Seasons

Yoshiko met her in spring.

The Sakura trees had already blossomed, coloring the city with their mesmerizing pink tonalities and filling the air with their sweet scent. And Yoshiko couldn't help but decide to go out for a calm walk to enjoy the nice weather and the views.

As she traveled through the streets, she discerned a burgundy haired girl in the distance, her silhouette backlighted by the sun making her shine like an angel.

The strong color of her hair contrasted perfectly with her porcelain skin and made her golden eyes stood out even more.

A sudden gust of wind blew, rocking her hair in the air and Yoshiko felt her breathing getting caught in her throat as she admired the captivating sight of the Sakura petals swirling around the mysterious girl.

When she heard the girl's lovely and melodious laugh, Yoshiko knew this mortal in angel disguise just shot an arrow to her heart, enchanting her.

She bit her lip and hurried away from the captivating scene unfolding in front of her afraid to be trapped in the silent spell the stranger just casted on her while her heart pounded loudly and fast for the unknown girl.

Yoshiko knew she liked the pianist as the first scorching sunrays of summer came.

She, Mari and Riko had just finished the dance routine for a new Guilty Kiss song when Yoshiko flopped onto the floor to rest, sweat rolling down her face.

- This feeble vessel of mine shall not endure more torture – she said dramatically, resting her face against the cold floor tiles to cool off and catch her breath.

- You're such a weak fallen angel – Mari snorted, pestering her.

- Shut up! – Yoshiko bickered back.

Riko couldn't help but look at the exchange between them with an amused smile on her face before she heard Mari talking again.

- I'm going to refill my bottle of water, be good kids – she said chirpily and jokingly, making Riko chuckle and Yoshiko grunt in acknowledge.

Once the blonde left the music room, Riko stood up and approached the youngest girl to place her cool bottle of water against the blue haired girl's temple, giggling while the young girl just groaned but accepted it happily nonetheless, taking it to press it against the cheek that wasn't pressed hard against the floor.

The burgundy haired girl just giggled again at her antics before walking away to sit on the piano bench and start playing a short piece for the both of them.

It was quite hot outside, but Riko's giggles and playing were refreshing enough to regain Yoshiko's spirit again.

Yoshiko slowly and steady started to fall in love with Riko in autumn, as the red, orange and yellow leaves began to fall and paint everything with their colors.

One afternoon, as the rain poured down onto the fallen leaves standing out their colors and adorning beautifully the concrete, Yoshiko found herself walking back home alone underneath it, just as she usually did.

As she walked and admired the landscape with a soft smile on her face, she couldn't help but compare those bright colors to Chika, Hanamaru and Mari, chuckling at her own comparison before she got trapped in the beauty and majesty of a big tree with hundreds deep-red leaves dressing up its naked branches.

She stopped to take a better look at it before a hard gust of wind blew, taking her umbrella away with its strength.

Yoshiko instantly started to feel the bare raindrops wetting her skin and soaking her clothes.

- Damn it! – she cursed out loud, stomping in a puddle before sighing dejectedly and resuming her walk back home at a fast pace, hugging herself to try to keep some warmth within herself.

Suddenly, she stopped feeling the rain colliding against her skin, looking up to find the fabric of a light pink umbrella above her head.

- Silly, don't tell me you forgot your umbrella at home?

She heard somebody telling her softly and turned her head to find Riko smiling fondly at her.

- I, huh, my umbrella decided to fly away.

As soon as she pronounced those words, she heard Riko giggling cutely at her bad luck.

- I also thought about that possibility.

- Then why did you accuse me of forgetting it first!? – Yoshiko said outraged, making Riko giggle harder.

- Sorry – Riko apologized while she kept giggling quietly.

Yoshiko couldn't help but pout offended, before sighing and looking at Riko.

She felt her heart skipping a beat, seeing her burgundy haired friend giggling so carefree with the big tree and its deep-red leaves in the background, standing out the color of her hair.

She couldn't help but be completely mesmerized by such captivating sight.

- Let's go back home – Riko told her as her giggling calmed down, a fond smile playing on her lips.

Yoshiko just nodded, starting to walk next to her under the refuge of her umbrella, trying to calm her heart down.

Yoshiko knew she loved Riko in winter, just as the first snowflakes started to fall and cover everything in white.

She and Riko had agreed to make a visit to the shrine together but Riko was strangely running late, which left Yoshiko by herself.

The blue haired girl sighed, hugging her coat tighter against her body already feeling the cold seeping through it after had been waiting out in the open for around 20 minutes.

Before she could pull her phone out to check it, she felt a pair of strong arms hugging her from behind, pulling her into the warmth of another body.

She squealed and struggled in the tight embrace before she heard a cute giggle in her ear and felt a pair of soft lips leaving a fleeting kiss on her cold cheek.

- Sorry, I overslept. Were you waiting for too long? – Riko said, rubbing their cheeks together much to Yoshiko's great embarrassment.

- N-no – Yoshiko mumbled, blushing hard.

She heard Riko giggling one last time before she pulled away from the embrace to take her hand in hers, intertwining their fingers in an attempt to keep them warm.

- Should be go now? – she said with a smile on her face.

- Yeah – Yoshiko answered unable to utter another word, following her before she stopped dead on her tracks.

- Yocchan? Is everything okay? – Riko asked her worriedly as she felt a pull in her walking and turned to see the younger girl standing in the middle of the open area, taking a deep breath.

- I... I love you.

Yoshiko suddenly blurted out, making Riko blush yet smile timidly at her. Then, Yoshiko saw Riko stepping closer to rest their foreheads together and cup her cheek.

- I love you too – Riko whispered against her lips before she shortened their distance and kissed her sweetly, deeply, conveying all the things she felt for the younger girl into the kiss.

Another season may end soon, but Yoshiko still has more new seasons to keep falling more in love with Riko and discover what they will bring with them.
