Seeing the Aqua Laguna coming towards him at full speed, Gin could only scream in fear, while he was unable to move. Where could he go anyway? He would barely have time to leave the boat before the giant wave would have already caught up with him.
And, even more quickly than he would have predicted, the Aqua Laguna slammed into Merry's hull. Getting caught up in the current, the boat was immediately hoisted towards the top of the wave, while it was tipped onto its side. Startled by the sudden movement of the boat, Gin lost his balance and felt his body leave the boat.
" AHHHHHHHHHH! " He shouted, as he was about to sink into the middle of the wave.
However, he felt his body suddenly stop, while a hand managed to grab his wrist. Stunned, the man raised his face and saw a small figure leaning over the boat. Unable to see his savior's face, Gin noticed that his head was hidden under a sailor's oilskin.
"What? Usopp, is that you?"
"I won't let you die." A voice, similar to that of a child, said.
Then, Gin was lifted onto the boat and fell to the floor. Catching his breath, as he felt like his heart had stopped. The man couldn't believe he was still alive. However, looking around, he saw no one. His savior had vanished.
" How ... ? "
But before he could finish speaking, he saw the top of the wave fold in on itself before crashing into Merry, engulfing it beneath its waves.
" QUAAAAAAAA ! "
Running at full speed through the wet streets of the lower city, Carue rushed towards Wiper. On his back, Johnny couldn't help but feel stressed, as he seemed to hear a noise coming from the ocean.
"I don't like that noise! We have to act quickly."
Finally, when Wiper's body was in front of his feet, Carue stopped, allowing Johnny to leave his back.
"Hey! Wiper! Can you hear me? Are you still alive?"
In response, the shandian began to spit blood as soon as Johnny moved his body. Moaning afterwards, the man seemed to have difficulty breathing. But at least he was alive.
"Don't be afraid, we'll take you away from here." Johnny affirmed, starting to pick him up.
Still, Wiper's hand gripped his collar. Trying to breathe, the Shandian coughed up blood. Still, he managed to whisper.
"Bou… Bouffa…"
" Huh ? "
Suddenly Wiper raised his finger and pointed to the back of the neighborhood where they were. Looking in that direction, Johnny saw the body of Bouffalant, who was also injured and lying on the ground.
" Bison ? "
At that moment, the noise coming from the ocean became louder and louder. Raising their gaze, Johnny and Carue uttered frightened cries, seeing a huge one which could be distinguished above the roofs of the houses.
" AHHHHHHHHHH / QUAAAAAAAAAAA ! "
Running in circles at first, the duo eventually stopped, while Johnny positioned the Shandian's body on the giant duck's back. Then reaching around his belt, he grabbed Bouffalant's pokeball, before ordering.
"Brother-Carue…run and join the others."
" QUAAAAAA ? "
"Take Wiper-aniki with you! I'll take care of Bouffalant."
Seeing him then running towards the pokemon, Carue remained undecided for a few seconds, before finally turning around to bring Wiper to safety.
" LUFFY ! "
Surprised to hear a voice, Luffy whispered.
" Nami ? "
"What are you doing stuck up there?"
"It's Pigeon-guy! He threw me here and I got stuck! I can't get free."
"BAKAYARO!" Nami roared. "While you were stupidly stuck here, Robin has already left the island! CP9 took him to Enies-Lobby."
" What ? " Said Luffy.
"Robin sacrificed herself for us! To stop the government from attacking us, she decided to go to Cipher Pol so that we would be spared! Luffy...Robin is ready to die for us! And if we don't do something to save her, she will be executed."
Hearing this, Luffy could only repeat.
"Robin…she sacrificed herself?"
Feeling tears streaming down her cheeks, Nami whispered.
"Luffy...we have to save her! I'm begging you! We don't have time to waste! If Robin ever dies because of us...I can never forgive myself."
Then staring at Luffy, she roared.
"Then free yourself and let's go save her."
" OF COURSE ! " Shouted Luffy.
Immediately, he felt the veins in his arms begin to enlarge, as he heaved.
"I won't let Robin die! EVER!"
Then, Nami saw steam appear between the two buildings, while Luffy began to scream.
" GEAR 2 ! "
Stopping near Bouffalant, Johnny quickly aimed his pokeball towards him.
"Quick! Come back!"
Johnny had no idea if this would work, knowing that Wiper was Bouffalant's sole trainer. However, he saw a red ray come out of the object and surround Bouffalant. Then, the next second, the pokemon returned to his pokeball and disappeared inside.
At first surprised, Johnny eventually looked up to see that the wave had come dangerously close. Without wasting a moment, he turned around and rushed towards the upper part of the city. However, having already reached the island, the Aqua Laguna was ready to pulverize it.
" AHHHHHHHHHH! " The man shouted, rushing to run faster.
However, feeling his foot step in a puddle, he felt himself slipping and collapsed to the ground. Trying to crawl, he became frightened when he heard the first buildings being hit by the wave.
"I'm going to…I'm going to die?"
Being ready to engulf him, the wave rushed towards him. However, as fast as it, a silhouette fell from the sky before grabbing Johnny.
"What?" The man wondered, feeling himself lifted above the ground.
" Hang on. "
Spreading his wings to the maximum, Menma flew almost vertically to hoist Johnny above the Aqua Laguna.
"Little-Menma!" Johnny sobbed.
Hearing other buildings being hit by the wave, the duo saw it in front of them, while Menma performed a deadly time trial in order to climb out of danger.
"THE WAVE IS COMING!" Johnny feared.
Indeed, passing near them, the wave devastated the neighborhood where Johnny was just a few seconds ago. However, raising his legs as high as possible, the man saw the wave pass just below him, only splashing him. Feeling her power, as she continued on her way, the man stopped breathing, while he was certain that he was dead and that only his soul was rising into the sky.
"We succeeded." Menma rejoiced.
Finally, Johnny sobbed more, all the while asserting.
"I'm so glad to be alive."
Unfortunately, still finding himself in danger, Luffy continued to struggle in vain, despite the fact that the muscles in his arms managed to crack the wall of the two buildings.
"I...I wouldn't die." He affirmed.
For her part, being able to see the wave rising almost above the island, Nami felt immense fear take hold of her.
" What is that ? "
Also hearing the wave, Luffy tried to increase his power.
"I need more power! Even more power."
Suddenly, he inhaled a large quantity of air, in order to make his stomach swell. Hoping that this would push back the walls that trapped him, Luffy found that it made no difference.
"Robin…I'm going to save you."
Continuing to suck in more air, the pirate stopped inflating his stomach and directed all the sucked air into his arms.
"I WILL SAVE YOU!" He assured.
Letting his arms double or triple in volume, Luffy placed his hands on the walls of the buildings, before exerting phenomenal force.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Cracking further, the walls felt the strength of Luffy's arms which had increased tenfold in size. Added with the power of GEAR 2, Luffy managed to hear many cracks around him.
" ROBBBBBBBBIIIIINNNNN ! "
The next second, Nami widened her eyes, seeing the two buildings being pushed aside, while a pair of giant arms could be seen.
" Luffy? "
As surprised as she was, Luffy looked at his giant arms, while being unable to explain what he had just done. But in any case, it had given him the strength necessary to free himself. Then turning around, to see the Aqua Laguna ravaging everything, the pirate let one of his giant hands grab Nami. Then he blew a huge amount of air, which propelled him towards the upper city.
" SANJUUROKU POUDOU HOU! "
Having found Zoro and giving him back his saber, Chopper saw him cut the chimney in two, allowing his release.
"Finally free." Zoro rejoiced.
However, even he couldn't help but be scared when he saw the Aqua Laguna.
" What is this ? "
Not having time to answer him, Chopper took a bite of a Rumble Ball before grabbing him.
" JUMPING POINT ! "
Staying in the upper city, the other pirates saw their companions fleeing the giant wave as best they could. And while Menma had managed to hoist Johnny out of danger, Carue had managed to reach the stairs and rushed towards the upper city.
However, the others seemed to be about to be swept away by the wave.
"The crazy ones." Paulie shouted.
" ANIKI! LUFFY-ANIKI! " Johnny shouted. " YOU CAN DO IT ! "
"Luffy!" Bruno growled, with one hand still on his abdomen.
"Mugiwara..." Shun-day murmured.
Beginning to pray, Azelma prepared to keep her eyes closed, afraid of seeing something that could haunt her for the rest of her days.
Fighting against the wave and the collapsing buildings around them, Luffy and Chopper eventually made their way to the main stair deck. Having just crossed this bridge, Carue climbed the last part of the stairs, when Luffy and Chopper managed to reach it.
Falling to the stone floor, they uttered groans of exhaustion, while their survival was the result of a true miracle.
"We...We succeeded." Luffy rejoiced.
"I can't believe we want each other." Chopper confessed.
For her part, lying on her back, Nami looked up at the sky, while Menma could be seen, as she carried Johnny towards the upper city.
"Sister-Nami! Wiper-aniki is saved! I repeat: Wiper-aniki is saved."
Hearing this, Nami breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thanks my god!"
However, the quartet had the unpleasant surprise of hearing the sound of the wave intensify. Then, barely having time to raise their faces, they saw a second wave rise above the city, before falling on the bridge where they were.
"AHHHHHHHH!" They shouted before being swallowed up.
"MUGIWARA!" The carpenters shouted.
"Impossible! The wave engulfed the main staircase deck."
Feeling the wave crash with force, the bridge broke in two and threatened to separate from the rest of the staircase.
"ANIKI / ONII-SAN!" Menma and Johnny shouted, seeing their friends disappear under the waves.
"WHAT?" Carue was surprised, even though he had just finished going up the main staircase.
"LUFFY!" The pirates were scared.
However, everyone was surprised, seeing many ropes being thrown through the waves. Feeling each of them manage to wrap themselves around a body, Paulie then pulled them towards him.
"After all the effort you put into saving Iceberg-san, there's no way I'm letting you die."
But as he tried to pull Luffy and the others out of the wave, he felt his body being carried forward. Unable to fight against the power of the waves, his feet almost left the ground. However, a pair of hands grabbed him and managed to immobilize him.
"That?" The man was surprised.
Flexing his muscles, Taurus bellowed as he grabbed hold of Paulie's ropes.
"Taurus, I'm counting on you." Lucy affirmed.
"No worries." The spirit assured.
Then, using a powerful movement, he pulled the ropes with all his strength, managing to extract the bodies of Luffy and the others out of the wave. Collapsing to the ground, while spewing water, the pirates had just been saved by a new miracle.
Yet, looking toward the ocean, Paulie ordered.
" RUN ! "
Looking up to see a third wave rushing towards them, Luffy and Zoro grabbed Nami and Chopper, before running with Paulie. Running with them, Taurus grabbed Lucy and left the bridge when the wave collapsed onto the bridge, completely destroying it.
Running again and again, while they heard the sounds of crashing behind them, the small group finally made a huge jump, propelling themselves out of danger onto the upper part of the city. Having missed them, the wave finished destroying the bridge, before starting to retreat.
"Mugiwara! Paulie-san!"
Running towards the pirates, the carpenters wanted to know how they were doing. Simply sitting down, Paulie stated.
"As I suspected, this year's Aqua Laguna is the most powerful I have ever seen! Impossible to go to sea! That would be suicide."
"Rope-guy! Thanks." Luffy thanked him.
Simply grunting, Paulie lit a cigar, all the while retorting.
"If the blonde hadn't made her cow or something appear, I would have been swept away with you in the wave."
Staring at the pirates, he confessed.
"You guys are truly amazing."
At that moment, Menma put Johnny down, while Yosaku and Carue ran towards them.
"ANIKI! I was so scared."
" QUAAAAA !"
"So that was the Aqua Laguna." Menma understood. "It sure was terrifying! But now that it's over, we can go find Robin."
"Baka." Paulie growled, looking towards the ocean.
Seeing the ocean begin to recede again, he affirmed.
"It was only the first wave! There will be a second... a third... I can't say how many there will be! But this is only the beginning and it will continue as long as the storm won't be finished."
"I've never seen anything so frightening." Azelma confessed. "How do you manage to live on this island while knowing that this kind of phenomenon can happen?"
"The Aqua Laguna had never been so powerful." Paulie assured, thoughtfully. "This may mean the island has sunk deeper into the ocean than we thought! If this continues, the evacuation of the island will soon be reported."
"It's true that Aqua Laguna didn't have such power twenty years ago." Kokoro affirmed. "It seems like the ocean is trying to tell us that Water-7 is already doomed."
"Monster-grandma!" Luffy recognized her.
"Stupid Mugiwara." Shun-day growled, kicking him a few times. "What are you doing stuck? Everyone was worried about you."
"Huh?" Luffy was surprised. "You were worried about me too?"
Hearing this, the child blushed before looking away.
" No way. "
Then, looking embarrassed, she then punched Zoro.
"You're just an idiot too."
Unable to answer him, Zoro tried in vain to unhook Chopper, who was clinging to his face.
Managing to get to her feet, Nami declared.
"We have no time to waste! We need to find a boat to get to Enies Lobby."
"Huh?" Kokoro said, stopping smiling. "Enies...Lobby?"
"Nami... is it true that Robin wants to sacrifice himself for us?" Luffy questioned.
"Yes! And she's on her way to Enies Lobby to be judged! However, she left by taking the sea train and Sanji and the others are inside."
"It's our turn to leave the island." Lucy said, counting on her fingers. "On the sea train, there are Sanji, Velvet and Vivi who are accompanied by Loke and Baka-my! And Raynare has gone to find them! And we have just found Zoro, Wiper and Luffy! Which means that our crew. .."
She suddenly fell silent, looking at her fingers, realizing that someone was still missing.
"Wait a minute! Where's Gin?"
"Gin?" Nami was surprised. "He was supposed to be in the shed with Johnny and the others."
"Huh... that's... he suddenly left." Johnny told her.
"Yes! He left the hangar before any of us even knew that Robin was leaving the island." Yosaku affirmed.
"What? And where did that idiot go?"
"No idea! He just said he'd be back soon."
"We haven't seen him anywhere." Bruno affirmed. "However, we had inspected the entire upper part of the city."
"I also didn't see anything." Menma added.
"But then..." Nami feared, heading towards the ocean.
Being unable to see what was left of the lower city, the redhead whispered.
"Gin...was there?"
" Hurry up. "
Motioning for the rest of the Franky Familly to hurry up, Zambe declared.
"Aniki was kidnapped by the Galley-La guys! We need to find him as quickly as possible."
"But why did they do this?" kyiv asked. "Do you think this has anything to do with the destruction of their shipyard?"
"They may have captured Aniki to put him in prison."
"Whatever." Zambe retorted. "We're going to Galley-La immediately and we weren't leaving without Aniki."
A huge crashing noise was heard and the group of bandits looked towards the ocean.
"The Aqua Laguna is really scary." Mozu said, seeing the waves crashing against the shore.
"The island will soon sink if this continues." Kiwi remarked.
Also looking towards the ocean, Zambe suddenly saw a figure on the surface.
"Huh?" He wondered, adjusting his rifle scopes.
Zooming in to get a better look the man saw the silhouette of a pirate ship, struggling to float on the surface of the ocean.
"Impossible…" The man affirmed, thinking he was hallucinating.
" What is happening ? "
"I see a boat! A boat is floating on the water."
" What ? "
"It's impossible! No boat can sail in the Aqua Laguna."
"Even the Navy doesn't have a boat powerful enough for that.
"Look for yourself! He's coming here."
Indeed, having to wait only a few seconds, the Franky Family saw a boat, whose bow looked like a sheep's head, crashing against the shore. The boat was in such poor condition that it collapsed on its side, depositing its broken mast on the ground.
"This boat…" Zambe said.
"It's Mugiwara's." Assured Mozu and Kiwi.
"The fool! Did they try to leave the island in the middle of a storm?"
"But that doesn't explain how this boat was able to withstand the power of the Aqua Laguna! Even though it's damaged, this boat is in pretty good shape, compared to everyone else who tried to weather this storm ."
However, the group's surprise was only just beginning, when they saw something move on the floor of the Merry.
" Huh ? "
Widening his eyes, Zambe saw a man crawling on the floor of the ship, as he seemed to want to leave the boat.
"Impossible! There is someone alive on this boat."
Completely soaked, Gin spat out water. Trying to catch his breath, the man barely felt able to open his eyes. Not understanding what had happened, the man tried to come to his senses. However, everything was jumbled in his head. He had trouble remembering exactly what had just happened.
He only had brief memories of a giant wave, the ship being swallowed up by others, a stranger saving Gin...
Finally, trying to leave Merry, Gin crawled weakly on the sloping floor of the boat, before dropping onto the rocky ground of the shore.
Remaining motionless, time to catch his breath, the man suddenly heard footsteps coming in his direction. Opening one eye, he saw Zambe in front of him, while he was accompanied by the rest of the Franky Family.
"Oye! Are you part of Mugiwara's crew?"
Trying to answer, Gin ends up losing consciousness again.
