Sans watched the young monster run off before taking a breath as his eye began glowing and the young monster froze in a blue glow before turning around.
"Huh, what's going on?" he asked only to see Sans holding out his hand as his eye was glowing before a blaster appeared.
"Sorry kid, no hard feelings but this is for the best." Sans mentioned as he formed a blaster only for a spear to suddenly fly through it as Undynne jumped in front of the young monster.
"Undyne!" the young monster cried only to notice she was glaring at Sans before he fearfully ran from the bridge.
"Sans what's wrong with you?" Undyne questioned. "Do you have any idea what you've been doing?"
'I know exactly what I'm doing Undyne, and I absolutely hate myself for it.' Sans thought before putting his hands in his jacket pockets. "Yeah, but I'm not sure if you do though. Believe me Undyne… it's a lot more complicated than you think."
"How is it complicated?" Undyne questioned. "You're killing innocent people in cold blood and just tried to murder a child! It isn't complicated Sans; you've just lost your…"
Her eye suddenly widened as. A bone stabbed through her back, and she collapsed to her hands and knees while Sans took a step back.
'Here it comes, there has to be something I can do to kill her… the only question is what that something is.' he thought as Undyne rose up in her transformed appearance and formed spears in her hands.
"I'm not just going to roll over and die, this has to end Sans!" Undyne declared. "One way or another, you won't kill another monster!"
Sans frowned seeing that before wincing only for his eyes to widen. 'Wait a second… that's just crazy enough to work.'

Frisk slowly approached the mountain only for a spear to get thrown and land right in front of her causing her to freeze and look up to see Undyne on the top of the mountain.
"Seven. Seven human SOULS, and King Asgore will become a god. Six. That's how many we have collected thus far. Understand? Through your seventh and final SOUL, this world will be transformed. First, however, as is customary for those who make it this far… I shall tell you the tragic tale of our people. It all started, long ago…" Undyne began only to pause. "… No, you know what? SCREW IT! WHY SHOULD I TELL YOU THAT STORY WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE!? NGAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Frisk shuddered slightly seeing that. 'You still scare me a little Undyne.'
"YOU! You're standing in the way of everybody's hopes and dreams! Alphys's history books made me think humans were cool… … with their giant robots and flowery swordswomen. BUT YOU? You're just a coward! Hiding behind that kid so you could run away from me again! And let's not forget your wimpy goody-two-shoes-schtick!" Undyne declared. "Oooh! I'm making such a difference by hugging random strangers! You know what would be more valuable to everyone? IF YOU WERE DEAD! That's right, human! Your continued existence is a crime! Your life is all that stands between us and our freedom! Right now, I can feel everyone's hearts pounding together! Everyone's been waiting their whole lives for this moment! But we're not nervous at all. When everyone puts their hearts together, they can't lose! Now, human! Let's end this, right here, right now. I'll show you how determined monsters can be! Step forward when you're ready! Fuhuhuhu!"
Frisk looked up at Undyne before taking a nervous step forward as Undyne leapt from the top of the mountain and landed right in front of her.

Sans jumped back as another spear pierced the ground where he had been standing moments before.
'She isn't even slightly slowing down.' Sans thought before teleporting away from a spear that shot out of the ground. "Undyne, listen to me… I'm doing all of this for the benefit of…"
"Save it Sans." Undyne interrupted angrily. "You're doing this because you've lost your mind, Papyrus… do you even care what you're doing to your own brother?"
Sans frowned at that as he formed a blaster and aimed it at Undyne. "Of course, I care. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't care."
Undyne braced herself as the blaster fired only to throw a spear, destroying it. "If you care so much then why are you putting him through all of this?"
She started breathing heavily as Sans noticed she looked to be in a lot of pain.
'I knew it, as tough as she is even Undyne can't handle…' Sans thought only to gasp as a yellow spear punched through the back of his skull as a red glow enveloped the area as he appeared in front of the bridge with Undyne nowhere in sight. "You must have been really determined to get past her like that Frisk… but I think I'm getting closer. Hopefully after this, things will calm down a little."

Frisk winced as she used the spear Undyne had thrown at her feet to block another barrage of Undyne's spears, her SOUL had been turned green moments after Undyne hit the ground preventing her from running. "You're really strong and cool."
"Flattery isn't going to make me spare you human." Udyne smiled as she formed another spear. "Though I have to admit you're a lot more resilient than I thought."
Frisk couldn't help but smile at that before gasping as she felt her SOUL change back to red moments before a spear flew at her head and she dived to avoid it before running past Undyne.
"Hey, where do you think you're going human? Get back here!" Undyne shouted as she started running after Frisk.
'I forgot how scary she was.' Frisk thought as she ran as fast as she could only for a spear to land next to her and her SOUL turned green again freezing her in place.
"You're not running away from me human." Undyne declared as she formed several blue and yellow spears and launched them all at Frisk who barely manage to grab the spear next to her and tried to defend herself.
'Just a little more, if I can to Hotland I'll be able to become her friend again.' Frisk thought only to cry out as one of the yellow spears hit her in the shoulder.
"Just give up human, I promise to make it painless and just think about what your death will mean." Undyne said calmly as she formed another spear. "With your SOUL, we'll all be free."
With those words Undyne swung her spear at Frisk only for her to block it with the spear next to her.
"I know, I heard everyone's wishes from the echo flowers." Frisk replied. "You all want to see the surface, to see the sky and the stars."
"If you know that then why are you fighting? Just give up your SOUL so that dream can…" Undyne started only to notice the determined look in Frisk's eyes.
"There has to be another option, a way that everyone can reach the surface together." Frisk stated as she tried to hold Undyne's spear back.
"There isn't any other way, the barrier can only be broken by the power of seven human SOULS." Undyne pointed out before forcing Frisk back and forming another group of spears. "The only way for us to see the sky is for you to die here and give up your SOUL!"
She snapped her fingers as the spears flew towards Frisk who barely managed to block them before noticing her SOUL had turned red again as she threw the spear to the side and started running again.

Sans frowned as three spears struck his blaster destroying it as he was forced to teleport away from another spear that rose from the ground where he had been standing. 'This isn't working, she can't withstand Determination forever, but the problem is… she can last longer than I can.'
Suddenly Undyne looked down and tightened her grip on another spear. "Why now? Why to do this Sans?"
"Believe me, if I could tell you why I'm doing all of this I would Undyne but… I just can't." Sans admitted before sighing. "I don't have a choice either way."
"Is that supposed to be some kind of sick joke?" Undyne questioned. "We're talking about innocent lives that you ripped away, you had a choice, and you chose to lose your mind and slaughter them all!"
"It isn't…" Sans started before closing his eyes. 'Frisk… promise me you'll be there at the end, to make all this pain and suffering worth it.'
"Answer me Sans!" Undyne shouted. "Why are you doing all of this?"
Hearing her shout Sans gently shook his head. "You want to know Undyne, it won't make a difference in the long run but ok. The truth is I'm saving a different version of all of us."
"Different… what are you talking about now?" Undyne asked as Sans noticed a blue glow beneath him causing him to teleport away just as a spear shot up out of the ground. "There's no other versions of us."
"You're wrong about that Undyne, there are countless versions of us." Sans replied as he formed another blaster only for a spear to instantly shatter it. "The thing is, for another version of us to reach the surface… I think you can figure it out."
"You really have lost your mind Sans." Undyne frowned hearing that. "Killing innocent monsters won't set anyone free. I don't know what happened to you but…"
She suddenly froze as her eye widened. "Sans, don't tell me that's what I think it is!"
Sans blinked before a red glow caused him to turn and see Chara's SOUL glowing brightly next to him. 'Not good, if Undyne saw…"
He gasped as a spear flew through his skull and everything flashed red again leaving him at the bridge.
"Oh… are you doing what Undyne said too? She said there was a really bad person attacking random people for no reason and that we should all hide." The young monster asked only for Sans to turn to him. "Huh, hey you're kind of creeping me out."
"Don't you worry Undyne will be here soon and…" Sans started before pausing. 'Wait a second, if I time it right that should work. At least, I think it will… Frisk you're a heck of a lot tougher than I thought if you managed to get past Undyne.'

Frisk ran as fast as she could as the sounds of Undyne running after her in her armor echoed behind her.
"Get back here you darn human. Face your death with some dignity!" Undyne called before throwing a spear that flew past Frisk's head.
Frisk gasped at that before her phone suddenly started to ring as she froze before taking out her phone only to notice that Papyrus was calling her. "Hello, Papyrus?"
Hearing that Undyne paused in surprise and just stared at Frisk.
"Hey! What's up!? I was just thinking… You, me, and Undyne should all hang out sometime! I think you would make great pals!" Papyrus mentioned.
"You do?" Frisk asked hearing that. "That sounds like a great idea."
"Right?" Papyrus asked before smiling. "Let's all meet up at her house later!"
With that Papyrus hung up and Frisk put her phone away only to pause and turn to Undyne who was just staring at her before forming another spear as Frisk gasped and started running again.
(Frisk is running from Undyne to try and reach Hotland before she gets killed while Sans is still struggling to kill her but has come up with a desperate plan that just might prove to be successful. Next chapter Frisk will reach Hotland and begin trying to befriend Undyne and Sans will attempt to finally kill Undyne. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
