"Man that sunrise is a gnarly sight. The wrecked buildings really make it shine. Wish you could see this X dude. Oh well at least your starting to recover." He noticed the sudden electronic sound as the first rays of sunlight struck his injured companion. He wondered how fast the guy would heal.
Suddenly, the gleam of metal in the sunlight drew his attention. "Bummer dude, looks like you missed a few." His eyes glanced at X for a second then returned to the hovering enemies. "Guess what chopper brains, your about to learn why Cut Man laughs at your attempts to dodge." Using one hand to steer he lifted the free palm to the blades on his head. Razor sharp blades started flying as he avoided damage. A single blade often took out multiple opponents. His weapon was designed for clearing land of trees so their armor stood no chance. Soon the area was cleared of potential threats.
That was when X woke up seeing his battery was just above minimum operating parameters. The smoking remains of more of the helicopter robots from last night drew his optic sensors. Then he realized he was moving and heard the hum of an engine. Then he saw his orange savior smiling back at him. 'Who is this?'
Then his on board memory answered his unspoken question. 'Designation Cut Man. First generation Robot Master. Designed to clear land for development. Affiliation last known code green, formerly code red. Rebuilt by Doctor Light after Mega/Rock Man defeated him.'
The newly informed X returned the smile after a few seconds. Hi Cut Man, thanks for saving me. Did Lady Bulma send you?"
The orange robot was surprised for a moment that the dude knew his name. However, he figured the guy had stats for other Robot Masters uploaded. "Yeah, the babe was worried when you ceased functioning." Then a mechanical whiring occurred and a orange chip from inside his chest cavity was handed to X. "Thats a gift from our gnarly boss. It's a copy of my weapon data and motercycle piloting data as well."
X looked at the upgrade and gladly took it. A slot opened up in his X-buster and he installed it. "Thanks a lot Cut Man." Suddenly, X turned orange and he gave the new power a test. Several airborne blades shot out slicing a nearby ruined building. What was left of the frame tumbled to the ground.
A few hours later Cut Man abruptly stopped the bike. He saw something ahead that caught his attention. "RMR 11.6 FM! Look dude it's a radio station. I think destiny has seen fit to give me a chance at my fondest wish." The robot master hopped off the capsule cycle and dashed toward the still intact building.
X couldn't help smiling at his escorts unfiltered joy. Then he noticed a strange sound. Something was cutting thru the wind at an alarming pace. He looked up in time to yell a warning. "Cut Man look out, you have a maverick bird robot above you!"
The older model dove for cover in nearby rubble. "Whoa, most uncool bird brain. He narrowly dodged a dive bomb attack thanks to the warning. The creature followed up by creating a massive wind. Cut Man was glad he wasn't on top of something high in that moment. However, he was soon assaulted by a capsule car. That knocked him off his feet and cratered the ground around him.
Believing that was the end of the orange robot it focused on X. The blue bomber was barely functioning at the moment. Combat with a Maverick he had no data on was concerning. Yet he was never one to walk away from battle. Even though a peaceful solution was preferred. The bird bot didn't seem keen on talking. The robot master jumped out of his sidecar and started charging his X-buster. He wouldn't get many shots so he had to make them count.
Another dive bomb was performed. Fortunately, the powered up shot knocked it back a few feet. In retaliation it sent a horizontal cylinder of condensed air his way. Not wanting to know the kind of damage that would do he jumped ten feet in the air to avoid it. X began saving another bit of power for a powerful shot from his main weapon as he came down.
Storm Eagle cawed with rage and was about to send another wind attack. Instead a look of shock froze on his face. It was sliced into three horizontal pieces. Then to add to his defeat a blast of solar energy reduced him to scrap metal.
"Yeah that's right bird brain. Never underestimate the radest there is." Cut Man had sliced the car into manageable sections. He was able to move in the nick of time it seemed.
Meanwhile, X rushed over to the still sparking Maverick. He expertly removed the data chip before it exploded. The top of the line robot master held it up. "Cut Man this belongs to you, now please honor it's memory with it."
"No prob cuz, I know Doctor Light would want that." The orange robot took the chip and installed it in his chest cavity. Suddenly, his Double Gear started running at higher output. He began to glow as his colored body became orange and purple. Two wings grew from his back. "Awesome, looks like I can ride the wind now sweet!"
Next, both robot masters heard Bulma on their communicators. "Cut Man are you alright I just got a massive power surge at your location?"
"Never better Boss babe. I just got a killer upgrade from Storm Eagle. I'm sending you his file data now." The new and improved dude took to the sky for a quick spin. After a little showboating he landed in front of X. "Sorry cuz, but I've got to bring back the music."
"Your fine, I'll be listening you can bet on it Cut Eagle." Shortly after that X hugged his ally and hopped on the capsule cycle. With a wave of his hand he was off on his journey again.
The newly dubbed Cut Eagle waved as his friend drove away. Then he addressed Bulma in a private channel. "You better tune in to RMR 11.6 babe. Cause the positive sounds will abound."
She giggled at his statement. "You know it my friend!" She cut the feed after that and cried softly to herself. They were a mixture of joy and sorrow as she remembered poor Yamcha. Her second awakened Robot Master reminded her of him.
Soon a nearby thermometer started showing a huge increase in the labs temperature. She panicked for a moment until she noticed her laptop. It had one phrase blinking repeatedly.
