Prologue

In the birth of The Hidden Villages, there was also the emergence of the many kingdoms. These domains were built separate from shinobi kind, and situated to be ruled by monarchy. Within the kingdoms live civilians, who are either untrained in the laws of chakra, or simply do not possess it. These kingdoms have built a sanctuary for these people and have systems very similar to ninja villages. Instead of a kage, who is a powerful shinobi, they have a monarch, whose bloodline decides the heir generation after generation. Their affairs in trade include allies of other kingdoms. The trade settlements of crops and other goods contribute to their wealth, diminishing them from ordinary villages that do not possess either kage or monarch. The kingdoms are noted to be noble countries, and many have ties to ninja villages.

"-Including our own very kingdom…Princess?"

With one arm resting on the desk, and the other positioned under her chin, the princess faced towards a window on the far side of the room, seeming to be lost in her own little world.

"Princess Adhaiya!" Called her tutor, frustrated at the princess's disinterest in her kingdom's history.

"Huh?" Adhaiya quickly turned her head to face her tutor.

"Did you listen to anything I just said?" The tutor gave her a stern look, but she isn't surprised at the princess's disassociation to anything related to the kingdom.

"I didn't have to listen, I already know." She dismayed her tutor, before quickly changing the subject. "Why don't we skip today's lesson, it's a nice day outside, why waste it here?"

"You know just as well as I do that our lessons can't be skipped."

"Then teach me something I don't know. I already know everything about this stupid kingdom."

Exhaling through her nose, the tutor knew she didn't have any material aside from the Light Kingdom's past that she could cover in today's lesson. Knowing Adhaiya, if she went on with what she prepared, it would pretty much be like the equivalent of her talking to a brick wall. She would rather not waste her breath in that case. Adhaiya was taught most of this since birth anyways. But his royal highness, the king of the Light Kingdom has recently urged for his eldest daughter to review her past education.

The tutor, refusing to give up the lesson, closed her eyes and delved into her memory of historical files for something that may spark the princess's interest. And was still educationally relevant to the tutoring session.

Adhaiya just watched her, debating whether she should just seize the opportunity to escape right now or forever hold her peace and give in to this mind-numbing session.

Opening one eye first, the tutor took notice of Adhaiya's skepticism for whatever she was to say next. Then with both eyes open the tutor smiled to herself in satisfaction. This made Adhaiya change her expression from skeptic to muddled. This new lesson the tutor recollected, had historical relevance, and would definitely keep Adhaiya engaged. For it was the story of the Starlight kingdom.

Hearing this, Adhaiya's eyes subtly widened in a newfound curiosity. She didn't speak, or give any other objection, indicating for the tutor to speak on.

The story of The Starlight Kingdom goes many generations back, even before The Five Great Nations were established. Before when there was just land and the people who lived on it. This land was peaceful and untouched by any kind of war. The soil was the most fertile that's ever been made use of. Fruits and vegetables grew to mature in short periods of time and to their full potential. Even plants that should be native to specific climates had no trouble at all blooming here. And surrounding this fertile ground was a plethora of gemstones, all buried deep beneath the surface, along with precious metals such as gold. This much wealth was unheard of, making the land truly a treasure. Although there was one more thing about this specific area that made it so special. It was a star.

A star that came out in the night sky, it was fervently ethereal. It glowed with such radiance, that it left a trance on anyone who gazed for too long. Unlike any other it shone the brightest, and became the most noticed, beaming its magical light directly atop the area of land.

Many believed the star was a celestial being which graced this plot of land on the Earth with many blessings.

However, there weren't many people who lived there, in fact it was just one family. They lived isolated from other smaller communities of villages. This family instantly took advantage of the land's profitability, and harbored it to its complete capabilities. They grew their crops, and mined the jewels. They claimed the land as theirs, and began constructing a village there. They gained much attention from the neighboring villages, and invited them in to share their riches. The founding family then became the heads of the ever growing town. The star had become a significant marking for the people who lived under it.

So when the small village grew to become a country, it was reconstructed into a kingdom. They used their wealth to build a castle, and other advanced architecture to distinguish it from other countries. It was then dubbed the Starlight Kingdom, to honor the Star and its blissful grace to the land.

Many fruitful seasons had passed for the Starlight Kingdom as they expanded their territory. Each year a full field of bountiful harvest was assured, and minimal conflict rose within the community. The people truly believed that their lives had been set for many more years to come.

Unfortunately they deemed their prosperity to last too soon.

On a night unpeculiar, the most peculiar thing had occurred. The night sky was shimmering with tiny dots of light, however the brightest star was nowhere to be gazed upon. It seemed to have simply vanished. The one thing that had given rise to the Starlight Kingdom had sunk from existence. The sudden disappearance did not cause any major turbulence in the Kingdom, at least not right away. The people simply accepted the fact that there was no longer a pinpoint of a star above them. It changed nothing, and they continued in their lives per usual, with the addition of conspiracies of an explanation to this celestial event.

Some said the star lost its light, others said it fell to the Earth. Conspiracies eventually led to theories of what this could mean in the aftermath. Few people worried it may have a possible effect on the affluence of their grounds. Although, after many months, there wasn't any noticeable change in the agricultural aspect, so they didn't bother arranging for a failsafe solution to their farming. Many more months passed, and now there had been a change in the quantity and quality of the crops. There was indeed a decline in both. This arose agitation within the Kingdom, as they feared for their forthcoming downfall. Without the star it was evident that the land was no longer the same. By the time the second year without the star had begun, the surge of loss in the crops was irrefutable and had to be addressed as soon as possible.

The King and his council were in shambles for any possible way to prevent further damage. In the meanwhile the subjects were demanding answers, and beginning revolutions. The only source of food they relied on was from within the kingdom, as they had no trade systems in this period of time. It was too risky to establish one now as well because of their current weakened state.

Then arose one man with a solution. He believed the star had fallen to the Earth, away from the kingdom. He proposed a search to find the star and retrieve it, since it was obvious without it their country would not thrive for long. Many others joined with him to form a team. The man however had intentions uncooperative to the king. He never truly accepted their leader, and hid his power-hungry nature. So he never formally requested the king's permission or support. Instead he deceived his comrades by convincing them that the king had abandoned them and that they needed to set out now to find the star and relocate to where it is.

They had left without trace during the night, with only a few ears knowing of their quest.

Within the next few months they had succeeded in their search. In a land not too far from the Starlight Kingdom, the team had found unlevelled ground. With massive rings of uprooted dirt in the clearing. In the very center was an abnormally large gray rock. It had not done any major damage to the terrain, in fact it opened up a clearing, large enough for a new village. Perhaps even a new kingdom. The soil was just as rich as it had been when the star was still over the Starlight Kingdom.

The man was overjoyed, his theory had been correct. So without wasting any time he immediately began work. The men that had accompanied him praised his leadership and collaborated in creating a new home. They had lured many of their families and relatives from the Starlight Kingdom to come and start anew, this time with a guarantee of fertility. This brought more and more attention to them and they started building from the ground up, surrounding the star.

The King of the Starlight kingdom had been brought up to notice of this new expanding village, yet they did nothing to acknowledge it. By this time the Light King and his remaining subjects had begun negotiations with neighboring lands, as now was the era of Shinobi villages. In exchange for food they would trade in their jewels, gems and other minerals to create a treaty. This new route of alliance allowed the Starlight kingdom to thrive once more.

In the meantime, the new village had also begun rising at increasing speed into a new kingdom, with the power-hungry man as their king. They refused to contact the Starlight Kingdom, instead they mocked it. A kingdom named after a star that is no longer in their possession was a humiliating situation indeed, and reliance on other kingdoms was just as shameful. As the king of this new country believed their independence meant superiority. And they titled themselves the Star Kingdom…

"Does that mean.." Adhaiya trailed off, connecting the imaginary dots in her head.

"It does indeed."

"The Starlight Kingdom was renamed to The Light Kingdom."

Author's Note

This was kinda short, but dw guys I plan on making the actual chapters longer, unless ya'll prefer short chapters. Anyways I just want to say a few things before moving on with the story. Don't panic, it's a Kakashi x OC story, but I'm planning on introducing Kakashi in chapter 2. I want to quickly build up my character and her motives and etc. If anyone is curious to what she looks like, I will make a description later on, but don't take it to heart cause it's just for storytelling purposes. If you guys wanna imagine her differently then that's up to you, I sorta was just inspired by some fanart I saw on pinterest. My idea is sort of based on Kanzzzaki, from deviantart, who has made multiple fanarts of a character from a russian Kakashi fanfic. I couldn't get into it cause google translated vers rlly sucks (the story itself is good, recommended if you can read russian so you don't need a terribly translated version).

Chapter updates will be SLOW and irregular. I'm sorry to anyone reading and likes binging. I have terrible time management and only write if I have motivation lol. Next chapter may drop in a month idk. I'm still working on it, it's unfinished, and I just wanted to get this out before I give up.

I plan on posting this on my ao3 account + wattpad (will be adding those to my profile)

Also I may change title and image, I just did whatever for it.

Hope this was interesting enough to keep some readers returning. See ya'll in the next one!
