Man of Insects is an anomalous entity made of numerous insects and arthropods that when come together make up the form of an average male in his late 30s wearing a cheap suit and tie. The insects and arthropods include flies, locusts, beetles, roaches, centipedes, and spiders that swarm together to take the shape of a man. The insects then shift their bodies into the fleshy tone and texture of human flesh complete with external appendages.
Consensus is that there is a singular insect/arthropod that operates as a hive mind controlling the actions of the rest.
Capable of dispersing and feasting on their victims leaving nothing but a slimy residue after 30 minutes.
Currently the second reconnaissance member of F.A.E
HISTORY: Throughout Remnants history, there have been tales of mythic figures that take the form of insects or arthropods or the reverse. Whether this is Man of Insects or others similar to the Anomaly is up for debate.
However, with modern day pesticides, Man of Insects has had difficulties attaining victims in the Four Kingdoms where such products are easy to get, keeping it near outlier villages where pesticides are either hard to get or nonexistent.
While similar in nature to Anomaly 616 aka Hive of Worms (see pertaining file), in terms of a hive mind, there are key differences.
Hive of Worms is a colony of anomalous slugs that feed on anything that it comes across whether it be crops or animals by burrowing into the body and eating it from the inside out. Once done, if the body is of sufficient height, it controls the body and moves of its own accord. The closer it is to the 'Queen' of the colony, the better its intellect and movement. While classified as an explosive breeder capable of regaining lost numbers in a matter of seconds if a large quantity of "food" is available, Man of Insects has no such ability. When Man of Insects looses numbers via damage done to the body, it will either sacrifice a portion of its disguised body to replace the damage or if the majority of its body is damaged, it makes a tactical retreat via dispersion and seeks a dark location, a basement or sub-basement, and reproduces over the course of a week before making its vengeance known to the party that injured it.
