Frisk looked at the group of Temmies at the entrance to the Temmie Village before smiling at them. "It won't be long now, then you'll all be free."

Bob looked down uncertainly before nodding. "That's true, and not just us… you'll be free too, and so will the rest of the monsters."

"Yeah." Frisk nodded before turning and leaving the Temmie Village. 'I just need to keep moving.'

With that thought she continued heading through Waterfall into a dark room lit up by lanterns along the floor that grew brighter when she touched them. She slowly walked along the path only to pause and close her eyes. 'I wonder how he's doing; she wanted my SOUL but when I… it'll be ok, he can dodge her spears and it'll all be worth it in the end.'

Frisk shook her head before walking along the familiar path as the room darkened and she continued along the path before reaching an Echo Flower as her eyes widened.

"Behind you." The echo flower repeated as Frisk nervously turned to see Undyne blocking the only path she could take as a spear formed in her hands.

"Seven. Seven human SOULS. With the power of seven human SOULS, our king… King Asgore Dreemurr… will become a god." Undyne stated taking a threatening step forward. "With that power, Asgore can finally shatter the barrier. He will finally take the surface back from humanity… and give them back the suffering and pain we have endured."

Hearing that Frisk looked down. 'They have suffered, and I haven't been able to do anything… even when I… No. This is going to work, for everyone's sake it has to work.'

Undyne took another step towards Frisk as she tightened her grip on her spear. "Understand human? This is your only chance at redemption. Give up your SOUL… or I'll tear it from your body."

Frisk just watched as Undyne moved closer and closer only for a familiar armless monster to emerge from the grass nearby causing her to freeze in her tracks.

"Undyne! I'll help you fight!" the armless monster shouted enthusiastically before pausing and looking to see only Undyne and Frisk were there. "Yo! You did it! Undyne is right in front of you! You've got front row seats to her fight!"

'I guess that's one way of putting it.' Frisk thought.

"… Wait. Who's she fighting?" the armless monster asked in confusion only for Undyne to suddenly grab him by his face and start dragging him off. "H-hey! You aren't going to tell my parents about this, are you?"

Frisk just watched Undyne drag the monster off before she let out a small sigh of relief. "That's still terrifying, but at least it's almost over now."

With that thought in mind Frisk continued along the path towards the barrier, towards Asriel, and towards what would hopefully be their true freedom.

Sans jumped back just as three spears struck the ground in front of him only for him to quickly form a bone and use it to deflect a fourth spear. "Hey, I know you're trying to kill me but mind throwing me a bone?"

Undyne's expression darkened at that before she formed another barrage of spears with a few yellow ones added before launching them all at Sans from every direction she could causing him to try and dodge them.

"I guess that's a no the…" Sans started before his eyes widened looking down to see one of the yellow spears had impaled him from behind. "Guess I need another plan."

He fell forward as another red flash of light enveloped the area and he appeared at the end of the bridge yet again.

"Oh… are you doing what Undyne said too? She said there was a really bad person attacking random people for no reason and that we should all hide." asked a familiar voice as Sans turned to see the young armless monster.

"We should… wait a second." Sans whispered before smiling. "Kid, I've got to thank you."

"Huh, what do you mean?" the young armless monster inquired curiously.

"Just stay right here for one second, I want to make sure it's safe ok?" Sans requested before the young armless monster nodded. "Thanks."

With that he walked onto the bridge before looking and closing his eyes as he placed three blasters obscured from view to help him try and survive his next fight with Undyne before turning and waving.

"It's safe?" the young armless monster asked running over to Sans.

"Well, the thing is kid… sorry." Sans apologized before forming a bone and launching it at the young armless monster causing him to cry out in fear seconds before Undyne landed and took the hit.

"Undyne, you're hurt." the young armless monster whispered fearfully.

"Don't worry, this is nothing." Undyne reassured him. "Get going, I'll handle this."

The young armless monster looked between Sans and Undyne nervously before running off.

"Undyne…" Sans started only to frown and shake his head. "No, it's not going to change anything is it?"

"What… what are you talking about?" Undyne asked weakly. "Why are you doing all of this? Don't you know what it's doing to your brother Papyrus?"

Sans flinched hearing that before frowning. "I know."

"Then answer me, why are you killing everyone?" Undyne questioned. "What's the point of all of this?"

Sans didn't answer as he just watched Undyne start to crumble into dust before she clenched her fists and her appearance changed. "Does it even matter Undyne, I'm not going to stop… I can't."

Undyne glared at Sans before forming a spear. "Yes you are Sans, I promise I'll stop you right here and right now."

'If only you knew, you've already done that twice Undyne.' Sans thought as his eye began to glow blue. 'I just hope this plan of mine works.'

"… hmmm… if I say my wish… You promise you won't laugh at me?"

"Of course I won't laugh!"

"Someday, I'd like to climb this mountain we're all buried under. Standing under the sky, looking at the world all around… that's my wish."

There was a short period of laughter at that.

"… hey, you said you wouldn't laugh at it!"

"Sorry, it's just funny… that's my wish, too."

Frisk closed her eyes as she passed the echo flowers. "I promise, your wishes will come true. The three of us, we'll make sure of it."

She smiled before turning to a long bridge as she took a slow breath and started walking along it. 'Sans, I'm getting there. I promise everything will work out.'

Frisk kept walking only to hear footsteps from behind her as she turned to see the young armless monster again.

"Yo!" the armless monster called while approaching Frisk. "Yo, I know I'm not supposed to be here, but… I want to ask you something. … Man, I've never had to ask anyone this before… Um… Yo… you're human, right?"

Frisk looked at the armless monster before nodding. "That's right, I am."

"Haha. Man! I knew it! … well, I know it now, I mean… Undyne told me, um, 'Stay away from that human.' So, like, um… I guess that makes us enemies or something." the armless monster admitted. "But I kind of stink at that, haha. Yo, say something mean so I can hate you? Please?"

Frisk frowned at that. "I can't say something mean to someone like you."

"Yo, what? So I have to do it?" the armless monster asked before swallowing nervously. "Here goes nothing… Yo, I… I hate your guts. … Man, I… I'm such a turd. I'm… I'm going to go home now."

Frisk closed her eyes before watching the armless monster walk off only for him to suddenly lose his balance and start falling just as Undyne appeared on the other side of the bridge.

"Hang on, I'm coming!" Frisk cried running towards the armless monster and Undyne before grabbing the armless monster by the shirt. "I've got you."

Undyne paused seeing that as Frisk managed to pull the armless monster back onto the bridge before falling back and gasping for breath.

The armless monster looked at Frisk in shock before turning to Undyne. "Y… Y… Yo… dude… If… If y-you want to hurt my friend… you're going to have to get through me first."

Undyne stared at them in shock before turning and walking back leaving Frisk and the armless monster alone.

"Are you ok?" Frisk asked turning to the armless monster. "That was really close."

"Yeah, I'm ok." the armless monster nodded only to frown. "She's gone… Yo, you really saved my skin. Guess being enemies was just a nice thought, haha. We'll just have to be friends instead."

Frisk smiled. "I like that idea."

The armless monster nodded with his own smile. "… Man, I should really go home… I bet my parents are worried sick about me! Later, dude!"

Frisk watched as the armless monster walked off before she closed her eyes. 'Just a little farther and I'll be in Hotland, then I can ask the River Person for help traveling through the Underground.'

She looked towards a nearby mountain before walking forward past the bridge.

Sans stepped back as spears hit the bridge right in front of him as he started sweating and breathing heavily before he turned her SOUL blue and tried to throw her from the bridge in line of one of his hidden blasters only for Undyne to notice it and throw a spear destroying it.

"You're going to have to try a little harder than that Sans." Undyne told him while jumping off one of the other two blasters to get back onto the bridge.

Sans frowned at that before glancing towards his final blaster still hidden under the bridge as he formed another two blasters. "I'll keep that in mind, this bonehead won't forget that one."

Undyne glared at him before forming another spear just as Sans disappeared causing her to look around in shock.

Suddenly a wall of bones struck her from behind causing her to wince and turn to see Sans was behind her as he formed another blaster and fired at her.

Sans let out a sigh only for his eyes to shoot open as his blaster started cracking before it shattered as a spear flew inches past his head and Undyne met his gaze. 'Seriously Frisk… how were you able to do this?'

He suddenly fell to his hands and knees and started breathing heavily.

Seeing that Undyne frowned and walked up to him. "Sans… Papyrus still thinks there's something else going on, so I'm going to ask one more time. Why are you doing all of this?"

Sans looked up at Undyne and frowned. "You wouldn't understand Undyne. I don't have any other choice." 'Just like she didn't.'

"Then… I'm sorry Sans." Undyne told him before forming a spear and stabbing Sans through the skull only for another red flash to envelop the Underground again.

Sans winced as he stared at the bridge in front of him before pausing and closing his eyes. 'Ok Frisk… you managed to get through this… so it has to be possible. The question is, how did you do it?'

He frowned before thinking back only for his eyes to suddenly widen.

"Oh… are you doing what Undyne said too? She said there was a really bad person attacking random people for no reason and that we should all hide." The young monster asked yet again.

Sans turned to the monster and grinned. "She's right, you should run ahead kid. I'll keep an eyesocket open for you."

The monster blinked before nodding and running across the bridge.

(Frisk has reached Undyne but her actions in the Underground may help her get past the captain of the royal guard, but Sans is having difficulty killing her. Next chapter Frisk will begin her battle with Undyne and Sans will come up with a plan to try and kill her. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
