"2 shots of vodka," Cristina said to Joe as she placed the Zara bag on the counter.

"What's with the shopping bag? Don't tell me you went shopping," Alex laughed.

"Uh something like that," Cristina said not wanting to elaborate further.

"You Cristina Yang left in the middle of your shift to go shopping? I don't believe that for one second," Alex laughed again clearly a bit drunk.

"Aren't you supposed to be banging nurses or something?" Cristina asked hoping he would leave her alone.

"Nah they're all leftovers from Sloan besides I'm an attending now can't be getting it on with nurses."

Cristina laughed, "Look at Alex all mature but don't think that I forgot when you gave George Syphilis."

"Why are we talking about that? We're not interns anymore Let's be like grownups here," Alex said as he got up and grabbed his coat.

"Did you just tell me to grow up?" Cristina yelled after him just as her pager went off.

Great what do the nurses want now

"You paged?" Cristina asked.

"Actually I did a 17-year-old car crash victim ultrasound showed internal bleeding had a significant new heart murmur associated with fever, and is now afebrile on antibiotics," the intern said.

"And you are?" Cristina asked the intern pulling out her stethoscope

"Leah last Murphy.

"Didn't the full name Murphy but tell me who else is on this case?" The curly hair doctor asked hoping Hunt wasn't on.

"There's a Dr. Douglas and Dr. Hunt," the intern revealed.

"Oh great just what I needed," Cristina muttered. "I need you to run some labs and report them back to me ASAP we don't know what's happening until I get the full report then page Dr. Hunt," She finished.

"Wouldn't it be easier if you paged Dr. Hunt?" Murphy questioned.

"Im sorry I didn't know that it was difficult to follow your attending's simple orders I didn't ask what was easier for you did I? No I didn't I asked for you to run those labs and page Dr. Hunt!" Cristina raised her voice.

"Now don't just stand there like an idiot go!"She shouted watching the intern almost trip and then walking to the nurse's station with the chart in hand when a container with a waffle appeared next to her. "Oh, you're a lifesaver!"

"Yeah well I actually had breakfast for the first time in like forever," Meredith admitted.

"Mmm thank you for this waffle... wait you didn't make this did you?"

"No," Meredith laughed. "That was all Izzie."

"Enjoy that while it lasts until Derek kicks Alex and Izzie out," Cristina told her.

"Im working on changing his mind, Meredith said noticing an intern standing at a close distance to them, "What's the problem?"

"I um have these labs for Dr. Yang."

"Well then give them to her," She said with clenched teeth.

"I've been waiting for those," Cristina said.

"I had to do-"

"Stop making excuses," Cristina interrupted her.

"Sorry," Murphy said.

"Stop apologizing," Cristina muttered.

"I uh..."

"Stop talking," Cristina said looking up from the charts she was working on. "Her plasma VWF levels are consistently 30-50 IU/dL and her platelet count is low what does that tell you?"

The intern just stood there looking at her. Cristina sighed," You can talk now."

"That she's probably at risk for von Willebrand disease and she might be fine?" Murphy said.

"You consider having Von Willebrand Disease fine?"

"Well, she did have low hemoglobin so I should probably keep an eye on that."

"Get out of my face," Cristina snapped.

"We ran some tests on your daughter and we discovered she has a disease in which her blood is clotting properly and she does need a valve replacement but instead of a mechanical valve I'm suggesting a porcine valve," Cristina informed the freedmans while Hunt and Murphy were standing beside her.

"No," the patient said. "I'm an orthodox jew I'm not having a pig in my chest."

"Miss Freedman I value your religious convictions but without this procedure, you will die,"

"You're hotshot doctors. You'll come up with something else I don't care what it is as long as it has nothing to do with a pig," she said.

"We'll see what we can do," Cristina said walking out of the room Hunt trailing behind.

"Hotshot doctors," Owen said. "Never heard that before."

"I don't see anything wrong with a porcine valve it's not like it's going to oink at her or something," Cristina said.

"We can't really judge I'm, not an orthodox I don't know their morals," Owen mentioned.

"Whatever why bring religion into medicine they're both 2 different things and now I've got to find something that's not related to Wilbur."

"Would you want any assistance?" Owen offered.

"No this isn't your field you're a trauma guy I'm the cardio god I'll think of something," Cristina said. " What about a bovine mitral valve? It's superior to the pig."

"Have you ever done one?" Owen asked her.

"No, but I've seen many of them and while I'm in there you can treat the internal bleeding," Cristina suggested.

"Sounds like a plan I'll see you up in 10," Owen said.

After the surgery was done which was obviously successful thanks to Cristina's surgical skills she headed up to the attending lounge to look for some snacks and maybe while she was at it go on her laptop and find a new apartment she hated living in that hell hole plus Callie would definitely enjoy not sleeping on the couch anymore. After an hour of research, she had found a realtor and narrowed down her options to an apartment complex that was across from the hospital and looked pretty much affordable she just had to get Callie to agree to it. Though in recent years she never cared where she lived as long as she had a nice cozy bed now she was an actual surgeon and she had worked her ass off to finally get to the place she was in and felt like she deserved to treat herself to live in a so-called palace.
