"Alright, it's go time!" Peter thought as he excitedly went to get his weapons in his locker. He hadn't gone out as Spider-Man since his run-in with Torchwick, so he was antsy for some action. Glynda wouldn't let him go out, telling him that he needed to be in his best condition for Beacon's initiation. Luckily, he spent that time fine-tuning Onyx Avenger. Unfortunately, he hadn't gotten a chance to actually test out the dust propulsion he spent so much time on, due to another project he gave himself.

"Well, hot stuff, play your cards right and maybe you could join up with the winning team."

Peter then looked to his side and saw Jaune apparently trying to hit on and recruit some girls at the same time.

"Aw this looks like a painful mirror." Thinking back to the few times he tried asking out girls back home.

Weiss then asks, "Jaune, is it? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"

"Not in the slightest, snow angel."

"Dang, is this how I sound?" Peter thought. "I can understand then why my quips get the bad guys so angry."

"This is Pyrrha." Weiss continues explaining.

"Hello again!" She cheerfully says.

"She graduated top of her class at Sanctum!" Weiss said, now getting increasingly frustrated.

"Never heard of it" Jaune states.

Scoffing, Weiss informs, "She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row! A new record!"

"The what?"

Now finally fed up she yells, "She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!"

Jaune then loudly gasps and shouts, "That's you?!"

"Are you talking about that sugary poison they call cereal?" Peter asks.

Pyrrha laughs, looks at Peter and says, "Yeah, it was pretty cool. Sadly, like you said, the cereal isn't very good for you."

"You're telling me! I could barely finish a spoonful of that stuff, it was way too sweet, I thought I was gonna be sick!" Peter replies.

Pyrrha laughs again and says with a smile, "I don't believe I got your name. As you probably already heard, I'm Pyrrha Nikos!"

"Peter Parker!" he replies.

"Wait, the same Peter Parker who photographs Spider-Man?"

"Seriously? Is that all I'm gonna be known for?"

"Yeah, that'd be me! Seems everyone I meet knows about the side hustle!"

"Well, yeah! You're one of the only people who's managed to get a decent picture of the guy! It's made you a bit famous! How'd you even get those shots? It looked like they were from some pretty difficult areas!" Pyrrha asks.

"..."

"I'm a very good photographer."

Interrupting Weiss turns to Jaune, "Anyway, after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?"

"I guess not." Jaune says, feeling down and inferior. "Sorry…"

Seeing his mood, Pyrrha tells him, "Actually, Jaune, I think you'd make a great leader!"

Immediately having his mood improved Jaune says, "D'oh, stop it!"

Not convinced of his leadership abilities, Weiss says to Pyrrha, "Seriously, please stop it. This kind of behavior should not be encouraged!"

"Sounds like Pyrrha's on board for Team Jaune. Spots are filling up quick!" Jaune said, getting closer to Weiss. "Now, I'm not supposed to do this, but maybe I could pull some strings, find a place for you. What do you say?"

Feeling creeped out, the girl in white says to him, "All right, that's a bit too close! Pyrrha, a little help, please?!"

Seeing that Phyrra was about to chuck her spear at Jaune, Peter quickly moves, grabbing the spear and stopping it before it makes contact with his friend.

"If you wanted space, all you had to do was ask! You didn't need to try and impale the guy!"

Feeling embarrassed, Pyrrha apologizes. "Sorry! It was kind of a reflex!"

"Some reflexes! Save that for the Grimm!" Peter explains as he hands Pyrrha back her spear.

Glynda's voice then comes on the intercom and states, "Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately."

Weiss and Pyrrha then start heading over to the site of the initiation, with Pyrrha looking back at Jaune and shouting, "It was nice meeting you!"

"Likewise…" he sighs, slumping to the ground.

"Having some trouble there, lady-killer?" Yang asks as she and Ruby approach.

"I don't understand. My dad said all women look for is confidence!" Jaune says as Ruby helps him up. "Where did I go wrong?"

"'Snow Angel' probably wasn't the best start." Yang replies.

"If it makes you feel better, you did better than I would have with a girl!" Peter tells him.

Yang, knowing that's not really true asks, "Didn't you have a conversation with Ruby a few nights ago that lasted for like, hours? Not to mention those arms you like to hide would definitely hold a girl's attention!"

Looking away as he turned slightly red, Peter replied, "Well, at least if that girl was Weiss. She is not as appreciative of my style of humor as the rest of you."

A bit red herself, Ruby quickly says, "Come on guys, let's go."

Once all the students are present at the cliff, each standing on what seemed to be some kind of tile, Ozpin begins his speech.

"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

Glynda continues, "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today."

"Thought as much." Peter says comments.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

"Are you serious?! The old man didn't tell me all that!" Peter asked Ozpin days before what the academy initiation was like, to which he only said, 'It's a proven test to evaluate our potential students to the best of their ability.'

"WHAAATTT!" Peter heard Ruby shout.

"Doesn't seem like she's taking the news so well either."

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest." The professor continues speaking. "You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die." A gulp then is heard next to Peter.

"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

Jaune then nervously raises his hand and asks, "Yeah, um, sir?"

"Good! Now, take your positions."

All the students get ready for launch as the poor blonde is ignored.

"I feel you man, wasn't really expecting to be catapulted into a dangerous forest of death and evil here either." Peter says to Jaune, trying to calm him down.

Peter's quip didn't really seem to work. "Uh, sir? I've got, um…a question." Jaune desperately tries to ask. "So, this landing... strategy thing…Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?"

"No. You will be falling."

Jaune, not noticing other students being flung off the cliff, tries to understand what the headmaster is saying, "Oh, uh, I see... So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?"

"No. You will be using your own landing strategy."

"OK, you're just in denial at this point if you haven't figured it out yet."

"Uh-huh... Yeah."

Right before he's about to be launched, Jaune tries one last time to find out what's going on. "So, what exactly is a landing strategggyyyy!"

Knowing he's next, Peter glances at Ozpin and Glynda, activates Onyx Avenger, smiles and only says, "Tallyhoe!" Then allows himself to be hurled into the air.

After landing in a crouch, Ruby runs through the forest hoping to find her sister. "Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find- Yang! Yaaang!" She yells. Continuing her thoughts, she thinks to herself, "Oh, this is bad, this is really bad. What if I can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune. He's nice. He's funny! I don't think he's very good in a fight though. Ooh! What about Blake? So mysterious, so calm, Plus she likes books! Then again I'm not sure I'd be able to hold a conversation with her. There's also Peter! He likes weapons almost as much as I do! He's also funny, real witty, he's apparently got really honed reflexes! … And he's muscular… and kinda cute…"

Ripping her away from her inner monologue is Weiss, stopping right in front of her, and making eye contact. Weiss stands there for a few seconds, then immediately turns away and walks in the opposite direction.

"Wait! Where are you going?!" Ruby then looks down sadly and kicks at the ground. "We're supposed to be teammates…"

The heiress then wanders around the forest for a bit, and comes into a clearing, then looks up seeing a stuck Jaune, trying to free himself from the spear that impaled his hoodie to a tree. He looks down and gives an awkward smile and waves.

Deciding that even the girl she found childishly annoying would be better than him, Weiss makes her way back to Ruby.

"By no means does this make us friends."

"You came back!" Ruby joyfully shouts as Weiss drags her away.

"WAHOOO!" Peter shouts as falls.

"Guess it's a good a time as ever to see if I managed to effectively recreate Stark's repulsor blasts!" He thinks as he prepares to test the most complex aspect of Onyx Avenger.

Positioning his arms in front of himself downwards, he activates the dust-powered repulsor, which lets out a small whirring sound, then sends out a great stream of highly focused energy, quickly turning it off, slowing himself down to make a safe landing.

"All right it worked! A bit too well!" He said, believing the repulsors were much stronger than he realized. "Now I gotta find some people in need of a friendly neighborhood huntsman! … Sounds weird saying that out loud."

Peter then hears growling behind him and finds a group of five Boarbatusks surrounding him.

"Hey don't judge me, I was only talking to myself, and I agree, it sounded funny!"

With no response, the largest one stands by while the others curl up into a ball and start charging at him.

Peter only grins and yells, "Showtime!"

Flipping over one and jumping off of it with a devastating kick that disintegrates it, Peter then unsheathes the blades in his weapon, and starts pummeling the unlucky grimm in front of him. As soon as he downs the one in front, the other ones try to rush him from behind, but feeling his spider-sense go off, spins on his heel and slashes at the two of them, jumps, and gives a scissor kick, bringing down both of the grimm at once. Knowing that the last one is still watching him, apparently the alpha, he looks back, and sees it beginning to charge him like the first one. Deciding to test Onyx Avenger's offensive capabilities, Peter braces for the kickback, activates the repulsors to their full power, aims at the monster, and fires.

Not really knowing the full destructive capacity of his repulsors, due to not having tested them before, caused Peter to get surprised, seeing that he not only obliterated the Boarbatusk, but also the boulder, and well, pretty much everything else that was behind it.

He only stood there dumbfounded for a really long time, only breaking his silence to say to himself, "I really should have done a test run before putting these on."

From a distance that was a bit far off, Weiss was frustrated that she was lost as Ruby was sitting on the ground, plucking at the grass.

Ruby was slightly annoyed as well, with Weiss walking around in circles, not getting any closer to where they needed to go. "Why can't you just admit that you have no idea where we're going?"

"Because I know exactly where we're going! We're going to... the forest temple!" Weiss says, trying to convince herself that she's in control of the situation.

Ruby just lets out a frustrated sigh at this.

"Oh, stop it! You don't know where we are, either!

"Well, at least I'm not pretending like I know everything!"

Now with her anger stoked, the girl in white asks, "What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means you're a big, stupid jerk and I hate you!" Ruby huffs.

Weiss, still frustrated as ever, shouts, "Just keep moving!"

"Oh, just keep moving! Hurry up! Waaaah! Watch where you're going!" Ruby mocks. "Why are you so bossy?"

Not appreciating the compliment, Weiss retorts, "I'm not bossy! Don't say things like that!"

Feeling like her partner was being condescending, Ruby yells, "Stop treating me like a kid!"

"Stop acting like a kid!"

"Well, stop acting like you're perfect!"

"I'm. Not. Perfect! Not yet…" Weiss says, but still feeling Ruby needs to be put in her place continues, "But I'm still leagues better than you."

Feeling hurt by that comment, Ruby sadly states, "You don't even know me…"

As soon as she says that, a giant cone of fiery energy is seen by the duo off in the distance. Curious about what that was, and knowing it undoubtedly had to be a fellow student, Ruby runs towards it yelling behind her, "Come on, let's go see what that was!"

"What? No! Get Back here!" Weiss shouts. Knowing her unwanted partner wasn't listening, she groans and runs after her.

Once they get close to the site of the explosion, sounds of fighting are heard nearby.

Cautiously going over to the noises, the girls see Peter, fighting off a pack of Beowolves.

Doing a midair front-flip, the teen drops a harsh kick down on the skull of one, instantly destroying it, then, as if he could sense it was nearby, he spins to his left, and releases a quick shot from his dust repulsor to end it. Before he can start hacking at the last one with one of his blades, Ruby fires off a dust round, which sends the monster back a good distance in a heap, which Peter lunges after to finish the job. With the current grimm now defeated, he turns and sees the two girls.

"Ruby! You made it ok! And Icee! You're looking well!"

Ruby was more than happy to meet one of the few friends she had at Beacon, while Weiss was less than enthusiastic.

"Oh great, it's the Jester!"

Peter only grins and points with finger guns at her, "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men."

Weiss sighs in response while Ruby ignores her statement and asks, "That explosion was you?!"

Peter laughs a bit sheepishly and says, "Yeah, it was that dust propellent thing I told you about. Didn't really get a chance to test it out yet, so it evidently needs a bit of calibration…"

"That was extremely reckless of you, we don't need another forest fire!" Weiss lectures, aiming that last bit at Ruby.

"Not gonna lie, that's a fair point, only happens though if I hold down on the repulsor, so I'll only be doing quick shots."

Weiss was a bit surprised at that, not expecting Peter to actually take responsibility like that and admit his mistake.

"So, please tell me I'm not the only one who's been lost for longer than they want to admit."

"Nope! We've been in the boat for a long time too!"

Looking around, trying to get his bearings for the thousandth time that day, Peter then turns to Ruby and asks, "So what do you suggest we do?"

The group then hears a loud screech. Looking up, they all see a Nevermore in the sky. Seeing the look in Ruby's face as well, Peter can get an idea about what she's going to suggest.

"No, bad idea."

Ruby looking disappointed goes, "It would get us to the temple quickly!"

Peter, not wanting to become another spider who's fallen victim to a bird's lunch says, "True, but we don't even know where that is exactly, not to mention I don't think any of us know how to steer grimm, not that they'd even be willing." Suddenly remembering something Ozpin said about the temple, Peter adds, "Wait didn't Oz say that the temple's north?"

"Well that'd be helpful if we knew where North was." Weiss replies.

"Well you've clearly never had the misadventure of summer camp have you? Cause using the sun, all one has to do is remember Never Eat Soggy Waffles to find north, since the sun rises in the east, but sets in the west, annnnndd!" Peter looks toward the sun.

"...It's apparently noon."

Ruby groans. "Back to square one."

"Well good thing summer camp taught me another trick!" Peter then starts climbing a tree to get a better view of his surroundings. "Learned this one escaping a bully. Good thing Kenny couldn't climb trees. Packed a mean punch though."

Even without using his 'stick em powers', climbing was extremely easy for Peter, thanks to his spider-strength. Also utilizing his enhanced eyesight, he scans the forest for anything that looks like a temple.

"Find anything?" Ruby asks the brown haired teen.

"Uh, unless someone's weird oversized chess game and a few pillars are what Ozzy meant when he said temple, nothing."

Weiss, eager to leave and get the ordeal over with, immediately says, "That's a good a lead as any."

"Off to the chess game we go!" Ruby gleefully shouts.

Back at the temple, Yang and her new partner Blake had already reached it and gotten their relics, until they started hearing something in the bushes, coming from behind.

"Blake, did you hear that? What should we do?"

Suddenly both girls hear some kind of whirring sound, like something being charged up, then a big blast breaks from the tree line, revealing to be Ruby, Weiss, and Peter after the dust clears.

"That was so cool!" Ruby excitedly says.

"And unnecessary." Weiss complains, not enjoying the debris falling around her.

"Yeah, but like I said, I'm really gonna need to calibrate the output of the repulsors, it's got much more of a kick than I thought it would."

"Did your sister's friend just blow up that tree with his hand?"

Right after she says that, Jaune comes flying through the sky.

Landing in a tree, dazed and upside down, but mostly unharmed, he meekly says, "Hey Peter."

"Yo."

Adding to the growing roster was a loud "YEEEE-HAAAAW!", coming from another direction.

Out of the woods came an orange-haired girl using a large Ursa as her own personal horse, being steered by dust blasts. Once the beast finally started dying from being used in such a way, she sadly looked at it and said, "Aw, it's broken.", as her friend exhaustedly followed from behind.

Seeing that the newcomer girl had arrived on an ursa, Peter tells Ruby, "Guess I was wrong, maybe taking a grimm wouldn't have been such a bad idea."

"Told you!" She responds, sticking her tongue at him.

"Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?"

As a final surprise, Pyrrha comes in, running from a Deathstalker grimm chasing her, but seeing Jaune, she shouts his name as he goes, "Pyrrha!"

"Oh it had to be a roided version of Mac, didn't it?!" Peter thought, the scorpion grimm reminding him of one of his rouges, the Scorpion.

After Pyrrha arrives, Yang sees Ruby running over to her and shouts, "Ruby!"

"Yang!", getting ready to hug her older sister.

Popping in between them to their surprise is the orange girl saying, "Nora!"

Noticing that the Deathstalker is still following Pyrrha, Blake asks, "Did she just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?"

Yang, now frustrated at the weirdness of the whole scene yells, "I can't take it anymore! Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!"

Suddenly, Jaune finally frees himself from the tree, screaming, landing falt on his back to the ground, but with Weiss sarcastically saying, "What a hero."

"My back. Ahk! My back!"

"I can't be sure, but there's something very familiar about all this." Peter thinks before Pyrrha lands at their feet from the Deathstalker.

"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!" Yang jokes.

"Love the enthusiasm!" Peter claps back.

"Not if I can help it!" Ruby confidently says as she yells and charges at the giant scorpion.

"Ruby, wait!" Yang and Peter shout.

Ruby ignores them and continues with her battle cry as she fires off rounds at the grimm. Once she's close enough, the grimm knocks her back with its claws. "D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!"

She keeps trying to take the monster down, shooting at its skull but not being very effective, sheaths her weapon to run away.

Yang runs after her and shouts "Ruby!"

Preventing them from meeting is the Nevermore, which shoots out its feathers, one of which impales Ruby's cape.

"Ruby, get out of there!" Yang yells after her sister.

"I'm trying!" She responds, trying to remove her cape from the feather.

Seeing his first friend in this world in danger, Peter runs forward to help, but sees that the Deathstalker might beat him to it.

Seeing that the scorpion was now close enough to impale the girl with its stinger, Peter yells her name again, only for something white to shoot off past him before even the Deathstalker makes contact with Ruby.

"You are so childish!"

To everyone's shock, the stinger which was about to get the girl in red is now frozen in ice, thanks to her partner.

"Weiss?"

Weiss continues her speech. "And dim-witted, and hyperactive, and don't even get me started on your fighting style. And I suppose I can be a bit... difficult. But if we're going to do this, we're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off, I'll be... nicer."

"I'm not trying to show off. I want you to know I can do this."

"You're fine." Weiss says as she walks away.

"Yeah, everybody makes mistakes." Peter says as he effortlessly rips the nevermore feather out of the ground, much to the surprise of the girls.

Ruby gives a relieved sigh as she closes her eyes and whispers, "Normal knees…" But sees the monster still trying to get out and goes, "Whoa!"

Yang then goes over to Ruby and hugs her a bit roughly, saying, "So happy you're okay!"

Their reunion is cut short when the Nevermore shrieks again and with the Deathstalker starting to get free.

"Guys?" Jaune says. "That thing's circling back! What are we gonna do?"

"Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us." Weiss informs.

Agreeing, Ruby says "She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs. There's no point in fighting these things."

"Run and live, that's an idea I can get behind!"

"As long as said things allow that." Peter says.

Everyone who didn't have one yet then grabs a relic and sees that the Deathstalker is nearly freed.

"Time we left!" Nora's partner shouts.

"Right. Let's go!" Ruby responds, leading the others away.

Yang looks at her sister for a bit, with a proud look on her face, prompting Blake to ask, "What is it?"

"Nothing."

Seeing what she was looking at causes Blake to smile as well, then heads out with the others.

Once they finally exit the forest, the group sees that the Nevermore from earlier followed them, which perches itself on top of one the pillars of the ruins surrounding the area as it lets out a shriek.

"Well that's great!" Yang says sarcastically.

The situation gets greater as the Deathstalker also reveals itself, seemingly focusing on Peter once it bursts through the trees.

"I get it, natural enemies and what not." Peter thinks, knowing that the spider's natural predator is the scorpion.

"Ah, man, run!" Jaune shouts.

With the monster looking like it has a bone to pick with the arachnid, causing him to take it personally, Peter yells to his fellow students, "You all deal with big bird there, I'll keep the Deathstalker busy!"

Ruby getting concerned for her friend, shouts back, "Peter I already tried doing that by myself, it's a bad-"

She doesn't get to finish as Peter already was rushing at the grimm and then unleashes a crushing punch to its face, cracking its boney hide while temporarily blinding it. The creature even stumbled back a good distance.

"-idea"

Everyone is flabbergasted at Peter's display of strength, with Weiss asking, "Is that his semblance?"

"It has to be." Yang replies. "Guess those arms weren't just for show."

After getting the Nevermore's attention off of them with her grenade launcher, Nora's partner shouts, "We gotta help him!" They then both go and prepare to help Peter as he expertly dodges the Deatstalker's stinger.

Nora turns her weapon into its hammer mode and smashes the scorpion's head, with her friend unleashing a flurry of dust rounds on it right after.

"Hey guys, decided to pop in and join in? Good cause this guy hasn't been the most fun to be around!" Peter jokes as he's trying to wrangle the stinger.

Pyrrha also shoots at it from afar, shouting at everyone to get to the bridge. Soon after she yells that, the Nevermore circles back, and smashes a section of the bridge, dividing Peter, Pyrrha, and the black haired guy who was with Nora from the rest of the group.

Seeing that the now crumbling bridge couldn't handle the weight of a monster, who was starting to push them closer to the edge, Peter races to it, slides underneath, and grabs its tail by the base of its stinger, and runs with it, dragging it away from his friends. After getting a good distance away, Peter tries to pin down its tail as best he can, without revealing his powers, and looks over to see Nora flying in with Jaune on her hammer.

Once they arrive Nora yells, "And SMASH!" and throws her hammer down.

Getting an idea, Jaune tells the group, "Guys, keep hitting at that thing, Peter keep holding the tail down!"

"Roger, Roger!"

Jaune shields the others from the pincers, while Pyrrha and the only other male start dealing damage. Pyrrha throws her spear into its face, landing it right in the, causing it to squeal. The green dressed guy uses that as an opportunity to take out its feeble-looking legs by shooting and hacking at it with his submachine guns.

This caused the beast to lash out even further, swinging one of its pincers towards Nora's friend, sending him flying.

"Ren!"

"Dude! Oh, so that's his name."

With Peter distracted, the Deathstalker manages to get its tail out of Peter's grasp, but at the cost of its stinger. Thanks to Peter's strength, the stinger was hanging by a thread, which Jaune thought was a good new weak point.

"Pyrrha!"

"Done!"

The girl then swings her shield at the stinger severing it, causing it to land on itself.

"Cap would be proud." Peter thought as he helps Ren to his feet.

"Nora, nail it!"

"Heads up!"

Nora, using Pyrrha's shield as a launch pad, catapults herself into the air with her hammer, giggles as she's midair, and slams down with it, nearly killing the monster.

Seeing how it wasn't dead yet, Peter then looks over to the others with Ruby, who seemed to be trying some kind of trap with the monster, but were having trouble getting the monster where they wanted.

Coming up with a plan, Peter tells the others, "Leap off, I'm gonna throw it!"

"WHAT?!" Shouts Pyrrha as everyone gets off. "Can you do that?!"

Peter grabs the tail, lifts the Deathstalker as he spins around, and yells, "YYEPPP!"

After letting go, the airborne grimm slams into the Nevermore, getting disintegrated, which at the same time sends the Nevermore into the cliff wall.

The girls, despite being surprised, waste no time, slingshot Ruby to the grimm, who adds to her momentum by firing off dust rounds, catches the Nevermore's neck with her scythe, then using Weiss's glyphs, runs along the cliffside, continuing to use dust rounds to speed herself up, until she decapitates the bird.

Seeing the impressive feat, Jaune goes, "Wow…"

Ren then asks Peter, "Couldn't you have done that sooner?"

"Lapse in thinking."

"Well, that was a thing!"

"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR."

Nora then excitedly hugs a surprised Ren, with Ozpin continuing.

"Led by, Jaune Arc!"

"Huh? L-Led by?!"

"Congratulations, young man."

"I'm sure he'll do good if Ozzy sees potential in him." Peter thinks as Pyrrha gives him a shoulder bump, which causes him to fall down on his rear to everyone's amusement.

Ozpin then moves on to the next group of people, "Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!"

Weiss is in shock as is Ruby, only for Yang to hug her sister in congratulations.

"And finally, Peter Parker."

Peter then walks onto the stage, where Ozpin informs, "I can see that you are left without any kind of piece."

"Yeah, didn't see any, so I just thought maybe something was missing from your chess game back there. Not really familiar with the thing, so I don't know."

The man chuckles lightly at Peter's humor and says, "As it is, we have an odd number of students this year. But instead of simply sending away such a promising young huntsmen, you will be something of a lone wolf."

At Peter's confused look, Ozpin explains, "What I mean by that is you will be put with an existing team to dorm with and take part in team building assignments. However, for team based tournaments and battles, you will be on your own. I trust you are alright with this?"

Peter puts his hands in his pockets and replies, "Yeah, sounds good to me. Who am I gonna be with?"

Ozpin gives a smile and tells him, "It's been decided team RWBY is who you should be placed with. Are there any objections to this?"

The girls smile at this, especially Ruby, except Weiss who only glares and turns her head away.

Not hearing any complaints, Yang says, "I think we'll be fine!"

"Then it's final! Peter Parker, you will be placed with team RWBY for the remainder of your time here at Beacon!"

He could see that both parties but one individual seemed really happy with the decision. Looks like he made the right choice putting Peter on the team with the girl he seemed to be getting an increasing attachment to.

Peter gives a smile and thumbs up to the team that accepted him, while Ozpin remarks under his breath, "It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year."

That night, in a warehouse serving as an HQ for his criminal empire, Roman Torchwick is having a smoke after he gets a new shipment of dust as he examines a map. The map shows various locations, with a tidbit of info around each, and black X's put in quite a few areas, symbolizing foiled robberies and any other failed task that was set out to accomplish. Each one was stopped by none other than Spider-Man, who Roman far too late realized was one of the biggest threats to business. When he first heard of the wall-crawler, he didn't even think the kid was real, just a lame excuse for incompetent underlings. It was only after the same person described as before kept being reported to be the reason so many dust robberies, among other things, were failing that he took the costumed man seriously.

Whoever this person was, despite having a motor mouth that constantly cracked jokes, was skilled in a way only a fairly experienced huntsman would be. He soon learned that this, 'Spider-Man', as he called himself, was apparently a teen, doubtless a Faunus. This only poured salt on the wound. How could one costumed kid playing hero do more against his operations than even the entire Vale police could?! Glaring at the newspaper photo of the hero, paperclipped to the map, Roman says to himself, "We're gonna need more men."

He then gets out his scroll to make a call. When he gets an answer, he tells the person on the line, "Get in touch with our good friend Junior. Tell him we need to borrow the twins." As he hangs up, he puts out his cigar on the photo grinning.
