'Thought'

"U-Um… Are you sure Baldur?"

"Come on, don't hold back, show me what you got~"

In a random park area, a group of kids, all looking different in terms of physical and non-physical attributes, surrounded a young boy, who seemed to be the same age as the others, around 5 or 6, and in comparison looked to be the normal one out of the bunch; the only difference being his body being covered in tattoos. This young lad was known as Baldur, and he was in the middle of challenging the children around him.

"O-Ok then, here we go!"

And that certain something involved all the children in the park suddenly going ham on Baldur, using all of their unique abilities at full power against him, whether they involve the elements, psychological, unnatural, abnormalities, or even raw physicality; everything, absolutely everything, and yet, despite using almost everything, it did absolutely nothing to the young lad. Sure, some blood was spilled, and some cuts were made, probably a few broken bones here and there, but not only did he not feel any of this, but all his minor injuries were almost instantly healed as if they had never occurred in the first place.

"Hah! Is that all? I barely even noticed you were attacking me~"

Baldur couldn't help but laugh proudly and arrogantly as he stood completely unharmed, despite all the kids' power being thrown at him; they all just panted and sweated from exhaustion after using their abilities on him.

"Kids! It's time to go home!"

However, before any more could be said or done, all the parents of the super-powered children started to call out for them and pick them up, which made them all start saying their goodbyes to one another, including to Baldur, who continued to act like he was amazing and was feeling high on his own literal "invincibility," however, as he was about to move on to brag and show off how awesome he was, he suddenly heard something that instantly, well, it just made him realize how truly invincible he really was.

"Can I have a hug Mama, I always like it how warm they feel~"

When Baldur heard and saw this, he couldn't help but lose all his ego about his powerful self, as he then looked down at himself and went eyes wide in realization.

"How warm they feel?..."

Baldur then grabbed his own hand and started to violently twist and break it, shattering all the bones and basically squeezing out all the blood and muscle from his hand; however, this did nothing for him, actually, instead of causing pain, it only made him look on in wide-eyed horror.

"Feel…"

Baldur quickly began to panic once he realized that he couldn't feel anything, which was completely unacceptable and something that he desperately wanted to deny. As a result, he did absolutely everything that he could to prove that fact wrong, ranging from simple things, like touching and eating freezing ice cream or burning his hands on hot noodles, to very extreme ideas, like drowning himself in a nearby pond, letting himself get hit by a large truck, and even fighting and being purposefully beaten by a random Pro Hero or Villain; he did everything that he could think of, just to experience something, feel anything.

"Son, you came home later than usual, were you having to much fun out there?"

All of this trial and error led the young lad home, which was a large tree in the middle of a vast forest-like jungle, completely isolated from human civilization. He just simply stood before the person who must be his mother, who was none other than Freya herself, who was currently talking to her son while using magic to cook dinner.

"... Can I have a hug, Mother?..."

Instead of answering her questions, Baldur, after a few moments of hesitant silence, suddenly looked up and reached out for his mother, making his request to hug her.

"Aww, of course you can Son, you can have as many hugs as you want from me~"

Freya warmly smiled as she knelt down before him and gently pulled her Son into a tight yet gentle embrace; one he just took in and seemed not to be intending to return the hug he was receiving.

"... Why?..."

After a few moments of being hugged, Baldur once again spoke up, catching his mother's attention.

"Why what, So-?"

Freya was immediately interrupted by her son, who suddenly shoved her off and pushed her to the ground, much to her shock and surprise.

"WHY DID YOU TAKE EVERYTHING FROM ME?!"

Baldur, a small child who was supposed to be pure and innocent, was now filled with pure rage and hate, causing his mother's eyes to widen in shock at what she was witnessing.

"W-What are you talking abo-"

"I Can't Feel ANYTHING!"

Baldur silenced Freya with his own anguished cries and tears.

"I Can't Feel Gentle Breeze From The Wind! I Can't Taste The Simple Meals Offered To Me! I CAN'T EVEN FEEL THE WARMTH OF YOUR MOTHERLY HUGS!!!"

The burning fire deep within Baldur continued to grow brighter and brighter, which his mother obviously noticed and tried her best to calm him.

"B-But it means you won't feel pain and death-"

"I WANT TO FEEL PAIN! I WANT TO FEEL DEATH! I WANT TO EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING THAT THE MORTALS CAN!!!"

Freya's excuses were only met with more of Baldur's raging yells, though his yells quickly turned into sobbing, as he fell to his knees and let the tears fall from his eyes.

"All of those wonderful experiences are now gone… You took everything from me…"

Despite all that Baldur had said and done to his mother, she still took this moment to hold him close to her and try to comfort him.

"I-I only wanted what was best for you…"

However, Freya's attempts were met with rejection, as her son gently removed himself from her body, stood back up to his feet, and simply glared at her with sad, angry eyes.

"No… You only wanted what was best for yourself …"

Baldur turned away and started to walk off, leaving his mother in stunned silence after hearing what he just said to her.

"I'm going to my chambers, don't you dare call for me…"

As soon as Baldur was completely out of sight, Freya was able to let the tears fall down her cheeks, as she was finally able to process that her Son, the only person she would ever love and care for, did not return the same affection towards her, which definitely broke her heart from this realization.

'I-It was for the best, it was for the best for him… W-Wasn't it?...'

I'm thinking against the idea of Freya saving Eri, at least not right now, because it would be a mistake to make a very unstable Baldur feel jealous, especially at this point of time, but that's my opinion, what do you think?

(Small Spoiler: There is only one character in MHA that could possibly hurt and even kill Baldir, can you guess who that is?~)
