Edward

"After a few months of isolation and gorging myself on jaguars and wolves in Rio, I finally decided to make a trip back to see my family. However, imagine my abrupt and strange surprise to not only find no one here, but the scents faded enough to tell me that no one has been here for at least a couple weeks, maybe even a month!" Although my volume remains steady, I can't help the slight growl that pours out with my words, "Where. The. Hell. Are. You!?"

"Edward, don't freak out."

"Alice, you telling me to not freak out... is doing quite the opposite! Where are you?"

"I had a vision... and because the wolves were involved, I couldn't see the outcome... so the family and I came back to warn them and make sure she's okay."

"You went back to Forks!? What could possibly possess you to do that!? I removed all of us from her life for a reason! She needs to live a normal life. She needs to heal and move on."

"Well, she clearly took you to heart on that! She's shacked up with one of the wolves now."

"One of the..." I run my hand over my face, "Which wolf?"

"Jacob"

"Of course. Jacob fucking Black. Alice, do you remember who the chief and alpha was when we were there before? "

"Not particularly, no."

"Ephraim Black. Jacob's grandfather. Which means, all of the pain and grief I just went through was fucking useless! She just put herself deeper. I could have offered her eternity, no sickness or pain... but I left so she could have a normal life... and she just goes and gets in bed with a damn wolf."

"Edward, there's more..."

"Alice, tell me when I get there. I am coming to win her back. If she is bound and determined to be apart of this life, then it will be my life that she is a part of."

"Edward, no..."

"See you soon."

Alice

I can't help but stare at the phone in my hand, "Shit... Shit shit shit shit!" Instantly, Jasper and Esme are right next to me.

"Alice," Esme's soft voice breaks through, "What's going on?"

"Edward. He decided to leave Rio and visit us... but obviously we weren't home, so he called and asked where we are... I didn't even get a chance to fully explain... But I'm afraid he is on his way here."

"And when will he be here?"

A brief search of my visions, and I continue, "He will be here by noon tomorrow."

"We better warn Bella and the Pack," Emmett says almost bitterly, "though after that scene yesterday, I almost just want to let him show up and watch the chaos. No one touches my girl and gets away with it. Not even a half-human, wolf, whatever-the-hell-she-is abomination."
