"So, Danny," Jack said, facing his son and his friends.

Danny sighs as he and his friends were dragged by his dad to the lab. Both he and Azazel were meeting up to learn about their powers. Danny learns how to switch at will and discovers he could walk through walls, disappear, and fly. However, Azazel seems to have a better idea of her powers. Through everyone wondered why the portal gave her angel powers and Azazel guessed she got the less bulk of the portal and must have gained different powers. The three brought it as they didn't know much about the portal themselves.

"You and your little friends want to hunt ghosts?" Jack asked.

"Uh, actually, Dad? I want to be an astronaut." Danny said.

"Sorry, Mr. Fenton. I was into ghosts, but they're so mainstream now. They're like cell phones." Sam added.

"Waste these looks and all this charisma hunting ghosts? Criminal." Tucker shivers.

"I'm studying under God, Mr. Fenton. I can't mess with ghosts." Azazel finished.

"Well, if you do want to hunt ghosts, there are a few things you need to learn," Jack said, facing away.

Danny was about to sigh before seeing a blue mist from his mouth and notices Azazel's eyes widening. They both turn to the Fenton Portal, which opens by itself and two ectopuses floated out. They grab Tucker and Sam while Jack doesn't notice.

"True, I've never seen a ghost, but when I do, I'll be prepared," Jack said as Danny and Azezal nodded at each other.

"And so will you. Whether you want to be or not." He said, not noticing the white light and the white feathers behind him.

"It all starts with your equipment." He added, not hearing the fight behind him and seeing Tucker and Sam being flung back into their seats.

"Sam, Tucker, this is the Fenton Thermos." He said, handing the said thermos to Sam.

"It's supposed to trap ghosts, but since it doesn't work yet it's just a thermos. A thermos with the word "Fenton" in front of it." Jack said, not seeing the ghost flying behind him.

The ectopuses look defeated and dizzy and fly back into the portal. Another white light and white feathers are seen as Danny and Azazel stood next to each other. The quickly notices that Danny's father was starting to turn toward the portal and jumps away.

"And that? That is the Fenton Portal. It releases ghosts into our world whether I want it to or not. And someday, I'll figure out how that works too. Now, who wants to hunt some ghosts?" Jack finished.

Sam and Tucker were trembling in their seats as Danny panted. Azazel was trying to help her friends, wondering how Mr. Fenton didn't notice what was going on.

"You kids, look at you! You're too excited to speak! So I'll just go on speaking. I was born many years ago in a log cabin in the woods. Don't exactly remember where, but I do remember I wanted a pony. Never got the pony. As a matter of fact, we had to eat horsemeat during the war. I had a problem with that." He said.

Danny just hangs his head as Azazel sighs.

'Well, at least I know that my angel powers can deal with ghosts.' She thought.

A few days later,

Danny sat at the table, eating his cereal as his sister read a book. His mom was working on something he didn't really care about, and he was thinking about Azazel. Danny wasn't sure, but ever since she came into his life, things were a bit different for him. She fit in with the group quite well and was very open-mind about things. She got along with Tucker and Sam and rarely got angry. But Tucker did try one thing that really made her mad. A couple of his tech-greeks friends dared him to steal a girl's panties, and he knew Sam would kill him if she found out. So, he went after Azazel's. When she found out, she slap him so hard that he was knocked to the ground. Azazel yelled at him and didn't talk to him for almost 3 weeks before she forgave him. But for some reason, she seems to be more comfortable around him. Why? He can't even stop thinking about how Azazel's Angel form looked like the girl he met during preschool, only with the wings.

He was snapped from his thoughts when his mother spoke up.

"Okay, two more days, and it's done!" She said, smiling.

"What did you say? It's done?" Jack asked, picking up the invention.

"The Fenton Finder is done! This baby uses satellites to lead you right to the ghosts." He said, causing Danny to worry.

"It uses what to track what?" He asked, shocked.

"Welcome to the Fenton Finder. A ghost is near. Walk forward." The Fenton Finder spoke.

Jack and Maddie did so, not seeing Danny backing away. He soon found himself hitting a wall as his parents looked confused.

"Ghost located. Thank you for using the Fenton Finder." It said, making Danny give a weak smile.

"What? Oh, that can't be right." Jack said as both he and Maddie miss seeing their son turn invisible.

Danny was able to will himself back before giving a look of defeat.

"Actually, I need to tell you guys something." He started to say.

"That's not all you need, Danny." Jazz spoke up for the first time.

"You need guidance and parents who can provide it." She said, causing Danny to sigh.

"Sweetie, I know what we do doesn't make sense sometimes, but you're only..." Maddie started.

"Sixteen. Biologically!" Jazz finished.

"But psychologically, I'm an adult! And I will not allow your insane obsession with ghosts to pollute the mind of this impressionable little child! Come, you abused, unwanted wretch. I'll drive you to school." She said, pulling Danny away.

"Huh. That's weird. Jasmine never offers to drive Danny to school." Maddie said, surprised.

"That can only mean one thing. That's not our daughter; that's a ghost!" Jack shouted, chasing after them.

"Danny, no! It's a trap!"

Later,

Danny was able to meet up with his friends as he told them what happened this morning. Azazel felt bad for him. Unlike Danny, she had better control of her powers due to being an angel all her life, but did have trouble controlling her new wings.

"I think I should tell them," Danny said, sighing.

Azazel nodded but Sam spoke up first.

"Why? Parents don't listen. Even worse, they don't understand! WHY CAN'T THEY ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM?!" Sam shouted.

Azazel shook her head. She met Sam's parents once and quickly saw the kind of people they were. They tried to act friendly towards her but didn't even hide their distrust toward Danny and Tucker.

"Sam, I-I'm talking about my powers, my problems?" Danny reminds her.

Sam blushed in embarrassment before trying to save herself.

"Oh, right. Me too." She said.

"Anyway, I think Danny's right," Azazel said, surprising the teenage boy.

"Your parents are the only ones in town that study ghosts. Maybe you should tell them." She said, smiling.

Danny smiles a little before frowning again.

"It's been a month since the accident and I still have barely any control! If somebody catches me, I go from geek to freak around here!" He said, not noticing he was sinking through the floor.

"Kinda like what you're doing right now?" Tucker pointed out.

Danny looks down and freaks out a bit. All three of his friends grab him and pull him up. Danny will his legs back to normal before groaning.

"Gah, darn it! If my dad can invent something that accidentally made me half-ghost, why can't he invent something that turns me back to normal?" He said, unknowingly walking through a snack machine.

Azazel looked worried before Sam rushed up to him. Azazel has started to notice that Sam was trying to get closer to Danny and saying things to cheer him up whenever he felt bad. At first, she didn't think much of it. It was just a friend trying to cheer up a friend. But as time went back, she began to think that there was something else between them and it was starting to hurt her heart.

"Danny, your powers make you unique. Unique is good! That's why I'm an ultra recyclo-vegetarian." She said, causing Azazel to sigh.

"Which means what?" Tucker asked.

"She doesn't eat anything with a face on it," Danny said.

"In other words, she doesn't eat meat," Azazel added.

"Who cares about that stuff? Danny, two words: meat connoisseur." Tucker said, sniffing the air.

"Last night, you had Sloppy Joes. And you had roast beef." He said towards both Danny and Azazel.

"Impressive," Danny smirks.

"And a bit weird," Azazel added.

"Meat heightens the senses, and my all-meat streak is fourteen years strong," Tucker said, proudly.

"And it's about to end. The school board finally agreed to try a new cafeteria menu. I wore them down." Sam said, smirking.

"Sam, please tell me you didn't." Azazel sighs.

"Wait, what did you do?" Tucker asked.

Lunch,

Danny looks surprised as Azazel shook her head. They were both handed some bread that look to have grass growing on it.

"What is this? Grass on a bun?" Danny asked, picking it up.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Tucker shouted.

"Tucker, it's time for a change," Sam said, smiling.

Azazel shook her head. She walks over to the trash can and threw her tray away. She then walks back towards Sam and glares at her.

"Not this kind of change." She said, taking Danny's try and also throwing it away.

"And she's mad," Tucker said, remembering being on that end with her.

She then pulls out a bag before pulling out a sandwich and cutting it in half. She gave the other half to Danny as she sat down.

"Three weeks, Sam," Tucker said, going to join them.

"Come on! It's not that bad!" Sam said, walking towards them.

Later,

Danny, Tucker, and Azazel glare at Sam as many other people looked unhungry at what was served.

"Don't you think this is a little extreme, Sam?" Danny asked.

Sam only smiles when Mr. Lancer places a hand on her shoulder.

"Ah, Miss Manson. The school board wanted me to personally thank you for ushering in this welcome experiment to our cafeteria." He said, smiling.

Suddenly, Tucker started to sniff the air.

"Meat. Near." He said, turning to Mr. Lancer.

"No, no. The rumors about the new all-steak buffet in the teacher's lounge are completely untrue." Mr. Lancer said before patting Sam's shoulder.

"Thanks again." He said, walking away.

"Yeah, thanks again for making us eat garbage, Sam," Tucker said, glaring at her.

"It's not garbage. It's recyclable organic matter." Sam said, holding up the bread with grass on it.

"It's garbage." Danny and Tucker said.

"And very unhealthy for people," Azazel added.

"And how is it?" Sam asked.

"For one, grass. The human body can't eat grass as most animals can. We can not get the same nutrient that they do. And one more thing." Azazel said, seeing a plate that had three balls of mud.

"Mud?! Really?!" She shouted, making Sam flinch.

"Uh, guys? I've got a problem." Danny said, seeing a blue whisp appearing out of his mouth.

"FENTON!"

"Make that two problems," Danny added.

Everyone turned to see Dash Baxter walking up to him, holding a plate of mud.

"I ordered three mud pies. Do you know what they gave me? Three mud pies. With mud. From the ground! All because of your girlfriend!" Dash shouted.

"She's not my girlfriend!" Danny said.

"I'm not his girlfriend!" Sam also said.

Dash didn't care and grabs Danny. Azazel narrow her eyes and stood up. However, she spotted something from the corner of her eye as Dash continued to rant.

"These are the best years of my life! After high school, it's all downhill for me! How am I supposed to enjoy my glory days eating mud?! He shouted.

"Actually, it's topsoil." Sam corrected him.

"Whatever!" Dash said, putting Danny in a seat before placing the plate in front of him.

"Eat it. All of it!" He told him.

Azazel had enough. She stood up and grabs the plate. Dash looks at her before Azazel threw it in his face.

"YOU eat it! You order it!" She said, seeing Danny's ghost sense appear.

"Uh...uh...GARBAGE FIGHT!" He shouted.

That was enough for everyone to start throwing their food, glad to find something useful for it. Even the A-Listers that didn't like the food joined in, actually having fun.

"It's not garbage! It's..." Sam started only to be pulled down by Danny.

"It's garbage," Azazel whispers.

The four crawl away until they reach the cafeteria door. Danny and Tucker peek in, seeing a floating Lunch Lady.

"Huh. Shouldn't be so bad. She looks a little like my grandmother." Tucker said.

"Shouldn't she be haunting a bingo hall?" Danny asked, wondering what the ghost was doing here.

They walk forward, allowing the girls to enter. The Lunch Lady heard them and turn around.

"Hello, children. Can you help me? Today's lunch is meatloaf, but I don't see the meatloaf. Did someone change the menu?" She asked.

"Yeah. She did." Tucker said, pointing at Sam.

"YOU CHANGED THE MENU?! THE MENU HAS BEEN THE SAME FOR FIFTY YEARS!" She yells, shocking the group.

"Get behind us!" Danny said, knowing that he and Azazel had to deal with this.

Tucker got behind Danny as Sam got behind Azazel.

"Wow, I feel safe," Sam said, sarcastically.

"I'm Going Ghost!" Danny said as a white ring appeared around his waist.

It spits, changing his clothes into the black and white jumpsuit as his hair turns white and his eye became green.

"For the love of God, Amen," Azazel said, making two giant wings appear out of her back.

She floated a bit before the wings cover her. They soon move away, having Azazel in her normal angel look. The Lunch Lady looks in shock when she saw her.

"An Angel?! Here?!" She asked, floating back a bit.

Danny looks at Azazel and couldn't help but blush a little. Every time he saw that form it not only reminds him of the girls he met years ago but also notices how pretty it made Azazel. He shook his head. This was no time to get distracted. They had a ghost to stop.

Azazel was surprised that the ghost knew what she was, but she also know she had a duty to uphold. As mad as she was at Sam, she wasn't about to let the girl get hurt.

And after 2 months, I finally bring you the first half of Mystery Meat. Danny Phantom episodes keep taking a little out of me so I decided to split the episodes into two parts. As you can see, Azazel is much closer to the group now. She still hasn't found out why Danny was able to see her, but she has grown to become his friend. She also started to devolve feelings for him, since the first episode takes place one month after the accident that gave Danny his powers. And a lot could happen in a month. Danny and his friends did learn some things about Azazel as well. Danny is also starting to gain feelings for Azazel, but if you all recall, Danny was never good around girls, so it will be some time before they do get together. I'll see you all for part 2 of Mystery Meat.
