Outside Gabriel's House...
The heroes had finally made it. Everything looked so quiet around here. Like there wasn't a way in or out of the house. It felt abandoned.
Cat Noir looked around as if he'd hadn't been here in ages. His eyes drifted up to a window he had never noticed looked a lot like a butterfly.
"HawkMoth..." Cat Noir growled under his breath.
Ladybug held his hand to snap him out of it even if it was just a for second. He looked back at her and felt a sense of relief. He was so glad to have her by his side for this mission. And all of these other amazing heroes. He couldn't have asked for better friends.
"Thank you, Ladybug," Cat Noir whispered to her.
She smiled back at him, and they looked back at Eraser Head.
They were standing outside the entrance. There was a giant, fancy gate that stopped anyone from entering.
"Cat Noir, can you use your Cataclysm on the gate?" Eraser Head asked him.
"Uh, sure, but I'm gonna have to recharge some time after that," Cat Noir told him, "I'd need someone to stay behind with me."
"I'll do it," Jirou said, "My quirk can hear vibrations and sounds, so I'd be able to tell you when someone's coming."
"Okay, thank you," Cat Noir said as she joined him.
"Cataclysm!"
As soon as it went off, he touched the gate, and it disintegrated into a pile of ash.
Eraser Head shook off the first time he came across a quirk like that, and they all went on ahead. Eraser Head stopped them by the door and directed everyone.
"Cat Noir and Jirou, you two go inside. Find a place to hide so Cat Noir can charge up. Also, look around for any clues. Jirou, see if you can find any hidden doors. Uraraka, Bakugo and Ashido, you three go up to the roof and find a way through there so we can ambush him if we need to. Sato, Vesperia and I will go inside with the first team, but split up to look for the lair. Vesperia, I'm going to need you close to me since my quirk won't work on him. Kirishima, Iida and Aoyama, you three do a look around the building to see if you find anything suspicious. And Rena Rouge, Todoroki and Ladybug, look for any signs of Midoriya. If anyone sees anything suspicious, please contact me through these..."
Eraser Head pulled out a bunch of earbuds to connect everyone so they could communicate with one another.
Once everyone got them set up, Eraser Head nodded, giving everyone the go ahead.
Uraraka, Bakugo and Ashido took off towards the roof of the building. Uraraka held Ashido to float her up while Bakugo used his explosions to propel himself up through the air.
Kirishima, Iida and Aoyama inconspicuously took off in the opposite direction to look for any clues or other entrances around the building.
The rest stayed with Eraser Head until he slowly opened the door. It barely creaked. Once it was open, he let Cat Noir and Jirou go on ahead to look for a place to recharge. Ladybug, Todoroki and Rena Rouge went towards the back of the building to look for any signs of Midoriya.
With everything in motion, Eraser Head finally took Sato and Vesperia went for the first door on the left.
With Cat Noir and Jirou...
"Come on, we'll just head up to my room," Cat Noir directed her.
"Yo-Your room?" Jirou said, trying to stay serious about the mission.
This was the first time Jirou had really gotten this close to Cat Noir. This was the first mission, and of course they were going up to his room. Although, the more she thought about it, the more it must've been weird for him. Considering this was his house that they were infiltrating, he didn't seem to be bothered by it.
He kept a serious face as they made their way into his room. Jirou made sure that there wasn't anyone in his room before they went in. She put an earphone jack against the door...
"Nothing..." Jirou thought.
"There's no one in here," Jirou told him quietly, "Let's go in."
Cat Noir went in first, the door creaking very subtly. Jirou noticed the size of his house, but she didn't think his room would be as big as it was. She wanted to focus on the mission, but her eyes were drawn to his fuse ball table, his TV, his music and dvds, his basket ball hoop, his computer.
And his piano.
"You play piano?" Jirou asked him, "I didn't know you played."
She placed her hand on top of it, really excited to see an authentic, black piano.
"Yeah... My mother loved to play the piano," Cat Noir told her, "We use to play it all the time. But after she disappeared, my father forced me to take piano lessons, and then..."
Jirou had a feeling he knew what he was about to say.
"You stopped caring?" Jirou said.
"Yeah..."
Jirou let go of the piano and went back to work as soon as his ring started beeping.
"Alright, I'll be on lookout and see if anyone's coming this way while you recharge," Jirou told him as she ran over to the door.
"Plagg, Claws In."
Adrien gave Plagg a piece of cheese that was still in his desk full of it. But then he came across something that he had totally forgotten about.
The monocle device.
The device that gave him answers to his father's whereabouts.
Adrien picked it up and wondered something.
"If Felix found out that my father is Monarch... then what else did he find?"
With Uraraka, Bakugo and Ashido...
Uraraka had successfully floated both her and Ashido up to the roof and placed her on down softly. Bakugo on the other hand, was not so stealthy.
"Alright, where's that Butterfly Bastard?!" Bakugo yelled.
"Shh! Bakugo, not so loud," Ashido told him, trying to be quiet, "This is a mission. We can't let him know we're coming."
"Besides, can't you be a little more sensitive? This is Cat Noir's father we're talking about," Uraraka asked him.
"I'm sorry, did you see that Scaredy-Cat anywhere? No, so it's not my problem," Bakugo growled.
Ashido and Uraraka were at least glad he stopped yelling.
"Alright, we gotta look for an opening somewhere. He definitely has to be hiding Deku around here somewhere," Uraraka told them as they searched around the rooftop.
"Considering his window looks like a damn butterfly, I'm surprised no one figured it out by now," Bakugo told them, "Especially--"
Uraraka sent him a piercing glare that actually surprised him. He bit his lip and continued the search. As they walked around the roof, there wasn't much to look for.
No doors and no vents to crawl through.
Uraraka made sure Ashido and Bakugo wouldn't melt or explode their way through. Ashido whined while Bakugo just growled at her.
Then they made their way towards the butterfly shaped window. The one window that stood out the most to them.
"This is definitely the most suspicious thing here by far," Ashido told them.
All three of them peeked into the window...
With Kirishima, Iida and Aoyama...
As soon as the mission started, they slowly made their way around the building. They all looked for any clues or doors that might lead them to Monarch's lair.
And possibly save Midoriya.
Iida wanted to run around the entire building as quickly as he could and get back to his friends. But he understood that it'd be easier to find it at a slower pace. He looked over at Aoyama and Kirishima to see if they found anything.
"Kirishima, anything?" Iida asked him as felt the wall.
"Nothing," Kirishima told him, "Aoyama, anything on your end?"
Aoyama didn't respond. He tried looking for any clues, but Iida could tell he just wasn't in the mission entirely.
He was worried about his friend.
"Aoyama, is everything okay?" Iida asked him.
"Ye-Yeah... I'm just a little nervous about facing this Monrach guy," Aoyama told him, a little shaky.
Iida didn't like seeing his friends so upset, especially when he could do something to help them.
"You know, Midoriya's counting on you as well. He sees you as a really good friend, right? Then, he's going to want his friends to be there when he needs us."
Aoyama shook it off and started looking around for anything that stood out to him.
"Tha-Thank you, Iida," Aoyama told him, "You're a good friend to Midoriya, too oui."
Iida smiled as Kirishima went around the corner to the back of the building.
"Um, guys. I think I found something," Kirishima told them.
They made their way over to him and found a small, basement window that looked like it hadn't been used in years...
With Rena Rouge, Todoroki and Ladybug...
Once the mission started, Ladybug made sure they split up so they could cover more ground. She followed behind Cat Noir and Jirou until they went into his room to recharge. So they headed over to another room. The moment they entered it, Ladybug knew right away whose room it was.
Gabriel's room.
It looked like it was part bedroom, part museum. It was full of stuff you'd only see in an Indiana Jones movie.
Ladybug had no idea Gabriel had stuff like this. She's been to Adrien's house before, but not his father's room. Ladybug didn't think they'd find Midoriya in here. Since they were here though, they might as well check it out. All three of them had to be careful in here.
"Rena Rouge, cover for us while we search the room," Ladybug told her.
"You've got it," Rena Rouge said as she ran over to the door.
"So, what're we looking for?" Todoroki asked Ladybug, "I don't think we're going to find Midoriya in here."
"Yes, but that doesn't mean we can't find something useful in here."
Todoroki and Ladybug started searching. Ladybug dug through his desk while Todoroki looked at the stuff he had displayed in his room.
He was surprised to see this guy's face. He didn't look like someone that would capture Midoriya and try to steal Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous. Although, he definitely felt weird thinking such things when his father is now the number one hero.
"Todoroki, are you okay?" Ladybug asked him.
Todoroki didn't even realize she had stopped searching. He looked back at the picture of Gabriel, Natalie and... Adrien's mother.
"Th-That's his mother..."
Ladybug was caught off guard and smiled. She'd never met Adrien's mother before, but she could tell that she really cared for Adrien. If she was anything like his son, then she's definitely a good mother.
"Yeah... Adrien really misses her..." Ladybug told him solemnly, "Come on, maybe we can find something about her."
As Ladybug dug through the desk, all she found were old documents from the different places he, Natalie and Emilie explored. But nothing that stood out to her.
Then, she looked up to notice a picture frame was a little crooked. She went to fix it, but it swung open to reveal...
A safe.
With Eraser Head, Vesperia and Sato...
The mission was a go. Everyone did as they were instructed, and Eraser Head couldn't be more prouder of his students stepping up.
With everything taken care of, Eraser Head headed for the first door he saw. He led his team to the door and creaked it open ever so slightly. Luckily, there was no creak this time around. Then, he looked inside before letting anyone in.
It was Gabriel's office.
"The cost is clear," Eraser Head told them.
They filed in while Vesperia stayed by his side.
It had a black and white marble floor, with a very high ceiling. His computer had no chair, just a screen for his work as a fashion designer. There was a desk on the other side of the room for his assistant, Natalie.
The one thing that stood out the most to them was a huge piece of artwork that looked possibly like...
Adrien's mother.
"Wow, this is quite the office," Sato said as they spread to cover more ground.
"Yeah, definitely not my style though," Vesperia said and then to Eraser Head, "What should we look for?"
"Anything that might lead to his lair. And by the looks of it, this could very well be the room," Eraser Head told them, "Keep your communicators on in case anyone contacts us."
"Right."
Vesperia looked around the picture frame while Eraser Head looked through the computer for anything that might help. Sato looked through Natalie's desk to see if there was anything useful.
Nothing.
If anything, it just looked like a fancy, fashion designer's office.
Vesperia noticed something about the painting. It wasn't connected to the wall all of the way. It was so big, she wondered if there might've been a door behind it. She tried to swing it off the wall and it wouldn't budge.
"Eraser Head, I think there might be--"
"Eraser Head... Come in... Eraser Head..."
It was Jirou's voice.
"I hear you, Jirou," Eraser Head as the three of them listened in, "Did you find something?"
"Sir... It's not good... Cat Noir... We found something..."
Another really good chapter!
The mission has finally started! Everyone is splitting up into different groups to cover more ground. And it looks like Jirou has found something already!
This chapter was really fun to write!
More coming soon!
