In the Mawtiyima forest under the canopy's of the giant "Trees" the like of which could only be found in Sumeru, there was a brief pause of normalcy and then a flash of light so bright that it illuminated the entire forest floor for just a moment, as the leylines under the forest were artificially redirected by a force unknown to Teyvat this force gathered the leylines pooling and merging them together to gather enough elemental energy for the birth of a new Vishap.

It is quite hard to describe how it felt to wake up in, what is judging by the foliage around me clearly another world, while also in a very different body then what I had like 5 seconds ago and just for added pleasure, a massive 'I've been up for two days straight cramming for a test' headache however, if I had to sum it up in a sentence I would say it went along this line

With some added screaming and a brief lapse in consciousness for good measure.
After I regained consciousness for the second time I managed to calm down a bit… well not really, But I was calm enough to notice the words in my head and the deep longing for, something, a person?

It is a mainstay for all dragons even baby ones like yourself to be obsessed with something for most dragons it is strength for some like the sovereigns it was their element and as for you due to your wish for a companion who would always be with Furina we have made yours Furina herself.

Do not worry our CEO is not nota creep so he made it that your obsession is less obsession and more a want to be close with Furina. depending on you, this can manifest as a relationship of some kind or just a desire to be the same city.
Increased growth
As a gift for surviving and an apology for your lackluster system you have been blessed with an innately stronger connection to the leylines. In other words it will be much easier and faster for you to grow than other Vishap
Warning stronger connection to leylines means that you will also be affected by them more as well which will effect your path as a dragon. Please keep that in mind or don't, this is your new life after all!

After reading my "Status" I was speechless, not just because of the implication that I was plucked and dropped into a fictional world made real through human imagination, Or because I was now a Dendro Vishap which meant the loss of my arms and legs as I now looked like a much smaller much less majestic version of Apep (although apparently my birth place made it so I had a lot of really nice bioluminescent leaf growths on me), nor was it my sudden name change No, what bothered me the most was that apparently isekai adventures were being corporatized, and I wasn't even unwillingly plucked into a fully realized power fantasy system, instead I was apparently used as a test run, a test run that by the description of one of my "traits" I wasn't even guaranteed to survive.
I heaved a deep sigh, or I tried to at least; my new serpentine body apparently did not allow for such a thing. Either way I should probably get my act together and assess my situation the world of genshin impact was an incredibly dangerous one and even though the cataclysm was apparently just over the aftereffects were likely still strong, and I really did not want to encounter those irritating shield ignoring wolves as I wasn't sure if the bleed effect would go away naturally when it wasn't a game….
Or… I thought, as a deep weariness settled within me, I guess I could make my draconic predecessors proud by taking a nap for a bit… yea that sounds nice………………...

The entity watched the sleeping overgrown snakeVishap and was amused, he had his underlings take care of most of the tutorial and descriptions and was quite pleased with it, however he would need to have a talk with whoever wrote that Not Not business, after all at his level Creep really didn't apply anymore. Either way the entity brought his attention back to his unwilling test subject and made notes
" trasmigration process taxes the lifeforce of the subject quite a bit causing the transmigrated to take a long nap, while this is no issue for dragons indeed, some may call it their pastime for others however this is a large problem, for the future I need to make the process more efficient or figure out a way to rejuvenate the…"
The entity paused in his notes as he witnessed something interesting happening, when he gave Lathesh an increased connection to the leylines he wasn't fully aware of what it would do besides increasing his growth rate and making mutations more likely, something the Vishap had already experienced with his bioluminescence what was intriguing was that this increased connection went both ways as the leylines beneath the forest which had been previously taxed during the birth of Lathesh were in a constantly reinforcing power cycle with the dragon causing both to strengthen much more rapidly, as the energy was increasing with every back and forth.
The Entity fascinated watched this process for several years as Lathesh slept off what happened to him growing rapidly from the size of a small cow to that of your average non Sumeran tree. The forest also benefited due to the power cycling between Lathesh and the leylines as the forest was also getting stronger and more filled with life the bioluminescence of the giant fungus tree things in particular became a stunning sight.
The entity watched for a few more years before eventually losing interest and paying attention to other things.

I awoke, and could only snort in amusement as Protip apparently when one is a dragon even a baby one, sleeping is a great way to solve your issues. I felt far calmer and more at ease with myself than I had before, even with the surprise of my massively increased size (length wise) I was somehow able to move my body far better than I had before I took my nap, and I could even feel my element the element of life around me, although from my experimental grasping I could tell I had far to go before I could even call my Dendro manipulation on par of that of an inexperienced vision holder…………

The bone deep gnawing was still there, I have been trying to ignore it the obsession the Want, but it was always there just in the background even while I was asleep my dreams were all marked by emptiness….
I liked Furina yes, I had found her story both beautiful and heart wrenching, but she wasn't the only one with a sad story nor was she the only character that I liked. I mean For the sovereigns sake Sumeru city was not to far away from Mawtiyima forest and Nahida alone, trapped within it… but that didn't matter
I was nowhere near powerful enough to break Nahida out easily, after all even with my accelerated growth was likely less dangerous than a Mitachurl and besides….

Furina should have been born by now and unlike Nahida, Furina was only human, and also unlike Nahida I did not need to be powerful to help her I just had to be there.

Afterwards For several months I trained bit by bit. I split my time between practicing on poor fungi and trying my best to sense and control my elemental power. Unfortunately while I managed to obtain full control of my serpentine body and get fairly proficient at blasting mushrooms, I was unable to really get control of my Dendro element while I could certainly do a few cool tricks with it, it was nothing compared to people like Nahida or even Tighnari more importantly I wasn't able to figure how to take on a humanoid form, something that would be critical if I wanted to interact meaningfully with others.
However regardless of my progress I couldn't put my journey on hold any longer, if I wanted a chance at really helping Furina I would have to start near the beginning of her reign as archon well relatively speaking at least, as far as I could tell Furina had likely started her act a few years back…
Yes, by all likelihood she has already lived several years. Several years living a lie with no one to turn too…
The ever present emptiness within my heart that had been within me ever since I woke up in this world made itself known once more and my resolve was strengthened. it was time, Time to leave my birth place and head west through the forests and the desert too and eventually hopefully the court of Fontaine and Furina with it.
AN: so more things revealed in this chapter, and before anyone asks no I will not be making this a litrpg. The reason why Reborn is in hiatus is because I just cannot at the moment write those. Lathesh's "Status" will only ever show his name, age, species, and two traits that is all.
Now I know some may have questions about the draconic obsession because that as far as I'm aware is sure not something in the game. The reason for this is two fold. One: I needed a reason for the MC to keep his focus on Furina even after multiple years, and Two: LORE! Reasons in short it the reason lies with how dimensions work in this story.
Potential Spoilers. You have been warned
So in this story the Genshin Impact universe is a thought dimension which is a word for a dimension that is artificially created by humans through their thoughts. Basically when something gets really popular be it a piece of fiction or even an idea a thought dimension is created. Thought dimensions are inherently unstable especially dimensions that were based off of vague concepts or fiction. As an example Alice in wonderland is a thought dimension in this story however due to how vague and nonsensical the story and setting is the thought dimension is incredibly unstable and prone to collapsing killing all within. On the other hand the Lord of the rings universe is an incredibly stable thought dimension due too just how much work Tolkien put into building the world. There are a few more rules that will never come up in this story but basically a thought dimension is stable if it has three of these four requirements
1. The fiction or concept is Well known and popular, enduring through the years
2. The fiction or concept is well thought out with an internally consistent world
3. The fiction or concept is not to out there ie the crazier the idea or the funkier the world the more inherently unstable it is. (Alice in wonderland fails this requirement)
4. Lastly the fiction or concept is no longer being changed (this is more of a gradient for example Alice in wonderland went through a reboot semi recently but because the reboot was just treading old ground and was not really all out there/did not change too much the dimension was able to survive.)
There is another way to make a dimension stable which is bringing people from already stable and established dimensions over, the more powerful the individuals the less needed, this is one of the reasons why the entity and his brethren created their own isekai systems as it gave the very real people in these thought dimensions a chance at living while also providing entertainment to quite a lot of people.. that and it acts as an act of charity, so in other words it gives them a tax cut.
