"Sans wait, stop please. ;)" pleaded an Aaron as Sans approached him sadly with a look of guilt. "You don't have to do this, Undyne can help…"

Aaron never finished his offer as a wall of bones struck him from behind turning him into yet another pile of dust as Sans closed his eyes.

"Actually… Undyne can't help me, and I do have to do this." Sans whispered to himself as he suddenly gasped and fell to his hands and knees while a shooting pain raced through his body. "This is bad, the more I go through with this insane plan the more I feel like my body will just give out at any moment."

Sans winced as he said that before glancing at a nearby bridge that led to the end of Waterfall only to pause as he started crossing it only to pause when he heard footsteps from behind him causing him to turn and see a young armless monster.

Seeing Sans, the monster froze before chuckling nervously. "Oh… are you doing what Undyne said too? She said there was a really bad person attacking random people for no reason and that we should all hide."

"Undyne told you to hide, because of all the monsters getting hurt right?" Sans inquired curiously. "That someone scary is hurting and killing them?"

The young monster shuddered slightly at that. "Ye… yeah. We should find somewhere safe to hide, that way Undyne can find the bad person and beat them up."

Sans nodded only to look at the young monster. "Let me tell you something. Never make promises kid, you never know what you might have to do to keep them."

"What do you mean?" the young monster asked only to step back fearfully as Sans formed a bone and shot it at the kid only for Undyne to suddenly jump in the way as the bone impaled her through the chest. "Undyne… you're hurt."

"Hurt, don't worry. It'll take more than that to stop me." Undyne mentioned. "Now get out of here, I'll handle this myself."

The young monster looked at Undyne nervously before turning and running off in fear.

"Undyne, we both know you won't survive that wound." Sans whispered before sighing. "I'm doing this genocide so another version of us can be free."

"Another… what are you talking about Sans?" Undyne questioned. "There are no other versions of…"

"Actually Undyne, there are. Countless timelines; hundreds, thousands, billions? I don't even know how many there are." Sans told her as Undyne started crumbling into dust. "What I do know, is that by sacrificing this one another can survive… that's why I need to kill everyone."

With that thought in mind he turned to leave Waterfall and enter Hotland only for his eyes to widen as five spears shot through his body turning him to dust instantly before a red flash engulfed the entire Underground and he found himself about to step onto the bridge.

Frisk walked along the path only to briefly pause and close her eyes. "Sans… I should have warned you about what would happen. You only have one HP, and if you get hit, I'm sorry. I'll find some way to make up for it."

She turned to the signs that spoke of the way the human wizards sealed away the monsters using a powerful spell that could only be broken using a power equivalent to seven human SOULS, a power Frisk had seen herself on multiple occasions as she continued walking.

'Even if we do break the barrier… it all depends on us getting enough Determination between the three of us to keep whatever resets the world from resetting again.'

Suddenly she arrived in a room with a path she could only partially see before a small smile appeared on her face. "Maybe I'll visit the Temmie Village quickly, they're really friendly and maybe I can give them the good news."

As she said that Frisk walked to a small group of mushrooms that she gently brushed her hand over causing more of the path to light up as she smiled and walked along the path only to pause when she noticed a small dog monster with hair and a striped shirt walking up to her.

"Huh, who you?" the monster asked curiously.

"My name's Frisk." Frisk smiled. "A human, who are you?"

The monster's eyes widened in shock. "A real human? Hoi, I'm Temmie!"

"It's nice to meet you Temmie." Frisk smiled.

"You come Tem Village." Temmie suggested eagerly. "Yeah yeah, Tem Village."

Frisk couldn't help but chuckle at that before nodding. "Ok, can you lead me there?"

"Tem lead." Temmie smiled before turning and walking off only to immediately turn and make sure Frisk was following.

"I'm right behind you Temmie." Frisk smiled causing Temmie to vibrate in excitement as they followed the path and used the mushrooms to light up more and more of it before Temmie abruptly stopped. "Is the Village near here?"

"Yeah, this way." Temmie smiled before going over to a path hidden at the edge of the room which Frisk took with a smile before reaching a small village populated by Temmies. "This Tem Village."

Frisk couldn't help smiling even more only to frown. Temmie… you all deserve freedom and I don't have enough money to help with that.

"Oh, don't forget to say hi to my friend Temmie human." The first Temmie said indicating a group of four other Temmies.

"Ok, I won't." Frisk laughed before walking over to the Temmies. "Hi, my name's Frisk."

"Hoi, I'm Temmie." one of the Temmies smiled. "This is my friend Temmie."

"Yeah yeah, I'm Temmie." another Temmie smiled. "This is my friend Temmie."

Frisk smiled. "Are you all named Temmie?"

"No, my name's Bob." another one of the Temmies said. 'It's nice to meet you."

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about him. Frisk thought before taking a breath. "Could… you get everyone in the village? There's something I need to tell you."

Bob the Temmie looked confused before nodding. "Alright, I'll get them."

With that he walked off while Frisk closed her eyes. 'This has to work, right Sans?'

Sans grunted as he barely dodged another barrage of spears from this new Undyne before launching his own wave of bones at her causing her to wince in pain but continue fighting back. "Undyne please… you don't understand, I can't afford…"

"Save it, you expect me to believe that there are other timelines and the only way to save one is to sacrifice another? That's an excuse and you know it." Undyne told him before surrounding Sans with spears as he dodged them seconds before one impaled him from behind. "Sorry Papyrus, he's too far gone to let live anymore."

Sans meanwhile looked at Undyne weakly before crumbling into dust only for another red flash to occur as he appeared at the edge of the bridge yet again.

"How am I going to handle this? I told her everything about the timelines, but she doesn't believe me and it's not like I can just prove I've fought her before… then again you managed it somehow so there has to be an answer, right Frisk?" Sans asked before sighing and stepping onto the bridge again only to quickly turn around as the young monster ran up to him again.

"Oh… are you doing what Undyne said too? She said there was a really bad person attacking random people for no reason and that we should all hide." The young monster asked.

"Not exactly kid, see it's a little more complicated than that." Sans mentioned as he formed a blaster. "Long story short, sorry about this."

The moment Sans said that a spear struck the blaster causing it to shift and fire into the air and hit Undyne who fell to the ground in between Sans and the young monster clutching a bad wound on her chest.

"Undyne, you're hurt!" the young monster panicked.

"It's nothing. I'll be fine, but you need to get out of here understand." Undyne instructed the young monster before he ran off fearfully. "Sans, what were you thinking?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you Undyne, trust me." Sans mentioned before sighing. "But… the short answer is I'm sacrificing our timeline to save another one."

Undyne winced from her injury before glaring at Sans. "Sacrificing… what are you even talking about?"

"Freedom Undyne." Sans told her. "A chance for us to be free. If you want another version of yourself, another Alphys to be free everyone in this timeline needs to die."

"You expect me to believe that Sans?" Undyne questioned as her body started shaking before the familiar armor appeared and her eye started glowing. "There's no such thing as other timelines, and if that's your excuse for murdering all those innocent monsters then I have no regrets ending you here and now."

Sans took a hesitant step back. "Undyne… you have no idea how easy that is for you, but I made a promise and unfortunately I need to keep this one."

As he said that Sans eye began glowing as he grinned.

Frisk looked around at the Temmies looking at her in confusion before she closed her eyes. Sans… I'm getting there, just wait. This time things will be alright.

"Human, what's wrong?" one of the Temmies asked.

Frisk opened her eyes and smiled. "No, nothing's wrong I just wanted to let you know that pretty soon you'll all be free. The barrier keeping you trapped is going to be broken and you'll be able to see the surface."

The Temmies all stared at Frisk in shock.

"You… you're serious?" Bob asked in disbelief. "Wait, but if you're saying that then do you mean…"

"It's true, you'll be free soon. I promise." Frisk smiled before she closed her eyes again. "It'll just take a little bit longer ok?"

The Temmies all looked unsure and exchanged looks between each other only for one of them to frown. "Human…"

Frisk looked down seeing their expressions before hugging one of the Temmies. "It'll be ok, I promise."

"But human… your SOUL…" another Temmie started before starting to tear up.

"I can't explain it, but I promise everything will work out." Frisk reassured the crying Temmie. "We'll make it to the surface together with everyone else."

"Human… how can you say that? If you know the barrier will be broken that means… you'll have to give up your SOUL." Bob told her hesitantly. "You'll die."

"It'll be ok, I promise somehow everything will work out and I'll be alive when we get to the surface." Frisk smiled gently. "Can you trust me that it'll be ok?"

"… Alright." Bob whispered. "Just… promise that whatever happens you'll be careful?"

"I promise." Frisk smiled before looking around. "Is there anything else I can see here before I leave?"

"Human… visit Tem shop?" one of the Temmies asked hesitantly.

"Alright, I can do that." Frisk mentioned. "I don't have a lot of money, but I can look at the shop before I leave."

As she said that Frisk walked towards the center of the Temmie Village before walking into a small cave.

"Human, welcome to da Tem Shop." a Temmie behind a box said quietly. "You… mean it?"

"You mean about freeing you guys, yeah I do." Frisk smiled. "It won't be easy, but I promise that soon you'll all be free."

The Temmie shopkeeper looked at Frisk before smiling. "Thank you… Tem support human."

Frisk closed her eyes hearing that before smiling back. "Thank you Temmie, that means a lot."

(Frisk has reached Temmie village and informed the Temmies that they should be free soon, but meanwhile Sans is having difficulty getting past Undyne in order to continue his genocide. Next chapter Frisk will continue through the Underground and reach Undyne herself while Sans continues trying to defeat her. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
