"Wait a second, special training… Papyrus is supposed to be having his cooking lesson right now!" Undyne cried before frowning as she turned to Frisk. "Well, since he's not here you'll need to have his lesson for him."

Hearing that Frisk smiled. "Ok, what are we going to cook together?"

Undyne grinned before getting a large pot, a box of pasta noodles, and some vegetables. "We're starting with spaghetti of course."

Frisk blinked only to pause. "Oh, but I've never made spaghetti before. I wouldn't even know where to start cooking it."

Undyne only grinned. "Just listen to me and you'll make the best spaghetti you've ever tasted. Nothing brings Papyrus and me closer than cooking so after this we'll be the best of friends."

Frisk smiled hearing that. "That sounds amazing, what do we do first?"

"First things first you need to pound the vegetables, strike them like they were your worst enemy!" Undyne cried as Frisk nodded punching a tomato knocking it over. "Yeah, just like that!"

Frisk smiled but knowingly shut her eyes just as Undyne smashed the vegetables getting them all over the counter and wall. "Wow, you're really good at that."

Undyne chuckled awkwardly at that. "Well, we can clean that up later. Next up we need to put the noodles in the pot."

Frisk nodded at that before picking up the box of pasta noodles only to aggressively dump them into the pot.

"That's it, ok now put the pot on the stove and turn up the heat." Undyne told Frisk as she nodded before putting the pot of noodles on the heat and started turning it up.

"Like this?" she asked turning to see Undyne was grinning.

"Exactly, keep it up… really turn up the heat." Undyne told Frisk. "Hotter!"

Frisk nodded turning the heat higher and higher only to suddenly pause as Undyne frowned.

"Wait a second, that might be too…" she started before the entire kitchen and house was suddenly engulfed in flames and the two of them were covered in soot from the smoke.

"Are you ok?" Frisk coughed turning to see Undyne.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Undyne nodded wiping her face. "I guess that explains why Papyrus is such a bad cook though."

"Well, practice makes perfect right?" Frisk asked as Undyne nodded only to suddenly frown.

"Look, you're clearly a nice kid human but we can't be friends." she frowned before turning to Frisk. "It would only hurt more to have to kill you and take your SOUL, so… take a weapon and hit me with everything you've got."

As Undyne said that she materialized a single spear and tightened her grip on it while waiting for Frisk to make the first move.

Frisk frowned slightly before nodding and punching Undyne as hard as she could only for Undyne to blink and frown.

"Is… is something wrong?" Frisk asked.

"Even now, you really can't muster up any motivation to hurt me, can you?" Undyne asked before sighing as she lowered her spear. "To be honest, I don't want to hurt you either."

"We don't have to fight Undyne, I don't know exactly how but there must be a way to break the barrier and let us all get to the surface together." Frisk told her before smiling and offering a hand. "Do you trust me?"

Undyne stared at Frisk before grinning. "Of course I trust you, we're friends after all."

"Yeah." Frisk smiled only for the two of them to notice the house was still on fire as they quickly left and turned to see flames coming out of the windows. "Your house, are you going to be alright Undyne?"

"Don't worry, I'll figure something out." Undyne mentioned. "I might go hang out with Papyrus for a while."

Frisk nodded at that before smiling as she watched Undyne run off before taking a slow breath. "Well, now to head back to Hotland and see Dr. Alphys and Mettaton."

She paused at that before taking out her phone and calling Papyrus.

"Ah, human Frisk." Papyrus smiled. "Did you and Undyne have a good time together?"

"Yeah, we did thanks." Frisk smiled only to suddenly hear someone panting as though they'd gone for a long run.

"Hey punk, what's up?" Undyne inquired.

"Undyne, what are you doing here?" Papyrus asked curiously.

"There was a small accident with some spaghetti." Frisk explained. "We might have turned the temperature a bit too high."

"Oh, well I'm sure you'll be a great cook if you have some more lessons." Papyrus smiled. "Though, for what reason did you call the great Papyrus? Did you want my expert advice on a puzzle?"

Frisk giggled slightly hearing that. "Not this time, I was actually about to head out when I realized… do the royal guards know that we're friends Undyne and that we don't have to fight?"

"Oh… that might be a small problem. When I learned about humans, they had this cool power to brainwash other people so I might have told the other Royal Guards that if I suddenly start acting strangely or telling them not to go after a human it means I'm being controlled and to just ignore that." Undyne explained. "I wouldn't worry though punk, you should be able to handle yourself."

Frisk sighed at that remembering that was what happened the last time she asked Undyne. "Oh well, hopefully I can make friends with them too."

"I am sure you'll be able to do it you are almost as great as me after all." Papyrus added with a grin.

"Thanks Papyrus, well I should get going but it was great to talk with you two." she smiled.

"Let us know if you need anything punk, I'll be right here with Papyrus." Undyne mentioned as Papyrus hung up the phone and Frisk took a slow breath.

"Well, now to Alphys's lab, and to meet Mettaton." Frisk whispered before walking away from Undyne's still burning house as she headed back towards Hotland.

Sans took a slow breath as he watched the bone strike Undyne instead of the young monster just as he'd seen several times before only for her to take on her more powerful form as she glared at him angrily.

'That's it, I just need to get her into position now. The blasters are all hidden aiming at the same spot.' Sans thought before shrugging. "Undyne before we… you know, can we talk for a second?"

Hearing those words Undyne frowned. "Fine! We can start with you explaining what the hell you think you're doing murdering so many of us!"

Sans just shrugged. "Good question, maybe it has something to do with this?"

The moment he said that Sans revealed Chara's SOUL glowing brightly as it shined at the end of the bridge.

"That… Sans that's the last…" Undyne started in complete disbelief before glaring at him. "Where did you get a Human SOUL?"

Sans frowned. "I found it at the entrance to the Ruins, a human child fell and didn't survive the fall but… huh Undyne?"

Blinking Sans looked around in confusion before starting to tremble. "What the… what's going on? Why am I here in Waterfall and not back at the door in Snowdin Forest?"

Undyne's eyes narrowed before she froze and glanced up at the red glowing Human SOUL Sans claimed to have found. "No, don't tell me that thing… Sans give it to me right now."

Shuddering as he looked at the glowing SOUL Sans nodded stepping back to let Undyne take it from him he watched as she approached the SOUL only to sigh just as she reached up for it. "Sorry."

"What?" Undyne questioned moments before three blue bones shot out of the ground keeping her from moving as she heard Sans' blasters moments before they all fired on her causing her to scream in pain.

Dropping to her hands and knees she glared up at Sans only to notice him pulling the SOUL towards himself with his magic before sighing.

"I really hope things work out the way they're supposed to Undyne, because at this point…" Sans started as his eye started glowing blue and he formed another blaster. "I've gone way too far to give up on this crazy plan of hers."

Undyne could only watch as the blasters hit her, and she cried out again before collapsing as her body slowly melted before turning into dust.

Sans sighed at that before looking at Chara's SOUL as he closed his eyes. 'I hope this all ends up being worth it… I don't know if I can take much more.'

Walking through Hotland Frisk couldn't help but notice two figures in armor that seemed to be talking as she smiled recalling how they would end up before she turned back to the large building in front of her.

"Dr. Alphys's lab… where it all started." She whispered with a small shudder. "Or I guess above where it all started. I know they're not any different from the others, but they still scare me a little bit."

Shaking her head she walked into the lab only to frown seeing how dark it was before anyone would turn on the lights as she slowly made her way through the lab only to pause seeing a monitor showing her walking as she frowned slightly before hearing a door open as she smiled knowing Dr, Alphys was about to see her.

The lights turned on as the familiar yellow dinosaur monster in a lab coat walked out of a room only to turn to Frisk as her eyes widened.

"Oh. My god." Dr. Alphys whispered starting to panic. "I didn't expect you to show up so soon! I haven't showered, I'm barely dressed, it's all messy, and…"

"It's ok, I don't mind." Frisk interjected with a gentle smile. "It's nice to meet you, my name's Frisk."

"Oh… it's nice to meet you Frisk, my name is Alphys." Dr. Alphys mentioned nervously. "I'm the royal scientist here in the Underground."

"The royal scientist?" Frisk inquired. "That sounds really amazing, what kinds of things do you do?"

"Oh… I don't really do that much, mostly what king Asgore asks me to do… and I…" Dr. Alphys answered hesitantly only for her eyes to widen. "Oh… actually, I've been watching you on your journey. Do you really think you can break the barrier and set everyone free without giving up your SOUL?"

"I am, and I'll do my best to make sure we all reach the surface together." Frisk answered with eyes full of determination.

"Well, if you think it's possible than maybe…" Alphys started just as they heard something bang against a wall causing her eyes to widen. "Oh no!"

"Huh, what was that?" Frisk asked looking at the wall as they heard another bang. 'You really do enjoy dramatic entrances don't you Mettaton?'

"Well, you remember how it would take a power equivalent to seven human SOULS to break the barrier?" Dr. Alphys asked nervously. "Well… one of my creations was a robot to… help with that. He was originally an entertainment robot but…"

At that moment there was a loud crash as a rectangular robot broke through a wall.

"OHHHH YES!" the robot mentioned enthusiastically. "Welcome, beauties… to today's quiz show!"

"A quiz show, that sounds fun." Frisk admitted while Dr. Alphys looked at the robot nervously. "How do I play… oh, what's your name?"

"Two fantastic questions, first my name is Mettaton the Underground's biggest star. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." the robot answered. "And as for the rules of the quiz show, they're simple. Answer correctly, or you die!"

(Frisk has managed to befriend Undyne and has met Dr. Alphys and Mettaton, the latter of whom is about to give her a life-or-death quiz. Meanwhile Sans has finally managed to kill Undyne by taking advantage of Chara's SOUL as a distraction and betraying her at the last moment. Next chapter Frisk will continue her trip through Hotland and Sans will reach Alphys's lab. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
