"That's what she said. Nobody was left alive except for her and her mate."
Suddenly, everyone's voices rise quickly, asking questions, yelling upset and obscene things toward the front.
"SILENCE!" Sam's alpha tone quickly quietens down the room. "Now, for us to be as strong as we can be for this coming battle, we must prepare. Starting with the changing of the leadership. Tonight, we will have a bonfire. Here, Jacob and I will fight for the right to become Alpha. Then, beginning tomorrow, we will begin training so that we will know how to fight together as a unit."
"That's another thing," Bella interjects quickly, "Apparently, Alice's mate, Jasper, has experience with Newborn armies. They are willing to teach us how to fight and be effective. They are going to be in the clearing tomorrow afternoon. If we want to be as prepared as possible, I would recommend going, however, as the current Alpha, Sam, I defer the ultimate decision to you."
"Thank you Bella. As Alpha, even if for only a few more hours, I would agree that it would be a good idea for us to take part of this training. It will also be good information for us to have and put in the histories for future packs. So, I will do this a bit different than usual. Jake? What do you say?"
"I say, yes. Let us join the training session."
"Ok, then..." with his Alpha tone now fully in effect, "every wolf will meet here tomorrow in time to run to the clearing for the training session." Every wolf then bows their head in submission. Even though Bella is not a part of the pack yet, she feels the weight of the tone and out of respect, she looks at Jacob and together, they submit to Sam for one last time."

Sorry for the short chapters lately. I am trying to get this story written out, but sometimes it seems like there are natural breaks and cliff hangers that pushing on just for the sake of a longer chapter... seems useless and frankly, frustrating. Anyway, I hope you are enjoying all of these updates and where this story is going. All of your comments are giving me LIFE!
Also, to all who have commented about my personal life that I briefly discussed in my Author's Notes before the unexpected hiatus(es), I appreciate all of your support! Now, for a little bit of an update... I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with a little girl! I am so excited! Also, I am hoping to have this story finished by the time she is born, so I will do my best to get it all finalized for you!
