"Can I help you?" Chara asked as Kaiba stared at her.

"You must be Chara Dreemurr." Kaiba noted. "I've seen the article on your sister Frisk, but ambassador or not I'm not going to let you or anyone else keep me from taking down Pegasus."

"THEN WE HAVE NO NEED TO WORRY HUMAN KAIBA, WE'RE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE." Paoyrus declared with a smile.

"That's true, Frisk and Chara are working to help Yugi rescue his grandfather and we can work together to help save Mokuba." Toriel agreed. "They're nearly qualified to enter…"

"No thanks." Kaiba interrupted bluntly. "I'll be the one to take down Pegasus myself."

"I sort of get where he's coming from Chara, Pegasus kidnapped his brother… I can't even imagine what would happen if…" Frisk started uncertainly.

"I know what you mean Frisk." Chara whispered to her sister before turning to Kaiba. "Look, I know you're worried about your younger brother and losing your company, but we have a better chance if we work together."

"Sorry, but I don't need your help." Kaiba told her causing Joey to glare at him.

"Alright what's your problem rich boy?" Joey glared. "Yugi already beat you in a duel, and to be honest I could do the same thing."

Kaiba turned to him at that. "You're challenging me to a duel? I'd have more of a challenge playing a game of solitaire."

"Oh yeah, then why don't you put your money where your mouth is rich boy." Joey challenged. "We just need to find a field to duel on."

That's when Kaiba put down the briefcase before it opened revealing two discs. "Actually, I've been looking for a guinea pig to test my new Duel Disk system. We can use them to duel."

"A Duel Disk?" Yugi asked in surprised hearing that as Kaiba put one of the disks on his arm and threw the other to Joey.

"A new revolutionary way to duel." Kaiba answered putting the disk on his arm. "Instead of requiring an oversized stadium the holographic projectors are inside the Duel Disk. Since your friend Wheeler is so proud of his skills I'm sure this won't be too complicated for him."

Joey frowned as he put the second Duel Disk on his arm. "Alright, so how does this thing work?"

Kaiba began to explain how the system worked as Chara's eyes widened slightly hearing how advanced it sounded.

"Incredible, and he developed that on his own?" Asgore asked in shock.

"sounds like it." Sans nodded. "he's definitely pretty smart."

"Was that simple enough for you to understand?" Kaiba questioned as he finished explaining how his Duel Disk worked.

"Yeah, I get it Kaiba." Joey told him. "So let's do this."

"DUEL!" Joey and Kaiba called together.

Kaiba 2000 Joey 2000: "I'll go first, so I'll summon my Mystic Horseman in defense mode." Kaiba called throwing his Duel Disk as a centaur holding a scythe appeared while four other cards materialized behind it. "That's all for now."

"Heh, if that's all you've got this will be over in no time." Joey smirked as he placed a card and threw his Duel Disk. "I'll bring out my Axe Raider in attack mode."

A warrior wearing armor holding an axe appeared with four of Joey's cards behind it.

"Now, take down Kaiba's Mystic Horseman!"

"You clearly weren't paying attention; I play my trap card Shadow Spell!" Kaiba called as one of his four cards revealed itself as chains shot out and trapped the Axe Raider. "This trap not only keeps your Axe Raider from attacking but it lowers its attack power by 700 points."

"What?" Joey questioned in shock as he saw that. "Oh man, not good."

"This wasn't even a warm-up for my new Duel Disk system, not that I'm surprised." Kaiba told him as he retracted his Duel Disk before moving his cards. "I won't waste my time with you, come out Blue-eyes White Dragon!"

As Kaiba threw his Duel Disk again this time a white dragon with bright blue eyes appeared roaring.

"That… the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Frisk cried in shock.

"You know it?" Chara asked while staring at the dragon in awe. "It's more powerful than nearly everything we have."

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon was supposed to be the strongest card in Duel Monsters." Frisk answered causing Chara's eyes to widen.

"This was a waste of my time, Blue-Eyes White Dragon wipe out his Axe Raider and every last one of his life points!" Kaiba called as his dragon fired a blast at the Axe Raider destroying it while Joey desperately looked at his hand only to kneel in defeat.

"Joey, are you alright man?" Tristan asked running over to him.

"I've been better." Joey admitted before frowning.

"Listen well Yugi, I'll handle Pegasus myself so just stay out of my way." Kaiba told him before turning to leave just as Chara's bracelet started to glow and Frisk appeared in her place.

"Wait!" Frisk called quickly getting his attention.

Kaiba turned only for his eyes to widen. "What? Where did you come from?"

"That's a long story, but Yugi and the others are right. We need to work together so we can rescue Yugi's grandpa and your brother." Frisk pointed out. "Pegasus is dangerous and he…"

"He has some way of knowing what his opponent's moves will be in a duel, I'm well aware of that." Kaiba interjected. "That's why I invented my Duel Disk system to prevent him from doing that. I'll rescue Mokuba on my own."

With those words he walked off as Frisk frowned.

"Frisk, what are you going to do?" Chara asked her.

"I don't know Chara… I just don't know." Frisk admitted quietly.

(Kaiba has revealed that he developed a new Duel Disk system to try and counter Pegasus and used it to easily defeat Joey in a match. Next chapter Joey will disappear, and the others will try and find him. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
