Chapter 4: The Hobbits in the Attic
"I remember you" Pippin piped up, "you're that hobbit Frodo, Merry, Sam & I saw in the Shire"
The mysterious hobbit left wordlessly and came back with another Hobbit (this one wearing black and, having some sort of blade at his hip). John opened his mouth to ask where either of the two newcomers had come from, but then something caused him to close it. It looked like the two mysterious Hobbits and Sherlock were going to have a 'Deduction Off' when Frodo intervened.
"Before anything else happens," he said "Would you mind allowing the four of us to stay with you for a bit?" he asked John (since to Frodo, he was more approachable). The six of them arrived at 221b Baker Street and an elderly woman opened the door.
"Where were you two?" she asked.
"They were getting clients" answered one of the Hobbits (not Pippin or Frodo) before either John or Sherlock could. At the look she sent him, the Hobbit added "I'm Bagöl Farfield and this," he gestured to the Hobbit in black "is my older cousin by four years, Rumür Farfield. We're close enough to be brothers, rather than cousins." he laughed a bit at that.
"I'm Mrs Hudson, dearie" she said. Both Farfield Hobbits sent her a Look that said "We know you are". This did not escape Sherlock (or Frodo & Pippin). After Mrs Hudson (or Mrs H as the two Farfields preferred to address her as) let them in, the consulting detective, doctor & Hobbits saw yet another Hobbit getting kicked (from somewhere) downstairs.
"How many more Hobbits are there?" John finally asked.
"Not including the ones you've already seen? Three" answered the Hobbit picking himself up. Sure enough there were three more Hobbits. One of them looked stern, (lacking in a sense of humour) and was naked above the waist. A second was a female Hobbit (there was also a ghost Hobbit who looked to be her sister). A third looked like John in Hobbit form. The Hobbit who had answered John's question spoke again:
"I'm Ferdinand Lightfern, by the way" he said. He introduced the other four (ghost included) as Richard, Fleur, Verde (the ghost) & 00BB. (A/N: I will warn you when I introduce other characters). Seeing the necklace-thing that Bagöl was wearing, Ferdinand (if they wanted they each could call him 'Ferdy' for short)'s eyes lit up. No sooner did he see it, than he was rummaging for something. Finally bringing out a book, he opened it to information on the necklace-thing.
"'The Plasmatear'" he read. He didn't continue when he was interrupted by footsteps. Looking at Sherlock and the Farfields he added "Maybe 'Deduce Off' later"
No sooner did he say that, then the footsteps were heard coming up the stairs.
A/N: Please let me know if you thought I've introduced too many charcters for one chapter. Also the Farfields, Fluer, Verde, 00BB, Richard & Ferdy belong to me. The others I do not own.
