A future devastated by Doctor Gero's androids where Bulma Briefs is the premier scientist to defend earth against them. She created a time machine to send her teenage son Trunks back in time. However, she knew the consequence of such a drastic measure. The timeline would diverge many ways after that and she might never see her son again. So she worked on another plan to defeat the androids. A friend of her father named Doctor Light who passed away several years ago had created a way. She found her best hope in a machine labeled as having limitless potential. Mega Man X had been sleeping in a specially designed pod for over thirty years.

She had to abandon her lab that had once housed the time machine. The androids had found it so she took her necessary data and took off on her capsule cycle. The destructive siblings were too busy making a game of blowing it up to notice her escaping thank goodness. She headed straight for Light's hidden underground lab. When she got there she had to use her findings to open the secret door. To her surprise there was more than just one pod. There were eight in total, however the newest and most advanced stuck out to her professional eye. "My little savior to be, it's time to wake up." She pulled out two capsules and tossed one to a bare looking wall of the lab that she was sure could hold it. The most advanced capsule corps computer she had built appeared. The size was about the same as her portable closet. The other dyno cap was opened just in front of X's chamber. It was the most advanced laptop she had designed, just before the androids came to her last lab. She attached a cable between it and the pod then began working on waking up her hero to be.

The process took several hours. Light's notes were priceless in cracking the security system. However, she couldn't help admiring the level of technology he had reached. Capsule Corps might have lost to him in business if their work hadn't been more useful over all. Robotic workers with advanced human like A.I. what a marvel to behold. She might want to look into reviving his groundbreaking research in the future. She heard the pod open while she mused about her hope for the future.

A teenage boy that looked about fourteen or fifteen sat up and took in his surroundings. "Doctor Light are you here?" His shock at expecting an old Santa Clause like man and seeing a beautiful blue haired woman instead was adorable. He blushed for a few moments then spoke again. "Are you one of his assistants Lady?"

She smiled at the younger looking boy's cute reaction. Technically despite his appearance he was older than her by at least three decades. Then the gorgeous smile drooped and she sadly told him about his creator. "Sorry kid no, he was a friend of my father I'm Bulma Briefs. The sweet old guy passed away several years ago. Listen, I need your help. Two evil androids have already killed thousands of us humans, a namek, and some saiyans. We need someone to stand up to them. You are our last hope at this time. Your limitless potential needs to be put to the test for us all. Will you help us?"

X was not a fan of violence, but his father created him to stop evil robots. He knew he just needed to keep their mental data and they could be rebuilt. "Of course Lady Bulma, if you want peace sometimes you have to prepare for war." He slowly got out of his chamber and stood on the ground. Then he held out a hand to shake hers. "I'm designated Mega Man X, but you can call me X for short."

The woman took the hand offered smiling as she responded. "Nice to meet you X I hope our future is brighter from here."

The hunter released the girls lovely hand and asked a question. "Were they made by Doctor Wily?"

She searched her memory for a moment trying to recall a Wily. Shortly she figured it out and recalled the man use to be a friend of Light. That is until they diverged on a certain point about robotics. Wily saw a future using robots as the ultimate weapons. Light however, wanted them to peacefully coexist with humans and build a better future together. "No X, but Doctor Gero had a similar goal for robotics. His own creations killed him and began to sow chaos throughout the world. Is there anything you need?"

"Yes lady Bulma there are some pods scattered around that have upgrades for me if you could find them it would be helpful. Doctor Light should have left some clues as to their location. For now I need to do some reconnaissance about Gero's creations. So I can make a good decision about their welfare." The robot master smiled sadly following his words. He hoped this woman didn't expect him to deactivate them without trying other methods

Those words reminded her of Goku's way of thinking. This brought tears to her eyes as she remembered the friends and family she had lost. "I understand do what you need to." She managed to regain control of her tears after a few minutes. "I'll stay here and research what you need. Who knows maybe I can wake up the rest of Light's creations in this lab." She felt her emotions escape control as she moved over to her super computer. The work she had ahead would need something more powerful than a laptop. Suddenly, she felt something surprising. X had wrapped his arms around her and gave a heartfelt hug. "Thanks you better go, we both have a lot of work ahead of us. They were last spotted in East city. I've already uploaded an up to date map of the world." The hero to be simply nodded a headed out to find the androids.

The sheer devastation aboveground was terrifying to behold. There were ruined buildings everywhere. However, some were still standing at almost useable levels. Lady Bulma was right about the chaos. Maybe he could get a ride somehow, North city was pretty far from where he needed to be. He wished he knew how to drive it would make things easier. Perhaps he could get the woman to upload such data eventually. For now though he had a long run ahead of him. His solar power cells would be charged when he arrived at least.
