I'm glad you like the story since I managed to get the new chapter with help from a good friend.

Also I would like to thank UltimateCCC for guessing the clue I left in ch19 so if you are seeing this consider this a shout out to you.

Now as I said earlier this chapter will be focusing on the battle part of the contest.

Also I am looking for a beta reader for this story so if anyone is interested let me know in the PMS and we can talk about it.

Also the next chapter of this will be uploaded in early September.

Chapter 20: Crazy moves in Saffron part 2

'Ash and the others have arrived in Saffron city so that May can compete in the Pokémon contests in Kanto, she met Lillian the MC for Kanto she is the sister of Vivian of Hoenn and along the way she ran into Harley who was helping out at the Pokémon center and it seems he wanted to make amends with May but he was still using his old tricks and try keep May from registering but he did help her get the Pokémon back from Team Rocket and when it seems May lost hope, Lillian step in and told the concierge that May help rescue everyone's Pokémon and she got in and Lillian asked that she makes a great performance and during the contest first half, May, Harley and Jessie have passed and now they're in the second half and they will battle until one wins the Saffron ribbon.'

"Welcome to round 2 everyone." Lillian announced. "Victory goes to the coordinator in each pair whose attacks beautifully and effectively lower their opponents points within the 5 minute time limit. And onto the stage our first pairing, give it up for Harley vs Jessabella. So start the clock now!" she said to begin and the clock begin counting down.

"Go my cool Ariados go!" Harley said throwing his PokéBall.

"ARIA!" said Ariados.

"I knew he start with Ariados." May said.

"Squirtle squirt." Replied Squirtle.

"Let's go Wobbuffet!" Jessie called out.

"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet.

"Why Wobbuffet?" James said confused.

"Wouldn't be my first choice." Added Meowth.

"Well this outta be a interesting matchup." Put in Ash.

"I bet this buffoon doesn't realize Wobbuffet's counter doubles an opponents attack and sends it right back at him, as soon he makes his move I'll have a knock out and this battle will be over." Jessie thought.

But Harley was wise to the defensive powers of Wobbuffet.

" Tch, she's waiting to turn my attack back on me. Best right now is to do nothing at all." Harley thought.

"It looks like a stand off with neither one launching an attack." Said Lillian.

"I wonder what those two are doing?" said May.

"Squirtle." Added Squirtle.

"You know what I think?" said Brock. "Harley too concerned about counter and mirrorcoat to make a move, he's just gonna wait."

"Yeah but Brock, Wobbuffet can't attack on its own either." Added Max.

"So they're both going to sit there?" Ash said.

"Pika." Followed Pikachu.

"Afraid so unless something gets them to move." Finished Dante.

"Coordinators the clock is ticking." Said Lillian who getting annoyed with neither side moving.

Even the judges were getting a bit bored.

"Oh come on, will you hurry up and attack us already?" said Jessie with Wobbuffet agreeing.

"Not a chance I know what you're trying to do." Harley retorted with Ariados agreeing with him.

This has a reach a point for Lillian.

"You leave me with no choice." She said. "Both of you are issued a yellow card."

Lillian held out yellow cards for both of them and their points were cut in half.

"What?" cried Jessie.

"No fair!" added Harley.

"Sorry but this isn't a staring contest, you give us nothing to judge." Said Lillian.

"Not remarkable at all." Said Mr. Sukizo.

Mr. Contesta warned Jessie and Harley if they get another yellow card they will be disqualified.

Both Harley and Jessie argue back and forth and Lilian is about to disqualify both of them for not battling until Harley declares that he will make a move.

Then he realized something it didn't say his moves had to be an offensive attack and so a plan was formed.

"Let's go Ariados use String shot." Harley ordered.

Ariados fired string shot from its mouth.

"Yeah here's our chance Wobbuffet." Said Jessie.

Wobbuffet used Counter, but it was stopped when Ariados' string shot caught him and then his arms were caught as well.

"What? No way!" Jessie said surprised.

"Counter and Mirror Coat don't work on defensive moves. Now Ariados let's have some fun with Wobbuffet." Said Harley.

Ariados tugged the strings shots and moved Wobbuffet like a puppet.

Then Harley and Ariados did some poses and Wobbuffet was doing it as well even standing on his hands.

Everyone laughed at the display.

"What an interesting attack." Said Nurse Joy.

"Yes remarkable." Added Mr. Sukizo.

"Perfect sync between coordinator and his Pokémon." Finished Mr. Contesta.

"You put your right foot out, you put your left foot out and you bounce it all around." Harley sing.

"Stop that this is a serious battle." Said Jessie frustrated.

"That's smart he used string shot which is a defensive attack." Brock said.

"That way it won't be bounced back by Counter or Mirror Coat." Added Max.

Harley kept singing and posing with Ariados and even laughed.

"Ok Harley it's hard to really admit but you're really good." Said May.

James and Meowth watched as Jessie's points keep dropping and hoping that she can win or as Meowth said "That would be it."

"Come on get it together Wobbuffet." Order Jessie.

But there's nothing Wobbuffet can do.

"Let's finish this, Ariados throw it for a touchdown!" he ordered.

Ariados then threw Wobbuffet in the air and he came falling down freed from string shot and landed on Ariados' back.

"That cost Empress Jessabella the last of her points and moving on is Harley!" said Lillian.

Jessie, James, and Meowth then fall to the ground, turning white from disbelief.

"Well that was unexpected." Ash said.

"Pikachu." Said Pikachu.

"Well looks like Harley will be battling May once the next battles ends." Dante put in.

The others nodded in agreement and they hope May will win.

May breezes through the next rounds with Squirtle defeats a Crobat with Bubble followed by Squirtle knocks out a Weepinbell with Tackle. Similarly, Ariados entangles a Walrein in a Spider Web. With both May and Harley having won all their rounds, they find themselves in the finals of the Saffron Contest.

Max and Ash applauded Squirtle for getting May to the finals on its first try, but Brock and Dante remained cautious as Harley is a tough opponent and May will have her work cut out for this battle.

Lillian begins the match and the clock started counting down.

"Squirtle take the stage!" May said throwing her PokéBall.

Out came Squirtle ready to go.

"Come on Ariados string shot!" called Harley.

Out came Ariados and then Harley followed it up with Scary face.

Ariados attaches itself to the ceiling with its String Shot and swings into frighten Squirtle with a Scary Face, sending Squirtle rolling back to May.

"It's alright Squirtle get up." Called May and Squirtle got back up.

"Once again Ariados used String shot, but they added a twist with Scary face." Commented Lillian.

"You'll need more than that, Squirtle use Ice beam!" ordered May.

Squirtle recovered and used Ice beam at Ariados but the move was so strong it knocked Squirtle off it's feet and fired and Ariados went up to the ceiling to avoid it.

"That was really strong." Said Ash.

"Yeah but May hasn't have much control of it." Added Brock.

Then Harley taunted May that she should've use Combusken since a fire type would be better against a bug type like Ariados.

"Come on Squirtle get back up, we're still going to win this thing." Said May.

But Squirtle was flailing on its back unable to get up leaving it as a sitting duck.

"Ariados hit Squirtle with String shot." Harley ordered.

Ariados got to the top of the ceiling and then fired String Shot at Squirtle and pulled it all the way up and hold it.

And the way Harley did that cost May a bit of her points.

"How are they going to get out of this one?" Max said.

"You know I figured that Harley would had to resort to cheating to win." Added Brock.

"Keep cool May, there's got to be a way out of this, you just have to think." Called Ash with Pikachu agreeing.

'There's a way Ash but only May can figure this one out.' Dante thought.

Harley decided to try rack up some style points.

"Ariados cover the whole stage with Spider Web!" he said.

Ariados then fired a barrage of spider web and kept going until the entire stage was full of webs.

"What's this? Amazing a spider web attack use to give the whole stage an incredible yet eerie feel." Lillian said.

"I'm far from done humiliating you, now Ariados give me a Squirtle round up." He said.

Ariados spun Squirtle around and then threw it onto the web and it got stuck.

May told Squirtle to get out but the more Squirtle struggled the more her points dropped.

Harley then said he has waiting for a long time to payback May for the defeats back in Hoenn and she will experienced what he felt and told Ariados use Double Edge.

Ariados then descends down from the ceiling to the web and begins walking towards Squirtle to strike with Double-Edge. May tries a Bubble attack, but it doesn't even slow Ariados down.

May then recalled how Squirtle used Ice Beam and the solution hits her and she knew what to do now.

"Squirtle ice beam go!" she said.

Squirtle use ice beam to free itself and in the process froze Ariados stopping its attack and freezing the entire webs and Harley's points took a massive drop.

Ash and the others cheered for May and Squirtle and Harley was surprised by that.

Then May had Squirtle jumped on the frozen web and use Bubble attack and it broke Ariados free and send it backwards.

"Ariados fight back." Said Harley.

Ariados tried to but could not get a grip on the frozen webs.

Squirtle slides down the icy webs like a surfer and Tackles Ariados to the ground, knocking it out. Squirtle neatly lands on its feet on top of Ariados.

The judges ruled that Ariados couldn't continued the battle and with the clock stop at 1:44, Lillian declared that May is the winner of the contest.

Squirtle comes running back to May for a hug as Ash, Brock, and Max cheer from the stands. Harley thinks that the Contest was rigged and walks off in a huff after he recalled Ariados.

The crowd cheers as May is awarded her first Kanto Ribbon, making for a great start to her Kanto Contest campaign.

"The Saffron Ribbon is all ours!" said May with Squirtle and Combusken joining in the pose.

Soon everyone was walking out of the contest hall congratulating May for her first ribbon win.

Ash admit he was a little worried but he was happy that May won.

Brock and Max was also happy for May's win and Brock added that Squirtle needs a bit more practice with Ice Beam.

"Awesome work May you show Harley a thing or two." Said Dante.

"Thanks guys and I'll make sure to brush up on all of my Pokémon attacks." Said May.

Just then Dante noticed something behind a tree.

"Guys you head for the pokémon center, I'll catch up in a few minutes." Said Dante.

Dante then headed off and the others headed for the Pokémon center, when he got to the tree he found Harley there.

"So heading off?" said Dante.

"Yes and don't worry I will honor our deal and try to get some information on the one you told me and I will be careful." Harley said.

"And don't you worry I will teach your Cacturne one new move." Dante added.

"And I promise not to mess with May when registering." Said Harley.

"Ok well better get going and if you see him do not battle him." Dante warned.

"Got it see you at the 3rd contest hall." Harley said.

And with that Harley left for the next contest and Dante went to the Pokémon center.

There everyone had a big dinner to celebrate May's win and after a night's worth of sleep, Ash and the others decided to head out of the city.

(A little time skip)

Ash and the others had a little stop at a park and well May wanted to check out a place called battle noodles for lunch and Max wanted to go a Dojo where there's a expo on Fighting Pokémon, so Ash, Max, Pikachu and Dante went to the Dojo and May and Brock went to get noodles.

But soon all 5 were dragged into a squabble with Master Hamm and his son Kyle and his friend Terri. Then Ash battle for Hamm after he injured his back and May with Kyle and the battle kept going until Team Rocket burst in and try to take Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, but Terri stopped them with Hitmontop and send them blasting off and well everything was revealed. The reason Kyle didn't want to take over it's because his dad made the best noodles ever and was trying to make ones he be proud of, and after some compromising, Kyle continue work his shop, his dad now can travel around the world selling noodles and Terri runs the dojo.

After some noodles, Master Hamm apologized to everyone and told Ash and his friends that there's another fighting dojo where you can get a Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan and told Max where it was and got the directions.

"Well Ash care to make one more detour?" said Dante.

"Well I guess and it would be cool to see more Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan." Ash answered.

Soon they said goodbye to Master Hamm, Kyle and Terri and headed off.

"Guys let's agree we better be more careful next time we get caught in a family squabble." Advised Dante.

Everyone agreed.

However in the shadows of some trees they were being watched by a group that Ash, Misty and Brock beat way before Ash went to Hoenn.

"That's Ash and Brock right Kam?" said Kail.

"It's them alright what do we do?" asked Kam.

"Simple we follow them and then we show them not to mess with the Invincible Pokémon Brothers!" said Kim.

So they followed Ash and the others hoping to get revenge.

"After a long fought battle May has won her first ribbon in the Kanto Pokémon contest circuit, also Dante and Harley made sure to honor the deal they made and after helping Master Hamm settled things with his son Kyle and his friend Terri, they were directed to another Dojo where anyone can get either a Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan. Once the detour ends they'll be on their way to the Battle Arena, will Ash get a new Pokémon or will be caught up with the invincible Pokémon brothers revenge? Find out next time as the journey continues."

(Meanwhile with Team Rocket)

After Jessie's loss at the contest the trio walked around the woods when they were jumped by a Graveler who attacked them with rock throw and James send out his Cacnea to battle it.

Graveler then used flamethrower and James told Cacnea to dodge and use Needle Arm which struck a blow at Graveler and dealt a bit of damage, but that made Graveler mad.

Then Graveler used rock slide and it struck Cacnea and Jessie then send out Seviper to help out and used Poison tail but Graveler caught it and countered with Fire Punch and struck Seviper hard sending it flying to a tree.

"No Seviper!" cried Jessie.

Cacnea was in shock of seeing its friend getting hurt and it got mad, so mad that a new move sprung forth from within and then it got in front of Graveler and it was going to use fire punch again when Cacnea fired multiple white darts from the middle hole of its mouth and hit Graveler.

"What the?" said James.

"Was that…" Jessie said as she trailed off.

"That was Poison sting." Said Meowth.

"Awesome Cacnea you learned Poison sting!" said James.

Now Graveler was really mad and got ready to use another move fire blast.

"Cacnea use Poison sting and then Needle arm!" said James.

Cacnea fired Poison sting and it struck Graveler stopping its attack and then followed up with Needle Arm and landed a powerful blow on it sending it flying towards a rock and hit it and was defeated.

"Now to finish it." Said James as he pulled out a PokéBall.

"Go Pokéball!" he said throwing it.

The ball hit Graveler and was sent inside the ball and landed on the ground, the ball moved around as it flashed red 3 times and then chimed as it stopped meaning it was caught.

James then walked over and picked it up.

"All Right I caught Graveler!" said James.

Jessie and Meowth congrats James on catching it and Cacnea for learning Poison sting.

"Well let's get Delibird and send this one to the boss!" said James.

Jessie and Meowth nodded and after putting a call, Delibird came and James handed a box which contained Graveler's Pokeball and it took off for HQ.

Now the trio headed their own way and try to catch Pikachu.

(Meanwhile on the outskirts of Cerulean city)

Someone was leaving the city and in his hand was the cascade badge and it was the same trainer who beaten Brock's father.

It was Giovanni's son Silver.

"That battle with the tomboy Mermaid Misty was a bit more tricky but she put up a good fight and almost beat me if I didn't had Electabuzz." He said to himself.

He then looked at his Pokégear and saw the next gym was in Vermillion city.

"Let's see if this Lt. Surge can beat me." Silver said to himself.

He then pulled out a Pokéball and threw it and out came Tauros who let out a mooing noise.

Silver climbed on its back and gave it a nudge to get going and Tauros took off with Silver heading to the next gym.

"Soon we will meet Ash and I will prove to my father that I am the strongest." He said to himself as he vanished into the night.

Ok that ends this chapter.

Sorry it took so long had a bit of a idea block but it's settled.

Now this chapter is done I can focus on other stories and projects.

Now as I said in the last chapter the next one will be out in either Aug or Sept but no promises.

Now then Cacnea has learned Poison sting and I thought It would be cool for Cacnea to learn it.

Now in the last bit of the chapter the invincible Pokémon brothers have come back and they want some revenge and I would like to Thank UlitmateCCC and a good friend of mine for guessing the clue I left.

Now as you probably read it Ash and the others will be heading to another fighting Dojo, well Saffron City is big and there's probably more than one fighting Dojo in the anime so they'll heading for one that's like in Journeys.

So I will ask you again which one should May or Brock get Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan? Let me know.

Also on my last poll regarding My Alien Academia vol 1 there's a tie between 2 choices so I will have a discussion with some my friends on discord to talk about it.

Now I will ask you this what 3 new moves should Jessie's Seviper should learn? I need 3 moves, So PM me your choices.

Also the episode where Pikachu learned Volt Tackle and May getting her Eevee egg, well I am going to put as my pitstop for the story as I will do my own take on the Mastermind of Mirage pokémon.

Oh one more thing I am going to do a chapter of May with her Birthday and I want to ask should it be the same day as her manga counterpart Sapphire 9/20? Let me know.
