This is the 10th chapter. I don't own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
VannaSFM: No can do! I've already got other stories to work like: 'Helluva Boss: White Hellhound', 'Straw Hats Dragoon Vol 3', and 'MHA: New Justice League'.
The Mysterious Mare Do Well
On day at the CMC clubhouse, it was loaded with various ponies young and adult. They had all gathered today for a special meeting. The Rainbow Dash Fan Club meeting with Scootaloo as the de facto club president. As one looked inside of the clubhouse, they could see decorations, posters, and pictures of Rainbow Dash had been posted just about everywhere. Some were either wearing tees with Rainbow Dash's picture on them, rainbow wigs, or both.
"Attention, everypony!" Scootaloo called out, wearing a rainbow wing on her head as she stood by a pulpit. She was trying to get everyone settled down for the club meeting. "Attention! The official Rainbow Dash Fan Club will come to order. Let's get right down to our first order of business. I motion that Rainbow Dash be declared the most awesome pony in Ponyville."
"I second the motion, and I might add that if you looked up the word 'awesome' in the dictionary, there would be a picture of Rainbow Dash." Snails said, wearing a white t-shirt that had a pink heart with Rainbow Dash in the center of the heart.
The ponies nodded with an agreement.
"I object." Snips said, wearing a white t-shirt that had a pink heart with Rainbow Dash in the center of the heart.
The other ponies and Scootaloo gasps as Snips approached the pulpit.
"I think the word 'awesome' is played out!" Snails points out. "Rainbow Dash deserves better! I motion we declare her the most stupendous pony!"
"'Stupendous'?" Scootaloo repeats, raised her eyebrow. "Is that the best you've got? I motion that we declare her...wonderiffic!"
"Astonishing!" Snips said.
"Breathtaking!" Scootaloo said.
"Astounding!" Snips said.
"Bedazzling!" Scootaloo said.
"What about super-ultra-extreme-awesomazing?" The muffled voice suggested.
The other ponies agreed, but they have no idea who came up with that word.
"All in favor of declaring Rainbow Dash the most 'super-ultra-extra-uh-whatever you said' pony in all of Ponyville." Scootaloo declared. "Say 'Aye'!"
"Aye!" The entire fan club said at once and cheered.
Outside of the clubhouse was none other than Rainbow Dash, giggled since she had been the one suggesting the new 'word' to the Fan Club. Mario, who's hanging out with her that day, shook his head in annoyance. Storm Hawk is also hanging out with his mother, who's also annoyed of her ego and her antics.
"Seriously, dog, overhearing at the clubhouse is a bad habit." Storm Hawk told her.
"And something tells me this is gonna be a long day for Rainbow to brag about." Mario adds, before he and Storm Hawk walking off.
"Well, I'm sure he did had a lot of fans back in his days, but as they say: 'Wu was great, but now he's out of date'." Rainbow Dash said with a laugh.
"Oh, girl, you didn't!" Storm Hawk said with a gasp in shock.
Mario growled in anger when Rainbow Dash insulted his mentor, but he recomposes himself as he glared at her.
"One of these days, Rainbow, you're gonna learn what it's like to have your fans move on from you and admire somepony else." Mario warned her. "Let's see you laugh at him then."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Rainbow Dash said, dismissing his remark.
Mario and Storm Hawk rolled their eyes at her as they decided to leave.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony
Ahhhh
My Little Pony
I use to wonder what friendship could be
My Little Pony
Until you all share this magic with me
Big adventure,
Tons of fun,
A beautiful heart,
Faithful and strong,
Sharing kindness
It's an easy feat
And magic makes it all complete
You all have my little ponies
Do you know all you're my best friends
The next day, Rainbow Dash was just enjoying herself as she was jumping and swimming around the various collection of clouds.
"What a beautiful day." Rainbow Dash said with a content sigh. "There's nothing like a dip in the clouds to make a Pegasus feel super relaxed."
Suddenly, she heard something down below her as she peeked over the cloud.
"Help! Help! Help! Help!" A young pony named Aura shouted.
She had somehow fallen inside of an old well that had been boarded up on the top. Rainbow Dash looked at the well with determination.
"Looks like my sky swim will have to wait!" Rainbow Dash said as she flew down into the well, smashing the remaining boards off the top. "I'm Rainbow Dash, and I'm here to rescue you!"
As Rainbow Dash was down in the well, several other ponies had gathered around, including the Mane 5, the 7 foals, Kronk, Mario, Kai, Nya, and Zane.
They were rather worried until Rainbow Dash came flying out, carrying a filly named Aura, who's rather dirty. The little filly was a frazzled at first before she smiled, hugged Rainbow Dash's neck. The ponies nearby began to cheer for her. Rainbow Dash blushed and smiled nervously as she lands, letting Aura hop off her back.
"Wow, what's with the crowd?" Rainbow asks sheepishly as they gathered around her. "Uh, thanks, everypony. It was really no big deal."
"To me, it is!" Aura said. "You're my hero, Rainbow Dash!"
The ponies cheered for her once more, making Rainbow Dash blush and smile again as she took off into the sky.
"That Rainbow Dash sure is something." Scootaloo said.
"Something special." Snips and Snails said all together.
Mario and Storm Hawk just sighed in annoyance, rolled their eyes which both Applejack and Apple Shine took notice.
"Are you two jealous?" Applejack asked as the rest of the ponies looked at them.
"Not really, it's just annoying." Mario said. "Master Wu used to have some fan ponies, but he only focuses on training us in martial arts and elements, and his own shop that involves tea."
"Rainbow Dash is great, and Wu's out of date." Scootaloo and some of the fan ponies chanted as they walk by.
It got Mario, Kai, Nya, and Zane's blood boil, glaring at them. Then, Mario just heaved with a heavy sigh before walking away. The other were watching him walk away before they turned their attention to Zane.
"Was it really bad for him?" Twilight asks with concern.
"It is." Zane replied. "After what we have learned recently, everypony now chanting about this one too many. Every time we heard that, it felt like we were insulted."
"And Master Wu is still alive. They better be lucky that he's at the summit." Nya adds. "Otherwise, they'll have to face the consequences if Master Wu is here."
"Besides, when it comes to insult Master Wu, that crosses the line." Kai adds.
They all knew that they're right about it since Master Wu isn't around to hear that chant, which they looked worried if he's here.
Later on, things were nice and quiet, until...
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!
A pony named Millie shrieked at the top of her lungs as her baby carriage, which had her foal, Cream Puff, inside was rolling away down from the steep hill. Cream Puss just cried loudly as the carriage weaved down the path. Some other ponies noticed the runaway carriage, but were too surprised to try and stop it themselves. Rainbow Dash was just lounging around a nearby cloud as she poked her head out of it and went after the carriage. As the carriage began to pick up speed, Rainbow Dash picked up her pace as she saw the carriage was heading towards a cliff.
Grabbing hold of the carriage with her teeth, she used her hind legs to bring the carriage stopped just inches from the edge of the cliff. Several other ponies, including the rest of the Mane 7, the 7 foals, Kronk, and 3 Elemental Masters, watched the scene unfold from below, looked worried. Once Rainbow Dash had stopped the carriage, they began to cheer. Rainbow Dash began to blush and smile once more at all the attention. She began to take a bow when she suddenly gasped dramatically.
"Oh no!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "There's something wrong with the baby!"
The other ponies gasped as Rainbow Dash reached into the carriage and pulled out Cream Puff with a single fore-hoof.
"She's not cheering for everypony's favorite hero, Rainbow Dash!" Rainbow Dash bragged as the other ponies began to cheer for her once more, except for her friends.
Millie was also smiling as Rainbow Dash went to hand the foal to her. Then a flash was seen and Rainbow Dash saw some ponies taking her pictures. Rainbow Dash then tossed Cream Puff to Millie like it was just a toy, earned a glare from Millie as she caught the foal and walked away. However, Rainbow Dash was too busy posing for the camera to take notice. The rest of her friends walked up to her with Pinkie Pie being the only one smiling, the others just gave her blank face or indignant faces.
"There just aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe Rainbow Dash's awesomeness!" Scootaloo said excitedly as Rainbow Dash continued to pose for the pictures.
"I've seen self-centered celebrities been on the photos before, but this takes the cake." Golden Charm states.
"I can think of a few new words." Twilight said.
"And I bet 'modest' is not one of them." Applejack told her.
"More like she's egotistical." Apple Shine states.
"Cocky." Comet and Daylight adds.
"Overconfident." Rose Lotus and Winter Breeze adds.
"Narcissist." Storm Hawk and Golden Charm adds.
Mario just didn't say anything as he looked away sadly.
"Oh, don't be sad." Twilight said. "I think you're awesome in your own way."
Twilight kissed Mario on the cheek, making him go wide-eyed before he blushed as a small smile appeared on his face. Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash flew up a bit, blowing some kisses before the cheering ponies, then crafted a cloud into her lightning bolt cutie mark, and flew off into the sky.
"So much for modesty." Kai said.
"No, but she is kinda awesome." Twilight states.
"Awesomely annoying." Storm Hawk points out in annoyance.
"True, but I just hope she doesn't let it go to her head." Mario said quietly.
"It might be too late for that, Uncle Mario." Apple Shine told him.
Sometime later, three elderly ponies were just chattering on a balcony when a fourth elderly pony arrived to join the conversation. However, as he walked over to the others, there was a loud noise that sounded like wood splintering. The elderly ponies then saw a huge crack forming across the balcony as the entire platform began to tilt downward. The other ponies noticed the cracking balcony from below. Any minute, it could break off completely, sending the four elderly ponies into a serious accident.
"Never fear, your friendly neighborhood Rainbow Dash is here!" Rainbow Dash announced.
It was then the balcony broke away, causing the four elderly ponies to scream. But Rainbow Dash was able to slow their descent by grabbing the balcony and setting it down gently on the ground below. The four elderly ponies were relieved as the ponies watches the heroic event cheered for her.
"We'd be lost without you!" One pony shouted.
"You're our hero, Rainbow Dash!" Another pony shouted as Rainbow Dash rose into the air with a now cocky smile on her face.
"Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash!" The ponies cheered.
"I can't hear you!" Rainbow Dash chanted with her fore-hoof against her ear.
"Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash!" The ponies chanted loudly as Rainbow Dash raised her fore-hooves up and down to encourage the crowd. She then began to do 'the snake' with her fore-hooves and does a twirl in the air before giving a hoof-pump.
"Oh, that's just not right." Mario said with a glare.
"Call me silly, but I think this whole hero thing might be going to Rainbow Dash's head." Twilight said.
The others all shared the same looks of concern and annoyance.
"You may be right...silly." Pinkie Pie answered as Twilight, Rose Lotus, Comet, and Daylight looked indignant.
She wasn't actually expected somepony to call her that.
At Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie Pie, Rose Lotus, Apple Shine, Storm Hawk, and Applejack continued to watch Rainbow Dash brag about her heroics. Twilight, Comet, and Daylight looked rather stunned at the large crowd willing to listen to Rainbow Dash.
"And then I zoomed into the well." Rainbow Dash told them, wearing a pair of shades like she was some sort of celebrity and paced before the crowd of ponies. "I knew it would be dark and dangerous, but I didn't let that stop me. Danger's my middle name. Rainbow 'Danger' Dash..."
"I thought it was Ashleigh." Twilight mumbled.
"It's not, though some ponies think my middle name is Andrea, but it's actually Diane. No idea where that comes from." Pinkie Pie points, causing Twilight to roll her eyes.
"Thinking about it, I acted pretty awesomely heroic that day." Rainbow Dash continued.
"'That day'." Spike repeats as he jotted down what was being said in the notebook.
He was wearing a trench coat, white work shirt, a tie, and a fedora hat to make himself look like a classic-style reporter/journalist.
"Awesomely heroic that day and awesomely arrogant ever since." Applejack muttered to the other ponies as Pinkie Pie, Apple Shine, Rose Lotus, Twilight, and Daylight nodded.
"Amen to that." Storm Hawk, Comet, and Golden Charm agrees.
"Ain't that the truth, Mario?" Applejack asked, turns to her brother. "Mario?"
Mario, however, glared as even his eyes looked like he was zoning out. For some reason, he was seeing himself being tormented by ponies.
You still think you can be the Master of Nature? Forget it! Bolobo's not here anymore!
You'll never be like him since he died long ago!
He then flashback to a conversation with his mentor.
Mario, I've seen you been down lately after what happened to Bolobo years ago. You can't let them get to you.
I know, but they always see me as an easy target. I usually stood up to them and defend myself. Maybe I wasn't cut out for being the Master of Nature. I should continue my training.
Sigh...look, Mario. I know things haven't been easy for you since Bolobo was murdered, but you can't dwell in the past forever. You have to look forward to your own future. Because if you don't, you won't be able to stand up for yourself. You need to start fighting your own battles and not be afraid.
The next two flashbacks featured Mario fought back against the bullies out of self-defense, leaving them bruises and bumps, followed by a flash of lighting where he was being sent to detention.
Mario looked angrier by the minute as he closed his eyes, took a deep breath and released it.
"Mario? Mario!" Nya said, shook him a bit as he shook his head a bit before recomposed himself.
"Uncle Mario? Are you okay?" Apple Shine asked her uncle with worry.
Mario snapped out of his thoughts and noticed they're just looking at him. Before Mario could reply, Rainbow Dash snagged Applejack away, which it got her startled.
"Hey, Applejack, how'd you like to be immortalized as my friend?" Rainbow Dash offered.
"Immorta-what?" Applejack asked, and then stunned by several camera flashes.
Rainbow Dash held Applejack close for the pictures as she struggled to pull away. Spike was continuing to write in his notebook.
"Are you taking notes?" Twilight asked from behind.
"Yup!" Spike answered simply. "I've been hoof-picked by Rainbow Dash herself, to write her autobiography."
"Autobiography...pfft...I can hardly tell." Storm Hawk said with a raspberry.
"Oh, that make sense...pfft..." Comet adds with sarcasm, also with a raspberry.
"Umm, autobiographies are supposed to be written by the pony they are about." Twilight said as a matter of fact.
Rainbow Dash was still taking pictures as Applejack finally managed to break away and walked off with disgusted look on her face. Rainbow Dash blinked for a moment when she heard Twilight's remark.
"Maybe for you normal, run-of-the-mill ponies." Rainbow Dash boasted as Mario, Zane, Kai, Nya, Twilight, Applejack, and the 6 foals glared at her. "But I'm far too busy saving lives to stop and write. That's why I hired Spike as my ghost writer."
"Spike's a ghost!" Pinkie Pie yelped as she was eating a cake, before she ram right out of the shop and startling Rarity.
All of the ponies just looked at her funny for a moment before going back to their business.
"...Anyway." Rainbow Dash continued. "Spike here writes down everything I say. Don't you, Spike?"
"Don't...you...Spike..." Spike said out loud to prove how literal he was talking Rainbow Dash's instructions. "Got it!"
"This way, I can stay focused on performing those acts of bravery that nopony else has the guts to perform." Rainbow Dash continued to brag as she walked away from Twilight and Applejack, then had a young fan-pony come up and hug her as a picture was taken, the three more young ponies did the same. "Yep, it takes guts, but it also takes brains. And sometimes a big lunch and a nap. Being a hero is surely not for everypony, but I'm up to the challenge."
Mario, Twilight, Applejack, the 6 foals, and 3 Elemental Masters just exchanged annoyed looks with each other.
"We've gotta do something." Mario said. "The way Rainbow is acting and what she's saying just brings back all those bad memories. I looked up to Master Wu and Master Bolobo for all these years, and he's gone. That's why those 'out of date' remarks hurt."
"But it didn't stop you for trying when those ponies tried to get you down." Apple Shine points out.
"Yeah, I know how to bite back and how." Mario agrees.
"I even remember you telling me about that." Twilight said sadly.
"These fans may admire her now, but the minute Rainbow fails, they won't be there to help her get back on her hooves." Mario said. "They'll move on and she'll be left alone. I'd hate to see that happen to Rainbow. She's already to the point where trying to reason with her won't work so...I don't know what to do to save her..."
Applejack just gave her brother a sympathetic smile.
"First of all, Rainbow isn't going to be left alone." Applejack told him. "It'll take more than a big ego for her to get rid of us. Besides, all that pony needs is a good ego in check and a reminder that she doesn't need fan ponies to be awesome."
"Agreed." Twilight agrees. "And I know just what we need to do."
"I hope it won't be too harsh." Kai said with concern.
"Nope, it's just a taste of her own medicine." Storm Hawk told him.
"That, and it'll help Rainbow understand how Mario feels right now." Twilight adds.
"And stop rubbing the fact she has fan ponies in his face." Daylight adds.
They smiled at that, which they began to discuss a plan.
The next day, several fan ponies were standing in line for Rainbow Dash to sign their pictures.
"There you go." Rainbow Dash grunts since she's signing the pictures with a pen in her mouth.
"Someday, I wanna be just like you!" A young pony named Lemon Daze said.
"Aim high, kid, but don't aim for the impossible." Rainbow Dash replied as she brushed her mane with a fore-hoof before adding arrogantly.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
The ponies then gasped. There was Cherry Berry, inside of a hot-air balloon that had a large hole in it, and she was descending far too quickly for a safe landing.
"Help! Help!" Cherry Berry called out from her megaphone.
"Uh, don't you think you should go and help?" Snips asked, getting worried as Cherry Berry got closer to the ground and Rainbow Dash was still signing autographs.
"Yeah, yeah, I've got a good ten seconds to spare." Rainbow Dash said with her muffled voice by the pencil in her mouth. "Just a couple more."
Rainbow Dash then finished signing another autograph before taking off at high speed. She couldn't help but wave at the crowd before focusing on saving Cherry Berry.
"The tension is unbearable." Spike said as he wrote in his notebook. "Will Rainbow Dash make it in time?"
It was then a large shadow appeared above Spike, making him look up. There standing on the roof is a pony wearing a dark purple mask over her face, a purple suit, cape, and hat with dark purple boots. She easily leap from rooftop to rooftop before diving through the basket and grabbing Cherry Berry out of it.
This caused Rainbow Dash to crash into the hot-air balloon as it landed roughly in front of the tree. Rainbow Dash lifted up the damaged balloon material off her face as she saw the other ponies cheering for the new masked pony, who helped Cherry Berry to her feet. Twilight, Comet, and Daylight watched the mysterious pony in amazement. The masked pony looked at Rainbow Dash's direction before disappearing. Rainbow Dash was still stunned as the other ponies began to chatter with each other.
"Holy turnips, that pony came outta nowhere!" A pony said.
"I've never seen such bravery in all my life!" Daisy adds.
"That's right!" Mayor Mare said as the masked pony stood on top of the mountain in the shadows and the disappeared into the background. "Ponyville has a new hero. A mysterious mare that has done well by our fair city today. I dub this new masked hero 'The Mysterious Mare Do Well'!"
The ponies cheered, except for Rainbow Dash, who's feeling rather jealous.
"Mare Do Well, huh?" Rainbow Dash said. "Well, that mare would do well to stay outta my way! Ponyville's only got room for one hero, and that hero is me!"
Rainbow Dash went to stomp off, but her hooves were caught in the balloon strings and she plopped into her stomach. Rainbow Dash just sat up with an indignant look on her face.
Sometime later, some tourist ponies were screaming for their lives. Apparently, the harness to their carriage bus had broken away from the pony pulling it and now they were rolling out of control down the same hill Millie had nearly lost Cream Puff on. Rainbow Dash wasted no time swooping down to the rescue. As she flew next to the carriage bus, she cleared her throat to get their attention.
"Never fear, you friendly neighborhood Rainbow-"
"Excuse me, uh, do you think you could skip your catchphrase and just hurry up and save us?!" A distressed pony named Globe Trotter interrupted with a suggestion.
"Ugh, fine!" Rainbow Dash said, rolled her eyes. "Picky, picky."
Rainbow Dash then got in front of the carriage bus and tried using her hind legs to slow it down.
"Whoaaaa! Aah!" Rainbow Dash yelped as she lost her footing before getting dragged underneath the wagon bus and tumbled behind it.
It was then, the Mysterious Mare Do Well appeared.
She lifted her hind legs to hold the rolling carriage bus back while used her fore-hooves to anchor herself down. She managed to bring the carriage bus to a stop just inches before she could be pushed right off the cliff. The ponies in the wagon cheered.
"Oh, thank you, Mare Do We-e..."
A pony named Wisp jumped out to thank the mare, but the masked pony has already made her way across some of the hills in the distance and disappeared. Rainbow Dash was left stunned once more.
"I can't believe it." Rainbow Dash said. "Mare Do Well is stronger than me?! Well, a hero is more than just muscle, and she's gonna learn that the hard way."
Elsewhere in Ponyville, some construction workers were working on a new building. One pony named Crafty Crate, was operating a crane to lift up some heavy wood planks. As he was managing the controls, one of the levers became jammed, causing the crane to swing the heavy wood planks back and forth dangerously. Crafty Crate tried to un-stuck the lever, but the entire control panel short-circuited. Rainbow Dash was flying overhead and saw the commotion below.
"Huh?" Rainbow Dash said as she saw the crane was about to lose the wood planks as the rope holding them was breaking. "Never fear, your friendly neighbor-Whoa!"
Rainbow Dash was cut off from her introduction as the wood planks came flying at her. As she moved out of the way, the wood planks crashed into the construction building, causing it to become unstable and some of the materials from the building started to come falling down. Several construction worker ponies began to run to avoid getting hit by the falling materials.
"Never fear-"
Rainbow Dash tried to do her introduction, but then had to stop and avoid getting hit by the falling materials.
"Uh! I'm coming! Hold on! Whoa!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Look!" A pony named Jack Hammer said.
There standing on top of the crane was Mare Do Well and Crafty Crate cheered as the masked pony easily avoided the falling materials, getting to a frightening construction worker and got them to safety.
Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash watched the masked pony with annoyance until she noticed a large collection of bricks came tumbling down towards another pony, whose name was Jim Beam. Rainbow Dash wasted no time swooping in to pick him up and carry him out of the way, but she was having some close calls with all the falling materials coming down at her position.
"Look out for the-Watch out for the falling-On your left! Ah! The other left!" Jim Beam shouted as Rainbow Dash struggled to dodge the falling materials, but she managed to get him to safety just as the building came tumbling down.
Jim Beam just looked agape before passing out, not even bothering to say 'thank you'.
"Well, Mare Do Well, or should I call you Mare Do Slow?!" Rainbow Dash boasted. "You're gonna have to pick up the pace if you wanna compete with me, 'cause I move like lightning."
"Actually, she saved all of us!" Rivet said as several other construction workers stood beside her, including the one Rainbow Dash had tried to save. "We owe her our lives!"
The other construction ponies all cheered for Mare Do Well. Rainbow Dash sat on the ground, making the face of a pony who looked like she had been told by the Wonderbolts that she would never be a great flyer. The other construction ponies just walked away and left her alone. One Rainbow Dash has recovered, she growled angrily.
"Okay, she's strong, fast, and somehow knows what's gonna happen ahead of time." Rainbow Dash said to herself sternly. "I've gotta step up my game."
Rainbow Dash then took to the skies once more.
It wasn't much longer before her flying had taken her to the outskirts of town where the Ponyville Dam was located. As she flew by, she noticed that there was a small crack in the wall and gasped.
"If the dam breaks, the whole town will be flooded!" Rainbow Dash said. "Looks like Ponyville needs a hero!"
Rainbow Dash then pushed her hoof against the crack to seal it.
"Easy peasy." Rainbow Dash told herself, not even noticing her touching the wall had made the crack worse. "My game is officially back on. If only somepony were here to pat me on the back. Eh, I guess I'll have to do it myself..."
Just as Rainbow Dash went to do so, the dam wall broke and water rushed right at her. Rainbow Dash yelped as the rushing water swept her away.
"Help!" Rainbow Dash screamed as she went under and her to spit out a fish that had somehow swam into her mouth. "Help!"
Rainbow Dash began to panic as she struggled no to get dragged under the water.
Then, she found a nearby log sticking out for her to grab onto. Rainbow Dash was relieved until she saw who it was that rescued her. For it was the masked Mare Do Well herself.
"You?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed angrily, as it pride hadn't suffered enough lately. "I supposed you want me to thank-"
Rainbow Dash was then cut off as Mare Do Well removes her hat to reveal a unicorn horn. She then used her magic to collect various rocks and used them to rebuild and repair the dam.
"You've gotta be kidding me!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, agape as some ponies watching in the distance cheered for Mare Do Well.
The masked pony waved to the ponies before making herself scarce. By now, Rainbow Dash was climbing out of the water and shaking the excess water off her body.
"Lemme get this straight." Rainbow Dash said to herself. "She's strong, she's agile, and she's magic? How do I compete with that?"
Rainbow Dash then plopped onto her back, but then sat back up quickly when she realized something.
"Wait a minute." Rainbow Dash continued. "I do have a leg up on her. And that leg is...wings! Hah! Take that, Mare Do Well!"
Rainbow Dash began to fly confidently until somepony zoomed past her, making her spin around. Rainbow Dash looked to see that it's Mare Do Well, flying with her own wings. The ponies cheered for her again as she flew by.
"Oh, for the love of Pete!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
Later at Sugarcube Corner, Rainbow Dash was just sulking to herself as her friends continued to talk about Mare Do Well and enjoying some freshly made sweet tarts.
"Gotta hand it to the girl, that Mare Do Well sure can pull off some pretty heroic feats." Applejack said as she helped herself to a buffet table of sweet and tasty treats.
"I must say, I was impressed by that spell she used to fix the dam." Twilight said as she, the 7 foals, the 4 Elemental Masters, and Kronk sat at a nearby table. "Seems like something like that would take quite a bit of study."
"Yes, indeed." Nya agrees with a smile. "I've seen a lot ponies trying to master even the most basic building and repairing spell. To do a dam means she's very advanced in construction magic. Most impressive."
Both Fluttershy and Winter Breeze smiled in agreement until Rainbow Dash just growled in irritation, crossing her fore-hooves to pout.
"She really cares about everypony's safety." Fluttershy added.
"Have you seen her costume?" Rarity asks, used her magic to hold up a cup of tea. "It is to die for! If you ask me, she's a hero of fashion!"
"And she's modest and humble." Apple Shine said. "She lets her actions speak for themselves. Gotta admire that."
"Yeah, and take on responsibility well." Kai added with an agreement.
"I find her very pretty too." Mario adds, earned a fierce glare from Twilight.
"Excuse me?" Twilight asked, clearly jealous.
"Uh-oh!" Comet and Daylight said, worried when Mario smirked.
"Oh, I'm sorry, are you jealous?" Mario teased.
Twilight glared, but the blush on her cheeks betrayed her as she looked away with a huff as everypony, except Rainbow Dash, snickered.
"I thought I was pretty, Mario!" Rainbow Dash grunted under her breath, feeling more and more agitated.
Mario was the only male in her life, minus her father, that ever said she looked pretty and hearing him call Mare Do Well pretty really got on her nerves.
"She's great." Spike said as he wrote on his notebook.
"I didn't say that." Rainbow Dash snapped, getting in his face.
"Sounds like somepony's jealous, and not just Mare Do Well, but also that Mario think she's pretty." Twilight said. "I had no idea you liked Mario."
"Who? Me?" Rainbow Dash retorted.
"Yes, you." Storm Hawk, Comet, and Golden Charm told her.
"Rainbow Dash is jealous, and appears to harbor a crush on Mario." Spike said, wrote and added with a chuckle.
"Don't write that, Spike!" Rainbow Dash retorted angrily as the others began to laugh.
"Correction: Rainbow Dash is very jealous and does admit to having a crush on Mario." Spike wrote smugly.
"You see, Mom?" Storm Hawk said with a serious glare. "This is what happens when you made a complete fool of yourself for your boasting and rubbing someponies face."
"Fine! Laugh all you want, but I'll be the one laughing when I prove to you all that I'm just as good-no, that I'm a better hero than Mare Do Well!" Rainbow Dash yelled angrily.
"And how did that prove when she beat you to it the last time you tried in multiple ways?!" Storm Hawk yelled back angrily. "If you go out there and try something stupid, you'll just become more of a fool than a hero!"
"How would you know?!" Rainbow Dash argued. "You didn't even try to save somepony!?"
"THAT'S IT!?" Storm Hawk snapped angrily as he flew right at his mother, pushing her out of the Sugarcube Corner.
The Mane 7, the 6 foals, and 3 Elemental Masters rushed out of the Sugarcube Corner, noticed the fight between mother and son started when Storm Hawk punches Rainbow in the face, but Rainbow retaliates by punching him in the face. Storm Hawk won't give up easily when he noticed Rainbow flew towards him as he throws dirt right in her eyes, making her grunt while try to wipe the dirt off of her eyes. Storm Hawk grabs her tail, slamming her down to the ground. Storm Hawk then starts spinning her around while holding her tail, using a hammer throw technique as he throws his mother right at the tree. Rainbow Dash grunts as she crashed against the tree, then lands down to the ground. Now, Rainbow Dash is mad as she growls angrily, then charges after her son while Storm Hawk charges after his mother, but was stopped when both Mario and Zane uses their magic to stop the fight before things get out of hand.
"That's enough! Both of you!" Mario shouts with a glare. "This is going way too far! What in the world is wrong with you?! If you don't watch it, you're gonna do things you'll end up regretting! So, calm down!?"
Mario heavy pants, try to calm down while the others walk towards between Storm Hawk and Rainbow Dash. The two stallions then let go of the two Pegasi when Storm Hawk turns to his mother.
"You know what? If you wanna get up and do your so-called heroic, then go right ahead! But don't go cry on me if you don't have anything better to do than make a complete fool of yourself because of your dumb ego and you being disrespectful, arrogant, idiotic, glory-hogging, fool!" Storm Hawk shouts at his mother, then flies away, leaving Rainbow Dash agape as her tears began to betray her.
"FINE! I WILL!?" Rainbow Dash yelled, then flies away in the opposite direction.
The Mane 7, the 6 foals, and 3 Elemental Masters were now really worried about them since the dispute between the two Pegasi has gotten a lot worse, which Storm Hawk lost his temper. And apparently what Rainbow Dash said to Storm Hawk isn't true, because he did save her from being corrupted while risking his life to buy some time by fighting against Discord. But with the two now separated, they'll have to find a way to get them to make up.
Outside of the shop, Rainbow Dash was on patrol as she flew around, looking for trouble, but she's still angry of her son. Unfortunately, things in town had gotten quiet. Ponies were just doing their daily business as Rainbow Dash peaked from behind a house rooftop.
"Complete fool of myself, who does he think he is?! He's got some nerve telling me that, insulting me!" Rainbow Dash growled angrily. "No signs of trouble here! Darn it!"
She then flew towards the steep hill, but found it empty as well.
"Buses and baby carriages are always careening down this hill!" Rainbow Dash complained. "Where is an out-of-control vehicle when you need one?!"
Rainbow Dash continued to hover around.
"Rrgh, there are absolutely no freak natural disasters going on anywhere!" Rainbow Dash grumbled. "How am I supposed to prove myself when everything's so normal and safe?"
Rainbow Dash then noticed Granny Smith was wobbling around with a purse on her mouth while Apple Shine and Buttercup were walking next to her, making her gasp.
"Hold it right there, Granny Smith!" Rainbow Dash said as she flew down to the Apple family.
"Rainbow, what in a name of trail blazin' are you doing here?" Apple Shine questioned with a glare.
"You don't have to pretend with me." Rainbow Dash said. "I can see that you're in way over your head here!"
"What are you takin' about?" Buttercup asks, confused. "You're not here to try somethin' funny, are you?"
"What?! No! I'm here to help Granny Smith cross the street!" Rainbow Dash protested, then got behind the elder pony and about to push forward when Buttercup pulled her by the tail.
"She can walk just fine, Rainbow." Buttercup told her, spits the tail out of her mouth. "And she's with us, so, I'm gonna ask you to take your hero deeds somewhere else."
"But-"
"Don't push it, Rainbow Dash!" Apple Shine warned her. "She said leave!"
Rainbow Dash can tell both Buttercup and Apple Shine means business since neither of three wanted help as she quickly flew away. Rainbow Dash felt a little down until she heard the of someone grunting nearby. Apparently, a mare named Amethyst Star, along with a filly named Liza Doolots, were having a picnic and the adult pony was having trouble opening a jar of peanut butter with her magic, making Rainbow Dash gasped.
"Somepony's in trouble!" Rainbow Dash announced as she flew over to them as Amethyst Star continued to grunt. "You'd better let me handle this, ma'am! For your own safety, I must ask you to stand back."
"Oh, brother." Amethyst Star said, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
Rainbow Dash dramatically cracked her neck twice before she grunted loudly to try and open the jar of peanut butter. Rainbow Dash tried hard, even using her teeth to open it, but it's no good. All Rainbow Dash did was embarrassed herself and Amethyst Star was mostly annoyed while Liza Doolots just looked at her blankly. Rainbow Dash just smiled sheepishly as Amethyst Star sternly grabbed the jar away from her, tapped it a few times against the side of a nearby water fountain. Then, Rainbow Dash simply popped the top off easily.
"Ta-da!" Rainbow Dash said, trying to save face and attract attention.
"Uh...thanks." Amethyst Star thanked half-heartedly.
"How would you describe what I just did?" Rainbow Dash asked eagerly. "Would you say I was amazing?"
"Aren't you milking this a bit?" Amethyst Star points out.
"Please, just answer the question!" Rainbow Dash retorted. "Was I, or was I not, amazing?"
"Oh, you're amazing alright." Amethyst Star remarked, sarcastically. "And amazingly-"
"Oh, look!" Rainbow Dash said, zoomed away before Amethyst Star could answer.
She then grabbed a self-powered lawnmower and started pushing it forward, making it rattle as Rainbow Dash began to mow the park grass at a very fast pace.
"Another great feat of heroism!" Rainbow Dash said proudly as she finished the job. "I have just saved that grass!"
"From what?" A pony named Pine Breeze asked.
"From weeds!" Rainbow Dash answered as she squatted down and examined the grass up close. "Weeds that were attempting to eat this lawn!"
The other ponies just gave her funny and annoyed looks on their face.
"Lame..." Liza Doolots remarked.
"Whatever." The other pony said as they all walked away.
"Aw, who am I kidding?" Rainbow Dash said sadly, suddenly realizing just how desperate she was getting for attention.
Then, Rainbow Dash heard the words she hoped she wouldn't have to hear"
'Rainbow was great, but now she's out of date.'
She then remembered of Mario's words not too long ago.
'One of these days, Rainbow, you're gonna learn what it's like to have your fans move on from you and admire somepony else. Let's see you laugh at him then...'
"I get it, Mario." Rainbow Dash said sadly as she buried her face under her fore-arms. "You were right..."
Then, Rainbow Dash remembered of Storm Hawk's words.
'If you go out there and try something stupid, you'll just become more of a fool than a hero!'
'...don't go cry on me if you don't have anything better to do than make a complete fool of yourself because of your dumb ego and you being disrespectful, arrogant, idiotic, glory-hogging, fool!'
"I get it, Storm Hawk." Rainbow Dash said sadly, tears began flowing on her eyes. "You were right...I'm making a fool of myself..."
Rainbow Dash just sat there for a long time before finally flying away. She thought of going to Mario to talk to him, but then remembered how she had insulted him about his mentor, and she figured he would be too angry with her to listen.
As she flew past Mario's home, she couldn't help but look inside to see if he's home. She noticed him looking through the book. Judging by that sad look on his face, she figured he was looking at some photos of when he and his friends were with Master Wu. Zane, Nya, and Kai were there to comfort him.
Rainbow Dash felt her eyes water, before snorting to herself.
"Just because Mario's teacher accepted being out of date, doesn't mean I have to do the same." Rainbow Dash told her as she headed home.
Rainbow Dash was hoping that her son is home that she can talk to him, but then remembered how Storm Hawk snapped and got into a fight, she figured he would be also angry with her to listen.
But as soon as Rainbow Dash went home, she came to find Storm Hawk when she checked his room, but noticed he's not there. She then check the living room, but he's not there, either. She started to freak out as she check the entire room of her home, the entire furniture, but started to realize that Storm Hawk isn't home. Rainbow Dash now feels guilty, fully realizing that she hurt her son for insulting him. Rainbow Dash decides to look for her son as she fly out of her home.
Rainbow Dash searches for Storm Hawk around in Ponyville, hoping that he's around. She searched at the Sugarcube Corner, the Golden Oak Library, the Carousel Boutique, Fluttershy's Cottage, and the Sweet Apple Acres, but apparently, he's not any of those places. She then started searching at the outskirts of Ponyville, until she found him at the stray cloud, alone with a sad and hurt look on his face. Judging by that look, she figured he needs some time to cool off and some alone time.
Rainbow Dash takes a deep breath as she slowly approaches to her son.
"Um, hey, Storm Hawk..." Rainbow Dash called him, earned his attention.
"What do you want?" Storm Hawk asks, glaring at her. "You come here to boast?"
Rainbow Dash flinched, not that she blames him since he's still angry at her.
"Look, Storm Hawk, I just wanna talk, just hear me out." Rainbow Dash said. "And...I really owe you an apology.."
Storm Hawk can tell that his mother is being sincere, knew that she really wanted to talk. He decided to hear her out as Rainbow Dash was landing on a cloud next to him.
"I'm really sorry for snapping at you...and hurting you." Rainbow Dash said. "I didn't mean to yell at you, or snap at you. I was just jealous of Mare Do Well getting all of the heroic deeds, and I was really making a complete fool of myself. I kind of got the taste of what it feels to be called that, too. It really hurts. I don't understand why I keep acting like I have to come down on others or rub my achievements in their faces just to feel awesome. And yet, I...lost the support of my fans, my friends, and...you. Look, I don't blame you for being mad, and you're right about me...I was making a fool of myself."
Rainbow Dash started to sniffle a bit. Storm Hawk figured that she's being serious.
"Tell me, is there a reason why you feel being awesome all the time?" Storm Hawk questions.
"Because I have a reputation to keep up." Rainbow Dash told him. "You saw how much ponies adore me when I'm awesome. Then, look what happened when somepony else started getting all that attention and I made a fool of myself. I was either ignored or declared lame, and out of date. I just wanted to feel useful and special and...when I can't be there for anypony. I feel so...worthless. Like I failed to be a good pony, a good friend, and...a good mother."
Storm Hawk just stayed silent while listening what his mother is telling him as she continued.
"I was too dumb to realize it until after the fan ponies moved on from me." Rainbow Dash continued sadly. "I heard what Mario said when I was bragging the other day. I can't imagine how hard it was when everypony moved on from Wu, and then he deal with the fact he might never been able to be the Master of Nature, yet there he is, the Master of Nature. I don't even understand how he could overcome something like that while he stood up for himself and knows how to fight back. At least for me, I can pick myself up and keep being awesome while trying to be humble and more empathetic to others who don't get that moment in the spotlight. He wasn't even given that much! Just thinking if that had happened to me just...just...oh not again..."
Rainbow Dash felt tears as she began to cry. Storm Hawk can tell that she really had a lot on her mind, knew that she was really sorry for snapping at her son. Even though, Rainbow Dash was so focus on being awesome while letting her ego get the better of her and for having to lose her fans because of the masked pony.
"I'm sorry, too, Mom." Storm Hawk told her, leaving Rainbow Dash confused. "It's just...I lost my temper...and snapped at you. And..."
"You got nothing to apologize." Rainbow Dash interrupted, pressing her hoof on his mouth. "I'll be honest with you; I really deserve it. But the truth is, I've been dealing with this my whole life! Ponies just never took me seriously growing up, whether it's my ego or just because I'm more of an athlete than girly. Let's not forget all those times I was crashing when trying my flying tricks. Those three colts you met during the Young Flyers Competition were just three of many who used to tease me. You and Mario are the first colts whoever...treated me right."
"What do you mean?" Storm Hawk inquires, puzzled.
"Other colts tend to either put me down, treat me more like a team player, or as just some other guys." Rainbow Dash explained as she dry her eyes. "I mean being part of a team or one of the guys is cool and all, but...Mario respected me not just an athlete, but like a girl, too. Even though I'm no ladylike, he still treat me like a lady. Because of that, I feel like I can embrace my girly side around him without feeling dumb about it. I feel pretty when I get to spend some time with him. I only acted annoyed or bashful when he told me because I'm not used to being told by any colt other than my dad.'
Storm Hawk now begins to understands because of Rainbow Dash's insecurities.
"But you...you're different." Rainbow Dash continued. "When I first met you, you had a rough life in Brooklyn because of your parents abandoned you when you were a baby at Coney Islands, foster parents being killed, and forced to drop out of school and on the run with your cousin. It tore me apart of how much you've suffered. After I took you in, and adopted you while taking care of you, you somehow changed my life."
"I did?" Storm Hawk asks surprisingly, earned a nod from his mother.
"When you first called me 'mom' back at the Young Flyers Competition and unintentionally called me 'mom' the second time, you touched my heart." Rainbow Dash replied. "I have come to love and care for you more than anypony in Equestria or anypony in your world. Like Twilight and the others, you held a very special place in my heart, and I love you more than anything."
Storm Hawk now started to sniffle when tears flows out of his eyes.
"And...it cost me to lose my fans...but the only fan is you, Storm Hawk." Rainbow Dash told him as she starts hugging him. "You...are my fan. And I'm sorry it took me so long to realize that..."
Storm Hawk then embraced his mother while letting his tears flow out of his face. After few minutes of hugging, both Storm Hawk and Rainbow Dash breaks an embrace.
"So, Storm Hawk, what do you say you and I take to the sky and learn some moves?" Rainbow Dash offered. "I still got a few tricks I can teach you."
Storm Hawk then smiled a few seconds, before turns into a smirk while stretching his wings.
"Like you never ask." Storm Hawk said as he takes flight, flying towards the sky.
"That's my boy." Rainbow Dash said with a chuckle, then takes flight while catches up to her son.
Few days later, both Storm Hawk and Rainbow Dash are spending some time together by flying together while learning some tricks. Storm Hawk was able to keep up with his mother, but still not up to her level. Rainbow Dash taught him a few tricks which Storm Hawk is still having trouble while learning. Now, they're resting up on a white cloud.
"Ah, nothing but feeling relaxed in the clouds." Rainbow Dash said with a sigh.
"Betcha you say that during your times here." Storm Hawk remarked.
"Oh, yeah, wise guy." Rainbow Dash said with a smirk, grabs a cloud. "Think fast!"
Rainbow Dash then throws the cloud right at Storm Hawk in the face as she laughed. Storm Hawk shook the cloud off of his face, glaring at his mother.
"Ok, well two can play that game." Storm Hawk said with a smirk, then throws the cloud right at Rainbow Dash in the face.
"CLOUD FIGHT!?" Rainbow Dash shouts as she and Storm Hawk throw the clouds at each other.
Scootaloo noticed that both Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk are throwing clouds at each other while making a cloud walls. Rainbow Dash then got hit in the face by a cloud.
"Bullseye!" Storm Hawk shouts, but spoke too soon when Rainbow Dash throws the cloud and hits him square in the face.
"You should give up now, Storm Hawk. And I'll give you mercy." Rainbow Dash suggests with a playful smirk.
"Never!" Storm Hawk cried out then kicks the cloud as thunder strikes Rainbow Dash, making her yelp as he laughs.
Rainbow Dash then hides underneath the cloud, quietly flew towards behind him. Storm Hawk was so busy laughing silly, he noticed that his mother wasn't at the cloud. Then, Rainbow Dash merged out of the cloud and lunged at her son.
"Got ya!" Rainbow Dash said, then starts tickling him. "How'd you like that, wise guy?"
Scootaloo continued watching Rainbow Dash tickling her son which it got her chuckled a bit.
"Hey...Mom...no fair!" Storm Hawk said, laughing. "Alright, alright...I give...stop! I surrender..."
Rainbow Dash then decided to stop as Storm Hawk takes a few minutes to breath from that tickling. Then, she noticed Scootaloo was watching.
"What's up, squirt?" Rainbow Dash asks when she lands on the ground.
"I was asking you to join us, but I see you're busy." Scootaloo told her as Storm Hawk lands next to Rainbow Dash.
"Just spending time together with him, and to clear my mind." Rainbow Dash said. "So, what's up?"
"Like I said, I was inviting you to join us." Scootaloo answered. "We're heading off to the 'thank you' parade for Ponyville's greatest hero. The Mysterious Mare Do Well."
Scootaloo smiled widely and excitedly. Rainbow Dash could feel her heart break. Even her biggest fan moved on, but despite how much she was hurting. Rainbow Dash look towards Storm Hawk, who gave her an assuring and comfort smile which it got her smiled.
She accepts her offer as they went to follow Scootaloo, and was soon amongst the crowd of ponies that were there to cheer Mare Do Well. Mayor Mare wasted no time taking center stage.
"Welcome to Ponyville's first, but surely not last, thank you parade." Mayor Mare announces. "In honor of our city's greatest hero, the Mysterious Mare Do Well."
The ponies cheered as the masked pony made her appearance by breaking through a large banner before the crowd. Several of them were holding signs and banners with her picture on them. Rainbow Dash just glared at her jealously, but Storm Hawk places her shoulder with his hoof which it got her attention when he shook her head, warned her not doing anything reckless. Rainbow Dash got the message as she smiled at her son, decided not to take part of it as she and Storm Hawk walked away, leaving the crowd.
"Guess I won't be needing those fans as long as I have you." Rainbow Dash said to her son. "Come on, let's get outta here."
Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk then flew towards the sky which Mare Do Well watches them leaving while Twilight, Applejack, and Scootaloo also watches them.
At the lake, both Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk lands on the ground. Storm Hawk turns to her since he has some questions about Rainbow Dash having a crush.
"Mom?" Storm Hawk called her, earned her attention. "Do you really have a crush on Mario?"
"Yes, but...I know his heart is with Twilight." Rainbow Dash answered with a sigh. "I can respect that and I hope they'll find that happily ever after and all that mush. That's why I never said anything. I really didn't want to have a crush on him."
"So, what you're saying is you want another pony to be your coltfriend?" Storm Hawk inquires curiously.
"Yeah, I do." Rainbow Dash replied. "But I'm just worried that I won't find another colt who will treat me as well as Mario does. Do you know just how rare it is to find a colt as decent and wonderful as him in Equestria? Having lightning strike twice in the exact same spot is easier!"
Storm Hawk couldn't help but chuckle.
"I'm sure you'll find that special colt, Mom." Storm Hawk said. "He's out there somewhere and when you find him, he's gonna love and accept you for who you are, and your strengths and weaknesses. He'll treat you with respect and treat you like a lady. I'll see to that myself cause no one is gonna mess with your heart as long as I'm your friend and your son. I'll always love you, even if you're an egotistical bonehead."
The Mane 6, 3 Elemental Master, and 6 foals were watching them having a heart-to-heart talk, which they were able to make amends and spending some time together as mother and son. But Twilight, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie wore a Mare Do Well costume.
"That is the cheesiest thing I've ever heard." Rainbow Dash said bluntly before smiling. "But also, sweet. Thanks for hearing me out and for being there when I needed you."
Until, the Mare Do Well appeared out of nowhere from the hill along with two more Mare Do Well, approaching Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk which it got them confused as to why there were three. Just as they're about to get ready for a fight, one of them removed their masks which it got Rainbow Dash yelped in shock.
"P-p-p-Pinkie?! Whudda-hud-d-duh-hud-d-duh-huh?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she saw one them removed their masks, leaving her dumbfounded. "Twilight?! Applejack?! There were three of you?!"
All three ponies smiled at her.
"Yup, we all played Mare Do Well at different times." Twilight answered.
"I stopped the carriage bus with these buddies, Bucky McGillicuddy and Kicks McGee." Applejack said as she lifted each hind leg to emphasize her point.
"I saved the construction workers with my Pinkie sense." Pinkie Pie said.
"And I used my magic to fix the dam." Twilight said as she removed her hat to show Rainbow Dash her glowing horn.
"Ooh, ooh! And I did a flyby afterwards." Fluttershy said as she flew next Twilight as Mario and the others came next to them.
"Kronk made the costumes." Rarity added as she got into Rainbow Dash's face. "Fabulous if I do say so myself."
Rainbow Dash just said nothing as she walked away from them.
"I don't understand." Rainbow Dash said as she turned to face them. "Why? Don't you want me to be a hero?"
"Of course, we want you to be a hero." Twilight answered.
"But a real hero doesn't brag." Applejack adds with a smirk.
"But, Storm Hawk snapped at you isn't our intention which...you did hurt his feelings and got into a fight." Kronk told them. "It's something we don't blame him..."
"Yeah, we have a talk few days ago, and I'll be honest, I deserve that." Rainbow Dash said bluntly. "He has the right to be mad at me. And we made up..."
"We're glad the both of you did." Zane said with a smile. "But Rainbow, celebrating your achievements is natural, but rubbing them in everypony's face isn't."
"Especially past ponies who were once the greatest." Nya adds when Kai, Zane, and Mario nods with an agreement.
"Yeah, the only thing that should be rubbed in anypony's face is chocolate cake." Pinkie Pie said and began to slurp her face as the others watched her with funny looks.
"I think we're getting off topic here." Applejack said.
"Eeyup." Mario and Apple Shine said, looked at Pinkie Pie unamusingly.
"What we're trying to say is...it's great to be really good at something, but it's important to act with grace and humility." Twilight points out.
Rainbow Dash just looked down at herself for a moment.
"Ohhhh, that makes loads more sense." Rainbow Dash said as she took to the sky and hovered above them. "Yeah, you're right, and I guess I should've also acted with grace and humility when others outshine me. Like Mare Do Well."
The others smiled in agreement.
"Sounds like you got a letter to write to Princess Celestia." Nya said with a smile.
"Already got it covered." Spike said. "As Rainbow's ghost writer, I've already penned a letter to the Princess."
"That's nice of you, Spike." Rainbow Dash said. "But I really wanna write this letter myself."
"Aww, come on!" Spike whined. "I wrote the whole thing already!"
"Okay, let's hear it." Rainbow Dash said as Spike cleared his throat and unrolled the parchment.
"Dear Princess Cel-"
"Look out! It's a real ghost!" Rainbow Dash called out.
Mario then used his magic to summon as illusion of what appeared to be a white floating blob with a creepy face on it. Pinkie Pie and Spike yelped and ran away, screaming as Mario made the 'ghost' disappear and everypony laughed. Rainbow Dash was then surprised when Twilight offered her a parchment and quill. Rainbow then took the quill and winked before she got to write the letter. Once she finished, she gave it to Mario, who used his magic to send them away since Spike was currently running for his life.
The next day, both Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk are now at Cloudsdale after given the ponies of Ponyville an apology for her actions. The two are now spending time together taking a stroll.
"I really missed this." Rainbow Dash said with a smile. "Helping the weather management, and spending time with you."
"Same here." Storm Hawk agrees. "Guess Mario knows about it?"
"He did, and we talked out. We're staying friends in the end, and it all worked out." Rainbow Dash told him. "He even told me the cheesiest thing, which it's sweet. And to make it one thing straight: He. Is. Cool and Awesome! Being a fighter and a martial artists doesn't mean he's anything less. That is until Twilight show up..."
"What?!" Storm Hawk exclaimed in shock.
"Calm down, she didn't do anything, she was eavesdropping the whole time." Rainbow Dash assures him. "I told her I love him as a friend, nothing else. But if she doesn't realize how awesome he is, then I might just take him for myself!"
Storm Hawk couldn't help but laugh a little, knew that Twilight is so embarrassed.
"Wish I could see that look on her face, it's so priceless." Storm Hawk said with a chuckle.
"Oh, it's priceless, and it's funny." Rainbow Dash said with a chuckle, but gives him a motherly smile. "And Storm Hawk, I'm glad I get to spend some time with you."
Storm Hawk nods with an agreement as he and Rainbow Dash hugged each other since both of the two Pegasi were close as a mother and a son.
That's it for the 10th chapter.
