Danny sighed as he saw Dash pushing him against his locker, smirking.
"Well, Fenton? Guess what time it is?" Dash said.
"Like I have to guess? It's the same with you, Dash. Besides, you don't need any extra money." Danny told him.
"No, but I still want it," Dash said.
"And what if I don't?" Danny asked.
Dash just smirked before holding Danny upside down and started to shake him. Luckily, Danny was ready and was able to stop his money from falling out. Dash saw him place his hands in his pocket, frowning at that. He drops him before grabbing Danny again. Before Danny could complain, Dash held both of Danny's arms up with one hand and took his money out of his pockets. Dash drops him again and walks away. Danny frowns as he stands up. Luckily for him, Danny had extra money in his locker.
Lunch,
Danny paid for his lunch and got ready to eat. Before he did, he felt something hit the back of his head. He turned to see Dash laughing before going back to eating. However, Danny notices his food disappear and Dash doesn't stop laughing. When he turned back around, Dash was gone. He stood up and saw everything fade away and saw only red eyes and mouths laughing at him.
Danny was starting to get scared. What was going on?! He wanted to get away from them, but everywhere he looked he saw darkness. And that those red eyes laughing at him.
"Leave me alone," Danny said, trying to block out the laughter.
The red eyes kept laughing as if he told a joke.
"Leave...me...ALONE!" Danny shouted, causing a red light to shine out of his chest.
It forced all the red eyes to scream as the darkness was forced away. Danny panted before falling to the ground, suddenly tired. The red light slowly faded from his chest as Danny passed out.
"Hello? Are you awake?"
Danny groans as he hears someone talking.
"Five more minutes." He said, turning away.
"Wow, you're really a sleeper are you?"
Danny groans as he tries to roll on the grass to get...wait, grass? Danny opened his eyes to see he was lying on the grass and sat up. He looked before spotted someone watching him.
"Um, who are you?" He asked.
"Well, you should start with your name first." The person said, smirking playfully.
Danny notices this person is dressed much like a jester. Another thing he noticed was the lack of neck and their hands weren't attached to their arms. He stood up before sighing.
"I'm Danny. Danny Fenton." He said, looking at the person.
"You call me NiGHTS." The person said.
"Okay?" Danny said before looking around away.
"Where I am?" He asked.
"This is your Nightopia." NiGHTS said, floating around.
"Nightopia?" Danny asked, looking around for the third time.
"Yep! See those doors?" NiGHTS pointed.
"They lead to different parts of your dreams. Each of them shows what you dream of the most." It said.
Danny walked up to one of the doors and tried to open it.
"It's stuck!" Danny said, trying to pull.
"That's because it's locked."
Danny almost jumped when an Owl landed on top of the door as it spoke.
"It's been a while since we had visitors in Nightopia." It said.
"I'm dreaming, ain't I?" Danny asked.
"You bet!" NiGHTS said, floating around Danny.
"Your real body is still safe in the waking world." The Owl said.
"That's good to know," Danny said, sighing in relief.
"So, why is this door locked?" He asked.
"It's not just this door." The Owl said, turning to the others.
"Each door not only holds one part of your dream, but they also hold your Ideyas." The Owl said.
"Ideyas?" Danny asked.
"Your dream energy. They are what make your dreams real!"NiGHTS said.
"You have five Ideyas each. Each of them representing your dream. White Ideya of Purity, Blue Ideya of Intelligence, Green Ideya of Wisdom, also known as Green Ideya of Growth, Yellow Ideya of Hope, and Red Ideya of Courage." The Owl said.
Danny blinks, red... He recalled something before waking up here.
"I saw some red eyes that were laughing at me. I tried to get away before a red light shined from my chest." Danny said.
"Oh, dear." The Owl said as NiGHTS looked at bit trouble.
"What?" Danny asked.
"It sounds like the Nightmarens have gotten to you." The Owl said.
"Nightmarens?" Danny asked, confused.
"They work for Wizeman the Wicked. A powerful Nightmare that steals visitors' Ideyas in order to enter the waking world and rule over all. It seems it still hasn't given up after last time." The Owl said.
Danny could guess that this Wizeman wasn't that smart if its plan failed the first two times. However, NiGHTS floated around him, looking happy for some reason.
"Why not check out your main dream right here? It's what your Red Ideya made." NiGHTS said, looking for some fun.
"Well, I guess it won't hurt to look around," Danny said, thinking about it.
"Always so quick to jump at the chance of fun, you carefree rascal." The Owl said, smiling.
Danny follows NiGHTS as it shows him his main dream. However, Danny couldn't help but notice that it looked small.
"Why is this place so small?" He asked.
"It has to do with your missing Ideyas. But, we still have lots to do!" NiGHTS said, still flying around.
"What's is that like?" Danny asked, making NiGHTS turn to him.
"What?" It asked.
"Flying. It looks fun." Danny said.
"Oh, it's lots of fun! Want to try?" NiGHTS said, floating closer to him.
"How?" Danny asked, confused.
NiGHTS smiled and held up its hand, confusing him more.
"It's okay. Just touch it." It said.
Danny did so before a red light covered both him and NiGHTS. When it faded and Danny could see again, he saw NiGHTS was gone.
"NiGHTS? Where did you go?" Danny asked, looking around.
"I'm right here, silly!"
Danny blinks hearing NiGHTS's voice in his head.
"Where?" He asked, lost.
"Look at your hands."
Dany looks down at them before his eyes widen in shock. He turns to a lake and looks into it. To his surprise, he saw that he looked just like NiGHTS!
"What the?!" He said, surprised.
"Relax, We Dualize. Your courage is pretty strong! That's why none of the Nightmarens could steal it!"
"Wow..." Danny said, surprised.
"Well, time for that flight I promise. Let me take control for now."
Danny blinks before finding himself floating in the air. NiGHTS flew around, making sure Danny would enjoy it. It did a few loops, spins, and even aerial swirls. Danny found himself laughing and having fun.
"So, this is what flying is like?" Danny asked, smiling.
"Yep! I love being able to fly!"
Little did they both know, someone was watching them, someone that had to report back to their Master.
"NiGHTS...you will pay for betraying us." It said.
Okay, I don't fully expect everyone to know the character that I'm using, seeing how this character has only two games throughout its life. Now I said it because the Character is genderless, but I did read that it was up to people. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you a Danny Phantom Crossover with NiGHTS. What's NiGHTS? Well, it is a Sega Game that was made by the Sonic Team back in 1996 on the Sega Saturn. It was known as NiGHTS into Dreams. And it had a sequel called NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams on the Wii in 2007. And there has been no other game since. About 16 years. NiGHTS mostly appeared as cameos in other games. In fact, NiGHTS appeared in the new Sonic Superstars as a robot for the multiplayer, so Sega hasn't fully forgotten about it.
I will be rewriting this story again but with a female lead. After thinking, I'm going to use Star. She is one of the few Danny Phantom Characters that's not well known and has a lot of ideas that could work for her. And I'm not expecting to see a lot of reviews on both stories, because I strongly suspect that that not a lot of people know of NiGHTS.
