Super Smash Bros Adventures chapter 29
A few days has passed since Mario saved Peach from Princess Shroob and Elder Princess Shroob. It's been a hard day since not only because of the return of his past enemies, but almost losing one of the most important person in his life. As things started to ease, everything was back to normal.
Mario and Luigi are finishing up a mission by saving a lot of kids from thieves by starting their attack with their Swing Bros attack. Mario grabs Luigi's arms, spins him around like a tornado, and throws him like a torpedo, hitting a Thief on the stomach with his Green Missile attack, sending him flying and knocking down multiple thieves at once. A Thief attacks Luigi from behind, but Mario charges in and Punches him in face, knocking him out. The rest of the thieves got scared and started to run away. Mario and Luigi got in position for their Fire Bros combination attack. Mario throws a barrage of Fireballs into the air, combining them into one giant Fireball. Luigi hits the Giant Fireball with a hit from his Hammer, sending it flying towards the Thieves and hitting them all at once. The Thieves were all defeated and Mario and Luigi won the battle.
"Yahoo!" Mario and Luigi say together, as they high-five each other.
The kids that were taken all run to them and thank them for saving them.
"Thank you so much!"
"We thought we won't ever go home."
"Will you take us home now?"
"Of course! Why wouldn't we?" Mario says.
"How about you teach us those moves you just did? So next time something bad happens, we'll be ready to fight!"
"Ahh… when you get older we'll teach you. Took us some time to practice these moves." Luigi says.
"We shouldn't be even teaching them at all." Mario thinks to himself.

After completing their mission, Mario and Luigi return back to the Smash Mansion.
"What a good mission." Mario says.
"The kids were actually attempting to do one of our special moves. Luckily their parents stopped them." Luigi says.
Mario laughs. "Kind of wish to see how it went."
"It's been a while since we did our Bros Attacks. We should do them again." Luigi says.
"Maybe even do them when there's a doubles tournament. We can surprise
a lot of Smashers." Mario suggests.
"Great idea! We should even think some new ones. The last time we made new ones when we were with your Paper version of yourself." Luigi reminds.
"Oh yeah… Wonder what he's up to." Mario wonders.
"Also I remembered I got kissed by both our Peach and the Paper version of her." Luigi mentioned with a grin.
"No need to rub it in." Mario says, crossing his arms.
Luigi laughs. "No need to be jealous. By the way… How you feeling after seeing Prince Haru the first time?"
"He seems like a really nice person. We were talking about the things he does, our adventures of saving Peach, and things we enjoyed doing. We even talked about things they did together and how they met. I'm actually glad to know more about him." Mario says.
"That's good to hear. I also thought he's a really good person. We were talking about our favorite cakes that Peach bakes." Luigi says.
"That's funny. Wish that I was there for that conversation." Mario says.
"You know… Lyn must've helped you a lot when you were all gloomy." Luigi says.
"She has and I won't ever forget it. I want to do something nice for her, but don't have any ideas." Mario says.
"Hmm... Why not get her a present?" Luigi suggests.
"A present? Yeah... I can get her a gift! But what should I get her?" Mario wonders.
"Get her something she enjoys a lot. You two get together a good amount of times. What are the kinds of things she like?" Luigi asks.
"Let's see... She likes the Plains, sweets, cute things. Umm... She likes to fight a lot and loves using her Manni Katti Sword." Mario says.
"That's it! Get her a gift that resembles some Swords." Luigi says.
"That would be kind of hard though. I don't think there's anything that can be a nice gift resembling a Sword." Mario says.
"Then take her out for shopping and treat her something nice to eat. I think that's a good enough gift." Luigi says.
"Sounds good! Now I have a better idea on what to get her. Thanks for the help, Bro." Mario happily thanked.
"That's what brothers are for." Luigi says, patting him on the back. "I'll see you later, Bro."
"Yeah. See you next time." Mario says.
Mario looks around the Smash Mansion for Lyn. He looked in the Cafeteria, Ball Room, Library, and the Smash Room, but couldn't find her. Last place he checked was in the Training Room and luckily he found her training against a Sandbag.
Mario goes inside the training room. "Hey Lyn... Whoa!" The Sandbag was sent flying towards his direction and hits him in the face, knocking him down to the ground face first.
Lyn gasps and quickly rushes to Mario. "Oh my gods, Mario!"
Mario takes the Sandbag off of his back and gets back up on his feet. "That was a surprise. You must be training hard."
"Oh thank Mother Earth and Father Sky. I didn't know that you were coming. Sorry about that." Lyn apologizes.
"It's ok, it's ok. Just wondering… do you want to go to Smash City with me? We can hangout and grab something to eat." Mario asks.
"Oh sure! I was actually thinking of taking a break from all this training. Getting kind of hungry too." Lyn replies.
"Great! Here, let me help you clean up." Mario says.
After the two clean up, Mario and Lyn head to Smash City.

The two Smashers arrived and walk around together. Smash City seems to be a lot livelier with all the people out shopping, eating, or just hanging out.
"Ok, everything is going as planned. Now to figure out what to get her and thank her again for always being there for me." Mario thinks to himself.
"Mario? Mario, are you listening?" Lyn asks.
"Oh what? Sorry, I didn't hear you." Mario replies.
"Is there anything you need to buy?" Lyn asks.
"Not really. What about you?" Mario asks.
"Well there's something I want to buy at Smash Mart. We can go there first before we grab something to eat." Lyn suggests.
"Of course! Lead the way." Mario says.
The two Smashers arrived at the Smash Market and went to the hair accessories aisle. Lyn is looking at some hair ties for her ponytail.
"This is your chance, Mario. You can get her hair ties for her gift." Mario thinks to himself.
Mario and Lyn went to the register to pay for the hair ties. Lyn brought out her wallet, but Mario quickly takes out some Smash Coins.
"Don't worry, I got this." Mario says, paying for Lyn's hair ties.
"Oh… Umm... Thank you for paying for me, Mario." Lyn thanked.
"All right! I got her something! But… is this really enough for her? Seems kind of small to just get her that." Mario thinks to himself.
The Smashers leave Smash Mart and walk around to figure out what to eat. The two head to the food court and look at the many different places to eat at
"So what do you feel like eating?" Mario asks.
"Hmm... where yo go?" ALyn looks at the food places and found one that caught her eye. "Let's go to that place."
Mario looks and sees a Crepe stand not too far from them. "That looks delicious. Sure let's go."
Mario and Lyn walks up to the Crepe stand and look at the menu.
"Do you know what's a crepe?" Lyn asks.
"I describe it as a really thin pancake where it's filled up with fruits or sweets like chocolate. Think of it like a sandwich, but a lot sweeter." Mario explains.
"Sounds delicious. I'll try the white chocolate crème crepe with banana and mango." Lyn orders.
"And I'll get the chocolate delight with strawberry and blueberries." Mario orders.
The Worker takes their order and start making their crepes. Mario and Lyn watches from the side and stare with awe at how the crepes are being made on the griddle, then filling up with the ingredients of each crepe they ordered.
"All ready. Is this paid separately or together?"
"Separ-" Lyn got interrupted.
"Together." Mario answers quickly.
The Worker tells the price of the crepes and Mario gives some Smash Coins to him. They left the crepe store and enjoy their delicious treat.
"Look at this beauty!" Lyn surprisingly says.
"Now you need to try it and see if you like it." Mario says.
The two Smashers take a bite of their crepes and were really enjoying their dessert.
"This is great! How's yours, Lyn?" Mario asks.
"It's delicious! Never thought I would experience something so good." Lyn answered.
"Knew you would say that from the reaction of your face." Mario says.
"Oh really? Now I feel embarrassed." Lyn says, slightly blushing.
"No need. I always act like that when I eat something delicious. Want a piece of mine?" Mario asks.
"Sure." Lyn replies.
Mario takes a piece off of his crepe and gives it to Lyn. Lyn eats Mario's piece of crepe and enjoys it as much as her crepe.
"Yours is really good too. Here, try some of mine." Lyn says, taking piece of her crepe off.
"No it's ok. I'm actually getting kind of full with mine." Mario says.
"You sure? I think I should at least give you a taste of mine." Lyn asks.
"Don't worry about it. Just enjoy your crepe." Mario says, as he continues eating his.
Lyn continues eating and started thinking to herself, why Mario is being nice to her all of a sudden.
"Before we head back to the Smash Mansion, is there anywhere else you want to stop by?" Mario asks.
"There's one place I want to go and they have something I really want. They're a pair of earrings." Lyn explains.
"Earrings?" Mario wonders.
"They look really pretty and I'll show them to you when we get to the store." Lyn says.
"Bingo! These earrings will be the perfect gift for her." Mario thinks to himself.
After the two Smashers finished their crepes, they're on their way to the store that Lyn wants to go. As they arrived, Lyn shows the earrings that she wanted to get. It looks like three pairs of Swords in each earring and it's color is bright gold, showing off it's nice shine.
"Wow, just look at them." Mario surprisingly says.
"I always wanted to get these for a while now." Lyn says.
"They're three hundred Smash Coins for earrings. That's a lot of money." Mario says.
"Luckily I have enough to… wait." Lyn looks at how much Smash Coins she have in her purse and was short by fifty coins. "Shoot! I'm low on coins."
"How much do you have?" Mario asks.
"Two hundred and fifty coins. Just needed fifty and I'll be able to get them." Lyn replies
"Maybe I can help." Mario offers.
"No it's ok. You already paid for my hair ties and the crepes. I'll get them next time when I get more money. Thanks for for the offer though." Lyn says.
The two leaves the store and head back home. Mario thought to himself that this is his best chance to get them while they're out of the store. Now he needs to find an excuse of going back.
"Guess that's it. Ready to head back home?" Lyn asks.
"Uhh… Actually, I need to go check something for Luigi right quick. Would it be ok if you stay here?" Mario asks.
"Go right on ahead. I'm in no rush." Lyn replies.
"Thank you. I'll be gone only for a few minutes." Mario says.
Mario rushes back to the clothing store they were at and bought the earrings that Lyn wanted. The Worker kept them in a nice pink box and gives it to him.
"Here you are, sir. That'll be three hundred Smash Coins."
"Thank you so much." Mario happily thanked, giving the Smash Coins.
"Earlier I saw you here and you suddenly came back. Did you come back to buy those earrings for the pretty lady?"
"Who Lyn? Yeah, they're for her. I want to get these for her for being a great friend." Mario explains.
"Oh? I thought you two are actually dating."
"Dating? Oh no, we're just friends. Nothing more." Mario explains.
"Is that so. You and her reminded me of me and my husband when we were younger. He always finds ways of getting me gifts of things I laid eyes on. You're such a sweet gentleman and I hope that she likes the gift."
"She will... I promise you that. Have a nice day." Mario says
Mario puts the earrings in his pockets and returns back to Lyn.
"I'm back!" Mario says.
"That was quick." Lyn surprisingly says.
"Yeah, the store didn't have what my brother was looking for. Ready to head back?" Mario asks.
"Sure. Let's go home." Lyn replies.
"Mission accomplished!" Mario thinks to himself.
…
The two Smashers arrived back at the Smash Mansion and discussed how they can't get over of how good the crepes were.
"The taste of the crepe I had is still on my tongue." Mario says.
"Me too. The crepes we got were amazing. Let's go back again next time." Lyn suggests.
"Of course! We should take some other Smashers to that place also. They would love it!" Mario says.
"You know… There's been something on my mind since we went out together. You're being really nice to me today." Lyn points out.
"Have I not always be nice to you?" Mario wonders.
"What I mean is you paid for my hair ties and treated me for a delicious crepe. You even offered to help pay for the earrings I wanted, which made me really happy. I feel like there's a reason you're doing all this for me." Lyn replies.
"Oh that… I just want to… You know… Mario sighs and takes out a little box out of his pocket. "Here. Take it."
Lyn takes the small box from Mario's hand. "What's this?"
"Open it up and see for yourself." Mario says.
Lyn opens up the little box and gasps as she sees the earrings she wanted to buy earlier. "Mario… You got the earrings for me."
Mario giggles. "Surprised?"
"Very! I didn't think I'll be able to see them until next time. Why did you get them for me?" Lyn asks.
"Well… Since that day when I saved Peach from the Shroobs and Prince Haru came to visit, you really helped me out during that time. I've been thinking of what I should do to make it up to you. So Luigi helped me out by telling me to go to Smash City with you and get you a nice gift. Think of it as a thank you from me for helping me out with my problems." Mario explains.
"Mario, I helped you out because I care about you. I didn't want to see you all sad and depressed, because I want to see the happy person you always are. You didn't have to do all these nice things for me. I can pay you back for everything you got me." Lyn says.
"No need to pay me back anything. I just wanted to do it because I want to. You helped me overcome this dark feeling I had when Peach didn't accept my proposal. I truly appreciate what you've done for me so that's why I wanted to pay you back for being there for me. Mario lets out a big smile to show how thankful he really is yo Lyn. "Thank you for being a good friend to me, Lyn.
Deep inside Lyn was a nice warm and fuzzy feeling of kindness. She can't help but feel happy as how much of an impact she made to a friend she made not too long ago. She wants to be someone that can help a lot of people like how all her friends from her world did to her.
Lyn smiles greatly and accepts the gifts she received. "You're welcome, Mario, and thank you for everything today. I won't forget the kindness you did for me. I hope we grow a stronger bond in the future and watch each other's backs."
Watching from upstairs, Link, Pit, Luigi, Fox, and Shulk are spying over Mario and Lyn as they overheard their conversation.
"Well this is a nice scene we have here." Fox says.
"It's good to start up small and grow later on." Link says.
"Hey Shulk, can you use your future sight to see what it's like for them in the future?" Pit asks.
"No thank you. I rather just wait and not spoil it for all of us." Shulk says.
"Mario looks so happy when she's with Lyn. It almost made me want to cry." Luigi says, wiping off a tear.
"Well I should get going. The crepe made me feel really sleepy." Lyn says.
"Same here. I just want to lay down on my bed and dream about the different kinds of crepes I didn't get to eat yet." Mario says.
Lyn giggles. "I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Yeah. Good night, Lyn." Mario says.
"Good night, Mario." Lyn says.
Mario and Lyn say their goodbyes and went their separate ways. As Mario went upstairs he sees Luigi and rest gathered together and act "normally".
"Hey guys. What you guys up to?" Mario asks.
"Umm… Nothing… just standing." Fox replies.
"Standing?" Mario wonders.
"Yeah! It's not like we're watching over you and Lyn or anything like that." Pit says nervously.
"Uhh…. What?" Mario asks with a confuse look.
"Pit!" Shulk cried.
Pit realized what he just said and covered his mouth. "I mean, we were just over hearing your conversation!"
Link sigh in disappointment. "Pit… you and your big mouth…"
"We're Sorry bro. We just wanted to see how it went with you and Lyn that's all." Luigi apologizes.
"No need to apologize. It was a great day since we got to spend time with each other and I got her a nice gift. So everything went well." Mario says.
"That's good to hear, mate." Shulk says.
"Glad everything went well between you two." Fox says, giving a thumbs up.
"So does that make any progress with your relationship romantically?" Pit asks.
"Pit!" The Smashers yelled at him.
Mario looks at the Smashers and burst out laughing as they joined along with him.
Later at night...
Lyn is preparing to go to bed as Corrin and Bayonetta arrived in the room.
"There you are, Lyn." Corrin greeted.
"We've been looking all over for you." Bayonetta says.
"Oh really? Did you two go somewhere?" Lyn asks.
"Just went to go on a mission with Peach, Zelda, and Samus." Corrin says, changing into her pajamas.
"We thought you wanted to join us, but it seems you were busy." Bayonetta says, changing into her pajamas.
"I was busy training and then went to Smash City with Mario." Lyn says.
"So that's where you went." Corrin says.
"Those earrings look beautiful on you. Really fits your style." Bayonetta compliments.
"Thank you. Mario actually bought these for me." Lyn says.
Corrin and Bayonetta were surprised what Lyn said. They didn't expect somebody to give her something since Lyn's not looking for a relationship right now.
"How thoughtful of him. You two seem close." Corrin says.
"Mario is a really special friend to me. Always so kind, friendly, brave, he's somebody I really respect. Earlier today I was supposed to buy these earrings with my own money, but I didn't have enough Smash Coins. But he surprised me by buying them for me when he told me he wanted to check on something for Luigi. Instead, he surprised me with the earrings which made me really happy. I'll have to repay his kindness when I get my chance." Lyn says.
"Aww, how adorable. If you want to pay him back, how about giving him a huh?" Corrin suggests.
"A hug? Not sure if that'll be enough." Lyn says.
"How about a kiss on a cheek?" Bayonetta suggests.
Lyn's face turns bright red. "A kiss?! No way!"
"Why not? His Princess Peach always gives him a kiss on the cheek every time he saves her." Bayonetta says.
"But... I don't feel comfortable with doing something like that." Lyn says.
"It'll be cute to see you do that one day. I'm sure the Red Plumber would be happy with that kind of gift." Bayonetta says, licking her lips.
"I'll just postpone this when the time is right. I'm going to bed now." Lyn says, marching into bed.
"Good night." Corrin says.
"Sweet dreams." Bayonetta says.
As Lyn is about to sleep, she puts away her earrings and smiles at them as they're a special gift from Mario.
