"Vivi! Please! Breathe." Usopp shouted.
Having dunked Vivi's body in a bathtub, Usopp and Chopper were hosing her down with hot water in hopes of melting the ice covering her.
"She's in a state of apparent death." Chopper affirmed. "We only have a few minutes to save her."
"We need to hurry." Usopp shouted, spilling more hot water over Vivi's head. "Otherwise, she really will die."
"Don't rush." Chopper retorted. "If we pour too hot water on its body it might break! We have to find the right temperature."
"And you're sure it's going to work with this technique?"
"How would I know?" Chopper questioned. "I've never done this before."
"What? Are you kidding? I remind you that you're the doctor."
"Do you really think doctors are used to thawing people out entirely?" Retorted the reindeer.
being behind them, Carue was running into the bathroom while crying out in panic and sobbing, as he feared for his mistress's life. However, finally stopping, he spotted Robin, who was just sitting against a wall.
Wearing just a stoic face, Robin just stared at Vivi, whispering.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry."
" CHOPPER ! "
Startled, the small group heard screams and footsteps coming from outside. Quickly exiting the bathroom, Chopper and Usopp spotted Zoro and the others running towards the Merry.
Then, they also saw the ice statues that contained the bodies of their comrades.
"RAYNARE?" Usopp wondered. "Is this a joke? Aokiji managed to defeat her?"
" She's not the only one. " Sanji retorted. "We have to thaw them quickly! Did you manage to save Vivi-san?"
"We're trying to thaw it gently." Affirmed the reindeer.
"Unfreeze?"
Immediately, heat was felt, as Menma let her hair turn into flames.
"And with my flames?"
"Don't do that." Nami stopped her. "Your flames are way too strong! The ice might crack too quickly and kill them."
"No, wait." Lucy retorted. "Maybe that's a good idea! If we get a good distance between them, Menma can use her flames to thaw them out."
Hearing this, Hatterene floated the ice statues around Menma. Grabbing them then, Zoro and the others began to move them, so that they were close enough to Menma but also far enough away from her.
" You have to put them at a distance of five meters. " Sanji affirmed.
"Idiot! The ice will never melt in time." Wiper retorted. "You have to position them within two meters."
" More like three meters. " Zoro retorted.
But as they moved the statues, Usopp looked at the newcomers, before asking.
"Where's Luffy?"
" Luffy stayed there because he wanted to fight alone against Aokiji. " Sanji informed him.
" What ? "
Stepping off the boat, Usopp approached them.
"Are you serious? You left him alone with this Admiral?"
"It was the captain's orders." Wiper affirmed. "A duel...it is a sacred fight in which no one has the right to stop or interfere."
"Is that an excuse? I can't believe you left him there."
Immediately, Sanji grabbed him by his collar.
"And what did you want us to do? Stand there and give him a stupid applause?"
Clenching his fist, Sanji confessed.
"Bruno was our only chance for victory...but he was knocked out in an instant! And even using attacks involving flames or heat had no effect on Aokiji."
Gripping Usopp's collar more firmly, he assured.
"Luffy understood that perfectly and he still wanted a duel with him! Why do you think he asked that?"
Hearing this, Usopp got scared.
"He sacrificed himself...to save us?"
Hearing this, everyone turned to the duo, while Usopp had just said what everyone was thinking and dreading. Considering the situation, Luffy was definitely never going to come back to Merry.
Knowing this perfectly, Zoro declared.
"The time is serious! It's the future of our entire crew that is at stake! No matter what Luffy was thinking, deciding to face Aokiji... we will have to prepare ourselves for what is to come. follow next."
Hearing this, Hatterene looked towards the forest. Then, before anyone could stop it, the pokemon started flying back to Luffy.
Sitting on the ground, Aokiji looked preoccupied. Standing still, he only stared at Luffy, who was now in an ice statue. The fight only lasted a handful of seconds, but it was more than enough for Aokiji to have the advantage over Luffy and defeat him.
Having remained perfectly still, Shizuo dropped his cigarette on the ground before crushing it under his foot.
"You won...and yet you don't seem happy."
"Because Mugiwara won that fight." Aokiji retorted, scratching the top of his head. "Since I agreed to duel him, my victory ends there! After all, it would be a humiliation for me to win afterwards against a crew that no longer has a captain! This guy is smarter than I didn't think so."
"Or he seriously thought he could beat you." Shizuo remarked.
Thinking about this hypothesis, Aokiji sighed before getting back to his feet. Then, he approached Luffy.
"Everything I told you earlier was true about Nico Robin! Very soon, you will understand how much of a mistake welcoming him among you was! This woman is the enemy of the whole world! And because of that, only misfortune and despair will be your traveling companions! Your life will be much shorter than you hoped."
Suddenly raising his leg, he affirmed.
"Or else I can end your suffering right now."
But before he could do anything, sharp leaves hit him.
Hatterene use MAGICAL LEAF.
Taking a step back, while large cuts were visible on his abdomen, Aokiji stared at the pokemon, which had positioned herself in front of Luffy.
" Hatte ! "
"Oh? So you came back to defend your captain? I must admit you have a lot of courage."
Hatterene use CONFUSION.
Getting ready to attack him again, the pokemon suddenly stopped, seeing Aokiji turn around before leaving.
"Really... Mugiwara reminds me of his sister and his grandfather! Both of them are just idiots! And yet the people around them will always show loyalty to them, even if it means killing them."
" Hatte ? "
"I was indebted to Mugiwara." Aokiji affirmed. "No, actually, the entire Navy owed him a debt! If Crocodile had managed to take Alabasta, who knows what would have happened? But now we're even."
Seeing him leave, Shizuo imitated him. However, Aokiji paused before declaring.
"By the way, I thank Mugiwara for helping Smoker."
And without saying more, Admiral Sans went with Shizuo. Hands in his pockets, the blonde stared at Aokiji not really knowing what to make of the situation.
"Are you upset that I let him live?" Aokiji questioned him.
"No…just curious! Why did you do that?"
"I don't know." Aokiji confessed. "But, I think it's because I want to fulfill the last wish of a friend who died."
" A friend ? "
Seeing them leave, Hatterene immediately turned to Luffy's statue. Getting ready to float it in the air to bring it back to the boat, the pokemon heard cries.
" LUFFY ! "
Then, the next moment, Zoro, Sanji and Wiper arrived in the old combat area.
"Where's that damn Admiral?" Wiper growled, looking around the area.
"Don't worry about him." Sanji retorted, running towards Luffy. "We need to get Luffy back to the boat.
"Damn it." Zoro growled. "If Luffy hadn't decided to fight him, who knows how many of us would have died already?"
But as they started grabbing Luffy, the swordsman heard noises coming from a bush. Immediately, he turned around and drew his swords.
"He's back." He growled, staring at the bush.
" What? "
Finally, the small group saw the branches of the bush parting and two figures appeared. However, surprise was immediately seen in the eyes of the three men. instead of Aokiji and Shizuo, a young woman and a little girl had just appeared.
Much like the survivors from earlier, the duo had visible scratches on them, while their clothes were torn here and there.
"Other survivors?" Sanji wondered.
"Please..." the young woman begged, as she crawled on the floor, looking unable to stand. " Help us. "
Tired, Menma continued to look like a human torch, while the ice of the statues around her slowly melted, gradually freeing the bodies of the people she imprisoned.
"It works." Lucy rejoiced.
" CHOPPER ! "
Returning to the Merry, Zoro and the others carried Luffy's statue.
"Luffy?" Nami wondered.
" Aokiji left him for dead. " Sanji affirmed. "We have to get out of here before he makes the decision to finish his job."
Knowing he was right, Nami ordered.
"Get everyone on the boat! Bring up the anchor! Lower the sails! We're leaving immediately."
Freshly woken up, Bruno sat in the back of the boat, watching the island disappear into the distance.
Thinking back to his performance today, he clenched his fingers, before hitting the floor of the boat.
"DAMN IT! I got him so focused on Aokiji that I didn't even think for a moment that his comrade could stop me! That's an unforgivable mistake on my part."
" Whether he stopped you or not, I don't think Aokiji could have been defeated by an attack as predictable as this." Gin retorted.
Having bandages covering his face, the man declared.
"Today our entire crew lost."
"Yes." Bruno agreed. "We got slaughtered."And now what should we do? For some reason, Aokiji decided to spare us! But if we meet another Navy admiral, who knows what might happen?"
Shrugging, Gin finally pulled away from him. Then, approaching Usopp, Gin put his arm around his shoulders, before telling him.
"Usopp...I need you to do me a favor."
"Huh? What do you want?"
"That you help me to become stronger."
Suddenly, the bathroom door opened, and Chopper stepped out. "
"GUYS!" he cried, sobbing. "VIVI AND LUFFY…THEY'RE SAVED. "
Hearing this, the other pirates squealed with delight.
"HIP HIP HIP HOORAY!" Yelled Johnny and Yosaku. "Doctor Chopper, you are the best."
"Thanks to Menma, Raynare and the others are already resting in their rooms." Lucy affirmed. " It is a relief. "
For her part, staying behind the others, Robin was silent, while her face betrayed the fact that she was preoccupied. And no matter what she tried to think about, Aokiji's words continued to haunt her.
" JET GATLING ! "
" ICE AGE ! "
Standing still, Luffy saw his fists pulverize Aokiji's body. However, turning into ice, the man had managed to survive his attack. Then, grabbing Luffy, he began to freeze the pirate.
"Mugiwara...now, who's going to protect your friends?"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Luffy suddenly cried, opening his eyes.
Straightening up, Luffy looked around and was surprised to see that he was lying on a bed.
" What is ... ? "
Having nearly had a heart attack while examining Luffy, Chopper fell over the bed and landed on his head.
"OUCH!" he complained.
"Chopper?" Luffy wondered.
Immediately, Hatterene's appendage wrapped around him, as the pokemon hugged Luffy close.
" Hatte! "
"What? What?" Luffy repeated. "I'm on the Merry?"
"Yes." Chopper assured him. " Zoro and the others managed to get you back on the boat. "
"And Vivi and the others?"
"They are saved! Raynare and Velvet have already woken up! Vivi and the others are still sleeping but their condition is stable."
" And Ice-guy ? "
"He's gone." Chopper affirmed. "Even after winning against you, he didn't try to attack us! We left yesterday and you slept for a whole day."
Hearing this, Luffy removed the blanket covering him, before standing up.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Chopper asked. " You must rest. "
However, ignoring him, Luffy walked towards the door of the room and, quickly, all the people who were outside saw him.
"Luffy?" Nami wondered, as she took care of the cape.
"ANIKI!" Yelled Johnny and Yosaku, crying with joy.
Having recovered faster than a normal human, Raynare and Velvet were also present, as they saw Luffy take a deep breath.
Then he shouted.
" SANJI ! EAT ! "
Immediately, the kitchen door opened as Sanji arrived with several plates covering his arms.
"Stop shouting." The cook retorted. "Everything is already ready."
In an instant, two plates disappeared, while Luffy swallowed their contents. Cheeks full, he grabbed more plates, which were emptied as quickly as the previous ones. Looking like a hamster now, Luffy didn't even take the time to chew, as he swallowed all he could.
Finally, feeling a new source of energy surge through him, Luffy let the plates fall at his feet, as he cried out again.
"YOUR CAPTAIN...YOUR CAPTAIN IS CURE!"
Hearing this, several smiles were visible as his comrades shouted.
" YEAH ! "
being seated on the floor, Bellamy couldn't help but chuckle a little.
"This guy survived a fight against an admiral! It makes you wonder if he's immortal."
"Only old age can kill him." Bruno assured him.
"Luffy..." Usopp said, crying. " Thanks my God. "
" You should never doubt him. " Zoro assured. "Otherwise, he wouldn't deserve to be considered our captain."
" It's nothing but an unconscious. " Velvet retorted. "Wanting to fight this monster alone? That was madness."
However, feeling frustrated herself, she couldn't believe she could have been so useless during this fight.
"Even flames had no effect on this guy and he defeated me in one attack."
Suddenly, Luffy's arm wrapped around her.
" VELVET ! "
Feeling pulled, the demoness was taken to Luffy and their two bodies pressed against each other.
"I'm so glad you and Raynare are better off." The pirate assured.
Immediately, feeling her body pressing against his, Velvet blushed. Then the moment followed, a sound of shock was heard, while Luffy's head was stuck in the floor.
"Don't ever do that again." Velvet roared, still blushing.
For her part, watching the commotion outside through a porthole, Robin was in the women's room. Showing a weak smile at first, she then turned to one of the beds in the room where Vivi was, who was still asleep.
"Princess Wednesday..." she whispered.
Straightening up, Luffy managed to get his head off the floor, while several pieces of wood were stuck in his mouth.
"Hey, I didn't do anything wrong! What did you hit me for?"
" Luffy, before an argument starts, I would like to talk about an important subject. " Zoro told him.
"Huh? You mean Ice-Guy?"
"No." The swordsman retorted, pointing at something. "Look."
Startled, Luffy looked up and saw two people staring at him. Thus, he saw a woman with long hair having the same colors as the plumage of a magnificent peacock and a girl with very dark black hair and golden eyes.
"Huh?" Luffy wondered. " Who are these people ? "
"We found them on the island." Wiper affirmed, lying against the body of Boufallant, who was resting on the floor. "I didn't agree to bring them here, but the cook and the swordsman decided to help them."
" But now that you're awake, I think it's time we decide what to do with them. " Zoro stated.
Not really understanding the situation, Luffy turned to the pair.
" Who are you ? "
"I…I'm Azelma." The young woman introduced herself. "And this is my daughter, Shun-day."
Simply staring at Luffy, the child remained silent.
" Are you also survivors who landed on the island we just left? " Luffy asked.
"Seriously, I doubt it." Sanji retorted. "After all, I doubt that the people we helped would not have noticed their presence! Moreover, after experiencing hunger and the fear of dying on a desert island, I don't think these people decided to leave without a mother and her daughter. "
"Which means those two weren't part of the group of survivors we rescued." Bruno remarked.
" I… It's true. " Azelma agreed. "We were on the same boat but...none of them saw us! Because...we were stowaways! We miraculously survived when the boat sank! But, once on the island , we decided not to show ourselves! So no other survivors suspected our presence on the island. "
"What is this weird story?" Gin asked. "You were stowaways? What next? Why did you hide your presence on this island?"
"What's amazing is that a mother and daughter stayed hidden, while a Navy admiral could help them." Raynare remarked.
" We… We couldn't ask for his help. " Azelma retorted. "Because...we are wanted."
"Wanted?" Lucy repeated. "Are you criminals?"
" Not at all. " Azelma retorted, looking away. "We're not bad people..."
Seeing her remain silent afterwards, Zoro gave a suspicious look.
"You are people wanted by the Navy and you ask for help from pirates... Which means that you must have done something that has pissed off the Navy! If you want us to help you, you have to confessed to us what you did."
"WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING." Azelma retorted.
Remaining seated on the floor, the young woman tried to advance towards the pirates, but was only able to crawl on the ground. Seeing this, Chopper walked towards her.
"Can I see your legs?"
"A... A mink?" Azelma wondered, stepping back a little.
For his part, Shun-day looked in Menma's direction before growling.
" Raptancrow. "
" Don't worry. " Chopper said, approaching Azelma. "I mean you no harm."
Then, noting that the young woman made no hostile gesture, Chopper grabbed one of her legs, before rolling up the bottom of the pants she was wearing. Immediately, he saw the horrible scars that covered Azelma's leg, explaining the reason why she couldn't stand.
"I am incapable of being able to use my legs." She affirmed. "To be honest, I won't be able to notice one day! To keep me from running away, they ripped the muscles from my legs."
"WHAT?" several people shouted.
"Are you going to tell us who you are?" Zoro questioned her.
Staring at the swordsman, Azelma only put on a shamefaced face. Then, finally, she grabbed the bottom of her T-shirt, before lifting it. Exposing her lower belly, she allowed the pirates to see her navel...or rather her large burn, shaped like a dragon's paw. Azelma had been branded like cattle.
"We are slaves."
