As Din reached Luke's place it started pouring. Din quickly knocked on the door. Luke opened it.
Yes? He asked.
May I come in? Din asked. Luke glanced around the room then he opened the door allowing Din to walk in.
What are you doing here? Luke asked. Din tilted his head, Luke seemed like something was distracting him.
I brought you dinner. Din said holding it out.
Oh, thank you. Luke said reaching for it, Din noticed his hands were shaking as he took it.
Do you mind if I stay here for a minute until the rain lets up? Din asked. Luke stiffened. Won't Grogu be needing you? He asked.
He's asleep. Din replied. Luke nodded. Suddenly a loud clap of thunder rang out. Luke flinched quickly inhaling. Are you alright? Din asked.
Yes. Luke replied a little to quickly.
Alright. Din said slowly watching Luke carefully. Luke was taking measured breaths. The sky lit up as lightning struck. Luke jumped, backing up his breathing picking up. Din took a step towards Luke.
Are you alright?
Mhm yeah. Luke replied though he was shaking. Luke took a deep breath. I'm alright. He said again. Din nodded slightly. Once more the sky lit up as lightning struck, Luke jumped letting out a small cry.
Luke? Din said reaching for him. Luke shook his head backing up clearly panicked. What's going on? Din asked touching his arm. Luke jerked his arm away crying out in pain. Din pulled away worriedly.
I- I'm fine, you should go. Luke managed to say. Din stared at Luke for a moment then glanced outside.
I don't think I should go. Din finally said. Luke started to shake his head but a loud bang rang threw the room. Luke jumped gasping for breath, he fell to his knees wrapping his arms around himself.
Luke! Din yelled dropping Infront of him. Luke was starting to hyperventilate. Luke, you need to breath. Din said careful not to touch him. Luke shook his head his hands going to clutch his hair.
Father help me please! Din heard Luke whisper.
Luke, copy my breathing. Din said taking a deep breath, he could see Luke struggling to follow along. Din and Luke sat breathing for a minute when lightning struck causing Luke to start hyperventilating again. Not sure what to do Din pulled Luke close to himself.
You need to calm your breathing. Din said pressing Luke's hand to his chest. Match your breathing to mine. Luke's eyes frantically scanned Din's helmet trying to find somewhere to focus. Just focus on me. Din said. Luke shakily reached up pressing his hand to dins helmet. He tried desperately to follow Din's breathing.
a few minutes passed and Luke seemed to be calming down Din realized in relief. Din glanced out the window The storm seemed to be passing over them. Din looked back down at Luke who was practically in his lap.
Are you alright? Din asked. Luke glanced up at Din, his eyes looked distant. He opened his mouth to say something then shut it. Din could tell Luke was exhausted.
Just rest. Din said.
You should go. Luke mumbled.
It's alright, just rest. Din replied. Luke's eyes slipped close and he fell into a restless sleep. Din let out a breath feeling like it was the first time he could relax sense he walked into Luke's place. Din looked down at Luke, he looked so young and innocent, but Din could also see the great pain he was carrying. Din sighed sadly.
An hour passed and Luke stirred in Dins arms. Luke's eyes slowly opened. He blinked for a few seconds then suddenly sat up straight pushing away from Din.
I'm sorry! Luke said.
It's alright. Din said holding out a hand. Luke's eyes darted around the room.
What happened? He asked.
You fell asleep after... Din paused not sure what to say, after you freaked out. Din finished. Luke glanced away.
I'm sorry you saw that. Luke said.
It's fine. Din replied standing up. Luke slowly stood up as well.
Thank you for coming, you should go back to Grogu now. Luke said avoiding eye contact.
Grogu's alright he's sleeping, if you want me to stay. Din said. Luke shook his head.
It's fine Din, I'm sorry for what happened earlier, you should go now.
Din nodded though he was hesitant to leave Luke alone. Luke opened the door for Din wincing as he did so.
Are you sure your alright? Din asked
Yes I'm fine Din. Luke replied.
Din reluctantly stepped outside. Goodbye Luke. He said.
Luke didn't reply but nodded shutting the door. Din started walking back to his place, after a minute Din paused glancing behind him, he could see Luke sitting on his bed a blank expression on his face. Din sighed. He was worried about Luke.
