The next day was a Thursday. Lucy and Rita take Gwen to see Dr. Santiago, the family doctor.
Gwen was nervous about this. Lucy didn't really feel comfortable about going to Luke's party; she didn't see a reason to. But Rita had said the whole family was going because it was good manners.
They soon arrived at Dr. Santiago's office and they took Gwen inside.
"Why, hello there!" Dr. Santiago greeted.
"Hi, my name is Gwen." Gwen says, being polite.
"It's nice to meet you, Gwen. Today we're doing a checkup. Just to make sure your body is working like it should." Dr. Santiago says.
"Okay, I have to go to a party this weekend." Gwen says.
"Sounds like fun!" Dr. Santiago says. She soon checks Gwen's height and weight.
It seemed fine. Gwen was a bit underweight, but her height was good.
Dr. Santiago then checks her eyes, nose, and ears with a special light, then tests her reflexes.
Gwen was really good with reflexes. Dr. Santiago smiled at Gwen.
Later, Leni took Gwen to the mall to get her a new dress as Lori joined them.
"You literally need new clothes." Lori says.
"You don't have to spend too much money on me." Gwen says.
"Nonsense." Lori says.
They get Gwen some new clothes, then they go to a toy store and buy gifts for Luke.
Gwen wasn't sure what Luke liked due to never getting to know him.
"From what Miss Huntington's list said, he likes Ace Savvy, the Arctic Avenger, Cuphead, High School Musical, Arctic animals, music, playing his guitar, reading, performing, cosplay, dancing, and baking." Lori says.
Gwen buys him a High School Musical toy.
On Saturday, all the Louds were getting ready as Lucy forced herself to dress up. Rita then lays down some ground rules for the party.
"Be on your best behavior. Luna, don't play too loud. Lola, no touching the cake or the desserts until Miss Huntington says it's time. Lana, no mud or animals. Luan, no pranks for gifts. Lynn, tone it down and no competitiveness. Lori, pay attention to your younger siblings. Lisa, no experimenting on Luke, Miss Huntington, or anyone at the party." Rita says. "Lucy, no pretend funerals or offensive poetry."
"If we see any of that stuff your mother mentioned to you not to do, you will all be punished with no TV and no dessert for a month. Understand?" Lynn Sr. says, carrying his catering van keys.
The siblings nod.
"What's with the catering getup, Pop-Star?" Luna asked.
"Miss Huntington asked Lynn's Table to cater Luke's party. She even paid in advance. So, I will see you kids at the party." Lynn Sr. says and heads off to the restaurant to pick up the food that his restaurant will provide for the party.
Rita loads everyone else into Vanzilla and they drive off toward Huntington Manor.
Gwen looks around the manor once they arrive.
"Happy birthday, Luke!" The Louds and Gwen say.
"Thank you! Thanks for coming to my party!" Luke says.
"You can put your gifts over there." Charity says with a smile, pointing to a table covered with a Cuphead-themed tablecloth.
Gwen and the Louds do so.
Luke was dressed in a yellow shirt that had Cuphead and Mugman on it with his name and age on it, dark blue pants, yellow socks, and brand new designer sneakers. His blonde hair was combed neatly and he had a blue and red Cuphead-themed birthday crown on his head.
Charity was wearing a shirt similar to Luke's, but hers was light blue and it said "Mom Of The Birthday Boy", along with a dark blue skirt, red leggings, and black heels. Her hair was in a French twist and she was wearing gold hair clips with Chalice, Cuphead, and Mugman on them.
"Luke, what's Cuphead?" Luna asked.
"A video game and a show I like on TV." Luke says.
"You guys never heard of the game?" Lincoln asked.
"No." Lola says.
The Louds introduce themselves as Gwen was the most polite.
"It's so nice to meet you all! Especially you, Miss Gwen!" Charity says.
"Thank you, Miss Huntington." Gwen says.
Soon, the party began as Luan was juggling.
Luke was entertained by this. After that, Lola had prepared a dance dedicated to Luke. Luke was smiling at this.
"This is amazing!" Luke says.
Luke is soon pacing the floor after the entertainment. He is seen sobbing.
"Honey, please don't be sad…." Charity says.
"You didn't tell me they CANCELED on you!" Luke cried.
"I didn't want you to find out this way, sweetie…." Charity says.
"You're failing me!" Luke sobbed.
"What happened?" Leni asked.
"I hired entertainers to come dressed as Cuphead, Mugman, and Chalice….but they canceled at the last second because they were triple-booked." Charity says. "My poor little treasure is devastated…."
"We'll do it!" Lola says.
Lola, Lana and Gwen dress up as them. Luke sniffles and slowly looks up as they go on stage.
"Hi, Luke…." Lola says, dressed as Chalice as Lana dressed as Cuphead.
Luke looks at them.
"Oh, my gosh!" Luke says as his face lights up.
They took pictures with Luke, who was practically beaming.
Luke then looks at them. "Do the 'Turning Up The Charm' skit! It's my favorite!" Luke says, still smiling.
Lola does it with Lana and Gwen. Luke is bouncing up and down in his seat.
Soon, Lola finished as Luke cheered.
Soon, it was present time. Before Luke opens any of them, Charity appears next to Luke.
"It means a lot that you all could make it to this marvelous celebration of my Luke's 10th year of life. This is the first birthday where my sweet treasure has been truly happy." Charity says. "There were times where he had no friends at all and there were times where he couldn't celebrate his birthday properly. So, from the bottom of my heart, once again, thank you all so much for being here today."
Luke opens Gwen's gift first. He smiles at the High School Musical 2 Twister Moves game. "Cool!" Luke says. "Thanks, Gwen!"
"You're welcome." Gwen says.
Luke then opens Lola's gift.
It was a pageant sash as Luke squeals.
Luke opens Lincoln's gift and sees the DLC for Cuphead and hugged him.
Later, Lynn Sr arrived and set up the food for the party as everyone cheered.
Luke got to go first and saw it was his favorite food. Luke smiled.
"Happy birthday, Luke." Lynn Sr. says.
"Thanks. You must be the chef." Luke says.
Lynn Sr. nods and smiles. "I have my own restaurant." he says.
"And here is a coupon in case you ever want to squirt on by, ha ha!" Luan says as Luke giggled.
Lucy sat alone writing poems as she watched her siblings having fun.
"Sigh." Lucy says.
The dancing begins as Luke dances with the siblings.
Luke and Lola danced as Lola twirled him around.
Soon, it was pinata time as Charity brought it out. It looked like Cuphead.
"Sweet!" Luke says.
Lynn hands him a bat.
"Give it your best shot!" Lynn says
Luke smiled and surprised everyone by hitting it with one shot. It broke in half as candy poured out.
Everyone grabbed their share of the candy and toys before Gwen offered hers to Luke. Luke was surprised.
"Here they are, your birthday pinata goodies!" Gwen says.
"Thank you!" Luke says.
Lucy finished writing her poems and sighed. She used Luke's birthday party as an inspiration.
The Louds get to know Luke well except Lucy. Lucy then walks up and reads her poem to Luke.
Lucy looks down after that and walks off.
"I liked it." Luke says, causing Lucy to smile a bit.
Soon the lights dim down. Luke was looking around, very confused. It soon lit up, revealing everyone around the Cuphead-themed cake that Gwen made sure no one ate.
Luke gasped and smiled.
There were 10 edible candles that Gwen lit up as everyone began to sing while Lola recorded. Luke was smiling on his birthday for the first time in years. He sheds tears of pure joy. Luke took in the moment as Charity took out her camera. Charity took pictures, especially when Luke blew out his candles after making his wish.
Soon, Luke cuts himself a slice of the cake and eats it.
"I still can't believe I'm in the same room as the Luke Huntington, pageant star extraordinaire!" Lola says, smiling.
Luke blushes modestly.
Soon, everyone ate and had some fun, and even Lucy joined in.
"So, how'd you get your start in pageants?" Lola asked Luke.
"Family talent." Luke says. "What about you?"
"You!" Lola says.
Gwen yawned. Luke had requested that Lola, Luna, Luan, Lincoln, and Lucy stay for a sleepover, and Rita permitted it.
"No fair!" Lana says.
Gwen was sleeping as Lisa had work to do.
Charity gave the siblings who weren't staying their favor bags and thanked them for coming before they left.
When they arrived, Lana headed to her room. She wasn't used to sleeping alone.
Gwen decided to give Lana company
Lucy looks around the manor and is in awe of Luke's massive book collection.
"Reading is my thing when I don't do my other things." Luke says with a smile.
Luna looks around and sees Luke's music room before showing Luke her favorite singer. Luke grins at this as he also adored Mick Swagger. He shows Luna that he has a framed Mick Swagger album.
Soon, Lincoln and Luke was playing video games.
Meanwhile, in Lola & Lana's room, Lana was getting to know Gwen.
"I'm good at pageants, really smart and don't mind helping others " Gwen says to Lana.
"How smart?" Lana asked
"Really good at chess" Gwen says.
Meanwhile, Luna was reading Luke a bedtime story. Luke whines.
"But I'm not tired!" Luke cries.
Luke is allowed to stay up late as he watches TV for a bit and initiates a pillow fight.
Luke and Lola went wild as Lucy stayed out of it.
"Sigh" Lucy says
Soon, Luke was on top of the others, cheering. He then yawned.
"Tired?" Luna asked. Luke nodded.
Luna gets Luke in his nighttime wear. Tonight it was his Ace Savvy pajamas.
Luna then tucks him in as Charity requested.
Luke points at his favorite book at the moment, which is the "Cuphead In Carnival Chaos" book.
Luna smiles and reads it to him
