As the eldest son of the chieftain he was tasked with protecting the village & his younger siblings Sokka & Katara. After their mother's death too much changed. To keep his remaining family safe he had to close off his heart and train relentlessly. The Avatar wasn't coming back. Or at least, that's what Ayaan thought, until a bald kid with blue arrows showed up.

She convinces him to take the deal, but the experience may prove to be very different than what she expects. Can she resist the attraction between them, or will she succumb to temptation?

In the year 96AG, a freshly banished 13-year-old Prince Zuko discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg. When Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver the Avatar to Ozai, Aang helps Zuko and Iroh escape. As he gets to know Aang, Zuko learns that everything he was taught was a lie, and begins to feel things he has never felt before. Originally posted on AO3.
