Still unconscious, Menma could do nothing to avoid the sharp gusts of wind that swooped down on her and slammed into the area with enough force to kick up a cloud of dust. Seeing her opponent disappear under her attacks, the pokemon let out a battle cry, testifying to her victory. However, quickly remembering the "spectator" of her fight, he turned her gaze to Kalgara. However, she was surprised not to see him on his branch anymore.
" Skar ? "
Beginning to turn her head in search of him, the metal bird finally saw the cloud of dust disappear. And what was her surprise when she saw that Menma was still on the ground, while none of the gusts of wind had managed to touch her. Indeed, having positioned himself in front of her, Kalgara had twirled his combat spear and had let each of the attacks hit his weapon, without succeeding in destroying it.
" Skarmory ? "
Showing a wicked smile, while licking his teeth, the Shandian affirmed.
"Now that this fight is over, I can finally have fun."
Still surprised, the pokemon nevertheless ends up dropping towards Kalgara, before covering her body with blue flames.
Skarmory use BRAVE BIRD.
Acknowledging the attack that had defeated Menma, Kalgara simply covered his weapon with a metallic gray coating, before jumping towards her. Then, a shock wave created as the end of Skarmory's ferry hit Kalgara's weapon. Yet, being barely slowed down, the Shandian managed to get past the pokemon, while his spear remained intact. On the contrary, making her flames disappear, the pokemon heard cracks coming from her abdomen.
And, for the next second, he spat blood, as a wound appeared on her stomach, where Kalgara's spear had managed to hit her. Then, the shandian managed to land on a branch, just as the bird's body hit the ground, with spirals in place of her eyes.
"Tssss!" Kalgara growled. "It really wasn't extraordinary."
Then he turned his gaze to Menma.
Spitting blood, a man fell to the ground as he put his hand on a wound in his abdomen. Showing anger in his eyes, Shura looked up at the soldiers facing him.
" You ... traitors. "
Only displaying sadistic smiles, the soldiers of Enel's army asserted.
"Sorry, Shura-san! But it's an order from Enel-sama."
"Yes! He was the one who ordered us to kill you and Satori as punishment for your defeat."
" Enel ? Impo ... "
Silent, Shura gritted his teeth, while thinking that Enel was in fact a man likely to kill anyone who disappointed him, Prelate and pokemon included.
"The motherfucker." Shura roared.
While Zoro's injury was still making him suffer, the prelate had taken refuge in a small cave dug at the foot of a huge tree trunk, in order to rest and be able to heal his wounds. In the same condition as him, Braviary was just as injured as him, while only Fuza was unscathed.
Unfortunately attacked by surprise, his giant bird had suffered the attacks of the sacred soldiers and Shura had also been slashed by their Axe Dial. Too weak to defend himself, he could only curse Enel for his betrayal.
"It's our lucky day." One of the soldiers asserted, positioning the palm of his hand in front of the Prelate's face. "When he knows that we managed to kill a prelate, Enel-sama will surely reward us.
But before he could finish off Shura, a howl of pain was heard behind him.
"What?" He wondered, turning around.
Being attacked by a figure, which moved with breathtaking agility, the soldiers felt a blade slash their abdomen, unable to do anything to defend themselves. Seeing his companions falling one by one, the soldier near Shura recoiled in fear. Having the impression of feeling a deadly wind approaching him, he let out a cry of terror, before activating his dial axis, in the hope of hitting something. Unfortunately, his attack only slashed the bark in the tree trunk as a blade went through his body.
Spitting blood, he collapsed on the ground, under the stunned eyes of Shura.
" But how ... ? "
At that moment, a foot landed in front of him.
" Do you remember me ? "
Immediately, freezing in terror, the prelate ended up slowly raising his face, to see Velvet's. Not in the same pitiful state as the day before, the demon woman now took on a face betraying her hatred and delight as she gazed at the prelate at her feet.
"You...? Are you still...?"
Not even being able to finish his sentence, he felt a demonic hand grab his neck, before slamming him violently against a tree.
" ARGH ! "
" I warned you. " Velvet affirmed. "I told you I would get revenge! And that moment has finally arrived."
Feeling strangled, Shura tried in vain to struggle.
"No…stop! listen…I'm in the same situation as you! Enel wants me dead! Instead of fighting…let's fight together."
The grip around his neck tightened even more, as veins of anger appeared in Velvet's face.
"After all you've done to me...after treating me like your plaything...do you really think I would trust you at all? Enel betrayed you and wants you dead! Perfect! In If so, he won't mind my killing you."
Immediately, she shook out her second arm and pulled out a dagger from one of her sleeves, before aiming it at Shura's face.
" DIE ! "
However, a foot struck her wrist, forcing her to drop her weapon.
"What...?" the duo wondered.
Letting go of Shura, Velvet backed off and ended up being surprised when she discovered the identity of the person who had just stopped her revenge.
" MUGIWARA "
Standing in front of her, Luffy started screaming.
"Hey, Blacket! What are you doing killing people? Are you having fun or what?"
"Blacket?" Velvet repeated. " Mugiwara, what are you getting into? I have a score to settle with this guy! He tried to kill me several times and I intend to make him pay! This doesn't concern you ... or rather that you should rather feel glad that this guy is dying."
"Huh? Why?"
"He's the one who attacked your boat while..."
She didn't even have time to finish speaking when Luffy's fist hit Shura's cheek. Bumping into the tree again, Shura felt one of his teeth snap as blood ran down his face. Having hit him hard, Luffy had managed to knock him out in one attack. Surprised, Velvet saw the prelate's body fall to the ground, while Luffy dusted off his hands.
"No one touches my friends."
Then, turning to Velvet, he declared.
" We can go. "
"Go where? I'm not going anywhere without killing that asshole."
"Huh? Why would you want to kill him? He's hurt and I knocked him out! I think he's been punished enough."
"Punished? What's your problem, Mugiwara? Do you really think that kicking your opponents' ass is enough to get revenge and protect your friends? "
"Yeah! Killing them is useless."
"Tsss! You're a fool, Mugiwara! When you have the opportunity to kill an enemy, never hesitate to do so! Believe in my experience."
Immediately, she thought back to a male face, which was responsible for all the misfortunes that had happened in her life. She had had the opportunity to kill him several times... without ever succeeding.
Just looking at him, Luffy stated.
"You're the stupid one."
" SORRY ? "
"If you're having fun killing your enemies...then you're really no better than them."
Gritting her teeth, Velvet aimed her demonic arm at Luffy, while attempting to punch him. Raising his foot, Luffy slapped her wrist again, stopping her. Then, stretching his arm back, he then threw it at Velvet.
Tilting her head to the side, the female demon managed to dodge it, before aiming her dagger at Luffy's throat.
However, before she could hit him, she suddenly jumped, to dodge a purple sphere. Growling, she saw Misdreavus and Hattrem hovering above her.
"More monsters?"
"You?" Luffy wondered.
Recognizing the pirate and wanting to take their revenge, the two pokemons rushed at him.
Misdreavus use SHADOW CLAW
Hattrem use BRUTAL SWING
However, before they could attack Luffy, they stopped when they heard trees collapsing.
"Huh?" Wondered the humans in the area.
Then, turning, they cried out in fear, seeing a huge mouth rush at them.
" HELP ! HELP ME ! "
Running through the forest, Usopp was screaming in fear, while small explosions could be heard behind him.
Heracross use MISSILE PIN
Hiding behind a huge tree trunk, the sniper heard the collision noises caused by the projectiles hitting the tree. Seeing him on the defensive, Heracross flashed his horn, before rounding the tree.
Heracross use HORN ATTACK
Nevertheless, going around the tree, he was surprised to see no one hiding behind.
" Hera ? "
" GUNPOWDER STAR "
Startled, Heracross felt an explosion hit his back, damaging his wings. Crushing to the ground, he moaned in pain, before getting up, to raise his gaze upwards. Smiling broadly and crossing his arms, Usopp was suspended ten meters above the ground, with his feet glued against the tree trunk.
" OCTOPAKUTSU !" He affirmed, while showing his strange shoes which looked like octopuses. "Nothing is impossible for Captain Usopp."
Displaying an angry look, Heracross was about to take off, when another projectile hit his face and released a small black cloud.
" PEPPER STAR ! "
Immediately, Heracross began to sneeze, as his vision blurred. Seeing him blinded, Usopp grabbed another projectile, before aiming for his wings.
"If I can stop you from flying, I could easily escape! STICKY STAR !"
However, before he could launch his projectile, Usopp saw Heracross' horn light up again, as the pokemon powerfully hit the tree trunk. Shaken, Usopp was so surprised that he fired without being able to aim and missed his target.
Rubbing his face, Heracross eventually regained some semblance of sight and took the opportunity to fly towards Usopp.
" AHHHHHHHH ! " Hurla Usopp. " FIRE STAR ! "
Seeing the projectile rushing at him, Heracross moved away in extremis to avoid the attack, before pointing his horn at Usopp.
Heracross use FURY ATTACK.
Being hit multiple times, Usopp's eyes widened, as the shock of the impacts knocked his shoes off the tree trunk. Then, Heracross used his horn to throw Usopp back.
Screaming in fear, Usopp cried in horror as he felt himself fall to the ground. However, seeing a branch in front of him, he immediately aimed at it, before pointing his belt at it.
" USOPP AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! "
Immediately, a grappling hook left his belt and managed to wrap itself around the branch. Then, letting the rope get taut, Usopp managed to avoid crashing into the ground, before starting to swing under the branch.
Seeing him stop his fall, Heracross rushed at him, before closing his fist.
Heracross use BRICK BREAK.
Hearing him fly towards him, Usopp fired his slingshot towards him. But, immediately, Heracross flew zigzagging, so as not to be targeted. Moving his sling around, so he could touch him, Usopp began to panic. Then, finally, he fired.
Seeing the projectile perfectly, Heracross moved away again and managed to avoid it a second time. Then, he rushed without hesitation at Usopp. However, he was surprised to see the sniper smiling at him.
" I got you. "
" Hera ? "
Behind him, Usopp's projectile slammed into a tree trunk and exploded to create a cloud of smoke that covered the entire area, including the pokemon. Finding himself blinded, Heracross paused, before looking around, displaying a look of fear. Unfortunately, this did not allow him to see another projectile pass through the cloud of smoke and hit him.
" FIRE STAR ! "
Screaming in pain, Heracross felt his body cover in flames. However, despite his burns, he managed to spread his wings, before creating new explosive projectiles.
Heracross use PIN MISSILE.
Being unable to dodge them, Usopp screamed in terror, before disappearing through a series of explosions. Then, feeling the rope of his grappling hook snap, his body fell to the ground.
At the same time, the two adversaries hit the ground, and their bodies disappeared in clouds of dust that the impact created. However, a few seconds later, the silhouette of Heracross could be seen standing up.
Finding it harder to straighten up, Usopp opened his eyes the instant he saw the pokemon rushing at him.
Heracross use HORN ATTACK
" GUNPOWDER STAR ! "
Managing to fire a projectile, Usopp saw it go straight for Heracross. But, in truth, deciding not to do anything to avoid it, the pokemon took the explosion produced by the projectile. Managing to stay upright, he continued to move towards Usopp, before smashing his horn on his skull.
Immediately, Usopp's body found itself in the center of a crater caused by the impact. Spitting blood, he dropped his sling, and lay on the ground. Remaining motionless for a few moments, while catching his breath, Heracross took the initiative to finish him off. Illuminating his arm, he let it descend towards Usopp's body.
Heracross use BRICK BREAK.
Unfortunately, having taken advantage of the few seconds of respite, Usopp had discreetly taken his small hammer out of his bag, before kicking Heracross's foot.
" USOPP HAMMER ! "
Growling in pain, the pokemon stopped and Usopp took the opportunity to grab his sling, and aimed at his face.
"New attack! I did this to help Luffy but I think you'll like it! SUGAR STAR !"
A projectile hit Heracross's face and in an instant a golden liquid covered his head. Surprised, the pokemon found himself blinded. However, feeling a drop fall into his mouth, he stopped, recognizing the taste of honey.
"Honey and mashed banana." Usopp affirmed. "There is no better mix for attracting and capturing beetles."
And to prove it, the pokemon ran his tongue over his face, while seeming to enjoy the taste of what he managed to lick. Seeing him totally lose his concentration, Usopp aimed at him again.
" OIL STAR ! "
This time, Heracross felt a slippery liquid hitting his abdomen, while Usopp was already planning his next attack.
" FIRE STAR ! "
Too close to avoid it, the pokemon saw the projectile slam into the oil covering his body, before creating intense flames that transformed him into a living torch. Screaming in pain, he made disorganized gestures, while seeming unable to extinguish the flames. Seeing him do this, Usopp fell to his knees, before starting to scream.
"IT'S THE POWER OF CAPTAIN USOPP!"
Unfortunately, opening his eyes, only to show a fighting spirit, Heracross lit up his horn again, before rushing towards Usopp.
Heracross use MEGAHORN.
Eyes widening as he coughed up blood, Usopp felt his body fly through the air, before hitting a tree trunk. Spitting blood again, he then fell to the ground.
His face bleeding, he could only moan in pain. Also injured, Heracross ended up kneeling on the ground, while the flames finally disappeared from his body. Gritting his teeth, and closing one of his eyes, he showed that Usopp's attacks had managed to weaken him. Yet, knowing full well what would happen to him if he lost this fight, he forced himself to his feet.
Seeing him manage to stay on his feet, Usopp was unable to do the same.
"It's impossible! What possessed me to fight him ? I can't win against a pokemon without the help of others! He's invincible! I'm going to get killed."
Attempting to reach out his hand to open his bag, he barely had the energy to search one of his pockets. Feeling his hand close on an object, he brought it closer to his face, before opening it. Immediately, Usopp's eyes flew open, as a new plan formed in his head.
"I can win."
Heracross use HORN ATTACK.
Flying towards Usopp again, the pokemon used her last strength to win this fight. Still on the ground, Usopp appeared to be unconscious. However, when the pokemon was only three meters away from him, he engulfed a spherical object in his mouth, before smashing it between his teeth. And in an instant, the sniper's face turned completely red, while his eyes showed only intense pain.
Finally, opening his mouth, he spat out a column of fire, which flew towards the giant insect. Startled, the pokemon could only avoid it with the help of a reflex, while the column of fire grazed it, simply burning his right wing. Forced to stop his flight, he put one foot on the ground, just as Usopp got back to his feet.
" TABASCO STAR !" He yelled, his mouth on fire. "AND..."
With his sling in his hands again, he aimed at Heracross before throwing another projectile.
" MONSTER BALL ! "
Barely understanding what was happening, Heracross saw another spherical object swoop down on him, before crashing into his forehead. Expanding, the object then opened, while the pokemon's body turned entirely red. Unable to fight, Heracross felt his body suck inside the pokeball, which closed as soon as he disappeared completely inside.
Then falling to the ground, the object began to vibrate several times, while its central button flashed red.
"I succeeded?" Usopp wondered.
For only answer, the object continued to vibrate, again and again. Then, finally, a "clicking" noise was heard, while the central part turned white.
