Even if Jack was a 16 year old boy; he's proven he's more than qualified, to command the Q-Rex.
"Attack the mutant!" Jack ordered, and pushed a button on his morpher. The Q-Rex approached Commandocon; taking up a dinosaur-like fighting stance. Commandocon dared the Q-Rex, to give him, its Best shot. "Q-Rex lasers, fire at will!" Jack shouted into the morpher. The Q-Rex blasted him, with his cannons. The morpher's computer began to speak again.
"Quantasaurus Megazord Mode, online."
"Quantasaurus Rex, Megazord Mode!" Jack commanded, and pressed a button on the morpher. The Q-Rex raised its torso; until it was standing perfectly, like a person. Its dinosaur arms began to rotate; and become replaced. There was a close fisted left hand; and a revolver missile launcher, for a right hand. Lastly, its head lowered; and connected to its chest. A Megazord head then revealed itself. "Whoa! What a megazord!" Jack said, in a belief defying voice. Even Team Prime, on the ground; were blown away by what they saw. The Q-Rex took up a fighting stance; while the Rangers began to voice how amazing it was. But then, Jack remembered something important. He looked down at a pile of rubble, in the street; and gave the Q-Rex an order. "Q-Rex, my friend's buried under all that debris. Please, help her!" His new megazord did as instructed. Using its left hand, to clear the debris off of Arcee. It picked her up; and placed her right beside Jack, on the same rooftop. By the time she regained consciousness; she aimed her blasters at the Quantasaurus Rex, expecting a fight. "Whoa, whoa! Arcee, chill out! He's one of us now." Jack reassured her, while also explaining everything that transpired, since she was buried. Hearing all of this, surprised her. But they both agreed that explanations would come later.
"Quantum missiles, fire!" Jack ordered. The megazord fired its revolver missiles at Commandocon; causing him some serious damage. "Activate, the Quantum thunder fist!" Jack issued his third attack. The Q-Rex launched its left fist at Commandocon, with rocket speed. The impact sent him off his feet; and flying through the air. He landed on the ground, hard.
"Recommend, using the max Blizzard, to complete the mission." the computer suggested.
"Alright, one final shot, and we're home free. Max Blizzard, online!" Jack chanted. As Commandocon coward in fear; the Q-Rex shot green lasers from its shoulders. The lasers hit Commandocon, with all the power they had; freezing him in place. "Well, Commandocon. Looks like, your time's up!" Jack replied. Commandocon resumed moving; only to be shrunk down to his frozen, miniature, action-figure like state. The Q-Rex returned to its dinosaur form; with Jack jumping on its head, afterwards. The Q-Rex let out a roar, before Jack spoke again.
"Wow! You're amazing, Q-Rex! I knew we'd make a good team. But unfortunately this is where we have to say goodbye. Because I made a promise to some new friends." By now, Circuit and the others, had already established that the Quantasaurus Rex was completely under Jack's control. This made them all wonder, how Jack was going to use this new power. But for some reason, Wes just had a positive feeling about all of this. Neither of them had to wonder for long. Because at that moment; Jack jumped on the ground, right in front of them. He then gave a speech.
"Well, it was fun while it lasted. I guess all good things, must come to an end." He spoke.
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Lucas Questioned.
"What, don't you guys remember? We had a deal. We agreed that once I got control of the Quantasaurus; that I would give the morpher back. Well, a deal's a deal. POWER-" Jack was about to power down, until Wes interrupted him. He began to make a statement of his own.
"Jack, I think you should keep it." He said to him. This caught everyone by surprise, especially Jen.
"What? But I gave you my word, that I would give it back; once I got control of the Q-Rex. That's what we agreed upon."
"Jen, come on! I know he was never meant to have that morpher. But he did help us out. He's proven that we can trust him. And he could be a powerful ally. What do you say? Are you willing to give him a chance?" Wes asked.
"Yeah Jen! Ransik's still out there; and we could really use the Quantum Ranger. If we added Jack's new power, to our own; then it would be a whole lot easier to capture Ransik." Katie said. The other Rangers, also thought that it was a good idea. Jack was a good kid; and he used those powers well. Jen was always a stickler for the rules. Even accepting Wes, as the new Red Ranger; was a challenge for her. The others hoped that if they had a united front; Jen would see reason, and give in. They all awaited her answer, with baited breath.
"Well, I suppose." Jen said, as she was considering their options. She didn't like risking the timeline. But if Jack could help them accomplish their mission; then it felt like a small risk, that was worth taking. "Alright!" She replied. She then turned, to address Jack.
"Look Jack! Normally, I would be telling you to give it back; especially since you're a kid. But you've proven your worth, with it. And if you were really going to give up all that power; simply because you believed it to be right. Then you're more qualified than ever, to be the Quantum Ranger." Hearing this, surprised Jack; as well as Team Prime. Even the other Rangers were taken back, by this. They weren't sure if Jen was actually going to go through with their suggestions, or not. At that moment, Jack could only think of one thing to do.
He directed his attention to the Q-Rex, and spoke with excitement. "Hey Q-Rex, looks like you and me are partners now!" The Q-Rex let out a mighty roar; almost as if he was giving a roar of approval. Jack then looked to Arcee, and spoke. "But don't worry, Arcee. No one could ever replace you, as my favorite partner. It's you and me, against the world!" This brought a smile to her face.
"Thanks partner! That means a lot." She answered back.
Of course, then Miko began asking the Power Rangers a dozen questions, in typical Miko fashion. The one she seemed to admire most, was the Yellow Ranger. In some strange way, she reminded her of Bulkhead; because of how strong she was. "Hey Jack! Can I speak into the morpher? I want to give the Q-Rex a few commands too." Miko stated.
A sly grin appeared on Jack's face, underneath his helmet. "Sure, why not?" He said to her. But as soon as she tried giving it orders; she realized that nothing was happening.
"Voice identification, failure." The computer responded. Jack explained to Miko, that it would only obey his voice, from now on. She asked him if he already knew that; then why would he allow her to do that? He told her that it was, just to see the look on her face.
"Quantasaurus Rex, return to your lair!" Jack ordered. Soon enough, the Q-Rex was gone. The Rangers de-morphed. Then suddenly, Mr. Collins, and the Silver Guardians; drove up to greet the Quantum Ranger.
"Hello, Quantum Ranger! I'm Mr. Collins; and I'm here to offer you a job. I want you to lead the Silver Guardians. With you, and the Quantasaurus, at our disposal. We'll be the greatest protection force, in Silver Hills." Mr. Collins stated.
"Pass!" This was the only response Jack had for him.
"Excuse me?" Mr. Collins asked, with disappointment in his voice.
"I said pass! Your son told me about you. About how you only prefer to protect people, who can afford it. Well, we protect people for free, simple as that. POWER-DOWN!" Jack said, before the de-morphing was complete.
"Hey, you're just a kid!" Mr. Collins said, with shock.
"Very observant!" Miko said, with sarcasm. But Mr. Collins had one last hand to play, before giving up.
"How much do you want for it?" He questioned Jack.
"How much what do I want?" Jack responded back.
"Money, of course. I'm willing to buy that morpher from you. Name your price!" Mr. Collins replied.
"It's not for sale. And besides, if you want someone to lead the Silver Guardians. Then look no further, than that guy." Jack said, while pointing towards Eric. He then began to elaborate. "He's been nothing but relentless, with his attempts to take the morpher from me. All so he can be the leader, of your little task force. Now if that doesn't say commitment; then I don't know what does. Now if you'll excuse me; my friends and I, have a class trip to rejoin."
Mr. Collins was left with very little choice. It looked like he wasn't getting any Rangers, to be on his team. Knowing that his options were limited; he made Eric the leader of the Silver Guardians. Eric had shown the kind of initiative, and tenacity; that was required of a leader. In a way, Mr. Collins admired that.
As Eric began to walk away; Jack spoke to him. "Hey Eric!" That stopped him in his tracks. "When you're ready, let's talk!" Jack said to him. But Eric paid him no mind; and walked away, with an annoyed expression on his face. Both Team Prime, and the Rangers; began to walk in the opposite direction. Suddenly, Katie lifted Jack into a bear hug.
"Looks like we've got a sixth Ranger!" She said with excitement.
After she put Jack down; he was given time to breathe. "Whoa! First of all, I'm just a part-time joiner. Second, I've got a lot of responsibilities back home. Like school, and my job." This caused them to have disappointed looks on their faces. "But, if you guys ever need any help; just call, and I'll come running."
After hearing that, they asked him if he was sure; to which he responded with. "Of course. You guys are my friends now. You're all our friends; and we're just a Ground-Bridge away." Hearing that, renewed their excitement. Katie was so excited, that she re-initiated her bear hug on him. After establishing their newfound friendship; Jack had a new idea in his head.
Jasper, Nevada, Autobot Base. 1 hour later
Jack ran it by Optimus; and he had deemed it appropriate/acceptable, for both the teams to meet one another, officially. Of course, this only succeeded in making Ratchet grumpy. Kind of like a cranky old grandpa. But he had his pros, as well as his cons. Once they met Agent Fowler; they were sworn to secrecy, on behalf of the United States Government. They were never to reveal the existence of the Autobots; not that they'd ever want to. Jack was just glad his mom, June, wasn't there at the time. He really didn't feel like explaining to her, that he was a Power Ranger now. They spent the next hour, hanging out at the base; before heading back to Silver Hills, to rejoin their class.
Silver Hills, the next day
Their field trip, finally came to an end; as Jack, Raf and Miko, were boarding the bus to go home. The Rangers were also there, to see them off. At the last minute; Wes had a word with Jack. "Hey Jack! You weren't thinking of leaving without this, were you?" Wes handed him a piece of paper.
"What is it?" He asked Wes, as he opened it.
"It's what you, and your friends asked for. History on the clock tower. Remember, we had a deal? You helped us with our odd job; so now we're helping you, with your history report." Wes responded.
"You actually remembered?" Jack replied.
"Of course. Like you said, you guys are our friends now. A promise is a promise. So have a safe trip home, buddy." Wes said back. Jack and Wes gave each other a friendship handshake, and a one-shouldered hug.
Jack felt so grateful, for everything the Rangers have done for them. "Thank you! I promise, I'll pay you back for this, someday." Jack said.
"You already have. But if that's how you really feel. I wouldn't say no to you and me; having a motorcycle race, someday. I want to see just how fast, you and Arcee, are." Wes said with joy.
That brought a smile to Jack's face. "Deal!" That was all Jack needed to say. The Human members of Team Prime, got on the bus; as it made its way back to Jasper. As the Rangers saw them leave; they all hoped to see them again, real soon. They were friends, after all.
A/N: I'm sorry if some of this seemed a little sloppy. But I was trying to get this done, as quickly as I could. I'm also sorry, if some of the characters may have seemed out of character. I tried to keep them in character, as best I could; while also "sticking it to the man" (mostly Eric and Mr. Collins).
I'm sorry, that I didn't allow much Face-Time between the Rangers and Team Prime. But, like I said; I was just trying to get this done quickly. But I promise, in the next chapter; both teams will interact with each other more.
Furthermore; I realized that Jack revealing his Rangers identity to Mr. Collins, may not seem ideal. But I've got big plans for that, in both this story; and another one, I'm currently making plans for.
