"Why are you looking at me like that?" the young monster asked fearfully as Sans took a step forward. "We should keep going, right?"
"Actually, I might need your help with something." Sans answered walking to the young monster as his eye started to glow. "Just do me a favor and stay right there."
The young monster's eyes widened in fear as he turned to run just as Sans summoned three bones and launched them towards him moments before Undyne appeared and winced in pain as the bones struck her.
"Undyne, you're hurt!" the young monster panicked seeing that.
"Don't worry, I'm ok." Undyne reassured the young monster with a smile. "I don't know what's going on with him, but I promise everything will be ok."
Nodding nervously the young monster ran past Undyne only for her to wince in pain. "I say that but…"
"Look, Undyne." Sans started with a sigh. "I know you think I'm losing my mind, who knows maybe I am. Either way, this is something I need to do."
Undyne frowned. "I promised Papyrus I would try and get through to you, but it's obvious you're way too far gone."
'Paps… I wish I could tell you what's going on, how much I'm trying to save everyone but… there's no way you'd ever believe me.' Sans thought as he watched Undyne start to fade away into dust only to assume her more powerful form he'd been fighting and dying to repeatedly as she formed a spear and stared at him coldly. "Let me guess, I'm going to have to try a little harder to kill you?"
Undyne stared at him hearing that. "You won't be killing anyone else Sans; I'm stopping you right here and right now."
With those words she formed a line of spears and launched them at Sans as he teleported from the bridge to try and once again kill her.

Frisk cried out as a spear hit the ground right next to her as she felt the heat suddenly start rising drastically and she glanced to the side to see Sans sleeping at a sentry station.
"Stop running human!" Undyne called only to notice the sleeping Sans as she frowned. "Sans, wake up and stop that human!"
Frisk glanced over her shoulder to see Sans just sleep peacefully as Undyne glared at him before turning and starting to run after her again causing Frisk to cry out as she ran only to notice a water cooler nearby as the sounds of Undyne's footsteps slowed down.
"My armor… it's so hot… but I can't…" Undyne gasped before collapsing from being overheated.
Frisk gasped seeing that before running to the water cooler and quickly getting a cup before giving it to Undyne. "Are you ok? Here, drink this."
She slowly helped Undyne drink the water as her eyes slowly opened only to blink seeing Frisk helping her as she stood up only to stare at her before walking off.
Frisk watched Undyne leave before taking a slow breath as she walked down a path towards a hooded figure on a boat in preparation to head to Undyne's house and try and make friends with her once again.

'She isn't even giving me a minute to breath.' Sans thought as he used a bone to barely deflect another barrage of Undyne's spears. 'I think I know how to finally beat her, but I need a few seconds to set everything up so…'
His thoughts were interrupted as he had to teleport to avoid a ring of spears that was rapidly closing in on him.
"I don't get it." Undyne frowned as she formed another spear and threw it towards Sans only for him to barely dodge it. "Of all the things in the world to get you to actually try and put some effort it had to be the genocide of every one of us? Why?"
"You want to know why?" Sans asked as he formed another three blasters and aimed them at Undyne only to frown as they were quickly destroyed by her spears. "It's because we're desperate."
"Desperate, what's that supposed to mean?" Undyne questioned.
Sans closed his eyes. "We've seen it before Undyne, the surface. We've seen the barrier get destroyed and breathed the fresh air of the surface, but something's always been dragging us back. Believe me, I know it sounds insane but it's true."
Undyne's eye widened in shock hearing that before she glared at him. "What are you talking about, and who? Don't tell me you have someone helping you kill us all?"
"No, it's nothing like that." Sans replied. "Actually, it's the opposite. Someone wants desperately to set us all free, but she can't."
Undyne paused hearing that. "What do you mean she can't? Who are you talking about?"
Sans closed his eyes as he recalled Frisk's face only to look down. "A young girl who did everything she could to try and help us but wasn't able to pull it off in the end. Even though it cost her life." 'More than once if my guess is right.'
"Wait, don't tell me you're talking about a human." Undyne said in disbelief. "You found one, the seventh Human SOUL that we need to break the barrier!"
Hearing that Sans paused briefly. 'That just might work… I need to time this right, and I might be able to kill her.'

Frisk took a slow nervous breath as she walked up towards Undyne's house only to notice Papyrus waiting outside as she smiled. "Papyrus?"
Hearing his name Papyrus turned and smiled. "Ah, human Frisk. I was waiting for you."
"Sorry it took so long to get here." Frisk apologized only to smile. "So… we're going to hang out with Undyne?"
"That's right." Papyrus grinned before revealing a bone with a bow on it. "Here, when we go inside give this to Undyne, she loves them."
Taking the bone Frisk nodded as she took a step behind Papyrus as he knocked on the door before it opened revealing Undyne in a black tank-top and blue pants.
"Hi Papyrus! Ready for your extra private, one-on-one training?" Undyne inquired with a grin.
"You bet I am!" Papyrus replied with his own grin. "And I brought a friend!"
After saying that Papyrus stepped aside as Undyne noticed Frisk.
"Hi, I don't think we've…" she started only to pause before frowning. "Why don't. You two. Come in?"
Frisk swallowed nervously before she followed Undyne and Papyrus into the house.
"Here Undyne. My friend brought a gift for you." Papyrus mentioned showing Undyne the bone. "On their own!"
"uh… thanks." Undyne replied slightly awkwardly as she took the bone only to notice Frisk gently shrug. "I'll, uh, put it with the others."
She then walked to a drawer and opened it revealing several similar bones as she put the new one in the drawer with them.
"So are we ready to start?" she inquired.
"Whoopsy doopsy! I just remembered!" Papyrus cried suddenly. "I have to go to the bathroom! You two have fun!"
With that Papyrus dove out of the window leaving Frisk and Undyne alone before Undyne turned to Frisk in annoyance.
"So why are you here?" Unyne questioned. "To rub your victory in my face? To humiliate me even further? Is that it?"
Frisk frowned. "No, I don't want to do anything like that."
"Then why are you here?" Undyne asked her only to pause. "Wait, I get it. You think that I'm going to be friends with you, huh?"
"Well, I'd like to try and become your friend." Frisk admitted.
"Oh that's perfect, let's be friends. What should we do first, friendship bracelets? Braid each other's hair?" Undyne asked sarcastically before glaring at Frisk. "Forget it, there's no way I'll ever be your friend!"
Hearing that Frisk looked down. "Oh… then, I guess I should leave. I'm glad you're ok though."
Undyne's eye widened slightly at that. "Oh yeah… the water. It was helpful."
"I'm glad." Frisk smiled. "Even if we're not friends, I don't want you to get overheated and hurt."
"Well, you're a guest in my house at least so… sit down. Do you want anything to eat or drink?" Undyne asked. "I've got a few things so…"
Frisk smiled as she walked over to Undyne's table as she laid different drinks on the table before smiling. "Golden Flower tea sounds good."
"Golden Fower? That's strange." Undyne admitted taking it. "Actually, that's King Asgore's favorite."
"Really?" Frisk asked as Undyne started heating some water for the tea. "What kind of person is the king?"
Undyne paused at that before turning to Frisk. "Honestly, he's kind of like you. I still remember when I was a kid, I ended up challenging him to a fight, but I wasn't able to land a single blow on him."
"He sounds really strong." Frisk admitted.
"Yeah, but after seeing that I decided I would beat him one day." Undyne continued with a small smile. "I kept training with him day after day until finally I managed to knock him down, and do you know what happened?"
"I don't know." Frisk admitted. "What did happen?"
"He started to laugh." Undyne answered pouring Frisk a cup of the tea. "He laughed and seemed almost happy I managed to beat him."
Frisk took a small sip only to wince slightly at the hot tea before smiling. "He sounds nice, was that when you became the captain of the Royal Guard?"
"Yeah, it was." Undyne nodded only to close her eye. "You've seen how motivated Papyrus is to become a member right?"
Frisk smiled. "That's an understatement, it's his dream to join the Royal Guard and I think he'd be really good at it."
"No, he wouldn't be." Undyne sighed. "Look don't misunderstand, Papyrus is really tough. More than some of the Snowdin Canine Unit. It's just, he's too kind."
"Oh, I think I get it." Frisk nodded. "Being a member of the Royal Guard is dangerous so even though Papyrus is really strong, if he's too kind to people he could end up getting hurt."
"Or worse." Undyne confirmed. "Still, he wants to join the Royal Guard so badly, so I've been giving him some special training and…"
Frisk couldn't help but smile slightly knowing what was about to happen as Undyne shot up in realization.

Sans barely managed to dodge another barrage of spears as he looked around the area. 'It's too late now, but it looks like if I manage to distract her with Chara's SOUL next time, I should be able to land a killing blow.'
"Sans what are you thinking? All these lives lost and you had it the whole time? The seventh and final Human SOUL we need for King Asgore to break the Barrier." Undyne cried angrily. "What's going on in that head of yours?"
"Hard to say, you know I'm a bonehead." Sans chuckled slightly before sighing. "Maybe it's just finally gotten to me. We've been trapped for so long… who's to say what's up there is even worth it at this point?"
"Of course, it's worth it! We're talking about our freedom Sans, or at least freedom for those of us that are left after your killing spree!" Undyne snapped.
"You really think so Undyne?" Sans asked her before shrugging and closing his eyes. "Then go ahead, I'm too tired to keep this up anyway so stop me and take the SOUL."
Undyne just stared at Sans before frowning as she formed a single spear and threw it at Sans killing him instantly as the world was enveloped in a familiar red flash of light.
(Frisk is starting to try and become friends with Undyne and is about to get some special training from her, and at the same time Sans may have finally found the key to killing Undyne himself. Next chapter Frisk will meet another old friend from her journeys through the Underground. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
