Anomaly: 024

NAME: Tomorrow's News

CLASSIFICATION: A

DESCRIPTION:

LEVEL: Mythic. Nearly Became Reality Class Anomaly

INFORMATION: Anomaly 024 aka Tomorrow's News is to be contained at an off-site facility called, Viewing Station. Viewing Station is to be staffed by no more than four scientists of numerous branches of ARC CORP. Their purpose is to watch Tomorrow's News and dictate what news deemed important to ARC CORP and distribute their findings to the other branches.

Tomorrow's News is news broadcaster Lisa Lavender which suffered from an Anomalous Transformation which resulted in her transforming into a plasma screen TV showing Lisa Lavender herself alone in a TV News set that reveals the exact details of what will happen tomorrow that is deemed in her eyes as news worthy.

HISTORY: Lisa Lavender was a top reporter for the Vale News Network 6pm news, covering Special interest Stories, Celebrity News and Gossip and other breaking News stories. Specifically news which featured an abundance of tragedy, heartbreak and other tear-jerker stories. Over the last few months her ratings have been low for three consecutive months and have been placed at the 10pm news slot with her 6pm slot being replaced with another news reporter. Not only that, but her salary has been frozen. This has been theorized that these series of events triggered an Anomalous Transformation which granted her a new form along with precognitive abilities. Abilities which allowed her to accurately predict the next days news.

This garnered the attention of ARC CORP's CONTAINMENT OFFICE led by Jaune Arc and Blake Belladonna along with every faction in the City of Vale from the police to Council Members to even local Organized Crime. It even garnered the attention of foreign dignitaries that were in attendance for the 40th Vytal Festival. Most notably, General James Ironwood of the Atlas Military and Atlas Academy.

During their investigation, the Containments Branch encountered an opposing team made up of specialists from Atlas, which the Kingdom of Atlas had disavowed as a result. They have been identified as Vine Zeki, Marrow Amin, Harriet Brie, Clover Ebi and Elm Ederne.

They soon found out that Tomorrow's News was in fact Lisa Lavender herself who underwent an Anomalous Transformation and was hooked up to the network via the TV signal, found it and acquired it.

The result of this was not without some form of collateral damage. In the acquisition of Tomorrow's News, the Atlas Specialists mentioned were found with their minds completely wiped with the only thing they know was their names. Feeling sorry for them, CONTAINMENTS Director Jaune Arc pulled some strings to have them employed by Vale Police Department in hoping that their memories will be restored. The other was people's interest in the broadcasts prior to the anomaly's apprehension.

A solution was found.

Using vast resources and a week of preparation, a cover story was made where the broadcasts by the anomaly was a clever marketing campaign for a sci-fi/action movie called Tomorrow's News. Critics around the world had deemed it the worst movie ever, with a rating of one star on Fresh Avocados with a petition with over 500,000 signatures to never let the two leads, played by Jaune Arc and Blake Belladonna to never act again.

Most recently, both themselves and the film have been nominated for the Theatrical Trophy Awards for Best Worst Actor/Actress and Best Worst Film. It is also here that they encountered Anomaly 900 aka On the Silver Screen. (See the report on the incident for more details.)

A/N: Funny story about this particular anomaly. I originally wrote this particular anomaly Tomorrow's News as a VHS Tape which features 24 hours worth of news between the four kingdoms and menagerie. THEN, Cour Al'Aran posted the chapters along with the Anomaly with the same name. So I rewrote the whole thing, scrapped my idea and wrote this chapter based off his Anomaly.

On The Silver screen, however is my own original Anomaly which will be written eventually.
