This is the 4th chapter. I don't own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Lesson Zero
It has been a few days since Golden Charm and Flora Heart arrived in Equestria, and Rarity's belly grew a little bigger while Kronk stayed in the Carousel Boutique to help her with the designs. Rarity is now on a maternity leave because of the pregnancy and Kronk is taking her place for making designs and sketching. Twilight went to the schoolhouse, given Cheerilee an explanation of a new student named Golden Charm and his grave misfortune. Cheerilee felt sorry for the Irish colt, after hearing the loss of his family and almost losing his sister.
Diamond Tiara however was about to go and pick on Golden Charm, but for some reason, it got her blushed when she looked at the Irish colt.
Right now at the Golden Oak Library, Spike was helping Twilight get organized with what she needs.
"Quill?" Twilight said.
"Check." Spike replied.
"Parchment?" Twilight said.
"Check." Spike said.
"Extra ink?" Twilight said as she hovered another ink bottle above Spike.
"Check."
"Extra extra ink?" Twilight called out as she hovered another ink bottle above Spike.
"Check."
"Is everything on the checklist?" Twilight asked as she set the items on her desk.
There before her was plenty of parchment, three bottles of ink, and three quills.
"Yep." Spike replied, checking off the items of the list, but feels a bit concerned as Twilight walks by.
"Great." Twilight said. "Now that we've completed the checklist of things we need to create a checklist, we can make my checklist of the things I have to get done by the end of the day. Ready?"
"Ready!" Spike replied with a quill raised in the air and ready.
"Item 1: Create checklist of things I have to accomplish by the end of the day." Twilight said with a toothy grin.
Spike just sighed as Twilight just looked at him curiously, not really understanding what the big deal was.
The big deal was that Spike missed Mario and Comet. After the events of Discord and Rarity's pregnancy, Mario had decided to do some solo training with his friends and his godson on clearing everything that led to them and hadn't been studying with Twilight at all. Comet spends less timing with his mother when he decided to focus on more training in magic and martial arts with Mario and Wild Heart while learning the spirits of the wild, but he also helps Golden Charm get adjusted in Equestria.
When Spike asked Twilight why Mario and Comet hadn't come back, she only replied that Mario wanted some room to do his own things and she felt like she owed that to him. She also told him that her son spends mostly on training with Mario and Wild Heart since his magic is getting stronger during the fight against Discord.
Spike didn't believe her answer one bit. He knew thanks to Mario that Twilight kissed him on the lips and that Twilight did miss having Mario and Comet around and spending time with her son. Rather than admit to it, Twilight seemed to try and do everything she could to keep herself busy and do everything she could to keep herself busy and not think about it. It was one thing to distract herself, but now it seemed like Twilight was taking her organization to level Spike which he'd never seen before. It was one thing to mircomanage, but it was another when a pony was literally making a checklist to check her checklists which it sounds redundant, but that's the case. Spike could see that Twilight was trying far too hard to try and control every aspect of her life and it was only a matter of time before something would give out and there was going to be a major meltdown.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony
Ahhhh
My Little Pony
I use to wonder what friendship could be
My Little Pony
Until you all share this magic with me
Big adventure,
Tons of fun,
A beautiful heart,
Faithful and strong,
Sharing kindness
It's an easy feat
And magic makes it all complete
You all have my little ponies
Do you know all you're my best friends?
It wasn't much longer before Twilight and Spike were making their way through Ponyville. Spike was dragging a long checklist behind him as they went along.
"How are we doing, Spike?" Twilight asked as Spike examined the long list before them.
"Let's see..." Spike said as he read the long checklist. "We've already dropped off your cape at the cleaners, returned the blackboard you borrowed from Cheerilee, ordered new parchment and quills from that stationary shop..."
"Hmm...Seems like we just placed an order for those a few days ago." Twilight said curiously.
"Can't imagine why we go through so many of them." Spike remarked, clearly not hiding sarcasm.
"Sounds like we're ahead of schedule." Twilight said. "What's next?"
Spike checked the list again.
"Cupcakes!" Spike announced excitedly.
And just as they've arrived at Sugarcube Corner, Rose Lotus noticed Twilight and Spike as she and Djali stops dancing.
"Hello, Twilight, Spike." Rose Lotus greets with a smile. "What brings you here?"
"We're just here to get some cupcakes for the picnic today." Twilight informed her.
"It's very thoughtful of you, Twilight." Rose Lotus said. "It can help you rekindle the love of your son. I'm sure you missed it ever since Comet spends most of his time with Mario and Wild Heart while helping Golden Charm get adjusted here."
Twilight can only sighed, knowing that the gypsy filly was right since Comet spends less time with his mother. Rose Lotus already knows what happened between the two and Mario, but Twilight was trying to keep herself busy and not think about it.
And just as they went inside with Twilight not saying a word to the gypsy filly, there before them was a baby blue colored box that had several cupcakes inside of it. Spike thought they were delicious as he sticks his tongue out at just how tasty they look.
"Something tells me mom will definitely enjoy this." Rose Lotus states, looking at the cupcakes.
Twilight however had a confused look when she looked inside of the box.
"Uh, I only ordered twelve." Twilight pointed out.
"Oh, I know, dear." Mrs. Cake replied as she walked out with a tray of treats on her head. "But I had an extra. So, I thought I'd make it a baker's dozen."
Mrs. Cake then made her way back into the kitchen with two sets of baked goods all packed up and resting on her head.
"That's alright." Rose Lotus replied. "I'm sure she'll-"
Twilight pulls Rose Lotus and Spike back with her magic to intervene.
"Oh, that was very thoughtful of you." Twilight said. "It's just that some of the icing from the extra cupcake is getting all over the one next to it, see?"
Twilight pointed a hoof at the two cupcakes as Mrs. Cake looked as well.
"Oh...sure..." Mrs. Cake said slowly.
"It's just that we're planning on sharing these at a picnic later and I don't want anypony to feel like somepony else is getting more icing." Twilight told her.
Thought one could argue she only said that because of the old saying: the customer is always right. However, it got Rose Lotus very annoyed when she walks back up to Twilight.
"Twilight, no ones going to care, let alone notice a small little detail like that." Rose Lotus told her. "You really think they would be picky about their own food?"
Twilight then rushes and got to Rose Lotus' face.
"Yes!" Twilight answered. "What if Rarity thinks the cupcake is too messy?! Or what if your mother actually says that one of the cupcakes have too many icing and it isn't fair?! Or maybe-"
Rose Lotus puts her hoof over Twilight's mouth to silence her and then gives Mrs. Cake a nervous smile.
"Forget what she said. They're fine just the way they are." Rose Lotus said.
"Oh, okay. If you say so." Mrs. Cake replied.
Rose Lotus then closes and takes the box of cupcakes and shoves both Twilight and Spike out of Sugarcube Corner. She then puts the box of cupcakes down when Twilight gives her a rather angry look.
"Rose, now look what you've done." Twilight said angrily. "Our friends are fighting over a silly cupcakes now because of this."
"Twilight!" Rose Lotus shouts in annoyance. "A little bit of extra icing on a cupcake in not a big deal. Like...at all! Nopony is going to notice that, trust me."
"Yeah, I mean seriously Twilight." Spike agrees with the same annoyed look on his face. "You aren't young and would fight over some food like foals. No offense, Rose."
"None taken." Rose Lotus replied with Twilight sighed.
"Fine, I guess you're right." Twilight said in defeat. "I think me and Spike will continue to finish up everything on the list."
Soon it was noon when both Twilight and Spike arrived back at the Golden Oak Library finished with her tasks for the day.
"Looks like that's everything!" Spike told her as he hopped off Twilight's back.
"Almost everything." Twilight told him.
"Almost what everything?" The voice of Comet asks when he walked upstairs after he finished his bath from his training, then turns to the checklist. "'Triple check checklist to make sure we didn't miss anything when we double checked the checklist!'"
Comet then looks over to his mother.
"You REALLY exaggerate when it comes to organizing things, mom." Comet said in a deadpan expression.
"What are you talking about?" Twilight asks in confusion. "I don't overdue it that much."
Spike then uncurls the entire checklist to let it roll on the floor to prove Comet's point. Twilight then blushes a little, gives an embarrassed smile, and rubs the back of her head.
"Okay...maybe a little." Twilight said.
"'Little' is an understatement, mom." Comet points out when Spike sighed.
"Anyways, check." Spike said, changing the subject as he checks off the last checkbox on the checklist and then drops both the parchment and quill to reveal that his right claw which he writes with his throbbing to show that he's in pain. "Ugh...I've been holding that quill so long, I've got a claw cramp!"
"Let me help you with that." Comet said as he uses his magic to bring out an ointment, rubs it on his claw and then wraps the cast around Spike's arm.
"Thanks, Comet." Spike thanked him. "Good thing we don't have anything to report to Princess Celestia this week...I don't think I could write another word!"
"We haven't sent a letter to Princess Celestia this week?!" Twilight exclaims in panic.
"Why? Is that bad?" Spike asked casually.
"Bad? BAD?! Of course it's bad!" Twilight snapped, getting into Spike's face so quickly that his arms went into the air, sending the bandage on his claw to go flying off behind him. "I'm...that is...Mario and I...are supposed to send Princess Celestia a letter every week, telling her about a lesson we've learned about friendship! Not every other week, not every ten days, every...single...week!"
Twilight didn't hesitate to poke Spike's chest and got right into his face again as she explained the situation.
"Now hold on, did Princess Celestia ever told you that she needed a letter every week?" Comet asks, decided to intervene.
"Well...no!" Twilight answered since her son does have a valid point.
"Has she ever reminded you that she needed a letter?" Comet asks again, again making a valid point.
"No!" Twilight groans in frustration. "Okay, so I made that deadline myself, but still she's probably expecting one by today!"
"Mom, you're doing it again!" Comet said. "I'm sure Princess Celestia..."
"NO COMET!" Twilight shouted at her son. "This is NOT something I'm going to make an assumption on!"
Twilight then looked all over the place for a book that she needed.
"Ohh...Where's my calendar, where's my calendar?!" Twilight asked frantically.
"Where it...always is?" Spike remarked as he walked over a drawer on the other side of the room and pulled it out.
Twilight then grabbed the calendar with her magic and pulled it towards her desk, causing Spike to smack into the side of it.
"When did we send the last one?" Twilight asked as she flipped through the pages.
"Last...Tuesday?" Spike answered, lay on the ground on his back.
"And today is..." Twilight said as she finally found the current date in her calendar book.
"Don't tell me...it's Tuesday." Comet said with a sigh as Twilight's head shot up from the calendar in full panic, her face twitching from shock.
"Argh! Nononononononononononono!" Twilight exclaimed as she rushed up to the window upstairs and looks outside, shocked to see that the sun was just nearly reached the peak, meaning that's it now noon. "If I don't send her a letter by sundown, I'll be...TARDY!"
Twilight looked rather panicked as a dynamic background appears around her...until Spike moves the background from dramtic to normal.
"What's that now?" Spike asked as Twilight plopped onto her bed.
"It means that something is late or overdue by it's time, Spike." Comet answered simply.
"Exactly!" Twilight agrees with a groan. "Oh, how could I let this happen?! I'm usually so organized. I've never been late with an assignment."
'For some reason, I find it hard to believe.' Comet mentally thought. "Mom, it's like I said, I'm sure Princess Celestia won't see it as a big deal. You're still studious and smart, either way."
"I'm afraid to take that chance, Comet." Twilight told him. "This is the ruler of all of Equestria we're talking about. The pony who holds my fate in her hooves! What if she doesn't forgive me?"
"Yeah...I don't think she-"
Twilight then starts to panic even more as she teleports behind Spike in an instant.
"What if instead she starts thinking I'm not taking my studies on friendship seriously?" Twilight interrupted.
"Mom, she wouldn't-"
"What if she makes me come back to Canterlot and puts me back in school and makes me prove I've been taking them seriously by giving me a test?!" Twilight continued, cutting Comet off. "What if I don't pass?!"
"In a way, I don't think that has anything to do with your friendship lesson." Comet points out.
"And even if it did, why wouldn't you pass-"
"You guys! She's my teacher!" Twilight exclaimed, getting in their faces and then hopped forward. "Do you know what teachers do to students who don't pass? They send them back a grade!"
Both Spike and Comet facehoof at that.
"But she won't just send me back a grade, she'll send me back to...magic kindergarten." Twilight continued.
Twilight then visions herself in a classroom, sitting a desk surrounded by a various fillies laughing at her and she was freezing up in fear. Spike breaks the fourth wall once again by switching the scene back as if it was blinds on a window. Comet then walks over to his mother, annoyed by everything that she just said.
"Magic kindergarten...? Magic kindergarten?!" Comet shouts in annoyance. "Mom, that's the most stupidest assumption that I have ever heard. You're overreacting! Why not just ask Princess Celestia if she's actually expecting the letter today?"
"I don't want to ask any questions that are obvious." Twilight said.
"That question isn't really obvious? When it comes to Princess Celestia, there's no such thing as a bad question." Comet points out. 'You have nothing to worry about it at all."
"You're right, I have no reason to worry." Twilight said as she stood up.
Comet then sighs with relief from that and Spike nods.
"Great, so why don't we-"
However, Twilight interrupted Comet as she said that wasn't the last of her sentence.
"Because I'm going to solve a friend's problem and get that letter to Princess Celestia before sundown!" Twilight declared.
Spike groans while Comet facehooves at that.
'You've got to be kidding me! I've seen mom get hyperorganized once, but this is on a whole new level.' Comet mentally shouted in annoyance when Twilight goes up to Spike.
"So...got any problems, troubles, conundrums, or any other sort of issues, major or minor, that I as a good friend could help you solve?" Twilight asks with a big smile.
"Well..." Spike pondered. "I have this friend whose...recently kissed Mario on the lips and..."
"Something besides that!" Twilight barked, not wanting to discuss that issue all.
Spike then thinks for a second as hard as he could as Twilight excitedly waits for an answer. However, nothing came up on his mind.
"Huh...I got nothin'." Spike said, leaving Twilight dejected before she sighed.
"Then it looks like I'm going to have to find somepony who does." Twilight said before taking her leave.
"This won't end well." Spike muttered with a sigh.
Twilight then looks toward the entrance of the library, seeing her son tries to leave.
"Oh no you don't!" Twilight shouts, tackled her son outside with her on top of him. "Comet, please tell me that you've got a friendship problem that your mother, Twilight Sparkle, here can fix and learn from it?!"
Comet blushes a little from Twilight being on top of him, but he uses his magic as he pushes her off of him while making his blush go away.
"No, I don't." Comet answered, making Twilight groan in disappointment. "And before you ask...No! I don't know anypony around Ponyville that gets into trouble a lot."
"Okay, so maybe you don't have a friendship problem." Twilight said. "But don't worry, I'm sure that the same thing can't be said about almost everypony around Ponyville."
Twilight then walks off and Comet just sighs, decided to follow her.
'She won't listen to me, so the least I can do now is try and help her out.' Comet mentally thought.
While Comet follows his mother, Twilight looked rather annoyed.
"I can't believe Spike would consider the fact I kissed Mario on the lips as a friendship problem." Twilight complains. "Things are just fine between the two of us now. Sure we don't study anymore, but Mario's still there for me if I need him and..."
Twilight then realized something.
"Mario!" Twilight said. "We do those letters on lessons we learn together. Even if I haven't found a friendship problem, I'm sure he has! Mario has always come through for me in a pinch and even he's already written up his lesson, I can just ask for his insight, take some notes, and then I'll have my own letter!"
Twilight excitedly took off and knocked on the door.
"The door's unlocked!" Mario called from inside.
Twilight looked a little puzzled as she heard some laughter inside. Twilight opened the door to find both Mario and Nya in the kitchen. They were apparently making some sandwiches.
"Umm...What's going on here?" Twilight asked slowly.
"We're just getting some sandwiches and food ready for the picnic later today." Mario said as Nya set some potato chips in a basket. "And some extra in case if Rarity gets some cravings."
"Mario, do you have a minute? I need to speak to you about something." Twilight pleads.
"Is it personal besides the fact that you spend less timing with your son?" Mario asked, while they continued to make some sandwiches.
"No, but...of never mind." Twilight said. "Umm...do you know what today is right?"
"Tuesday..." Mario answered bluntly.
"The day our letter to Princess Celestia is due!" Twilight said with a frantic tone. "I came to see if you've got anything to report. If we don't send something by the end of the day, we'll be...tardy!"
"Now hold on there." Mario said. "Since when did Celestia say we had to deliver a letter each week?"
"Uh...that's what we've been doing this whole time..." Twilight said slowly.
"According to her instructions." Kai said when he approaches. "Princess Celestia said you both must report to her your findings on the magic of friendship here in Ponyville. She never said you guys have to report to her your findings on the magic of friendship here in Ponyville every week."
"Well, we did make a nice little routine of sending her a letter every week since we've got here." Twilight replied quickly. "Don't you think she's gonna be a little concerned if we skip a bit? We've always sent letters on Tuesday! I don't know about you, but I don't want to risk on getting her angry because she finds her mail to us non-existent!"
"I'm sure the princess wouldn't be upset just because we didn't send her a letter this week." Mario said, making Twilight gasped.
"How can you be so calm about this?" Twilight demanded. "We're about to miss an assignment! Doesn't that get you at least a little worried?!"
"No, I've taken many meditation classes with Master Wu on rare occasions." Mario told her. "My point is that weekly deadline doesn't exist. Sure we've made a habit of sending them weekly, but I'm surprised we kept it up this long."
"Surprised?" Twilight repeats with a skeptical look on her face.
"Friendship problems aren't the issues that appear on routine like that." Mario said. "There was bound to be a week where no problems or issues occur. It's like that time we had that book report and the library and bookstores sold out on all the books we needed to complete the assignment."
"Oh please, don't bring that up." Twilight remarked wearily.
"My point is that, you can't do an assignment when there is no material to work with." Mario said. "If Princess Celestia has an issue about, we can just tell her what's going on. She'll understand."
"WHAT?!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Look if it'll make you feel better, I can write to Celestia a letter and tell her what's going on." Mario suggested as he headed over to a desk on the other side, began to write when Twilight pushed him away and pinned him against the wall with her fore-hooves.
"Nononononono!" Twilight pleads. "Please, don't tell the Princess about this!"
"Twilight, everything is going to be fine." Mario said. "Now let go of me so I can write to her."
Twilight looked at him with watery eyes.
"Please, I beg of you!" Twilight pleads as she literally sat on her hind legs and clasped her fore-hooves together to plead. "I'll do anything you want! I'll kiss you again on the lips, I'll date you, I'll be your marefriend! We can get married and start a family! Just please, please, please, don't tell Princess Celestia about this and let me find a friendship problem to solve! Please, please, please!"
Twilight knelt him before him as she looked at him with large eyes.
Mario looked indignant. As much as he would love to have another kiss with Twilight and all those other things. He wanted Twilight to do that cause she was in love with him, not just desperate. Comet wanted his mother to date Mario and be happy, because he considered his godfather a father figure to him. But the fact he told her he got over his crush on her long ago, he could tell that she somehow didn't want that to happen.
"Twilight..."
Mario was about to try to reason with her, but Twilight just gave him a puppy dog pout.
"Okay, okay!" Mario remarked irritably. "But you can't just make a friendship problem appear you know, even if our friends..."
"Our friends!" Twilight exclaimed. "I can go see if our friends have any friendship problems! Mario, you're a genius!"
Twilight then quickly kissed his cheek and took off from the house, with her son in toll.
"Twilight, wait!" Mario called out, but it's too late. "That's not what I...UGH! Why can't she ever listen to me?"
"Just give her some space, Mario." Nya said gently. "When she's ready to help, she'll come back."
Mario just sighed in response, feeling worried about Twilight.
A clock ticking could be heard as the sun made another step across the sky. Twilight and Comet were their way through the town.
"All right then, Comet. I still have plenty of time to get that letter to Princess Celestia! Has to be somepony who needs the help of a good friend!" Twilight said, trying to stay positive. "And it's nice that we can spend time together, just you me as mother and son."
Comet couldn't help but roll his eyes in annoyance.
"I was planning to visit Rarity to see if she's alright, despite of her pregnancy." Comet suggested.
"Rarity!" Twilight said, getting stars in her eye as she quickly rushes to the Carousel Boutique.
Comet was able to catch up to his mother when they made it to the Carousel Boutique, but Twilight notices that Golden Charm was getting the plates and the plastic fork and knives ready for the picnic while Kronk was able to finish the design for Rarity, who's knitting the sweater for the upcoming baby while humming while the Irish colt sings.
Golden Charm (Sings):
Have you ever seen the seagulls
A-flyin' o'er the heather
Or the crimson sails on Galway Bay
The fisherman unfurl?
Oh, the earth is filled with beauty
And it's gathered all together
In the form and face and dainty grace
Of a pretty Irish girl
Oh, she's my dear, my darlin' one
Her eyes so sparklin' full of fun
No other, no other
Can match the likes of her
She's my dear, my darlin' one
My smilin' and beguilin' one
I love the ground she walks upon
My darling Irish girl
The upcoming baby known as Flora Heart is somehow getting the rhythm of the song which made Rarity giggled.
Rarity (Sings):
Have you ever seen the morning in
Kerry and Killarny
When the dew is on the hayrick
And ev'ry drop a pearl?
When the geese are full of blarney
And the thrush is singing Gaelic
And standing in the doorway
Is a pretty Irish girl
Oh, she's my dear, my darlin' one
Her eyes so sparklin' full of fun
No other, no other
Can match the likes of her
She's my dear, my darlin' one
My smilin' and beguilin' one
I love the ground she walks upon
My pretty Irish girl
"Uh...What's going on?" Twilight asked slowly.
"Well, darling, Kronk has finished the latest design that I suggested." Rarity told her, but giggled when Flora Heart felt the rhythm again in her belly. "And Golden Charm is getting some things ready for the picnic. Also, we were singing a song for Flora Heart, which she's enjoying that song."
"What song is it?" Comet asks curiously.
"It's called 'Pretty Irish Girl'." Golden Charm answered. "I use to listen to that song with my grandmother back from Ireland and watching a movie, 'Darby O' Gill and the Little People' in every St. Patty's Day."
Comet nods with an understanding.
"I never knew Flora is really taking a liking to that song." Rarity states. "But after Golden told me, it's really helping her."
"Oh." Twilight said as she then left, leaving Comet alone.
"Comet, is there something wrong with your mother?" Rarity asks when she, Golden Charm, and Kronk were curious.
"You could say that." Comet said with a sigh. "She believes that she needs to turn in her weekly friendship report to Princess Celestia today and she's trying so hard to find a friendship problem."
"Oh, that does sound rather...small." Rarity states, but Comet raised his eyebrow.
"Small? Rarity, I would agree with you on that, but you should really see that she's taking this way too seriously. Shouldn't one of you come with me and try and help her calm down?"
"I would, but I've got Golden help me get to the place before the picnic." Kronk told him.
"Sorry, darling, but I'm still on pregnancy because of the upcoming filly." Rarity apologizes, causing Comet to sigh and left the boutique.
Outside, the sun was still out as Twilight was still walking through Ponyville, thinking of what friendship problems that she can fix as Comet arrives beside her.
"Mom, you've really got to let this go, I mean-"
"Nope! Not another word, Comet!" Twilight cuts in.
"Mom, please!" Comet pleads.
"No! There has to be a friendship problem that I can solve around here!" Twilight argued. "Rarity is just one pony. I'm sure one of our other friends will need me."
"Like who?" Comet inquires curiously.
"Hmm...Applejack!" Twilight answered. "She's always working on the farm, I'm sure she won't mind a little help from her good old pal, Twilight Sparkle!"
"Mom...!"
Twilight ignored her son and just quickly ran off which it got him groaned as he catches up to her.
At Sweet Apple Acres, Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk were wearing safety goggles as they were demolishing a barn by flying in and out, destroying parts of it to pieces. Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk flew down at the barn and both Applejack and Apple Shine could be seen nearby in a ditch, wearing helmets to brace for the impacts that they're making. Both Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk chopped, bucked, and even bit off parts of the barn. She bit off one and threw it outside to where it landed right in front of Twilight and Comet, which surprised both before they looked at the situation in front of them.
"What in the world...?" Twilight exclaimed as she saw Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk charging and smashing the barn. "Rainbow and Storm Hawk must be angry with Applejack and Apple Shine! They must hate their guts! How wonderful!"
"I don't know about that." Comet said, raises his eyebrow. "Even if they're mad, wouldn't Applejack and Apple Shine stop them by now?"
"Comet, look!" Twilight suggested. "Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk is destroying their property!"
"Uh, yeah. And there has to be the reason behind it?" Comet questioned. "Maybe it's just an old barn."
"Looks can be deceiving, Comet." Twilight states, much to Comet's annoyance.
"You're now just twisting this in a way so I can't disagree with you or I look like the one who's wrong." Comet points out, getting tired of Twilight making excuses.
"It wouldn't hurt to ask." Twilight said. "Besides, it what I said is true, then it would make a great report for a friendship problem."
Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk were just about to make a dent in the barn before Twilight grabs their tail with her magic.
"Rainbow Dash! Storm Hawk! Stop!" Twilight called out, earned their attention when she approaches them. "Listen, Rainbow, Storm, I know you're upset with Applejack and Apple Shine, but don't worry. Whatever it is that has come between you four, I'm sure that I, as a good friend, can help you resolve your problems."
Twilight drops both Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk back down to the ground and they just give her a confused look when Comet walks up to them.
"Uh, what are you talking about?" Rainbow Dash questions.
"What she meant to ask is why are you destroying one of the barns?" Comet inquires.
"Oh, because she asked us to." Storm Hawk answered, then turned to Applejack. "Isn't that right?"
"That's right, sugarcube. I wanted to put up a new barn, but this one's gotta come down first." Applejack agreed as she and Apple Shine lifted their helmets off their heads while Comet gives his mother a smug look.
"Oh, would you look at that, I was right. Notice the lack of surprise." Comet said, causing Twilight to roll her eyes.
"So, there's no issues going on between you four whatsoever?" Twilight questions.
"No, we don't have issues with Applejack or Apple Shine." Storm Hawk answered.
"And vice versa." Applejack adds. "Now you two get back to work!"
"You got it, boss!" Rainbow Dash called out as she and Storm Hawk started to ascend into the sky while Applejack and Apple Shine hides back into the ditch.
"Hey! I'd take cover if I were you two." Apple Shine warned them as she and Applejack ducks down.
Comet then sees that both Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk flew so high up and he knew what was probably going to happen next as he uses his magic to grab Twilight before getting both of them to dive into the ditch while forming a barrier. Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk dives down at the barn so hard that it created both an explosion of rainbow smoke and a sonic rainboom.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM! RAINBOW EXPLOSION!
The four that were in the ditch were then piled on with both dirt and debris. Applejack and Apple Shine comes out of the pile and signals to Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk that the job was done. Both Twilight and Comet then come out of the pile of dirt as both of their manes messed up and Comet quickly shakes his head to fix his mane while Twilight just sighed and walks away, disappointed that there wasn't a friendship problem to fix over at Sweet Apple Acres.
Twilight and Comet were now walking over to Fluttershy's cottage and Comet was continuously getting irritated by his mother's efforts to find a friendship problems.
"Mom, we've wasted enough time as it is! And no, I don't mean finding a friendship problem!" Comet said. "And why the heck are we over at Fluttershy's cottage?"
"Fluttershy always has some fear she's trying to get over, Comet." Twilight told her son.
"Maybe, but it's not necessarily every day!" Comet points out. "Besides, what problem could she be having with animals?"
"I don't know, but as a good friend I'll be able to help her and Winter." Twilight said.
Twilight and Comet both walk around the corner of the cottage to find Fluttershy and Winter Breeze right in front of the large bear which roars at them. Comet gets worried at what he's seeing.
"Please tell me that Fluttershy and Winter has an experience in taming bears!" Comet exclaims.
"I don't know, but let's help if this goes sideways." Twilight suggested, also worried.
Both Fluttershy and Winter Breeze then runs under the bear which makes it look under itself before Fluttershy and Winter Breeze does something that both Twilight and Comet weren't expecting at all. They kicked the bear down to the ground and pulls aggressively on it's legs and sticking their rear hooves down into it's shoulder which was making the bear cry. Both Twilight and Comet were speechless at what they're seeing.
"Fluttershy? Winter?" Twilight said in deep shock.
"Even I'm surprised!" Comet exclaimed. "They never acted like this before! It's not like them!"
Fluttershy then finally snaps the bears neck which caused it to lay down flat on the grass. Twilight and Comet simply just jaw dropped at what they saw.
"How can this be happening?!" Twilight asks, still in disbelief. "Of all the days she had to stop being a scaredy-pony, she had to pick today?! What am I going to do?!"
Twilight walks off while Comet was still looking at what he saw speechless before his eyes widen to then see the aftermath of it at all. Fluttershy and Winter Breeze were just trying to give a bear a nice message and sooth some cramps it had.
"You really should have come to us sooner." Fluttershy said, gently rubbing its back. "You were carrying so much tension in that shoulder."
The bear just growled contently with its tongue hanging out of its mouth. Comet simply sighs and smiles that both Fluttershy and Comet didn't become such an aggressive ponies.
With her opportunities to help her friends non-existent, Twilight was now laying on a bench worrying about how much time she has left before the deadline.
"It's fine, it'll all be fine. The day isn't over yet." Twilight told herself before she sat up and looked at the sun in the sky. "But it will be over soon!"
The sun inched closer to the western horizon and more clock ticking could heard. Twilight groaned as she sat on the bench.
"It'll be all over!" Twilight said as she looked at herself in a puddle of water and tears began to fall from her eyes. "My time in Ponyvile! My advanced studies!"
Twilight then recomposed herself.
"Nono! You're a good student. You can do this." Twilight told her reflection as she rubbed her hooves, gave herself a hoof pump to emphasize her point.
"Ooh! But what if I can't?" Twilight's reflection asks with a fearful and worried look on her face.
"You can!" Twilight told her reflection, which was on a verge of tears. "You just need to keep it together. Keep. It. Together."
Twilight sternly stared at her reflection as she leaned her face at the water. Both Spike and Comet then come to Twilight and they both saw the whole thing as Spike was carrying the box of cupcakes. Spike turns to Comet, confused by what he just saw.
"Is she talking to...herself?" Spike asks, feeling uneasy.
"It sure looks like it." Comet answered with a sigh.
Spike then waves his hand in front of Twilight's face to get her attention, but it goes unnoticed.
"Twilight?" Spike called her.
"Mom? Are you there?" Comet asks.
Twilight then hears fillies laughing as they are playing each other, but that just gave her a mental image of the same magic kindergarten that she was talking about earlier. Spike breaks the fourth wall once more by popping the mental image out of her mind with his claw.
"SNAP OUT OF IT!?" Spike and Comet yelled sternly.
"Huh?" Twilight said, realizing that she's on the ground as she got up and just sees a couple of fillies jump roping with each other, but her mane and tail looks even more frazzled.
Comet then looks at his mother with a serious glare.
"Mom, enough already!" Comet said. "You been trying to find friendship problems for so long in a short amount of time that it lead to you getting stressed out!"
"It's been making both of us worried." Spike adds, but Twilight wasn't listening to them and blinking, rubbing her eyes, blinked again, and just sat facing away from them with a slight wobble to her stance. "I mean this letter thing is really getting to you. Here. You've been so anxious all day that you completely forgot about the picnic. Why don't you just relax and go hang out with-"
"The picnic!" Twilight exclaimed, turn towards the two with a slight crazed look on her face which made both Comet and Spike jump back in shock. Twilight takes the box of cupcakes that Spike was holding and she runs off. "I should go see my friends!"
"I'm glad you've come to your senses." Spike said with a sigh of relief.
"Spike, something tells me that that's not what happened." Comet states. "Come on, let's get over to our friends before mom does."
Comet picks up Spike with his magic and teleports both of them.
The Mane 6, the 5 young ponies, Nya, Kai, and Kronk were setting everything they could up for the picnic that they were having and Rarity was helping Golden Charm getting ready to sort out the silverware and plates.
"Thank you, dear." Rarity thanked him. "You and Kronk have been a good help. I couldn't image what would happen if we're missing something."
"It's no problem, we made sure we got everything." Golden Charm points out with a smile.
Comet then appears and Spike sits down.
"Comet! You're here!" Pinkie Pie said happily, rushes up and hugs her godson tightly.
"Uh, Pinkie...can't breath..." Comet grunts.
"Mom, let go, he can't breath." Rose Lotus said, causing Pinkie Pie to break a hug.
"Oops, sorry." Pinkie Pie apologized with a giggle.
"Where's Twilight?" Apple Shine asks. "Isn't she with you?"
"That's the reason why I'm here." Comet told her.
"What's that?" Applejack inquires.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Mario questions.
"Mom has gone insane! And I mean really insane!" Comet said. "She's been overreacting all day with trying to get a letter to Princess Celestia that got too stressed out."
Mario, Kai, and Nya knew that this would happen, but the 6 mares, Kronk, and the 5 young ponies then looked at each other for a second before they did something that Comet didn't expect them to do at all. They started laughing which made Comet confused.
"What's so funny?" Comet asks.
"No offense, Comet, but that sounds like the most ridiculous thing that Twilight would get worked up about." Storm Hawk told him, but Spike intervenes.
"No, we're being serious!" Spike said sternly. "Twilight's on her way right now and she's going to try and probably say the exact problem that Comet just said."
"Sure, Spike." Rainbow Dash said sarcastically. "I'm sure that the egghead of all of us would panic over something like that."
"We're being serious!" Comet shouts.
"Comet, calm down." Nya assures him. "If her stress is that bad, we'll try to reason with her."
Comet then nods with an understanding as Rainbow Dash then lays down on the blanket set out for the 14 of them while wearing sunglasses. Suddenly, a box then lands behind Rainbow Dash, prompting her to look up and what she sees is Twilight with a crazed smile on her face with mane and tail all messed up. Rainbow Dash backs away from Twilight as the rest of the group were a little creeped out from how she was looking at them.
"I told you." Comet said.
"Whoa!" Kai exclaimed, leaned away nervously. "You're not kidding!"
"You alright, hun?" Applejack asked, stepped forward.
"No! I am not alright!" Twilight said loudly with large eyes.
They were all surprised by this as they all started to mutter to her what's wrong, yet Comet, Spike, Mario, Kai, and Nya already knew the answer.
"It's just terrible!" Twilight told them with her head down.
"Yes?" The 11 ponies said at once, leaning forward.
"Simply awful!" Twilight said, worried.
"Yes?!" The 11 ponies asked, leaning forwards again.
"It's the most horrific trouble I've ever been in and I really, really, really need your help!" Twilight pleaded when Comet rolled his eyes at that.
"YES?!" The ponies repeated, now feeling very worried and concerned.
"My...Our...letter to Princess Celestia is almost overdue, and I haven't learned anything about friendship!" Twilight told them, pressing both her fore-hooves to her head and looking at them with worried eyes.
The 12 ponies then just simply sighed in relief at which Comet was simply surprised at their calm reaction.
"This again." Mario muttered.
"Oh, thank goodness." Fluttershy said. "I thought something really awful had happened."
Twilight was taken aback, making a groan that sounded like she's being strangled. Twilight then panic as she teleported all over the place.
"Something awful has happened!" Twilight exclaimed before teleporting to Rarity, making her do a spit take. "If I don't turn in the letter on time, I'll be tardy! TARDY!"
Mario, Nya, and Kai just looked worried as they just simply giggle at that which made Twilight's face turn a tiny shade of red in anger and Comet just facehooves that they're weren't taking any of what his mother seriously.
"No offense, sugarcube." Applejack said as she gently pushed Twilight away with both her fore-hooves. "But it looks like somepony's gettin' themselves all worked up over nothin'."
"This is not nothing!" Twilight snapped before she swatted Applejack's hooves away from her. "This is everything!"
Twilight then scurried across the picnic blanket, moving from Rainbow Dash to Fluttershy.
"I need you guys to help me find somepony with a problem I can fix before sundown!" Twilight cried out as she stopped moving around, then glared sternly at Pinkie Pie. "My whole life depends on it!"
"Oh, Twilight, you're such a crack-up!" Pinkie Pie said with a giggle before started to laugh.
"Come on now." Apple Shine said as Twilight just glared at the others. "Have a seat and stop sweatin' the small stuff."
Comet walks over to her and puts his hoof on her fore-hoof.
"Mom, before you do anything else, take a deep breath and-"
Twilight ignores Comet as she just groans in anger and teleports somewhere else.
"Wow, I've never seen Twilight so upset before." Fluttershy told the other, but Comet turns to glare at them.
"Do you all not understand how important this is to mom?" Comet asks. "I mean sure, it's not that a big of a deal, but still we should at least calm her down about it?"
"Darling, if you ask me she's simply being a drama queen?" Rarity said.
They then turned to Rarity with judgmental looks on their faces.
"Like you have room to talk, Rarity." Comet, Storm Hawk, and Mario said in a deadpan look on their faces.
"Well...relatively speaking." Rarity said sheepishly.
"Oi! Don't push it!" Golden Charm warned her in annoyance.
"Listen to me, mom has been exaggerating over her report to Princess Celestia and she believes that if she doesn't learn a lesson in friendship by sundown, then she'll be sent back to Canterlot." Comet told them.
The 11 ponies then were listening more to what Comet was saying as they're surprised to hear that.
"That won't happen...will it?" Rose Lotus asks.
"I don't know, but we need to confirm it." Comet said. "This is mom we're talking about. She visions that if she doesn't turn in he report, she could be sent back to magic kindergarten."
The 11 ponies looked at each other before catching on to what Comet was saying.
"Magic Kindergarten?" Fluttershy repeats in shock.
"Canterlot?" Rainbow Dash added in a same tone.
"We may never see Twilight again!" Pinkie Pie said as she covered her face with her fore-hooves. "And the Princess might even send you and Mario away too!"
"Uh, what are we gonna do, y'all?" Applejack asked, worried as she put a comforting fore-hoof on Pinkie Pie's back.
"I have an idea on how we can confirm all of this." Mario said, then turns to Spike. "Spike, I need you to write a quick letter to Princess Celestia."
"Sure thing, but the quills and parchment are back at the library." Spike told him.
The 15 ponies then all run off to go to the Golden Oak Library.
At the Golden Oak Library, which for some reason Twilight wasn't at for the time. Spike was writing a quick letter to Princess Celestia while Comet was giving them an explanation.
"And then we went over to Fluttershy's cottage and that's when we thought at first that you and Winter were attacking the bear, but instead you were giving it a massage." Comet said.
"That's because that bear actually came to me and mom today because of its bad cramp in its shoulder." Winter Breeze told him.
"So, that's all of why Twilight was so worked up about getting a friendship lesson all day?" Golden Charm asks curiously.
"Pretty much." Comet replied. "Spike and I tried to stop her and get her to calm down, but if we know mom, she takes things way too seriously."
"I guess we kind of thought that it wasn't a big deal since it was Twilight's problem." Rainbow Dash states.
"Then why were you guys being so insensitive and not take anything she said seriously?" Nya asks sternly.
"Well, she was looking kind of crazy looking the more I think about it." Pinkie Pie said with a ponder.
"And she was being so panicky like a whole bunch of apple trees timberin' down at once." Applejack adds.
"And none of that gave you signs that you needed to help out mom?" Comet questions.
The 5 mares, 5 young ponies, and Kronk then had guilty looks from that.
"Look, some situations may not be that big of a deal, but that doesn't mean it's not important to another individual." Mario points out. "And when somepony believes that it's important to them, you should talk it out with them, not brush it off like it's just some bug on your shoulder."
"You're right." Rarity agrees. "We should've talked it out with Twilight. Now I'm actually worried of how she's feeling right now."
"With how she's been lately, I'd just hope it hasn't gotten any worse." Comet said, worried.
"Comet, Mario, it's done!" Spike called out, finished the parchment.
"Great. Send it on over, Spike." Comet said.
Spike then breathes his magic fire on that scroll, sending it over to Princess Celestia.
"So, what do we do now?" Fluttershy inquires.
"I'd say we go and find Twilight, I mean we've got to get her to calm down and talk to us after all of the craziness she's been through." Rainbow Dash suggests.
"I agree, Rainbow Dash." Rarity agrees. "Let's go see where Twilight is."
"All right then." Mario replied. "Spike, can you stay in case Princess Celestia comes to the library first?"
Spike saluted with a nod as they decided to go back to where the picnic area was since that's where they last saw Twilight, but when they got there, something really weird was happening. A crowd of ponies could be seen fighting over a doll with heart shapes in their eyes. They were just surprised of what's happening.
"What in the name of all things oats n' apples is goin' on here?!" Applejack and Apple Shine asked, turned to Pinkie Pie as Mario stood beside his friends, not very happy and knew somepony was in trouble.
"I can make a pretty good guess." Mario snarled as the ponies continued their pursuit of Mayor Mare.
"The Want It, Need It spell. Why am I not surprised?" Comet asked with an angry glare.
And just when a couple of Pegasi dropped it, the doll landed on the ground nearby. Rainbow Dash almost looked at it, but luckily, Twilight suddenly appeared and covered her eyes before any bad things could happen.
"Don't look at it!" Twilight called out.
"Don't look at what?" Rarity asked curiously.
"My Smarty Pants doll." Twilight answered, letting go of Rainbow's head so she tumbled into her back. "I enchanted her and now everypony is fighting over her!"
The other ponies had broken up into smaller fights as the doll began to bounce from one flight cloud to the next.
"Mom, that was stupid!" Comet shouts sternly. "You could've got somepony hurt! What were you thinking?!"
"I don't know why me and Comet even bother trying to help you anymore, Twilight Sparkle!" Mario yelled, making Twilight cower back as he got into her face. "You never listen to me or your son! We told you everything was going to be fine! WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST TRUST ME?!"
"I'm sorry! I had to try and send something!" Twilight protested. "I thought if I couldn't find a friendship problem, I'd make a friendship problem! The day is almost over!"
"Not almost." Applejack said as the sun slowly made its way past the horizon, declaring that the day was over.
Twilight then drops down to the ground in defeat that she couldn't accomplish getting her report in on time.
"TWILIGHT SPARKLE!"
A voice was then heard as the 15 ponies look up to see Princess Celestia with a serious look on her face.
"Whoa...nelly." Applejack said as she and Apple Shine removed their hats.
Princess Celestia then glows her horn and a white flash was made all over the area and everypony that was fighting over the Smarty Pants doll was no longer fighting and the spell was broken. Mayor Mare felt rather embarrassed as her face turned red. She just stomped the doll, making it give a loud squeak as she and the other ponies dispersed, leaving Big Mac and the doll on the ground. Big Mac looked around for a couple of seconds and then grabbing the doll, giving a loud neigh, and he ran off with it, showing that he genuinely wanted the doll by the hearts in his eyes.
Mario, Applejack, and Apple Shine watched him run off with disturbed looks on their faces.
"What is seen cannot be unseen." Mario remarked as Applejack and Apple Shine nodded in agreement before turning their attention towards Princess Celestia, who's still glaring sternly at Twilight.
Twilight had a guilty look on her face as she looked at the princess.
"You and your friends. Meet me in the library." Princess Celestia told her sternly.
"Your majesty, please..."
"That includes you too, Mario Star." Princess Celestia added, making Mario stop before he glared at Twilight and sighed as she took off.
"Oh no. I'm going to sent back to Canterlot in magic kindergarten." Twilight said sadly. "At least the princess will let me give a final goodbye to my friends before I go."
At the Golden Oak Library, Twilight explained everything to Princess Celestia and she listened very clearly, and she states that she didn't care about not getting a friendship letter this week.
"But...but...I'm supposed to send you a letter of friendship every week." Twilight said. "I missed the deadline. I'm a bad student! I'm...tardy!"
"You are a wonderful student, Twilight. I don't need to get a letter every week to know that." Princess Celestia said when Mario and Comet quietly nodded with an agreement.
"Really?" Twilight asked in confusion, lifted her head to look at Princess Celestia.
"Yes, and it seems you let this get to your head that it led you causing an unneeded problem." Princess Celestia replied.
"I'm really sorry, Princess." Twilight apologizes.
"Actually, it wasn't entirely her fault." Applejack said which it got her attention.
"I'm listening." Princess Celestia said.
"Please, your highness. We all saw that Twilight was upset." Fluttershy said, sat next to Princess Celestia.
"But we thought that the thing she was worrying about wasn't worth worrying about." Rainbow Dash adds.
"So, when she ran off all worked up, not a single one of us tried to stop her." Apple Shine said as Pinkie Pie gave Twilight a comforting nuzzle under the chin. "Well...Mario and Comet did, but...we should have as well."
Comet then walks to his mother.
"Mom, I kept trying to tell you to just ask Princess Celestia and this could've all been avoided." Comet told her. "I mean, don't you trust me?"
"Of course I do. It's just that-"
"Twilight, Comet Stardust is your son." Princess Celestia interrupted. "You spend less time with him ever since the previous event with Discord. Do you really believe that he would give a such flawed advice?"
"No." Twilight said with a sigh in defeat, knew that Princess Celestia was right when Mario approached her.
"Twilight, some things maybe important, but that doesn't mean that you should take it too seriously and start doing unneeded intentions." Mario told her. "Next time, just take an advice and see how it works out."
Twilight replied with a nod.
"And as Twilight's good friends, we should have taken her feelings seriously and been there for her." Rarity said.
"It's not cool when you can't help out your friend, even if what they say isn't really too big of a deal." Rainbow Dash adds.
Princess Celestia then simply just smiles.
"Looks like you all learned a pretty valuable lesson today." Princess Celestia remarked as they all looked at her sadly which they nodded with a reply. "Very well, I'll forget Twilight's 'punishment' on one condition."
The others all agreed to Princess Celestia's condition as she gracefully leaped over them towards the door, leading to the balcony.
"From the day forth, I would like you all to report me your findings on the magic of friendship when, and only when, you happen to discover them." Princess Celestia informed them as she gave Twilight and Mario a wink.
Everypony cheered as Pinkie Pie bounced around and Rainbow Dash wraped a hood around Twilight for a side hug. Then, Twilight realized something and went after Princess Celestia.
"Princess Celestia, wait!" Twilight called her, earned her attention when she was about to leave. "How did you know that I was in trouble?"
"Your friend, Spike, and your son, Comet made me aware that you were letting your fears get the best of you." Princess Celestia explained as Spike got caught eavesdropping and went into hiding while the others appeared in view. "I commend them for taking your feelings seriously. And before I go, I do have one more favor to ask you."
"What is it, Princess?" Twilight inquires when Princess Celestia leaned into her ear.
"You know as well as I do that a girl doesn't just kiss a guy on the lips because they are your best friends." Princess Celestia points out. "I know over what happened with Discord, but I feel like things between you have still been left unresolved. And I know you were happier together."
"You're right." Twilight said with a sigh. "But I'm afraid, Princess. Even...I don't know why I did that. And that's the truth."
"All I ask is that you be honest with my other faithful student and try spending more time with your son." Princess Celestia suggested with a smile. "It's the reason why I summoned both you and not just you alone. So, please talk things out before the day is over."
Twilight just smiled and gave her a nod.
"Now, if you all excuse me, I must return to Canterlot. I'm expecting some mail." Princess Celestia said as she then flies off and teleports back to Canterlot while Twilight walks back inside to where her friends are.
"Y'all heard the Princess." Applejack said. "Spike, take a letter."
Spike pulls out a quill and parchment and Twilight decides to give him a quick hug for looking out for her. Twilight then turned to Comet and spoke.
"Comet, I...I'm really sorry for not listening you...for being so hard on you...and for not spending time with you..." Twilight said when her eyes began to build up in tears. "Ever since the events with Discord, you and your friends took a very big risk on fighting him...And it had me worried that he'll kill you and your friends! And if that happens, I'll never forgive myself...and my friends won't hear the end of it! I don't want to lose you! I almost lost you more than once! I need you, Comet! I need you with me. I don't like the fact you're spending less time with me! I miss spending time with you! I...I miss you...I miss having you here when I need you the most...I miss for being a mother..."
Twilight then turns to Mario.
"And you Mario...I know what you're gonna say to the Princess, and you would know I would never be happy if you left!" Twilight continued sadly as her voice cracked and she lost her grip on all the tears she's been holding back.
She knew right then and there that she couldn't hold inside what was really troubling her.
"None of us would be if you left us. We all want you here in Ponyville!" Twilight said. "I want you here in Ponyville! I need you, Mario! I need you with me in the library. I don't like the fact you're studying on your own! I miss when we worked together! I...I...miss...you...I miss you having you here...being there for me...helping me...and just such a loving and caring friend..."
Twilight began to cry as Mario and Comet slowly walked up to her. They were about to pull her into a hug when she lifted her head to look at them. The others just watch quietly, wondering what would happen.
"Just before we save our kids, I remember you trying to tell me that you were about to lose hope, because you felt broken." Twilight said in a broken tone. "But you didn't get fooled by him. And I saw you how you're starting to lose hope. I wanted to just show you how much your friendship was meant to me."
"Is that why you kissed me on the lips?" Mario asked.
"Yes." Twilight said as her tears continued to stream down to her cheeks. "Nothing else felt good enough. Plus...it was our first time ever kissing on the lips at the Grand Galloping Gala, making it your first kiss. Then the other was when Discord took over. Well...just so you know...at the Grand Galloping, that was my first time kissing a colt on a lips too. That was my first kiss."
Twilight then blushed when she admitted that little fact. Mario blinked as the girls couldn't resist cooing while the boys chuckled a little, except Spike who just stuck a finger in his mouth.
"Wow, am I really so important to you that you would give me such a rare gift?" Mario asks surprisingly when Twilight smiled. "Twilight, I know you remembered me saying that I got over my crush on you, but I still feel like I don't understand if it's I got over it."
"Sorry if I upset you by doing that." Twilight continued. "I mean...I do like you too. And I mean like you, but...I'm still not sure if it's love or not. I've spent nights just trying to find an answer because I know I never wanted to hurt you. Even when you said you got over your crush on me long ago. I don't want to give you false hopes. I want you to be happy..."
"Hey, I always keep you and the girls in line." Mario said with a smirk. "I'm not the one you and the others should fool with."
Twilight smiled as her tears still flowed out of her eyes. Both Mario and Comet smiled as they embraced Twilight tenderly as she lost her voice in her tears. Twilight couldn't help but cry a little harder while the two held her. The other ponies just smiled at each other as the Mane 5 starts embracing their kids while Kronk, Kai, and Nya shed in a few tears at the moment.
"So, you miss me and Comet, and want us to come back to studying with you and spending time." Mario said as he and Comet then pulled away. Mario used a fore-hoof to wipe away Twilight's tears. "Alright then, but I may have one condition."
"Name it." Twilight said, wiping her eyes.
"I want to make you a new schedule that will help you complete everything you need to do while still spending time with your son and making time with your friends. And it will allow for the two of us to spend some real time together." Mario said. "I keep feeling like that it was because of your fear and insecurities why you have gotten too hyper-organized in recent days. And Twilight, you need to know that Comet needs you and I know you need him too. He misses spending time with you and he's worried about you. And I can help you not feel like you have to be so controlling over your daily life and have some flexibility when the unexpected does occur. Remember, you're not alone with your problems anymore. We've all learned a valuable lesson about being there for each other. We're always here for you."
Twilight looked at Mario and then the rest of her friends smiled.
"And spending more time one on one might help us find out if we're meant to be more than friends." Mario continued. "If...you're willing to leave that door open?"
"I think that's fair." Twilight said with a chuckle. "After all, I'd do like to spend some time with my son."
Mario and Comet laughed as the three shared a warm hug as the rest of the ponies cheered.
A little while later, they were all gathered at a podium as Applejack and Apple Shine lowered their hats to began what was going to be a group letter.
"Dear Princess Celestia." Applejack began. "We're writin' to you because today we all learned a little somethin' about friendship."
"We learned that you should take your friends worries seriously." Fluttershy said, hugging Winter Breeze.
"And sometimes even their volition as well." Comet adds.
"Even if you don't think that he or she has anything to worry about." Rainbow Dash added as she messes Storm Hawk's mane.
"And that you shouldn't let your worries turn a small problem..." Rarity added as she sat comfortably on a purple pillow while hugging Golden Charm.
"...into an enormously huge entire-town-in-total-chaos-Princess-has-to-come-and-save-the-day-problem." Pinkie Pie said as she made a pose and plopped to the floor, causing Rose Lotus to giggle while hugging her mother.
"And that good friends should never be afraid to admit that they need each other and can tell one another what's bothering them or in their mind." Mario concluded as Twilight nodded in agreement while hugging Comet.
"Signed, you loyal subjects." Applejack and Apple Shine finished.
"P.S." Spike began as he write his own opinion. "Obviously, Spike did not have to learn a lesson, because he is the best, most awesome friend a pony could ask for. Unlike everypony else, he took things seriously and-"
"Spike!" Mario, Nya, Kai, and Kronk said sternly as both Twilight and Comet walked up to him, shaking their heads.
Spike then noticed everypony giving him a very judgmental glares.
"Eheh...uh...yeah..." Spike said sheepishly. "I'll just...um..."
Spike then crosses out what he just write down about his snarky remarks. The ponies then all just share a laugh while Spike simply snorts out a small huff of smoke that he didn't get to write his part down.
That's it for the 4th chapter.
