Hi Readers: My apologies for having troubles when it comes to writing my story. However, I have decided that I am going to go back to my roots again and return to Matt and Gabby. Though, this will NOT be a new story. Rather, it will be a re-write of my previous series. The Caseys. I hope to make this story longer, with me adding more to the story you all know and love. Thanks again for reading and let me know if you guys have any ideas as to where you want this new version of the story to go. Now, let's get on with the show.
Chapter One
Casey Home – September 27, 2018
He hasn't felt this way in months, happy to be home. In fact, he's rarely ever spent much time here at home ever since he had a fight with his wife a couple months ago; a fight where he told her the worst thing he could've ever told her: that she couldn't have a baby. And while she did have the ability to get pregnant, that didn't mean that it was wise based on the advice which they've received from doctors; the reason being that she has an aneurysm while can easily keep her if she got pregnant. And that was the entire reason why Matt didn't want to get his wife pregnant, because he didn't want to kill her; though the same couldn't be said for his wife, who was very much interested in getting pregnant. He just doesn't know how they're going to move forward from this, especially since he hasn't seen or spoken to his wife in a while; other than yesterday when they spoke over the phone at the firehouse. And that just made this task even harder, the task of coming home to an empty house once more. At least, he thought it was an empty house.
But now that he's in the home, he's come to realize that it isn't an empty house; due to the fact that there was something different going on. There were new shoes near the door, a new coat on the coatrack, which all belonged to his wife, Gabriela. So, he decided to call out for her, thinking that she was here. "Gabby?" Not hearing her say anything back, Matt took a breath as he thought he was going crazy; that was, until he heard something: the shower. Which made him think, why would the shower be running when he's the only one home? Well, the only person he thought was home. Though, that wasn't the truth; in fact, he wasn't the only one home. Rather, his wife is home as well; but, she's just in the shower right now. And let's just say that Matt was more than ready to get in there with her as he wants to be with her. God, he's missed holding her in his arms and just taking it easy with her; he's missed the feeling of her soft lips on his. He just hopes that she's interested in him joining her in the shower, though he has feeling she might.
After all, it'd be a chance for them to try and have a baby; so, she'd be more than open to letting him get in the shower. Plus, she's probably missed him just as much (if not more) than he's missed her. So, he decided that it was just time. Time for him to get in the shower with his wife; though, first, he needed to grab his bag and make his way into the bedroom where his wife was. Or, where he though his wife was, which is precisely where he walked towards when he grabbed his shift bag. He carried it with him through the house and to his and Gabby's room, with the hopes of seeing his wife precisely where he wants her to be. He wants her in the shower, because he's missed her and wants to take things slow with her. He wants to hold her in his arms, as he apologizes to her, which is something he hopes he can do in the shower. Though, he'd understand if she didn't want him in the shower; I mean, he hurt her and he's well aware that was the case. God, he's missed her so much and he will truly do anything to fix things between them.
And that all starts with him being a bit romantic with his wife, hopefully.
She still remembered the shift days by heart, which meant that she remembered that yesterday was one of Matt's shift days; so, she decided to just stay here yesterday. Take it easy and just relax, unpack, and concentrate on getting ready to see her husband for the first time in a couple months…since they had that horrible fight in the entrance to their home, a place where they should love each other rather than fight with each other; but, that's precisely what they did. They fought with each other and just have been having a hard time of late, which is why she came home from Puerto Rico; she came home because she wants to fix things with Matt, which requires her to be here. She already knows that, due to the fact that she just knows Matt would never join her in Puerto Rico. But, she wants to be with him; so, she decided to bite the bullet and just come home without telling him. That way, he couldn't stop her from doing so. Though, that was the last thing he would've ever done considering he's missed her so much. He's missed having her home.
He's missed holding her in his arms, sharing a bed with her, kissing her, loving her, and just talking to her.
They haven't really spoken very much in the past couple months due to the poor reception she had in Puerto Rico, and due to the fact that they never found a good time to talk to each other, which was good in her opinion due to the fact that it meant that they didn't have to have stupid fights with each other. Rather, they could just take it easy and relax with each other. But now, her time in Puerto Rico was over and that meant it was time for her to get things back on track with her husband; she needed to come home and (hopefully) fix things with Matt. And that all started with her making him a nice breakfast before he got home, though he was already home and was most certainly very happy to see his wife in the shower. God, he's missed her so much and is very turned on by the sight of her silhouette in the shower stall; she just looks so damn sexy, and he can't wait to get there with her. But first, he needs to flirt with her so that he can tell her that he's home. "God, now if that isn't a nice silhouette of my wife in the shower."
God, she's missed that voice. Her loving husband's voice. And she's just so glad that she just heard it, as that means that he's home. "I think that you mean your wife, not her silhouette." Agreeing with Gabby, Matt smirked and agreed with Gabby as he walked up to their shower in a towel; after all, he hopes that he can do something with her. But first, he plans on opening the door to the shower and getting a good look at his wife. "Wow, so my eyes aren't deceiving me. You really are here." Hearing Matt say that, Gabby took a breath as she knew that she and Matt had a lot to talk about. "Yeah, sorry I didn't call. I should've told you that…." Reaching into the shower, Matt tugged Gabby's body against his chest and smiled due to the fact that he's very happy to see her, which he showed her by leaning in and kissing her softly. "Don't apologize for that. I'm just happy you're home safe, especially since I've missed you." Gabby agreed with her husband as he told her that he missed her, as she missed him too. "Enough to call a truce?"
Matt was confused when he heard Gabby say that. "A truce about what?" Gabby sighed. "The fight we were having." Matt nodded as he agreed with his wife. "I was hoping not to mention it yet." Gabby agreed with him as she reached out and grabbed his hand. "I already washed up. You want to use the shower?" Matt smirked. "Only if you stay with me. I'd rather you stay here because I missed you." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that's precisely what she wants to do. She wants to take things nice and slow with him in the shower, because she missed him. "I missed you too." Smiling as Gabby said that, Matt proceeded to take off his towel and hung it up next to hers on the hooks; prior to getting in the shower with the woman he loves and stepping close to his gorgeous wife. Stepping into the shower, Matt closed the door to the shower and then pushed her against the wall; meanwhile, Gabby placed her hands on his toned chest and just smiled due to the fact that this is what she's been missing in Puerto Rico. "God, I've missed you." Matt agreed.
After all, he felt the same way. He's missed her too and is so happy that she's home; something he showed her by placing his hands on her hips and leaning in so that he can kiss her even slower. "I've missed you too Gabby, and I'm sorry." Gabby agreed with Matt as he placed his hand on the side of her face, prior to leaning in and kissing her softly. "I mean it Gabby. I'm so sorry about everything, especially what I said to you. I know that we have a lot to talk about and a lot to work out, but I'm just glad you're home. Gives me hope that we can work things out between us, with the hopes of us staying married." Gabby smiled, agreeing with Matt as he said that, as that's what she wants. "When did you get home?" Gabby smiled. "Yesterday, took the time to unpack and just get over my jetlag. I thought about going to the house but…" Placing his hands on her sides, Matt sighed. "I know, you wanted to come see me in private, rather than have everybody there when we reunited for the first time. Didn't want to risk us fighting in front of them."
Gabby just looked down as Matt said that. "Hey, I understand. And I know we have a lot to talk about. I just hope that you being here today means that you're here to work things out between us. To just fix things between us." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that's precisely why she's home. She's home so that they can fix things between each other. "That's precisely what I want. I want to fix things between us, and I want to talk about how. I don't know what we can do, but I just know that I don't want to loose you Matt." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before kissing her forehead as he wrapped his arms around her. "Listen, I need to clean up as I had a hard shift." Gabby agreed with her husband. "Yeah, I saw that you were a bit distracted and all over the place when I drove by." Matt was shocked. "You drove by and didn't say hi?" Gabby sighed. "I didn't want to do it there; in case you were mad at me. I heard that voicemail." Matt agreed with his wife. "I know, and I regret leaving you that angry voicemail." Gabby agreed.
After which, she felt Matt kiss her forehead softly. "Listen, I want to hold you in my arms and just relax with you. Can we go do that? Maybe we can take it easy and figure out our steps forward?" Gabby agreed with her husband as he asked her that, as that's that she wants to do as well. She wants to lay down in bed with Matt, cuddle up to him and figure out where they go from there. "Just curious, would you be open to taking time off?" Looking down at his wife. "Let me guess, you want to get away?" Gabby took a breath as she looked up into Matt's eyes. "I think it's what we need Matt. I need time with my husband. We need to talk and just concentrate on each other for a bit." Matt agreed with Gabby, before placing his hand on her neck and leaning in to kiss her softly. "Luckily for you, I took the next couple days off anyways." Gabby was confused. "I was going to find you in Puerto Rico, as I thought it was time for you to come home. Us having that video chat made me feel that way." Gabby laughed, as that was precisely what made her come home.
Looking up into his eyes, she then proceeded to tell him that. "I felt the same way when we ended that call. I literally went to work with the team, and that night I told my supervisor there that it was time for me to go home. For me to go be with my husband and fix things between us." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby tell him that, before bending down and kissing her softly. "Well, I'm glad, because I want to be your husband for the rest of my life babe. And that means we need to be together." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that's precisely what she was thinking. "Well, how about we just take a shower and concentrate on each other for a bit? Let's just be happy and not think about the work we have to do. Let's just celebrate that we're back in each other's arms for good." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before stepping close to her and placing his hands on her neck as he pushed her back against the wall; meanwhile, Gabby wrapped her arms around his back and smiled as they took things nice and slow with each other.
Coming out of the washroom in his boxers after taking a shower with Gabby, Matt smirked due to the fact that he was very happy right now; happy to have Gabby in his arms once more, especially now that she was back in their bed. And as he walked out, he just loved the sight that came with her being in their bed. And weirdly enough, it felt like she never left. "God, I love the sight of you being in bed again. Makes me feel like you never left." Gabby sighed. "But, I did leave and I'm sorry that I was gone so long." Matt shook his head, as he didn't want to talk about regrets right now. "Right now, I'm exhausted; overly exhausted if we're being honest, as I haven't been able to sleep that well since you left. Things have been…different around here." Gabby sighed as she looked at her husband when he told her that. "Good different, or bad different?" Matt bit his lip. "It's been a bit of both. It's so quiet when I come home from shifts. I just missed you and that's where we can leave it for now. I don't want to fight, not when I want to hold you in bed right now."
Gabby agreed with her husband as he told her that, well aware that he wants to hold her in bed right now. "I had a feeling you were going to say something like that." Matt smiled as Gabby said that, prior to making his way over to his side of the bed. He then proceeded to look at his gorgeous wife, very happy to finally have her back in their bed. "Is the truce still on? Or do you want to start talking?" Gabby sighed. "Can we wait? I know you're tired." Matt agreed with his wife. "Yes, but not too tired to work on us. Gabby, I want to work things out with you; but, I need to sleep a bit first. My last fire was literally two hours ago. We got back to the house right at the end of shift. It's why I took a shower here, rather than at the firehouse, because I wanted to leave right away. Well, that, and because people are starting to ask questions at the house, as to whether we're okay or not." Gabby sighed as she heard her husband say that, as that was the last thing she wanted people to ask. "Yeah, that's not good." Matt agreed with Gabby.
After which, he sat down and stretched a bit, while also yawning. After all, he was tired and just wanted to take it easy for a bit. "Listen, I know you want to catch up and want to spend time together. I want to do the same. I want to spend time with you but…" Gabby smiled, agreeing with Matt. "We can take a nap if you want. I want to hold you close to me anyways and just take it nice and easy with you." Matt smirked. "No sex in bed, yet. I just gave you some in the shower." Gabby laughed as she watched Matt slip into bed and get close to her. "Not even when I'm not wearing a bra?" Matt smirked as he got close to her and cuddled up to her, while also closing the covers on top of him and his beautiful wife. After which, he wrapped his arm around her and brought her body against his chest, while also placing his hand on the back of her head. Meanwhile, Gabby wrapped one of her arms around his back, while also placing her hand on his face. Leaning in, she smirked as she kissed the man of her dreams softly. "I missed you." Matt agreed.
After all, he missed her too. "I missed you too, and I hope that you're home for good." Gabby agreed, as she is home for good. "I promise, I'm home for good. I just want to figure things out with you and make sure that we find a way forward, which includes you forgiving me for leaving." Matt sighed. "We can talk when we wake up about that. Right now, I'm not in the mood to fight with you. I just got you back in my arms, and I'm not letting you go anytime soon." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she felt the same way about that. "I feel the same way. I don't want to lose you ever again." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, before leaning in and kissing his gorgeous wife softly. "Welcome home baby, I love you and I can't wait to figure things out in between us." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Promise me that we fight for us Matt?" Matt agreed with his wife, as that's precisely what he plans on doing. "Hey, always. I plan on fighting for you because I love you. Now, how about we get some sleep and then we can talk to each other?"
Gabby agreed with Matt as she pushed him onto his back. After which, she crawled onto his chest and smiled as she laid down on top of him so that she can get all comfortable with him, which is precisely what Matt wanted his gorgeous wife to do anyways. He wants her to cuddle up to him and just take it easy with him. And right now, that's precisely what Gabby plans on doing with the man of her dreams. She plans on holding him close as they take it easy with each other this morning while they take a nice nap with each other.
He ended up waking up before Gabby, which he was happy about due to the fact that he felt like he needed it; he needed to wake up before he to make sure that he wasn't dreaming right now. He wasn't dreaming over the fact that his wife is home and here with him, which is everything he wants right now. He wants Gabby to be home. He wants to hold her close to him, as they take it nice and easy with each other, which is precisely what the two of them are doing right now. They're holding each other close as they relaxed and concentrated on one another in bed. That was, until Gabby woke up and just smiled as she bent down and kissed her gorgeous husband's muscular chest. And let's just say that really made Matt smile due to the fact that it was the best feeling in the entire world. He just loves the fact that he and Gabby were awake and together now, due to the fact that it's precisely what he wants to be right now: awake and just holding his wife close to him. But first, he needs to make sure that he's not dreaming that she's here with him.
And he did that by running his hand up and down her back. "Am I dreaming, or do I have my gorgeous wife here with me on my chest?" Gabby laughed as Matt asked her whether he was dreaming, or whether she was really here with him on his chest; only for her to respond by telling him: "I'm here baby, I'm really here and you can take that as fact. And I just want to say that I'm so happy to be home and here with you, because I've missed you." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, before smiling as he ran his hand up and down her back, while also pressing his lips to her forehead. "How does it feel to be home and waking up in my arms?" Gabby smiled as she looked up at Matt. "Us being together and waking up in each other's arms after a nice nap is everything I want and more due to the fact that it's precisely what I need right now. I need to be with you, holding you close and just taking it easy with you as we figure out a way to work things out." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before kissing her forehead softly.
After which, he stared down into her eyes. "You already have breakfast?" Gabby shook her head, as she hasn't had breakfast yet. "I'd love it if me and my wonderful husband could share breakfast for the first time in a long-time, while we talk about what we need to do to fix things between us." Matt sighed, well aware that they need to figure that out. "Maybe I can take some time off." Gabby agreed with her husband, as she likes the sound of that; him taking some time off. "Honestly, I feel like that's something you've needed to do for a while. So, you already agreeing to do it makes me very happy and I hope you know that." Matt smirked, well aware that was the case. "You want me to come join you here and maybe we can talk? Talk about what you want to do when it comes to how we can fix things between us?" Gabby agreed with Matt. "Oh, I'll call Boden by the way. Tell him I want some time off." Gabby agreed with her husband. "I love the sound of that." Bending down, Matt smirked as he kissed Gabby softly. "And I love you." Gabby agreed.
After which, she kissed him one last time; prior to rolling off his chest so that he can get up. Meanwhile, Matt rolled over onto his side and smirked as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "What do you want for breakfast?" Gabby smirked as she placed her hand on the side of his face, while taking things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. "You." Matt laughed. "You just had me in the shower Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling as she grabbed the back of his head and just started to take things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. "I love you and I am so happy to be home." Matt agreed with his wife, as he feels the same well. "Well, I'm happy that you're home too. Now, how about I go make us some breakfast and we can talk about how we can fix things. What we can do to fix things between us, other than have a lot of conversations." Gabby agreed with her husband and smiled, as that's precisely what she wants to do: she wants to fix things between her and Matt.
So, she decided to tell him that. "I hope you know that I want to fix things between us more than anything baby." Matt agreed with his wife, well aware that was the case. "Hey, I already know that Gabby; that's something you don't have to worry about me not knowing." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as he kissed her again. "Listen, I'm going to go make breakfast. How about you stay here? Maybe you can get some pictures from Puerto Rico that you can show me?" Gabby was surprised. "Would you really want to see that?" Matt agreed. "Hey, of course I do. I want to see what I missed out in your life. I want to catch up, as I feel like I barely know you anymore." Gabby sighed as she looked at her husband as he said that. "Gabby, I'm sorry I feel that way." Gabby shook her head, as he had no reason to apologize. If he feels that way, then he has every right to feel that way. "Food, and we can talk. I promise." Matt agreed with his wife as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "And we will, I promise. I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt.
After all, she loves him too. "I love you too Matt. Forever." Matt smiled as he agreed with his girl, before getting up and going to make them some breakfast. "Stay there." Gabby nodded, agreeing with Matt as that's precisely what she plans on doing. She plans on staying right here, so that she can wait for him to make her some nice breakfast in bed, which is precisely what Matt went to do.
