"Frisk… do you mind waiting for a minute before you keep going?" Alphys requested as they stepped back out to her lab.

Frisk blinked before turning to her. "Is something wrong, I just…"

"Oh, it's nothing like that." Alphys mentioned. "I just… I never actually managed to upgrade your phone."

"I almost forgot." Frisk admitted before pausing and looking down. "Then again, once I see King Asgore and give him my SOUL…"

"You'll get to reunite with your sister, right?" Alphys inquired before closing her eyes. "I know, but it's the least I could do to try and help you."

Hearing that Frisk closed her eyes and nodded. "Ok, thank you Alphys."

Alphys smiled softly before walking to work on upgrading the phone as Frisk closed her eyes.

'Big sis… I have to be close to the king, and then they'll be free and we'll be together again.'

A few minutes passed with the sounds of Alphys working on Frisk's phone before she walked back to her.

"Sorry about that, I don't know if this will be much help but it's the least I can do for you while you're down here." Alphys mentioned returning the phone.

Frisk looked at it before smiling softly. "Thank you."

Alphys nodded as Frisk walked out of the lab only to close her eyes. "I just hope he doesn't take things too far."

Frisk walked along the path out of the lab before reaching two conveyor belts, one moving towards her and the other moving away farther into the underground. "I wonder if Alphys built these, she was really smart."

She smiled at that before stepping on the conveyor belt and closing her eyes while putting her hand over her necklace as she reached the end of the first conveyor belt only to notice a small volcano looking monster approach her.

"You hurt; lava helps." the volcano monster told Frisk as it magically shot some lava towards Frisk with a smile on its face.

Frisk's eyes widened as she quickly moved to the side to avoid the lava. "Huh, what are you doing?"

The volcano monster looked at Frisk in confusion. "Lava helps hurt."

'Lava helps… oh.' Frisks realized before gently shaking her head. "Thank you, that's really nice but I'm not hurt right now."

"Huh?" the volcano monster asked looking at Frisk. "Oh… lava helped?"

"It helped a little, but actually… I'm a human." Frisk admitted. "I was going to see your king so you could all be free." 'And so I can see you again big sis, I'm almost there.'

The volcano monster's eyes widened hearing that. "Human… SOUL?"

"That's right." Frisk nodded. "My SOUL is going to be the last one to break the barrier and set you all free. I'm going to let king Asgore take mine once I reach him."

The volcano monster looked shocked hearing that before looking down. "That… nice. Thank you."

Frisk smiled back before pausing and hugging the volcano monster only to flinch slightly from the heat. "It'll be ok soon."

The volcano monster hugged Frisk back before slowly backing up. "Thank you… human."

Frisk nodded before getting on a second conveyor belt that carried her farther along the path before ending as she took a slow breath and continued following the path only to start hearing jets of steam ahead of her.

"Huh, what's that?" she asked herself only to notice steam coming out of a vent on the ground in front of her with an arrow painted on the vent. "Wait… is that how you keep going to see the king?"

Curious she stepped onto the vent and closed her eyes just as a powerful jet of steam lifted her off her feet and over a gap in the path causing her to cry out fearfully before taking a slow breath and continuing along the path.

"how do you guys think Frisk is doing?" Sans inquired curiously. "think she's having a tough time with any of the puzzles here?"

"OF COURSE NOT." Papyrus answered immediately. "SOMEONE AS KINDHEARTED AS FRISK WILL CERTAINLY HAVE NO DIFFICULTY WITH THE PUZZLES IN HOTLAND AND EVEN IF SHE DID I'M CERTAIN SOMEONE WOULD BE WILILNG TO ASSIST HER."

Sans couldn't help but chuckle at that. "that's true, she definitely didn't seem to be a bonehead like us Papyrus."

"Frisk certainly is a special child." Toriel agreed before looking down and tearing up slightly. "That poor child, there has to be something we can do so she doesn't have to give up her SOUL."

"she lost the most important person in the world to her." Sans admitted. "there's no way for us to know what she went through on the surface but if both of them came here… maybe letting her do this is the nicest thing we can do."

"OF COURSE IT IS." Papyrus declared. "FRISK IS OUR FRIEND SO IT'S ONLY NATURAL WE WOULD BE THERE FOR HER WHEN SHE NEEDS US THE MOST."

Toriel smiled hearing that. "I think you're right, thank you Papyrus."

Papyrus grinned at that as they noticed two members of the royal guard.

"guess those two are the guards Undyne mentioned." Sans said thoughtfully as the three of them walked up to the two guards.

"Captain Undyne told us you needed to use this elevator." one of the guards mentioned.

"THAT'S CORRECT." Papyrus nodded. "THANK YOU VERY MUCH."

The royal guards just nodded before stepping to the side only to pause.

"Wait, you look a bit familiar." the second guard told Toriel.

She closed her eyes. "That's a long story."

The two guards exchanged a glance before nodding as Sans, Papyrus, and Toriel got in the elevator.

(Frisk is continuing to head towards King Asgore's castle and is getting closer to her ultimate destination, meanwhile Sans, Papyrus, and Toriel have arrived in Hotland themselves and are taking an elevator to make sure they're able to support her. Next chapter Frisk will continue through Hotland and meet another resident of the Underground. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
