All the selected champions of Good and Evil were finally present, despite the Beyonder feeling that Evil's roster was 'incomplete,' hence the absence of other well-known villains such as the Zodiac, the Brotherhood of Mutants, and so forth. On the other hand, he knew that the Avengers and X-Men had made many enemies on both Earth and the outskirts of space. As such, the Beyonder decided to stick to the hero's most prominent foes. One of the said foes was Doctor Doom, who spotted the heroes, specifically two that he knew and hated the most. As such, he said their names quietly in both confusion and annoyance. "Stark? Richards?"

The next villain to notice his strange new surroundings was Otto, who looked around the throne room, completely perplexed. "W-What? Where am I?" The tentacled scientist asked out loud in confusion, then noticed the other villains he found himself grouped with. "Why are all of you-?" As he turned to the right, Otto spotted a particular web-spewing hero, who just happened to be his most hated enemy. 'SPIDER-MAN!" Otto exclaimed loudly, causing all the villains to turn in Peter's direction and with disbelief and fear in his voice. For the last time they faced each other, the young hero wore a different costume and had an angrier mindset, one that nearly drove the Web-Head to kill Otto in cold blood. Though confused as to why Peter was back in his old clothes, the memory of almost getting murdered and fear for his life was still fresh on Otto's mind and thus caused his emotions to ship from confusion to rage. And so, the seething Otto mentally commanded his tentacles to ram their razor-sharp pinchers into the floor and push him up into the air, a tactic he usually did to appear intimating to Peter whenever he was forced to battle him. "What madness are you planning by bringing us here, Arachnid?!"

Peter could only roll his eyes behind his eyepieces and let out an annoyed groan. "Seriously?" The aggravated Peter muttered as Otto was the second person to accuse him of having something to do with everyone being here. "Ock, look, I know I was a jerk when we last fought, but I had nothing to do with this! It's all thanks to-."

Before Peter could go on with his explanation, Alexi, the Rhino himself, let out an angry snort and showed that he wasn't interested in what the young Web-Slinger had to say by charging towards him with the intent of plunging his razor-sharp horn into the small black spider symbol on Peter's chest. Like Ock, Alexi also had a score to settle with the teen for stopping his crimes and humiliating him. Especially in their last fight, Peter had new clothes and an aggressive attitude.

Naturally, Peter stood ready to jump out of the way so as not to get trampled, but at the same time, this caused Hulk to smile, as this was another chance to finally pound someone and a villain no less. Other battle-hardened heroes, such as Thor and Hank Pym, looked ready to jump into the fray, with Thor charging Mjolnir with electricity and Hank using the new feature in his suit to grow eight feet tall. It didn't take long for the overly eager Hulk to leap towards Alexi with his fist cocked back, with the hammer-wielding Thor and gigantic Henry not too far behind.

But before a single blow could be struck, a section of the floor that was right in between the heroes and villains liquified, then rose and formed into a very tall wall, which surprised the Hulk, Hank, and Thor enough to make them stop in their tracks. However, Alexi wasn't so lucky, as he rammed his horn into and got stuck into the wall. After a few seconds, Alexi finally managed to pull his horn out of the wall but also managed to tumble backward and, caused most of his fellow villains to quickly move out of the way and allow him to fall flat on his armored backside.

The wall again melted into the floor, leaving the heroes and villains completely dumbfounded. An irritated grunt followed this, and as the stunned heroes and villains turned, they saw it came from a very visibly annoyed Beyonder, who raised his left hand. "In all my eons of observing life in this universe, I've come across primitive beings that you would call 'Neanderthals.' And even THEY have better manners than all of you!"

The villains looked at the Beyonder with confusion and anger from hearing his insult. And the first among them to voice his displeasure was that of Dr. Doom. "Your arrogance aside, am I to assume that you are the one who brought us here?" Doom asked defiantly, then showed what made him a dangerous enemy to not just the Avengers but the whole world in general. Namely, being a master of not just science but sorcery as well, as he channeled his energy into his hands and created glowing green circular runes around his gauntlets, ready to fire mystic bolts at the Beyonder, who already showed through the marble wall that he was too strong for his gauntlet's built-in energy blasters.

"Indeed, I am, Victor Von Doom," Beyonder replied, addressing Doom by his full name while looking at the armored tyrant's glowing hands with condescension. "And I'm getting very tired of proving my superiority over everyone in this room."

While most of the villains were smart enough to bite their tongues upon what they just saw the Beyonder do, the ever-loud Doctor Octopus chose to mentally command his tentacles to stomp toward the Beyonder to voice his displeasure. "Superiority?!" Otto exclaimed as he felt that word should belong to those who pursue science rather than such 'nonsense' as magic and saw the Beyonder as someone who was like the villain Mysterio, who used holographic technology to pose as a powerful being. "What are you babbling about?! Who are you?!"

"I have many names, Otto Octavius," The Beyonder replied calmly, then pointed his right hand in the direction of the heroes. "And as I've explained to your enemies, I am often called…the Beyonder."

Naturally, this reveal only left the villains even more dumbfounded than before, except for two. One of whom was the usually reserved Baron Mordo, who looked at the Beyonder in complete disbelief. Like Stephen, he also heard of the Beyonder through his studies under the then Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, and how his power rivaled that of the demonic entity known as Dormammu. "What?! You are the Beyonder?!" Mordo asked, feeling utterly stunned that the being of legend would appear as a mere human in white despite learning a long time ago about how looks can be deceiving.

Over on the heroes' side, Stephen was the one who answered his old rival, expecting his surprised reaction. "The one and only, Karl."

The second villain familiar with the Beyonder was Victor Von Doom, but instead of being in awe of him, he only saw him as an obstacle in his quest to become powerful enough in the mystic arts to conquer not just Earth but the universe. "Indeed," Victor replied, sounding unimpressed as he turned his attention to the Beyonder, with mystic runes still present. "But the question remains, why have you brought us here?" Before continuing, Victor turned back to the heroes and looked at them disdainfully. "And for that matter, why were these cretins brought here?"

As expected, Victor's words did not sit well with the heroes. Namely, Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm, both of whom were about to attack him with a growling Ben pounding his rocky fists together and a scowling Johnny literally smoking as he was about to burst into flame and his fiery form. Luckily, both men are stopped from attacking, with Sue stepping in front of her brother and holding his shoulders and Reed putting his elasticity to good use by wrapping his rubbery body all over his best friend to make him stop moving.

Rather than have members of his team, specifically Hulk and Thor, try and attack the villains and make things worse, Tony held up his hands to get everyone's attention, and more importantly, Victor's, so he could answer the tyrant's question. "Okay, Doom, here's the skinny," said the exasperated Tony, then pointed his thumb at the Beyonder himself. "'Disco Inferno' over here is curious about the aspects of Good and Evil and which side is better. So, he's setting up some experiment which pits the Good guys, meaning us, against the Bad guys, 'which is obviously you."

The next to address Victor was that of Reed, who struggled to keep Ben still. "It's true, Victor," the straining Reed said to his old college roommate, then looked at his still glowing gauntlets with a concerned expression. "And believe me when I say that it would be wise of you not to provoke him!"

Victor only acknowledged Reed's warning by narrowing his eyes at him with disdain. Because aside from his former roommate's scientific acumen that he, at least in Victor's mind, Reed constantly tried to prove was superior, he also found his sincere words of caution condescending, for Victor felt that the one person who knew when it was wise to take any action was him and him alone!

However, before Victor could voice his displeasure, someone else had already beaten him to it. Namely that of the Master of Magnetism himself, Erik 'Magneto' Lehnsherr, who was livid at this point in the company he was placed in. "Outrageous!" Erik yelled loudly, which caused everyone in the room to turn and look at him. Including the Beyonder, whom Erik addressed immediately. "I admit, I am no angel, but I am certainly no monster!" At that moment, Erik turned his attention to the Red Skull and the rest of Hydra. He narrowed his eyes at him with anger and disgust, for they represented a movement led by a psychotic megalomaniac that ruled over Nuremberg, Germany, during the Second World War. A movement that took the lives of his entire family and those of over six million people. And the very sight of them caused Erik's anger to increase further. "And I certainly am not like these…animals!" Erik spat with venom in his voice, then briefly breathed in and out through his nose to calm himself and returned to the Beyonder. "What I did, I did for the protection of mutant kind!"

Just like the X-Men, as well as everyone else he summoned, the Beyonder did not buy Erik's reasoning for why he did not belong to be among the villains, and as such, decided to let him know this while looking down at him with skepticism. "Such as taking control of the mutant-hunting machines known as Sentinels and having them attack Genosha, an island that YOU and filled with mutants that YOU said you wanted to protect, but instead put into danger. All to start your war against humanity, which had the X-Men not intervened, would have devasted the Earth and made way for a future where the machines, humans, and mutants suffered."

Immediately, Erik's anger turned to shame when he was reminded of his failed plan with the Sentinels and hung his head in disgrace. But the most painful memory of that experience was when his daughters, Wanda Maximoff and Lorna Dane, and the remaining mutants on the island all lost faith in him. And it was Wanda who took charge and had Erik, along with his son and only supporter, Pietro Maximoff, off the island and out of their lives.

As Erik sulked, the Beyonder continued to stare down at the former ruler of Genosha with discontent. "So, with this in mind, Erik Lahnsheer, I will thank you for sparing me of your hypocrisy. Because as far as your placement in this experiment is concerned, you are exactly where you need to be."

Moments after Eric was put in his place, both literally and figuratively, the moment is interrupted by the impatient and angry roar of Apocalypse, who stomped forward with his right foot, causing the floor to crack underneath him. "Enough of this foolishness!" Apocalypse roared. "Good and evil are meaningless abstracts! What truly matters is that the strong survive and the weak perish!" Here, Apocalypse concentrated and reshaped the molecules in his right arm, having it take the form of a giant cannon and pointing it right at the Beyonder, with pink energy charging down the barrel. "Thus, I shall demonstrate this by making an example of you! Consider it an honor!"

Moments later, a very irritated Amora channeled her demonic power into her hands to create flames from out of her palms, confident that her enhanced magic, courtesy of Surter, would be enough to reduce the Beyonder into ash. "And allow me to show what happens to those who think they can use the Demon Queen as a pawn in whatever foolish game they've conjured up!"

It didn't take for another villain to try and attack the Beyonder, and this time, it was the killer robot Ultron, as he calculated that if he could handle powerful beings like Thor, he could take this being in the white. And he stood ready to do so by holding his steel hands up and charging them with red energy. "BEYONDER. CLASSIFICATION: THREAT IN FURTHER OPERATIONS TO DESTROY HUMANITY. CONCLUSION: TERMINATION."

Normally, seeing three powerful villains about to destroy something or someone was intimidating enough. Still, the heroes were more scared of the Beyonder, given that they saw him make quick work of the Hulk, and knew that this would end badly for the mutant tyrant no matter how strong he was. And out of all the said heroes, it was Tony who, albeit reluctantly, stepped forward to try and warn the shape-shifting mutant of what was about to happen. "Uh, hey, guys, listen, you don't want to do that! The Beyonder's not as-!"

Ignoring Tony's words of caution, Apocalypse, Ultron, and Amora fired their respective blasts, with the Beyonder being the target.

As for the Beyonder himself, he could only roll his eyes and grunt in annoyance, as this was now the third time he had to show the champions that he gathered that attacking him was futile. In Apocalypse's case, he merely held up his left hand and made the blasts stop just a few inches away from him and formed into three floating balls. As Apocalypse, Amora, and everyone else in the room looked completely dumbfounded, the Beyonder looked at the stunned villains that attacked him with a look of indifference. "Do these belong to you?" The Beyonder asked Apocalypse calmly, then pointed his index finger forward, which caused it to zoom towards the shooters, with Apocalypse's blast hitting the ancient tyrant in his grey-skinned face and Ultron in his chest plate, causing them both to fall flat on his backs.

As for Adora, she stood there in complete shock upon seeing her fire blast get repelled so quickly and was paralyzed with fear upon seeing it come her way! But before it could hit and incinerate her, Amora's faithful protector, Skurge the Executioner, quickly stepped in front of her with his arms opened wide and took the blast head-on. Unfortunately, once the mystic fire made contact, it burned through not just his armor but his flesh and his muscles, and until finally, his bones crumbled into dust and blew away. Adora only stood there mortified, not because she had just watched her most loyal minion die before her eyes, but because the Beyonder was so powerful; he redirected her blast with a simple gesture.

As for the dazed Apocalypse and disoriented Ultron, they lay there until finally, the floor underneath them liquified once again and caused them to sink and cover his entire body except their faces. Upon regaining his senses, Apocalypse was stunned to be looking up at what wasn't the ceiling but what looked like space with bright white stars, and feeling his arms and legs frozen in place within the floor and, despite his best effort, couldn't utilize his incredible strength to burst free.

Suffice it to say the X-Men were shocked to see Apocalypse, the all-powerful mutant that nearly defeated them and brought forth a dark future, sink into the floor after being brought down like he was nothing.

Moments later, they, along with the other heroes and villains, all turned their attention to the Beyonder, who now pointed his hand at the floor to bury Apocalypse and Ultron into the floor and left them struggling in vain.

With his three attackers dealt with, the Beyonder lowered his hand and noticed Victor's still glowing gauntlets, much to his annoyance. As such, he looked up at Victor's faceplate and locked eyes with him, his indifferent expression still present. "If you still plan on attacking me, Victor Von Doom, your chances of killing me will be no different than theirs."

Victor narrowed his eyes at the all-powerful being dressed in white. For if there was one thing he hated more than an opponent who possessed a power that rivaled his, it was one that surpassed his. And so, as much as it pained him to do so, Victor decided to humor this 'Beyonder' and play his game until an opportunity to eliminate him properly presented itself. "First of all, I would like to clarify one thing. I consider this 'experiment' of yours an insult. For Doom is a Guinea pig to absolutely no one!" Before continuing, Victor calmly ceased concentrating, which caused the glowing runs to disappear and allowed him to place his hands behind his back to stand in a superior posture. "But you've made it obvious that attacking you is futile, and I am a man who knows his limits. Now out with it! What would you have us all do to satisfy your childish curiosity about Good and Evil?"

The Beyonder couldn't help but raise an eyebrow out of slight intrigue at Victor's defiance. True, he knew that this tyrant of Latvaria had an ego, but to have one so huge that he would talk down to an all-powerful being was mind-blowing. However, the Beyonder was happy to see that Victor was smart enough to know that fighting him was a bad idea, and thus rewarded the dictator by giving him this answer. "By battling one another, of course."

Naturally, this answer left both the heroes and villains confused. Most notably, the Hulk, who let out a loud, angry grunt. "If that's the case, why didn't you let us smash these idiots?!" The green goliath roared, pointing at Alexi, who was still sitting on the floor in a daze.

Another hero who shared the Hulk's sentiments was the former Avenger Hank Pym, who was just as irritated on being robbed of the chance to pound some villain's heads in. "What he said," said the disgruntled Hank, pointing his thumb at Hulk.

"Oh, do not misunderstand me," The Beyonder replied with a lighter tone. "I have full intention of letting you 'smash each other.' I just don't want you to do it in my throne room." Knowing that elaboration was in order, the Beyonder waved his right hand and created another large screen. It showed the planet that the Beyonder had set his sights on before bringing his chosen champions to his throne room. "This is Planet Athia, located in the farthest reaches of your galaxy. In some ways, it is similar to Earth, but with obvious differences." With a simple mental command, the Beyonder made the image zoom closer to the planet and its large continent in its vast oceans. "Namely, most life takes place here in the continent of Alandra, which is ruled by the Allied Kingdoms."

Here, the Beyonder held up his right hand and channeled a small portion of his power to form a white energy orb the size of a basketball. Moments later, he mentally commanded it to float up to the screen so he could point to the countries that made up Alandra. The first country the ball stopped was in the very center of the continent, to which the Beyonder spoke the land's name. "Amia." The ball then moved to the left corner and stopped at the country that appeared to be a large desert. "Senset." Moments later, the ball traveled to the right, stopping in the smaller, neighboring country. "Britta." As it moved to the right, it stopped at the massive country at the bottom right corner. "Paix." It didn't take long for the ball to move upward to the large country at the upper right corner. "Shin La." The ball then continued to move left to the final country, which was the largest country and appeared to have a huge mountain that took up most of its top portion. "And Ava."

With another mental command, the Beyonder zoomed the image on the screen to show a closer look at the planet. Or more specifically…

AVA

…which was a land of vast, beautiful forests of tall trees, clear blue skies, and clean, flowing rivers. Near the forest was what appeared to be a small town called Rilo, where the small buildings had a sleek, almost metallic-like appearance and had long white-colored cables attached to them with clear tubing on the inside and gold energy flowing through them. The purpose of the tubing was to provide clean power to not just the town but the four towns that encircled it. The town's citizens were all humanoid men, women, and children of different skin and hair colors, but all had the similar distinction of possessing long, pointed ears. Their attire appeared identical to that of the modern clothing on Earth but instead seemed shinier and more streamlined. On the chest of their shirts was the national sign of Ava, which was a gold circle rimmed with a white outline and a matching white silhouette of a woman with a dress, pointing her hands upward. The purpose of said symbols was to adjust the size to fit their bodies properly. Most unusual of all was that some of the humanoids all wore white rings with a gold stone on top and also possessed a distinct feature of having blonde bangs above their brows.

While some townsfolk went about their lives by walking on Rilo's sidewalks, they got around in other ways. Whether it was the younger adolescents who rode on white hoverboards powered by bigger, almost softball size white crystals located on the base and sleek vehicles that resembled the automobiles on Earth but had four hover thrusters instead of wheels and powered by much larger crystals under the hood.

"One other key difference is that the planet's primary inhabitants, the Athians, possessed technology far more advanced than yours," The Beyonder narrated. "And with it, they managed to wipe it clean of pollution and disease, thus turning it into what you would call a utopia."

With another command, the Beyonder changed the image once again. Still, this time, to what appeared to be that laboratory, two Athian scientists, both male, with one being an older, balding, pale-skinned stocky man with a white mustache and a younger, thinner, fair-skinned man, wore goggles and lab coats as they stood right in front two large containers, with the left container holding what looked like dirty, muddy water. The container on the right is empty. Between these two containers was a gold stone the size of a medicine ball, which was attached to an engine-sized machine connected to them through wires. It was a device designed to be a water purifying machine, with the energy serving as a power source, and the time had to come to test it.

With everything ready to proceed, the older Athian held up and pointed a hand-sized remote at the containers and pressed the button, activating the machine, which caused it to make a humming sound and the stone to glow brightly. From then on, the machine began its function: drain the dirt from the left container, have it flow through the device, and, much to the two scientists' delight, pour it into the empty container completely clear and fully clean. This result caused both scientists to smile in accomplishment, then turn to each other and shake hands.

"All thanks to using gems that possessed great kinetic energy as a power source for said technology that helped them improve and maintain life on the planet known as Athia Stones, which were often found and taken from in the planet's crust or mountains. And in Ava's case…"

The Beyonder once again changed the image, but this time back to the large forest, which was also the location of a large mountain, one that stood tall over the forest of tall trees and was not only the biggest of the country, but throughout all of Athia as well. Namely, the bottom half of the mountain was a large rocky crust just as any other, which also had specially built-in mines where the Athian workers, all of whom wore white hooded jumpsuits with specially made silver gas masks, pushed hovering containers that housed numerous gold Athian Stones and loaded them into giant hover crafts were shipped to any local towns in Ava.

"Within the depths of Mount Ava…"

As he continued this narration, the Beyonder moved the image upward to show the upper half of the mountain and what made it stand out from most mountains, not just to towns in the country but throughout all of Alandra as well. Namely that, instead of a top with a pointed tip, it was that of a large city, with buildings that, one hundred years prior, were chiseled out of the mountain's surface itself and given marble plating, with their interior being made into numerous rooms and floors, and as the years followed, received technology advanced renovations as well, especially when bridges and Athain Stone powered railways were added. Standing over these buildings was a tower that stood in the city's center and was so tall it almost touched the clouds. At the top of the skyscraper was a huge gold Athian Stone, which was big enough to be compared to a bus and glowed in a blinding white light almost as bright as a sun. Like Rilo, it was also attached to long white-plated cables with clear tubbing, which allowed it to transfer its energy to a large metallic base that it was attached to, and in turn, transferred its power not just to the skyscraper but the entire city as well, and would give it a shining, beautiful appearance at night.

At the top of the skyscraper, more specifically, in a throne room that was right underneath the machine that transferred the Athain Stone's power to the city, a tall, Athian man who appeared to be in his early fifties, with jade green eyes and long greying red hair in a ponytail and a red matching beard. His attire was gold clothing underneath a massive white robe with gold trimmings, and on his head was a large, pointed white crown with a gold gem on the front. On his right hand was a ring that contained an Athian Stone but on that was more unique than all of the others. Namely it was primarily white with a gold dot in the center that looked like a pupil, giving it the appearance of an eye. From the ring, to his attire, all was required to be worn by a king.

"And ruled by High King Airdan, ruler of Ava, as well as all of the Allied Kingdoms of Alandra."

Airdan looked down through the window at the city, watching the citizens of the city carry on with their lives by walking through the bridges from one building to the next, riding through trains that moved at high speeds without making a sound, or driving hover crafts through the air, creating traffic lines in the sky. These were the people that this king served and protected, and through struggle and great help from the royal counsel that served him, he provided the citizens of Ava City many years of peace. Despite the great results of his reign, Airdan still had a worried expression on his face. For an event to relinquish his crown was drawing near and though he couldn't explain it, the High-King couldn't help but feel that a great threat was coming to endanger his people, and prayed that whatever it was, the next person in line to be the High King would be up to the task of taking it head on, for the sake of not just his family, but for his people in Ava, as well as all of Alandra. However, little did Airdan know, he and all of Athia had caught the attention of a certain someone back in…

THE BEYONDER'S THRONE ROOM

…Namely, the Beyonder himself, who, after completing the planet's introduction, briefly turned to look at the heroes and villains, many of whom looked at the screen in awe.

One of them was an astonished Reed Richards, who couldn't help but stand in pure amazement at the planet's technology. "Remarkable!"

Also watching the feed was an equally amazed Peter, who looked at the screen with wide-opened eyes behind his bug-eyed lenses. "Compared to their tech, this makes ours look like cheap knockoffs."

Peter's words soon reached Tony's ears via the audio receptors in his helmet, and he couldn't help but be offended by them, given that his technology is regarded as the best in all of Earth, and thus looked at the masked teen with a no- so-pleased expression behind his faceplate. "Yeah, way to dig your hole deeper, kid."

Hearing the annoyance in Tony's voice was enough to make Peter realize what he just said, and he quickly turned and awkwardly looked at Tony with shame and embarrassment. "Oh, god, I am so sorry about that!"

Over at the X-Men's side, a smiling Kitty didn't hear Tony and Peter exchange words, as she was too transfixed on what she saw on the screen. "Awesome! It's like Lord of the Rings, two-point-oh!" The X-Girl said happily, as the technology and the pointy-eared inhabitants pleased both the sci-fi and fantasy lover in her.

Hearing the gleeful X-Girl mention the name of the fantasy series was enough to shock Peter out of his awkwardness with Tony and bring out enough of the geek in him to make him turn to face Kitty and ask her this question. "Wait, do you mean the novels or the movies?"

Naturally, this brought Kitty back to reality. Thus, she turned and faced Peter with a stunned expression, stunned that he shared her interests and even more amazed when he mentioned the first medium the series was announced. "Wait, you read the books, too?"

Peter laughed somewhat sheepishly when Kitty confirmed that she also read the books, and it also didn't help that Kitty was quite attractive and someone he wouldn't mind spending the day with. "Well, I read the first novel when I was in middle school and had to report on it, but I enjoyed it! I mean, the movies are great, but-."

Suddenly, Peter and Kitty's pleasant conversation is cut short when Clint, already frustrated with being stuck in a room full of his and his teammates' enemies, walks in between Peter and Kitty with his arms held up in annoyance. "All right, all right, have your geek-out moment later!" Clint exclaimed to Peter in particular, as he felt that 'nerd culture' was distracting from the main issue. With that, he looked up at the Beyonder, all while pointing his right hand at the screen, which still showed Ava City. "What I want to know is what the hell 'Elf Planet' here has to do with any of this?!"

Before answering, The Beyonder closed his eyes and let out an exacerbated scoff at Clint, as he thought the archer was smart enough to have everything figured out by now. "Not to mock your ailment, Clint Burton, but you clearly aren't the best listener. For I have chosen Planet Athia as the place for you and your enemies to battle one another. My chosen…Battleworld."
