"Well that could've gone a lot better." Spider-Man thought.

He was currently in an interrogation room, dressed in his red, and blue spider suit, sitting next to red-black haired girl who was looking down. He wasn't feeling much better. The best opportunity he had in weeks to finally nab Roman Torchwick, one of the most wanted criminals in Vale, and he manages to weasel himself away, all thanks to that fire lady he had protecting him. Despite Fire-Lady, Spidey himself even had the redhead next to him helping, and Roman still got away! Not one of his finest moments in his superhero career, especially when Roman's really the only criminal in the whole area who can even begin to challenge him.

Despite how many baddies he's managed to fight at the same time, this clown is the one who bests his capturing? If said baddies were here right now, they'd surely be laughing.

"I hope you both realize that your actions tonight won't be taken lightly. You put yourselves and others in great danger." An older blonde lady tells them.

"They started it!" The redhead protests. "And what about him?! He does this on a daily basis!"

"Well, more of a nightly basis. I typically come out to play at night." Spider-Man replied. The blonde lets out an annoyed sigh and turns to Ruby again. "If it were up to me you'd be sent home with a pat on the back," Ruby perks up at this. "And a slap on the wrist!" Glynda says firmly, ready to lightly slap the top of Ruby's hand with her riding crop. The object however never makes it to the table, thanks to Spider-Man. "Eh, take it easy." he tells her.

The adult, now obviously very annoyed by the arachnid, manages to control herself for the time being and continues, "But there's someone here who would like to meet you. Wait here."

After she leaves the room to go get said person, Ruby decides to try and talk to the spider themed hero next to her. She was pretty nervous around him, not because he scared her, but because she's been a diehard Spidey fan since he started appearing around Vale two months ago. She also had a small celebrity crush on him that she wasn't willing to admit.

How could she not though? He truly was amazing! He brought crime down by 20% since he showed up, fought bad guys everyday, and rescued countless people.

She kept up with all of the News on Spider-Man, like how he stopped an out of control bullhead from crashing into the city by webbing it to several buildings. Or how he rescued all the employees from a Schnee Dust Company facility that was set on fire, presumably by the White Fang. He saved over a hundred lives that night.

How can she not have a celebrity crush on him?!

Before she can say anything, said celebrity breaks the ice and says, "That was some crazy scythe wielding you did back there!"

Ruby starts blushing and shyly says, "T-thanks, my semblance helps with that."

"Aw cool, what would that be?" Spider-Man asks

"I can, uh, move really fast."

Impressed Spider-Man replies, " That explains it. Dang, just about every cute girl I run into either has some crazy ability, or a super-weapon of sorts. You're the first one to have both!" His comment causes Ruby to blush heavily now.

Wanting to change the subject before she can embarrass herself any further, she nervously holds out her hand and introduces herself. "Ruby Rose."

He shakes it and replies, "Spider-Man, Webhead extraordinaire."

Continuing the conversation, she mentions, "Oh! I also ran into the guy who takes your pictures for VNN back at the shop."

"Who, Parker? Yeah, he's a good kid. Always manages to get my good side, which I'm very thankful for." replies Spidey.

Ruby looks a bit confused at this. "Kid? Aren't you like around the same age?"

"Probably. Was he on the prowl for more Spidey action there?"

Shaking her head she goes, "No, he was just reading a dust weapons magazine, to get some inspiration for a project he said he was working on."

"The kid's training to be a huntsman? Now who's gonna take my photos?! If they gotta replace him, they better get someone just as good!"

Ruby blushes again as she looks down and tells him, "I-I think you'll look good no matter what."

Before Spidey can say anything else The blonde from earlier walks in with a new person. He's an older man, showing it with his silver hair, holding a plate of cookies and a coffee mug.

"Ruby Rose." the silver-haired man begins, "You… have silver eyes." Ruby's not really sure what to make of the man's comment and sits there a bit dumbfounded, until Spider-Man says "And reddish-black hair, a killer scythe gun, cute face…"

Everyone pauses and stares at him for a moment with Ruby turning red yet again. "What?" he states. "I thought we were doing observations. Anyone wanna do me?"

Ruby snickers a bit at this, while the older man gives a small smile at the teen's antics, but Glynda just sighs again, almost like she's used to his behavior already, but doesn't enjoy it. Continuing, the man asks, "So, where did you learn to do this?"

Ruby nervously replies, "S-signal academy."

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?"

"Well, one teacher in particular." Ruby continues.

"I see…" the man says as he puts down the cookie plate in front of Ruby. She hesitantly grabs a cookie, then quickly starts stuffing her mouth full of them.

Before her mouth gets too full, she offers one to Spider-Man. "You fwant fone?"

Spidey chuckles at this as he shoots a webline to the cookie and takes it in his hand. "I am never one to turn down free food!" He then partially lifts up his mask and starts munching. Ruby failingly pretends not to care as she quickly turns her head forward and tries to look at his exposed lower face from the corner of her eye.

The older man continues, "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty old crow."

"Mmhmm, thash muh unkul!" Ruby replies, mouth full of sweets. The man seems to be annoyed at this. Seeing his distaste she finishes what's in her mouth and continues, "Sorry, that's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal!"

"Sounds like he needs a bath." Spidey jokes. Ruby lets out a small giggle at his quip with the older man ready to get back to the point.

"I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now I'm all like, Hoowahh-Watcha!"

Thankful his mask hides his blushing face Spider-Man can't help but think, "I swear, this girl just keeps on getting cuter and cuter!"

"So I've noticed." The old man says, slightly amused. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"

"Now that I think about it, Ruby don't really seem like someone who would be as deadly skilled as she is. Then again, no one would think someone as nerdy as me would be who I am." thinks Spider-Man.

"Well" Ruby replies, "I want to be huntress."

"You want to slay monsters?"

"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a huntress, and I'm trying to become a huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, 'Hey, I might as well make a career out of it!' I mean the police are alright, but huntsmen and huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting, and cool, and really, gosh, you know?!"

The adults in the room just stare at her for a bit until the man asks, "Do you know who I am?"

"You're Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster of Beacon."

"Hello."

"Nice to meet you!"

"You want to come to my school?"

"More than anything." Ruby wistfully says.

Ozpin steals a glance at the blonde, who just gives a hmph, and says, "Well, ok." Ruby's eyes get wide as she receives the news of being allowed to attend her dream school two years early.

"Now, please, Glynda here will show you the way out. I'm afraid I need a few words with our arachnid friend here."

Ruby glances at Spider-Man who just says, "Have fun at monster college, send me a postcard!" as Glynda leads her out.

"Oh wait! I didn't get his auto-" she tries to say before Glynda closes the door on her.

Once Ruby is led out of the room, Ozpin turns his attention to the teen hero across from him. "So you had quite an eventful night didn't you?"

"Yeah I'm just upset I didn't nab the little Clockwork Orange wannabe. Of all the guys I've gone against, he's the one who consistently manages to get away? It wounds my spider-pride."

"You know you could have called one of us Peter."

Glynda chastises as she walks back into the room. "Maybe if you'd done that, tonight's events would have turned out much more different."

Taking his mask off, Spider-Man reveals to be a brown haired teen with a beauty mark under his left eye, stained with soot from his fight.

"Yeah, I know. Still not entirely used to doing my spidering with others, let alone them being aware of it at all."

"You did what you could in an unexpected situation." Ozpin comforts Peter. "But you still should've tried to inform us without Glynda finding out on her own. If she didn't arrive when she did, you could have had some...serious injuries."

Peter remembers how he was bracing himself to shield Ruby in his arms from Fire-Lady's fire blasts before his acting guardian had arrived. Needless to say, she wasn't happy about the situation he found himself in.

"Such as comes with the territory" he replies.

Recalling how the past year of being Spider-Man had clearly taken its toll on the young man's body, Glynda gets a concerned look on her face. "Such as we're trying to minimize Peter."

Both Ozpin and Glynda freshly remember first meeting the teen two months ago. They had found him in his bizarre costume in the Forever Fall, unconscious and injured. They quickly took him to Beacon's medical ward, before any Grimm could get to him. After removing his mask and the upper part of his suit to treat his injuries, it was obvious to them that whoever this teen was, he had been in a lot of dangerous fights over the years. That was the biggest surprise to them, that this was some teenager with all this obvious experience, who for whatever reason was in the middle of a dangerous forest. Ozpin looked as if he saw a ghost when the teen's face was revealed, but what that reason was, Glynda didn't know.

Once the teen finally woke, they had to try and calm him down when he immediately realized he wasn't wearing his mask, which he was very upset about. Once he stopped freaking out, they started questioning him, like what he was doing in a heavily Grimm infested area. They thought he might be suffering from partial amnesia when he had no idea what a Grimm was. He thought they were talking about some kind of skeletal ghost he called 'The Grim Reaper'. A quick medical examination proved his brain was working perfectly fine. This surprised them even more when he didn't recognize what Vale was, including Remnant itself. When Ozpin made a comment about him knowing nothing of the world, they saw the young man's eyes get wide as he apparently remembered something of importance.

He asked if they ever heard of Places like America, New York, Midtown, or even a group of heroes called the Avengers. When they replied that they never heard of such things, he told them of his last memory. Apparently a group of his enemies calling themselves the Sinister Six, (these people the teen was associated with seemed to have a fondness for group names) tried to steal some kind of particle accelerator to use to make weapons. He had arrived to stop them, but things took a turn for the worse when one of them named Electro caused the machine to go haywire. Spider-Man had tried to get everyone out of the building and regain control of the particle accelerator, but it exploded in a flash of multi-colored lights. The next thing he knows, he's lying in a hospital bed. Coming to the conclusion that he was in another world, he almost starts to freak out again wondering how he'd get back.

If it wasn't for the ID he carried his backpack, which showed a residence for a non-existent place, or the fact that he evidently wasn't delusional, Ozpin and Glynda might have not believed him. Knowing he couldn't just leave a child to fend for himself in a new unknown world, Ozpin offered to help Spider-Man. While he knew they had no way of getting him back home, the teen was instead offered help to rebuild his life here in Remnant. But first, he wanted to know more about this teen. Slowly realizing his options were extremely limited, he told them everything. That his name was Peter Parker, how he got his powers at fifteen, and why he became a superhero, though leaving out his Uncle's death, and just stating that he did something very bad, but learning through it that "with great power comes great responsibility."

Hearing his story Ozpin then went to work to convince Peter to stay with them at Beacon, and train to become a huntsman. He'd be able to get accustomed to their world, enter a profession that would suit him very well, and still be able to continue to be Spider-Man, at least for the time being. Deciding that it beat being homeless and alone, along with having the necessary help to live out his new life on this world, Peter agreed.

Glynda though never completely approved of allowing a child to continue fighting very dangerous individuals, even if he did do that everyday back home from what he told them. Ozpin pointed out however that it seemed like they wouldn't be able to stop Peter from doing something that was clearly incredibly important to him unless they imprisoned the teen. A fate neither of them were willing to subject the teen to.

Fast-forward to the present and Peter's back in his temporary room, sitting at his desk. He used what he learned from the dust magazine he enthusiastically read and was currently applying it to the weapon he was creating.

"Guess the night wasn't a total bust. Still, wish we could've gotten Roman." he thought, then remembered the conversation he was having with Ruby as Peter Parker back at the dust shop. Realizing they were both after the same magazine the shop had, started talking about weapons. He was really enjoying talking to such a cute girl, only for his watch alarm to go off, signifying that he had to leave to catch a bus. Grabbing a different issue of the same magazine, He then headed to the cash register, only to return a few minutes later as Spider-Man when he heard gunfire.

"Not only that, but I finally meet a super pretty girl I actually have some common ground with, only to have to leave abruptly to not break Glynda's curfew! Parker luck's still as kind as ever!"

Glynda had insisted Peter stick to a strict curfew in order to keep him safe whenever he left Beacon. Or as safe one can be when fighting criminals. "Just like Aunt May."

Starting to feel homesick for earth, Peter quickly tries to think about something else. "No, don't go there Parker! You don't need anymore reminders that you're not gonna be going back. This is home now."

He dove himself into his weapon to try and drive back his sad a good while. Still ignoring his feelings, just as he's putting the finishing touches on his weapon, he hears someone knocking on his door. "Come in."

Glynda Goodwitch comes in, checking on Peter.

"It's one in the morning Peter, you need to get some sleep."

"Yeah, I know. Was finishing up this thing right here, finally got down the dust propulsion I was working on." Amazed that Peter had mastered dust after such a short time in Remnant she asks, "What do you call it?"

Peter looks nostalgically at his weapon, thinking back to some of the heroes he most admired back home and says, "I think I'll call it… the Onyx Avenger."
