It's been hours now since the Parkers have been on the road, and they sit in almost complete silence. The only sounds that accompany many of them are the sounds of the moving truck engine or the occasional car that passes by, and for the young Peter Parker, it is torture. and as they stop at a red light, Peter turns his head to Aunt May. Hey, Aunt May," his aunt says, turning her head to her nephew. "What's up, kiddo?" she asks. Can I please turn on the radio?" Aunt May then looks back onto the road and responds, "Sure, just don't turn up the volume too high." "Thanks, Aunt May." Peter smiles a bit and is happy to finally listen to something other than the sounds of the engine of the moving truck.
Peter then reaches for the little knob to turn on the radio, and as he turns it, he hears nothing, so he then turns the knob for the volume, yet again hearing nothing to his dismay. "Dang it," Peter says as he slumps back into his seat. "Is it busted?" Aunt May's questions "Yep," Peter states clearly, annoyed. Aunt May thinks to herself for a minute, and then she makes a suggestion: "Check the glove box; there might be some CDs in there." Peter lights up a little, opens the glove box, and sees a whole bunch of CDs. "Whoa, there are a lot of them in here," Peter states in awe.
"What do we have in there, kiddo?" Peter looks through the CDs and says, "We got David Bowie, ACDC, Elton John, Black Sabbath, and Bon Jovi." Aunt May smiles a bit and says, "That takes me back to when I was a kid." Peter chuckles and looks at the last one. "Huh, I've never heard of this guy," he states, a bit confused. "What does it say, kiddo?" Aunt May says this as she keeps her eyes on the road. Peter then reads off of the CD case, "Mr. Universe's Space Train to the Cosmos."
Aunt May's jaw drops, and she whips her head to her nephew, who holds the CD case in his hands, and says with a big smile that spreads ear to ear, "Really?" Peter looks a bit shocked at his aunt's reaction. "Uh yeah," he says as he holds the CD case up so that she can see it. Aunt May's smile somehow becomes wider, and she says with utter glee in her voice, "Me and your uncle went to one of his concerts when we were on our honeymoon in Ocean Town." Peter looks amused and responds with a smirk, "Really?" As the light turns green, Aunt May looks back at the road with a big smile. Yeah, even though there was barely anyone there, we still loved it, and we bought that album and listened to it for years."
"Aww, that's nice," Peter says with a smile as he looks back to the road and then turns his head back to his aunt. "How come I'm only hearing about this now?" Aunt May's smile drops a little as she begins to explain. "Well, when you were really little, we had to sell off some stuff, and well, that was one of the things we sold." Peter nods his head in understanding and says, "Ah, that makes sense." Peter and his aunt sit in silence for a minute, and then Peter breaks it by saying, "So you want me to put it on first?" And as soon as he says this, Aunt May responds, "Yes, please." Peter chuckles a bit as he opens the CD case and puts the CD in.
As Peter puts in the CD, he starts to hear an electric guitar playing, and he sees Aunt May's mouth curling into a big smile that goes ear to ear. After a few seconds, he hears a man singing.
"I know I'm not that tall. I know I'm not that smart. But let me drive my van into your heart. Let me drive my van into your heart." Peter, too, starts to smile, even though 's voice doesn't have that much range. The genuine sincerity in 's singing is enough to tell Peter that he's going to really like this song.
"I know I'm not that rich. I'm trying to get my start. So let me drive my van into your heart. Let me drive my van into your heart." Peter looks over to his aunt and sees her bobbing her head to the song, and not too long after, Peter joins her.
"And if we look out of place, well, baby, that's okay. I'll drive us into outer space, where we can't hear what people say." As this part of the song comes on, Peter hears something he wasn't expecting to hear: his aunt may be singing along with the song.
"I know I don't have a plan. I'm working on that part. At least I've got a van. So let me drive my van into your heart." Peter smiles as he sees his aunt singing along to the song.
"Let me drive my van into your heart. Let me drive my van into your heart." Aunt May really starts to get into singing along with the song, and as Peter sees this, he tries to sing along with her.
"Let me drive my van into your heart. Let me drive my van into your heart." Peter and his aunt may sing along with the song, and Peter starts to remember the times when Uncle Ben, Aunt May, and himself would be listening to the radio in the car, and Uncle Ben and Peter would sing along to whatever was on the radio that day. Those were good times. And as the song finishes, Peter looks out the window and sees a sign that says, "Welcome to Beach City." Peter then looks at his aunt and says, "We're almost there." Aunt May looks at him and then turns her head back across the road and responds, "Alright." And ten minutes and a couple songs later, they finally arrive at their new home. Aunt May then turns off the truck and steps out. "Home sweet home," Peter says as he steps out of the truck along with his aunt.
They walk over to the front door of their new home, and Aunt May bends down to get the key underneath the welcome mat. How did you know that was there?" Peter asks "Oh, the landlord told me it was there before," Aunt May informs her nephew. "Ah, I should have thought about that." Peter chuckles as Aunt May opens the front door and walks in. Peter follows her into the empty house, looks around a bit, and then looks back at her and says, "Well, let's get to work." Aunt May nods her head, and she walks out of the house to go unlock the truck. Peter hangs back and looks around the house a bit before heading back to the truck to start the unpacking process.
After hours of moving furniture and unpacking boxes, Peter sits in his new room, going through his last box, and he takes out the final thing, the chest where he put his costume. He opens it and says, "We are going to do some good here." He then closes the small chest and places it in the back of his brand-new closet. He starts to grab the boxes and break them down, walks outside, and puts them in the recycling bin. And when he returns to his new house, he sees his aunt May on the couch, clearly tired. Aunt May looks up to see her nephew and says, "I'm going to make some calls and get you enrolled in the local school." Peter then nods his head and replies, Alright, Aunt May, thanks." He then bends down and hugs her. Goodnight, Aunt May," Peter says as he separates from the hug. Aunt May looks up, smiles, and says, "Goodnight, kiddo." Peter then walks to his new room, sits down on his bed, takes off his shoes, lays on his back, and falls into a very deep sleep.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The familiar, obnoxious sound of the alarm bounces off the walls of Peter's new room before he turns it off. Peter stands up and stretches all of his limbs as he yawns. He then walks out into the hallway and into the living room, seeing that his aunt May had fallen asleep on the couch instead of her bed in her new room. Peter then walks into his aunt's new room and grabs her blanket, which he then drapes over her. After doing this, he goes into the new kitchen, grabs a cup, and fills the cup with tap water. As he drinks it, his stomach starts to growl, begging for something to eat. Peter thinks to himself about how he can satisfy his hunger, even though they don't have any food in the house yet. Peter thinks for a minute until he remembers that there is a doughnut joint not too far from the house, so he finishes his water and places it in the sink, grabs what little money he saved up from his wallet, puts on his shoes, and sneaks out of the door to go get him and his aunt a doughnut.
Peter walks through the streets and walks by the local park to his destination. He looks up at the building with a large doughnut on top and the text below it, and it reads, "The Big Donut." Peter then chuckles a bit. "Creative," he says to himself in a sarcastic tone as he walks to the door and opens it.
"NOOO! This has to be a dream!" This startles Peter as he hears the screams of anguish. He looks to the source of the anguished voice and sees a short, chubby kid wearing a salmon pink shirt with a yellow star in the middle, blue jeans with rolled-up cuffs, and pink sandals. He has curly, dark hair. The kid then runs over to a tall, lanky guy with orange and brown hair styled like a fluffy mohawk and huge stretch-out earlobes wearing a white, almost grayish long-sleeve shirt under a purple short-sleeve shirt with The Big Dounuts logo on it and holding a box of goods. and hugs him by the waist and says, "Lars! Lars! Please tell me I'm dreaming!"
"Get off me, man, I'm stalking here," says the lanky guy now known to Peter as Lars as he walks away from the kid who tires of keeping hugging him as Lars walks away, but he falls flat on his face in front of the other worker who was behind the counter, which was a short blonde girl with pale skin wearing a similar outfit to Lars just without a longer shirt underneath the store shirt. "I'm sorry, Steven; I guess they stopped making them."
Peter decides to break his silence and announce his presence. "Uh, what's going on?" Peter says it a bit nervously. Everyone in the store then looks at Peter with a hint of surprise, and then, after a second of silence, the kid named Steven speaks up with a distraught expression, "They stopped making cookie cats!" Peter looks a bit shocked and states, "Cookie cats? I used to love those things growing up; I wonder why they would stop making them." Lars then walks over to a shelf and places the box down as he leans down to put some things away and says, "Tough bits, man, no one buys them anymore. I guess they couldn't compete with Lion Lickers." As he says this, he looks back to the refrigerator with a big cartoon lion head above it and text underneath the head saying, "Lion Lickers." Steven talks over to that refrigerator. Ugh, not Lion Lockers; nobody likes them; they don't even look like Lions."
"Oof, yeah, those do look rough," Peter says as we walk behind Steven and look at the Lion Lickers. Steven then turns to Peter and says, "Kids these days, I'll tell you what." Steven says this while shaking his head in disapproval. "Well, if you miss your wimpy ice cream so much, why don't you make some with your magic belly button?" And as Lars says this, Peter glares at him, and then Peter realizes what Lars just said and looks back at Steven and asks with a confused expression, "Magic belly button?"
"That's not how it works, Lars! Right?" Steven says this and then lifts up his shirt, revealing a gemstone instead of a belly button. Peter looks shocked and says to Steven with widened eyes, "Woah! Why is your belly button a gemstone?" Steven then looks up at Peter and smiles, "I got it from my mom!" Peter looks confused and intrigued. Peter then replies, "I've got way more questions about that, but first I'm going to get a couple of doughnuts." He then walks over to the counter. "Two chocolate doughnuts, please," Peter says to the blonde girl at the counter. She then smiles and says, "Alright." She then grabs two chocolate doughnuts, places them in a bag, and hands them to Peter, saying, "I've never seen you before. Are you new to Beach City?" Peter then takes the bag and replies, "Oh yeah, me and my aunt moved here yesterday." The girl smiles and says, Well, that's nice." She then puts her hand forward, clearly wanting Peter to shake it, and says, "My name is Sadie Miller, and welcome to Beach City!" Peter then takes her hand, shakes it, and responds, "Nice to meet you, Sadie. I'm Peter Parker." And after they're done shaking hands, Peter asks Sadie, "So how much do I owe you?" Sadie then replies, "It's on the house since you're new here." Peter then smiles and says, "Sweet. thanks, Sadie" Sadie then flashes him a smile and says, "No problem."
After Sadie says this, she looks over to Steven and sees him talking to the Cookie Cat mini-freezer, which causes Peter to look over as well. Oh, sweet Cookie Cats, with your crunchy cookie outside and your icy creamy insides, you were too good for this world." He then finishes by kissing and hugging the mini-freezer. Uh, Steven, do you want to take the freezer with you?" Sadie says this as Lars goes behind the counter. Steven looks over to Sadie, and, with a look like he's about to cry, he nods his head.
He then unplugs the mini-freezer and wraps the cord around his body like a bag handle. Peter then turns back to Sadie and says, "Well, I oughta go now. I still have a lot of questions about Steven, and I'd like them to be answered, so addio amico mio. Peter says this as he walks out, following Steven closely.
"So Steven, do you mind me coming over to your place to ask you some questions?" Steven then turns to Peter with a smile and says, "No, I don't mind!" Peter then sighs in relief: "Good, because I'm really curious about the gemstone in your belly button, and I'd love to know more about it." Steven smiles wider and says, "Well, my house is around this hill, so you won't have to wait long!" Peter sticks his thumb up as they both start to walk. And as Peter and Steven walk closer to Steven's home, Peter sees a big stone hand in the sand, and he looks up as they come around the hill, and his jaw drops when he sees a giant statue of a woman with six arms with most of the hands missing, and the statue has large curly hair that looks like it's coming from the hill itself. "Oh, my days! This statue is huge!" Peter says this in awe, then he sees Steven going toward a little beach house that's at the bottom of the statue, and Peter runs to catch up to him. and as they are both at the front door, Peter feels his spider-sense going off. "My spider-sense, why is it going off? What could be dangerous inside a beach house?" Peter decides to tread a little carefully as Steven opens the door. Steven opens the door and says, "Guys, you won't believe this!"
And before Steven could finish what he was saying, a giant green centipede with an eye in its mouth roared at him and tried to attack him. And without any hesitation, Peter grabs Steven, and without holding back even a little bit, he punches the monster in the face, which sends it flying in the air. As this happens, a short purple woman with pale lavender hair and a whip gives a little salute and says, "Sup Steven?"
Peter looks on as he sees the purple lady and two others, one being petite with an ivory complexion, peach-colored hair, and light cyan eyes, wearing a sleeveless sky blue top with a yellow star in the middle, a translucent chest, and a see-through yellow skirt with short salmon pink shorts underneath. For footwear, she wears light green socks with pale blue ballet shoes, and the weapon she is using to fight these monsters is a spear.
The other lady is tall with medium-red skin and a big cube-shaped afro on her face. She wears a pair of triangular peach-tinted shades on her shoulders, with cube-shaped shoulder pads, one pink and the other crimson. Those are connected to a black and crimson body suit, and her weapons are two massive fists that she is using to fight off these centipede monsters.
Peter watches in shock as the woman with the cube afro grabs one of the monsters that the ivory-colored one fought off out of the air and bends it back, seemingly breaking it, and then throws it at a group of the giant centipedes and then quickly dispatches a group of them. Finally, Steven speaks up. "Awesome, what are these things?" he says with a smile. Peter then looks back at Steven with a concered look and says, "I was going to ask the same thing." The ivory woman picks up one of the monsters and finally says, "Ugh, sorry Steven, we'll get these centipeetles out of your room. We think they were trying to get into the temple." Steven then walks up to the ivory woman and says, "Awe, you don't have to get rid of them; they're really cool!"
As Steven says, Peter gets that tingling feeling again, so he pulls Steven back a bit as the centipeetle spits acid and burns a hole through the hardwood floor. The three of them look in the hole, and Peter says, "That was close," and then Peter hears the purple lady's voice, which causes Peter, Steven, and the ivory woman to look where the purple lady's voice came from: "Um, you guys, these things don't have gems."
After the purple lady says this, a new voice can be heard, a much more calm-sounding voice: "That means there must be a mother somewhere nearby." Peter turns to where the voice is coming from, and it's the lady with the cube afro. As he looks at her, one of the centipedes tries to attack her, but she punches it before it can do anything. The ivory woman then responds, "We should probably find it before anyone gets hurt." Steven gets excited. "Oh, oh, can I come, can I, can I?" he pleads with the two ladies; the ivory one then looks to him and says, "Steven, until you learn to control the power in your gem, take care of protecting humanity, okay?" She then snaps the neck of the centipede in her hands. "That sounds reasonable," Peter says, which catches the attention of the ivory woman, and she asks with a puzzled expression, "Who are you?" Before Peter could introduce himself, Steven saw one of the centipeetles near the open fridge. Hey, get out of there!" Steven then runs to the centipeetle. "Go on, shoo, shoo!" he says as he shoos it away. Steven then looks in the fridge and sees that everything is a mess in there. Ugh, it got into everything," he says in frustration. He then looks up into the freezer part of the refrigerator and sees the last thing he expected. "No way! It can't be! Where did you get these?" Steven says as he grabs a Cookie Cat from the pile of them in the freezer, and then the ivory woman closes the freezer door. Steven looks up at the ivory woman and says with glee, "I thought they stopped making them!"
The ivory woman then smiles and says to the happy Steven before her, "Well, we heard that too, and since they're your favorites," the purple woman then jumps up onto the counter and sits. "We went out and stole a whole bunch!" she says with a mischievous grin. The ivory woman groans at the purple woman and says, "I went back and paid for them." The woman with the large cube afro then walks up and says, "The whole thing was my idea." As she says this, the giant fists vanish, and the purple woman retorts, "It was everyone's idea." The woman with the afro then replies, "Not really." The ivory woman decides to end the other two's little argument by saying, "All that matters is that Steven is happy." Peter awkwardly watches this unfold, and he decides to finally ask the question he's had since he came into Steven's home.
"So, who are you guys?" The sound of Peter's voice makes everybody look at him, and after a couple seconds of silence, Steven finally speaks up, "Oh, I totally forgot! Everyone, this is Peter. He's new to Beach City." Peter then awkwardly waves his hand and says, "Hi." Steven then walks over to the woman with the cube afro and says, "This is Garnet." He then points to the short, purple lady and says, "Amethyst," and then walks back over to the ivory woman and says, "And this is Pearl, and of course there's me, and together we are the Crystal Gems, and we fight monsters and save the day!" Steven says this with a very big smile. It's clear that he is very passionate about being a crystal gem.
Peter smiles at Steven's excitement and says, "So you guys are kind of like a superhero group, huh?" Steven then nods his head and replies, "Yeah, we kind of are! now, if you'll excuse me." Peter thinks Steven is going to start eating the Cookie Cat, but instead, Steven does something completely unexpected: he starts to sing.
"OOOOOOOH! He's a frozen treat with an all-new taste!" Peter is a bit shocked by this at first, but then a large smile flashes across his face after seeing Steven sing about Cookie Cat.
"Because he came to this planet from outer space."
"A refugee of an interstellar war"
"But now he's at your local grocery store."
"Cookie Cat, he's a pet for your tummy."
"Cookie Cat, he's super duper yummy."
"Cat left his family behind! Cookie Cat! Now available at Gurgens off Route 109!"
As soon as Steven finishes with the song, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Peter burst out into laughter. "Oh, Steven, that was great," Peter says as he wipes a tear from his eye from laughing. "I can't believe you did this; I'll save these forever right after I eat this one," Steven says as he looks at Pearl and then opens the wrapper, reveling in the Cookie Cat. Steven then takes the Cookie Cat out of the wrapper and says, "Hello, old friend." After he says this, he bites off one of the ears of the Cookie Cat.
"so good! I like to eat the ears first." And as Steven says this, his gem starts to glow brightly, and everyone, including Peter, stares in awe, and Amethyst speaks, "Uh, Steven." Steven looks down and sees that his gem is glowing very brightly. "My gem!" Steven exclaims with the Cookie Cat still in hand as he lifts his shirt a bit. "Quick, try and summon your weapon!" Amethyst beckons Steven, but he retorts, "I don't know how!" as the glow of his gem starts to fade. Steven starts to panic and says, "Ahh! It's fading. How do I make it come back? Pearl tries to calm Steven down. "Calm down, Steven. Breathe; don't force it." As she says, Steven is straining himself to try and summon his weapon. "And try not to poop yourself either," Amethyst jokes. "Please don't," Garnet adds.
Then the glow finally fades and everyone sighs in disappointment, and Steven slumps down onto the hardwood floors and says, "Aw, I was really close that time!" Peter then gets down on one knee, puts one of his hands on Steven's shoulder, and says, "Hey, it's fine, man. I'm sure you'll get the hang of whatever your powers may be." Peter then gives Steven a reassuring smile and then sighs, "And, uh, Steven, I know we just met not even 12 minutes ago, but I want you to always remember what I'm about to tell you."
Steven looks at Peter with a perplexed expression and asks, "What is it?" Peter then smiles again. "I know this may sound extremely corny and cheesey, but it's the truth that no matter what, with great power there always comes great responsibility."
"Such wise words for a young human. Please tell me who taught you such wisdom at such a young age, Peter?"Peter then stands back up and, with a sorrowful frown, says, "My uncle did. He was a very wise man, and he tried to teach me that lesson before he was murdered." Pearl is shocked by this. "Oh my, I'm so very sorry for your loss," Pearl says as she puts her hand to her chin. Peter then rubs the back of his neck and says, "Thanks." Peter then sighs and says, "You know, I think I should go. I'm sure that you're all very busy, and I don't want to be a bother."
Steven then speaks up. "What about the questions you wanted to ask me?"
"Oh yeah, I kind of forgot about that," Peter replied with a chuckle. "We can do that later. I should head out. My aunt may be awake and worried about me," Peter says with a smile.
Peter walks over to the door, and before he walks out to go home, he waves his goodbyes to the Crystal Gems and then walks out of the door and heads off to his new home.
As Peter walks into his home, he sees his aunt still on the couch, but this time she's scrolling on her smart phone and wrapped up in the blanket that Peter put on her earlier. Hey, Aunt May," Peter says to make his presence known. Aunt May looks up at him and says, "Oh kiddo, I didn't know you were out." Peter then puts the bag of doughnuts down on the coffee table in front of the couch and says, "Yeah, you were still asleep when I went out." Peter says this to his aunt as she unwraps the blanket that she was in. "What's in the bag? Aunt May asks after she has fully unwrapped herself from the blanket, "Oh, just a couple of doughnuts; I got them for us to share." Aunt May smiles a bit and says, "Aw, you didn't have to kiddo." Peter then sits on the couch and says, "Well, considering what happened to Uncle Ben and then having to move, I think we deserve a sweet treat."
Aunt May then smiles, hugs her nephew, and says, "Thanks, kiddo." Peter hugs her back and says, "No problem, Aunt May."
As Peter sits down on his bed to put on his shoes, he looks up at his closet. He then stands back up, opens the closet, and grabs the small chest in which he stashes his costume. He opens it up, and the first thing he sees is the big eyes of his mask staring back into his soul. He puts it aside, starts to strip himself down to his underwear, and puts on the costume. "Now that I know what kind of crap this city offers, I ought to be ready at any time," Peter thinks to himself as he finishes putting on the costume. And after that, he puts back on all of his clothes, puts on his socks and shoes, places his mask in his coat pocket, and heads out the door.
Peter walks outside and decides to check out the boardwalk first. As he arrives, he sees all the shops and the Funland arcade, which he thought was pretty cool. And as he reaches the end of the boardwalk, he gets the tingling sensation back, and he starts looking around, trying to find what was causing the feeling to go off, but before he could, he heard a loud and monstrous roar and the sounds of fighting. Peter then rushes between Beach Citywalk Fries and Fish Stew Pizza, slips on his mask, and practically throws all his clothes off to reveal his red and black costume.
Peter then sprints up the hill and zips himself onto the lighthouse to get a bird's-eye view of the situation. "Oh shit!" Peter thinks to himself as he looks down and sees Steven, the crystal gems, and a gigantic centipeetle. "It must be the mother that Garnet lady mentioned," Peter thinks to himself as he observes the battle before him. "Alright, Peter, it's now or never!" Peter exclaims to himself as he prepares himself to fight against the giant centipeetle.
It seems that all hope is lost. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are cornered and forced to hide behind the giant hand in the sand as they're being aussalted by the centipeet's acid spray, and Steven's attempt to activate his gem powers with cookie cats has seemingly failed. The centipeetle starts to try and eat Steven. "We need to save Steven!" Pearl cries as she pokes her head out from over the giant stone hand. and then swiftly the pincers on the tail of the centipeetle try and lopp of Pearl's head, but she swiftly doges them, and instead they slice off the fingers of the stone hand. "Can we save ourselves first?" Amethyst replies to Pearl as she still stands close to the hand.
"Goodbye, my friends." Steven says this with tears in his eyes as he eats two cookie cats, but to no avail; his powers aren't activating like he wanted them to. "Why isn't this working?" Steven exclaims as the centipeetle gets closer and tries to spray its acid at him, but then Steven hears a voice shout. "HEY UGLY!" And as Steven and the centipeetle looked to where the voice came from, suddenly a red and black blur collided with the monster, knocking it back and into the ground, causing an immense dust cloud to form. And as the dust settles, Steven and the gems look over at what or who could have hit the monstrous centipede.
What they can see is a scrawny human in a tight red and black costume with thin, messy black webbing on the red parts that start from the mask and lenses on the mask with thick black borders. On the human's costume are two spiders: one is black and resides on his chest, while the second is larger and blue and is on his back.
"Woah," Steven says with wide eyes and in utter awe of the new player in the battle. The centipeetle rises back up from the ground, and it is angry and lunges at the masked hero, but he was too quick for it and jumped out of the way, and then as he lands on the beast's head, he starts to wrestle with it to defeat it.
And as Steven and the crystal gems gaze upon the battle between the masked hero and the centipeetle, Steven, in the corner of his eye, spots the cookie cat mini freezer that he used to take the cookie cats outside with him and notices it's been melted by the centipeetle's acid.
"No! Oh no, no, no, no, no! Steven exclaims as he runs over to the now-broken mini freezer, and as he tries to touch it, it shocks him. Steven then looks back to the fight between the masked hero and the centipeetle and sees how the hero is struggling against the giant beast. Steven then looks back to the mini freezer. "Cookie cat, he's the pet for your tummy," Steven says with a somber expression. Steven then turns back to the masked hero and centipeetle with a determined expression and exclaims, "He's super duper yummy!" He then grabs the power cord to the mini freezer.
As Peter is fighting with the beast, he sees Steven walking up to him and the centipeetle with the power cord of the cookie cat mini freezer in both of his hands. "What the hell is he doing?" Peter says to himself while struggling with the centipeetle. "Cookie cat, he left his family behind!" Steven yells as he throws the sparking mini freezer at the centipeetle, and before it could hit the beast, Peter's spider-sense tingles, and he jumps away from the monster. As the mini freezer hits the centipeetle, it gets electrocuted.
and as Peter lands next to Steven, he sees Steven go to his knees and say, "Cookie cats are available no where." As this is happening, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are watching as the centipeetle writhes around in pain from the shocks it's getting from the broken mini freezer. "Yes!" Amethyst exclaims with glee. Garnet then turns to her fellow gems and says, "Gems Weapons," and they all summon their weapons and destroy the giant stone hand, ready to finally end this battle.
"Let's do it!" Garnet exclaims, and Amethyst and Pearl nod in agreement as they charge in to attack the centipeetle. and as they attack it, it poofs in a spectacular fashion, and its gem lands in front of Garnet. She then creates a magic pink bubble, lifts it up, and taps it on the top, making it disappear. She then looks over at Steven, who is on his knees, burying one of the cookie car wrappers.
"Farewell, sweet cookie cats. I'll always remember the time we spent together," Steven says with tears in his eyes and his stomach rumbling from eating too many cookie cats. "Hush now," he tells his stomach with closed eyes as he puts his hands on it. Amethyst then walks over to Steven and crouches by his side, saying in disbelief, "Are you crying?" Steven then quickly retorts, "Only a little!"
Amethyst then replies with an amused tone in her voice, "Well, I guess your powers don't come from ice cream." As she says this, Garnet and Pearl walk over to Steven. "Of course they don't come from ice cream," Pearl says as she pats Steven's head. She then crouches down to his level and says in a comforting tone, "Don't worry, Steven; I'm sure one day you'll learn to activate your gem."
"Yes, in your own Steveney way," Garnet adds on with a smile. "I'm okay, guys. I just—" Steven says it with a smile, but before he could add more to his statement, his stomach rumbles again, this time louder. "Uh, I think I ate way too many cookie cats," he says with a nervous look. Amethyst and Pearl begin to chuckle, and Steven awkwardly joins them before he can't contain the contents of his stomach any more, and he then throws up onto the ground.
"Oh, gross dude!" Amethyst laughs as she watches this happen, and Pearl recoils a bit in shock and disgust. Garnet, however, remains unfazed by it. and before anyone else can say anything, they hear the sounds of spitting. They look over and see the masked hero who had battled the centipeetle.
"patoowie! Ugh, gross, I got dirt in my mask!" Peter groans to himself as he takes off his mask and shakes all of the dirt in his mask out. And as he does this, he hears someone address him. "Hey you!" Peter panics a little, quickly puts his mask back on, and turns to see who has ever addressed him. He turns around to see Amethyst looking directly at him with a smile.
"Uh, hi?" Peter says it awkwardly, not knowing what to say. "Yo, dude, that was awesome! Who are you, man?" Amethyst says as she walks around him, trying to get a good look at him. Garnet and Pearl also walk over to him. "Amethyst please!" Pearl scolds Amethyst and pulls her away from Peter. She then takes a deep breath and says, "I do believe introductions are in order. So who might you be?"
Peter takes a second to respond, but he then gathers the right words in his head and says, "Oh, I'm just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!" Peter then puts his fists on his hips, hoping to look confident to the gems.
As Peter stands there with his fists on his hips, Steven then walks up to the three of them and says, "You sound like this guy I met earlier today! His name was Peter!" Steven says this with a smile!
Peter then starts to stutter a bit: "Oh, uh, that's cool, kiddo." Pearl then looks as if she's also come to this realization: "Oh my, he really does sound like Peter!" Peter then mutters under his breath, "Uh, oh..." Amethyst also comes to the realization, "Oh yeah, he does!"
Peter begins to back away a little. "A-Alright, I think I better make myself scarce now." Peter says this as he runs back to the bottom of the hill, zips himself up to the lighthouse with his webs, and jumps out of sight.
As the gems watch Peter make his exit, Steven then turns to Garnet and asks, "Hey Garnet, do you think we'll ever see him again?" Garnet then looks down at Steven. She then adjusts her visor and says, "Oh, we definitely will."
