I hope you are all doing ok.
Now here's the new chapter of a different path to take.
Also after a bit looking over the votes in the poll I have made my choice made and you'll find out in the story.

Chapter 21: vengeance at the dojo part 1.
'Last time: May had entered in the Saffron Pokémon contest and was able win the appeal round with Combusken and managed to battle to the final round against Harley, she had a bit of trouble cause Squirtle had a bit of tough control of Ice beam but May was able to use that to her advantage and used it to freeze the web and Ariados and then use bubble and then finished it with Tackle winning her first Kanto ribbon and on the downlow Harley agreed to gather some info for Dante in exchange for teaching his Cacturne a new move. Also May and the others were able to help settle a dispute at a dojo between Master Hamm and his son Kyle and after that Master Hamm told them of another fighting dojo in the city and they headed there for a chance to get either a Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan but unaware that a certain trio that Ash and Brock beat back at the end of their journey of Johto and they wanted revenge and followed them.'
(In Saffron City)
"I can't believe I got my first ribbon!" said May as they walked along.
"You've earned it May." Ash said with Pikachu agreeing.
"Yeah and you beat Harley!" Added Max.
"Yeah you did well May and I know getting the next ribbon will be a snap." Dante put in.
"Thanks guys." Said May appreciating the compliments.
The gang continued walking towards the dojo that Master Hamm told them about and were making good time.
Max was checking the directions on his PokéNav and saw they were heading in the right direction.
"We're almost there guys." He told them. "Just keep going and it'll be on the right."
They kept on walking for a little bit until Max's PokéNav started beeping.
"We're here." He said.
Everyone turned to see their destination and saw it.
"The fighting Dojo." Said Dante.
There it was the dojo it was guarded by a big door and behind it were 4 battle fields and there were two buildings with the big one being the main building.
"We're here." Said Max.
They walked to the door and then Ash said "Hello anyone in there?"
Just then the gates opened up and out came some trainers talking amongst themselves saying it was hard but they each got a new Pokémon respectively and were heading to the Pokémon center to heal their Pokémon.
"Looks like they managed to get new Pokémon." Summarized Dante.
"Yeah I bet getting Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan won't be easy." Said Max.
"Well I guess we'll find out." Put in May.
"Well that does bring up one which one do we get?" asked Brock.
"That's a good question Brock." Said Ash.
Soon they went inside and the doors closed behind them, but hiding in the trees were the invincible Pokémon brothers.
"Bro they went inside the Dojo." Whispered Kail.
"I know." Whispered Kai.
"So what do we do now bro?" Kam whispered.
"It's time for our plan and were using a move out of team rocket's playbook." Kai said.
Soon they began putting their plan and revenge into motion.
Back in the dojo Ash and the others looked around and were amazed of they are seeing.
There was a lot of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan training and practicing in some of the fields the Hitmonlee's were jumping around and practicing their kicks and the Hitmonchan's were sharpening their punches.
Everyone was amazed and impressed at what they are seeing.
"It would be cool to have one of them." Said Max.
"Yeah it would be cool." Added Ash.
"Well then you come to the right place."
The gang turned around to see some people at the steps of the dojo and they were wearing some white Gis and some belts and one of them had a red headband on his head.
"Welcome to the fighting Dojo I am Koichi the Karate Master." He introduced himself.
"Hi my name is Ash and this is my partner Pikachu." Ash introduced.
"Pikachu." Said Pikachu.
"Hi my name is May." May Introduced.
"I'm Max." he followed.
"I'm Brock." He added.
"The name's Dante." Dante finished.
"So what brings you here?" Koichi asked.
Ash told them about the battle frontier and Master Hamm sent them over here after helping settling things between him and Kyle.
"I see so, if Master Hamm told you about this place it means you're strong trainers." Said Koichi.
"Yep." Said everyone.
"That's good so here you have the option of getting a Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan." Said Koichi.
"So I take it the trainers that left here have won?" asked Ash.
"That's right and right now my Pokémon need time to rest, but after that you can challenge me to decide one after a while, you're welcome to look around." Said Koichi.
"Thanks." Said the others.
Soon they walked around and check out the place and Pokémon to make their choice of which one to get.
Ash, May and Brock were thinking hard about which one to get.
They asked Dante if he was going to get one, but he said no because he already caught them through his Journey in Johto.
"So do you know which one should we get?" asked May.
Dante thought for a moment, he admits both Pokémon are unique in their own way, Hitmonlee with its powerful legs and Hitmonchan with its fast punches it's hard to choose which one.
"I think I might have an idea or two." Dante said.
"What is it?" asked the others.
"Well there's one thing we can try but we need both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan to come over." Advised Dante.
"Ok." Said May and Brock.
Soon they got the Pokémon.
"Ok now what Dante?" Brock asked.
"Well can you step forward Brock?" he asked.
"Sure." Said Brock.
Brock then step forward in front of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan.
"Ok I need you to listen carefully, I want you to close your eyes and clear your mind and then pick which of these Pokémon best suits you. The answer will come to you." Dante advised.
"Ok I'll try." Said Brock.
He then closed his eyes and began to his clear his mind to figure out which of the fighting Pokémon he wants to pick.
Brock thought about all of the Pokémon he has seen and encounter through his journey and he has many he caught and now it was time for him to choose, he looked at Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan and focus, while he doesn't like to brag too much, Brock did have a lean built body and if wasn't a breeder/trainer he would fit in the world of boxing.
(That's it!) he thought.
Brock opened his eyes and made his choice.
"So Brock have you made your choice?" Asked Dante.
"I have Dante, the Pokémon I pick is Hitmonchan." Brock answered.
"CHAN!" said Hitmonchan with glee.
"Ok Brock has made his choice, you're up next May." Called Dante.
"Alright then." She said and took Brock's place.
Now May did the same thing and focus on which Pokémon she feels more connected to.
She focused on her own Pokémon especially Combusken and then between the two fighting types and then a spark came and her choice was made.
"I Pick Hitmonlee!" declared May.
"Lee!" Hitmonlee said with pride as it extends its leg.
"What about you Ash?" asked May.
Ash was still pondering when Dante spoke up.
"Don't worry Ash take your time you'll tell us when you beat The Karate Master." He said.
"Ok." Ash answered.
"So Brock why did you pick Hitmonchan?" Asked Max.
"Well Max I thought about which Pokémon I have that's like a part of me in a way and well I don't brag but I am strong and if I'm honest I have the body type of a breeder, trainer and maybe in another life a boxer that's why I chose Hitmonchan." Brock explained.
"Very good answer Brock and you May why did you pick Hitmonlee?" asked Dante.
"Well I chose Hitmonlee because well it reminds me of Combusken and well since both are fighting types and Combusken are known for their fast kicks, that's the one I feel a connection to." May answered.
"Good Answer May." Said Dante.
"Seems that 2 of you have made your choices already."
They turn to see Koichi the Karate master with his students.
"Yeah we have." Said Brock.
"So does this mean you're ready to battle?" Ash said.
"Not yet, but my students Mike and Hiro would be glad to battle you, defeat them and you get the Pokémon." Said Koichi.
Mike was a black belt fighting type trainer he had dark blue hair and eyes and was eager to go, Hiro had black hair and brown eyes and he was pumped too.
"So who's going first?" Koichi said.
"I am." Said May.
"And who do you pick to battle?" Koichi asked again.
"I pick Hiro!" she said.
"Very well then everyone follow me to the Dojo indoor battle field." Koichi called out.
Everyone then followed him inside the dojo where the battles will take place.
(Meanwhile in some woods)
The invincible Pokémon brothers were busy building something and they had their Pokémon out to help them build.
"Kam are you almost done?" shouted Kim.
"Almost bro putting in the final touches, what about you Kail?" Kam called.
"About 95% done just need to get this part in and done!" said Kail.
"Good I got my end done, now waiting for you 2 to finish." Kim said.
The brothers were working to build a mecha similar to the ones team rocket builds but with their own color and style.
It took them about 35 minutes to put together the parts and then another 15 minutes to put them together.
"Ok it's done." Said Kam.
"Good once it's powered up we'll head to the dojo and get our revenge!" declared Kim.
Soon they got in their machine and began powering it up.
(Back at the dojo)
Everyone was inside and the battle arena looked like there was a lot of battles in here.
"This place was busy." Said Ash.
"Pikachu." Agreed Pikachu.
"Ok May, Hiro take your places." Said Koichi.
Both of them took their positions on opposite sides of the field with Koichi acting as ref.
"OK! The battle between May from Petalburg city and Blackbelt Hiro from Saffron city is about to begin each side will have the use of 1 Pokémon and the battle will be over when one's Pokémon on either side is unable to continue. Everyone ready?" Koichi announced.
"Yes!" said both trainers.
"Then bring out your Pokémon!" Koichi shouted.
"Combusken let's go!" she said.
"Combusken!" it said landing its feet.
"Ok Machoke let's go!" Hiro said throwing his PokéBall.
"CHOKE!" it shouted coming out.
Max was surprised at Machoke as it did some flexing with its muscles and he knew it was strong.
So did the others and knew this was not going to be easy.
"May be careful!" shouted Ash.
May nodded and told Combusken to watch Machoke's moves.
"Battle Begin!" Koichi shouted raising both arms.
"Ok Combusken use Fire spin!" May ordered.
Combusken unleashed a spiral blast of red-orange towards Machoke.
"Machoke dodge that and then use cross chop!" Hiro shouted.
"Machoke!" it said as it jump to avoid fire spin and then went after Combusken and crosses the arms in the form of an "X" its forearms glow with white energy.
"Combusken dodge it and use Ember!" May said.
Combusken jumped out of the way in time and fired bolts of fire from its beak and it hits Machoke dealing a bit of damage.
"Machoke!" Hiro shouted.
Machoke took some damage but it was still standing.
"Machoke use Bulk up!" Hiro ordered.
"CHOOOOKKKKKKKEEEEEEE!" it yelled as there was a red aura around it and it felt its muscles getting bigger and buffed and flexed.
'That mean its attacks are going to be stronger.' May thought.
"May better watch out." Said Brock.
"Machoke now use cross chop!" Hiro ordered.
Machoke came in with its forearms glowing white and this time landed a hit on Combusken and thanks to bulk up the damage was increased.
"Combusken!" May shouted.
Combusken was sent back but regain its footing.
"Combusken are you alright?" May asked worryingly.
"Combusken." It said letting her know.
"Ok we need to deal a lot of damage to Machoke and fast." She said to herself.
Then came an idea.
"Machoke get in and use Mega punch!" said Hiro.
Machoke charged towards Combusken with its right fist glowing in white.
"Combusken use Ember!" May shouted.
Combusken fired bolts of fire at Machoke.
"Block it!" Hiro shouted.
And Machoke block the ember attack and kept going but that was a part of May's Strategy.
"Combusken use Quick attack to dodge!" she said.
Combusken moved quickly with a white streak and got behind Machoke.
"Now Fire Spin!" said May.
"COMBUSKEN!" shouted Combusken and unleashed a powerful Fire Spin and it stuck Machoke's back hard dealing damage.
"Follow up with Peck!" May Added.
Combusken moved in and started pecking Machoke with its beak dealing super effective damage to it.
"Right since peck is a flying type move its super effective against fighting types." Said Max.
"That's right and May is able to get some hits in as well!" added Ash.
"But it ain't over yet." Dante said.
"Machoke use Mega Punch!" Hiro said.
Machoke pushed off Combusken and got ready to attack with its fist glowing white.
"I don't think so Combusken use fire spin!" said May.
Combusken fired off another Fire spin and struck Machoke again.
"Now use Sky Uppercut!" she added.
Combusken came in with its claws glowing light blue and struck Machoke in the chin sending it flying.
Hiro saw that his Machoke was now in trouble and there was nothing he can do now.
"Now Combusken finish this with Quick Attack!" shouted May.
Combusken moved fast with a white streak behind it and then slammed into Machoke and sending it off the field and into the wall.
"Machoke no!" Hiro cried out.
Machoke let out a weak groan as tried to get itself out of the wall and by the time it do so, all of the energy it had was gone and fell to the ground with a big thud and its eyes were in a spiral pattern.
"Machoke is unable to battle. Combusken wins! The victor is May!" Koichi said raising his left hand.
"All right we won Combusken!" said May with joy.
"Combusken!" said Combusken being happy.
"All right May!" shouted Ash.
"Way to go sis!" followed Max.
"Nice Job May!" put in Brock.
"That was impressive!" finished Dante.
"Thanks guys." Said May feeling happy.
Hiro went to check on his Machoke and see if was alright and it was just a bit worn out.
"You did well Machoke, you fought well. Now get a good long rest." Hiro said recalling his Pokémon.
"Very well done May you have defeated Hiro and as such you may go pick the Pokémon of your choice." Said Koichi.
"Ok then." Replied May after recalling Combusken.
May then followed Hiro outside with the others and there was Hitmonlee waiting.
"Ok May here's Hitmonlee, train it well and take care of it." Hiro said.
"I will." Answered May.
"Here you go." Hiro said handing her a PokéBall.
"Thanks Hiro ok PokéBall go!" she said throwing it.
The ball hit Hitmonlee's head and turned into a red light and went inside the ball and fell to the ground, the ball moved around making a whirring noise for a couple of seconds before it stopped and made a chime noise meaning it was caught.
May ran up and picked up the PokéBall.
"Alright!" she said doing a spinning pose. "I got Hitmonlee!" she stopped and extended her hand to finish her pose.
Everyone congratulated May on her win and Ash even hugged her which made May blushed but still accept the hug.
Once everyone calmed down, Koichi cleared his throat.
"Good job May you now have your own Hitmonlee." Koichi said.
May said "thanks."
"Ok the next battle is Brock vs Mike are you ready Brock?" he asked.
"Uh not yet I need to go the Pokémon center to get one of my Pokémon transferred I'll be right back." Said Brock.
And with that he ran straight for the Pokémon center.
"What was that?" asked Mike.
"Don't know." Ash answered.
"I think I know." Dante added.
Turns out that during May's battle Brock noticed that Machoke has some great power, defense and speed and so the fighting pokémon can give his Pokémon like Mudkip and Forretress trouble since Forretress is a steel type and they're weak against fighting types, so Brock decided he needed the help of the one Pokémon he first caught back with his journey with Ash and Misty.
It took Brock about 15 minutes but he came back with a Pokéball in his hand.
He was catching his breath when he stopped.
"Sorry about that but had to get an old friend from home." He said.
"I think I know who you mean." Said Dante.
"Well I'm ready Mike shall we get started?" Brock said.
Mike nodded and everyone went back inside.
But out in the woods there was something moving out there, something big.
It was the invincible Pokémon brothers mech it's a blue version of a Arbok tank and it rolled along the ground.
"Kail how are things?" asked Kim.
"Going well bro, everything is going good." Kail said.
"Good are we there yet?" Kim said.
"Nearly there about 20 minutes out." Replied Kam.
"Good once we strike we'll catch them off guard." Said Kail.
"Alright then head for the fighting Dojo!" shouted Kim.
"Right!" said the others.
And the tank moved ahead towards the dojo.
(Back at the dojo)
Everyone was inside and Brock and Mike were in position and Koichi took his place as the ref.
"The battle between Mike and Brock will begin the rules are the same is everyone ready?" he asked.
"Yes!" they answered.
"Very well bring out your Pokemon!" Koichi shouted.
"Primeape let's knock them out!" Mike shouted.
"Primeape!" it shouted coming out.
"Crobat let's go!" Brock shouted.
"CROOOO!" said Crobat as it took flight.
Both of their Pokémon took their positions on the field.
"Well Brock has got this, Flying types like Crobat has the advantage." Said Max.
"True but never underestimate any Pokémon Max remember this expect the unexpected." Advised Dante.
"He's right Max." said Ash.
"I hope you carry this advice when you start your journey." May added.
Max nodded.
"Battle Begin!" Said Koichi.
"Primeape use thunder punch! Mike shouted.
Primeape leaped up and with its fist covered in electricity.
"Crobat dodge that!" shouted Brock.
Crobat flew to the right to avoid getting hit.
"Primeape try again." Mike commanded.
Primeape went after Crobat with another thunder punch.
This time it leaped towards it.
"Crobat dodge it!" shouted Brock.
Crobat ducked down and got behind Primeape.
"Now use Wing Attack!" he added.
Crobat came in fast with its wings glowing white and struck Primeape dealing a lot of damage.
"Primeape counter with Thunder punch!" Mike ordered!
Primeape regain itself and this time landed a direct hit on Crobat sending it flying down.
"Crobat hang in there!" Brock cried out.
Crobat opened its eyes and regain itself and flew fast.
"Ok Crobat let's show them what you have got, use Aerial ace!" commanded Brock.
"WHAT?!" shouted Ash and the others.
Crobat started moving fast and being covered in white streaks it flew fast and went up and then down and struck Primeape dealing major damage and sending it skating across the field.
"Primeape!" Mike shouted.
Primeape felt pain from the attack but it wasn't going down easily.
"Primeape counterattack with Thunderbolt!" Mike yelled.
"Primeape smashed it's fists together and fired a blast of electricity towards Crobat.
"Nice try but Crobat use double team!" Countered Brock.
"Crobat!" it shouted as it made copies of itself the thunderbolt only took out the fake one.
"Primeape use thunderbolt on all of them!" Mike said.
Prime did so and took them out but the real Crobat was gone.
"Where did it go?" Mike pondered.
Primeape looked around and it didn't Crobat was above it.
"Got you." Said Brock. "Crobat use sludge bomb!"
Crobat then releases globs of brown sludge at the opponent from its mouth and it hit Primeape dead on.
Then a purple mark came across Primeape's face as dark purple bubbles came from its body.
"Oh no Primeape got Poisoned!" Mike said in shock.
Primeape felt its strength getting zapped away from the poison.
"Good Job Crobat now use Sludge Bomb again!" said Brock.
Crobat fired another round of sludge bomb at Primeape.
"Primeape use thunderbolt to stop it!" Mike said.
Primeape launched another thunderbolt and stopped the attack but felt its strength getting drained more.
"Now use Rock Slide!" Mike ordered.
Primeape was then glowing brown and rocks came from above and heading towards Crobat.
"Crobat dodge it!" said Brock.
Crobat moved as fast as it could and avoided some of them but still got hit by the attack taking some damage in the process.
"Hang on Crobat!" Brock said worried.
Crobat groaned as it tried to stay in the air but it was becoming clear that it was starting to get tired and the same can be said for Primeape.
Everyone can see that both Pokémon were getting worn out and it was going to come down to the last few attacks but of them remain determine to win.
"Primeape move in and use Mega Punch!" said Mike.
Primeape gather its energy and charge towards Crobat with its fist glowing white.
"Crobat use double team again!" Brock said.
Crobat then made copies of itself again and surrounded Primeape making it stop its attack.
"Now Mike's in for it now." Chuckled Dante.
"Aerial Ace!" said Brock.
All the Crobat's moved fast and covered in white streaks and the real one hit Primeape dealing damage and all the copies vanished.
"Primeape use thunderbolt!" shouted Mike.
Primeape gather its energy one more time and fired the attack.
"Crobat dodge and use Supersonic!" said Brock.
Crobat dodge the attack and then releases multiple thin, light-blue sound waves from its mouth at Primeape making it hold its ears in pain.
"Now use Wing Attack!" Brock followed.
Crobat flew fast and hit Primeape with its wings sending it flying.
"Primeape no!" Mike shouted.
"Now finish it off with Aerial Ace!" Brock ordered.
"CRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!" it shouted as it flew towards Primeape covered in white streaks and slammed into Primeape sending it crashing down on the field hard.
When the dust settled Primeape was out and its eyes were in a spiral pattern.
Koichi then raised his left hand and said "Primeape is unable to battle, Crobat is the winner. Which mean victory goes to Brock!"
"All Right we did it Crobat!" Brock said as he jumped for joy.
"Crobat Cro!" Crobat said happily as it went to its trainer.
"Primeape are you ok?" Mike asked as he went over to check on it.
Primeape groaned in response.
"You did well buddy and put up a good fight, here have a Pecha berry." Mike said handing the fruit to it and Primeape took it and ate it to cure itself of the poison.
"Looks like we still have a bit more to go, but we'll get there, but for now Primeape return and get a good long rest." Mike said.
"Primeape!" it said as it was returned to its PokéBall.
Ash and the others got up and congratulated Brock on his victory and Crobat as well.
"Nice job Brock!" said Ash.
"Yeah you really managed to swoop in a win!" added May.
"I never thought Crobat was able to do those moves." Max commented.
"Well Crobat was looked after with my family so it probably learn a few things while I was away right Crobat?" said Brock.
"Crobat!" it answered.
Brock then pulled out its PokéBall.
"You fought hard Crobat now get a good long rest." Said Brock.
Crobat nodded and return to its ball.
"Well Brock you have defeated Mike and as such you now can choose the Pokémon of your choice." Koichi said.
"Thanks and I know which one." Brock answered.
Everyone then went outside and Brock was handed a PokéBall as Hitmonchan stood there waiting.
"Ok then go PokéBall!" Brock said throwing it.
The ball hit Hitmonchan's head and it went inside the ball and it dropped to the ground.
The ball whirred for a couple of seconds while flashing a red light until it stopped flashing one more time and making a chime sound.
Brock went up and picked up the PokéBall.
"Sweet! I got a Hitmonchan!" Brock declared.
Everyone was happy for him.
"So Ash have you decided yet?" asked Koichi.
But before Ash can answered his stomach growled loudly.
"Looks like its lunch time." May said.
"Come we'll have lunch inside the Dojo." Said Koichi.
Everyone followed Koichi back inside for some lunch.
Soon everyone and their Pokémon were eating some lunch and were happy.
May told Koichi and the others about her competing in contests and Ash in the battle frontier and they wished them luck in their journeys.
Soon lunch was done and everyone was full.
"So Ash are you ready?" asked Dante.
"Yes." He answered.
But before they can head back to the main dojo there was a big explosion coming outside.
"What the hell was that?" shouted Dante.
Just then one of the blackbelts came in looking worried.
"Sir something attacked the Dojo!"
"What?! Not on my watch!" Koichi said as he got up and ran straight outside to the scene.
"Come on guys let's go and help!" Ash said getting up.
The others nodded and did so.
And when they got outside they saw that a blue Arbok tank was in the dojo battle grounds.
"That's not Team Rocket guys look there's no red 'R' on it." Dante pointed out.
"If it's not them then who is it?" Max added.
"I think we're going to find out." Finished Ash.
"And they will. Both May and Brock have won their battles got Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan respectively and now it was Ash's turn but they got interrupted by a blue Arbok shaped tank attack the dojo and what they didn't know was the invincible Pokémon brothers driving it and they seek revenge, will they triumph in their vengeance or will our heroes put a stop to that? The answers will come as the journey continues."

Now to explain some things.
I originally intended to keep going but after a bit of stressful shit and I don't want to talk about it, I decided to split this in half to make it easier on me and I don't get burned out and I know that many others writers would've done the same thing.
So in the next chapter Ash and the others faced off against the Invincible Pokémon brothers and well you have to wait and see what's in store for those 3.
Also in the next chapter Ash will face off against the karate master.
Another thing I would like to thank everyone who voted on the poll I had and by a majority, next chapter Ash will get both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, how will be explained in the next chapter.
Also I would like to thank Shiloh 1990 and UltimateCCC for their suggestions thanks guys.
Now I will say this after Ash gets both Pokémon, Dante had to leave the group temporarily because someone called him with some vital info and they want to meet in Celadon City so ch23 will be a Dante focused chapter and this occurs during the events of the 6th Pokémon film but they will meet up again at the Pokémon center nears the battle arena in ch24.
And also I would like to thank Advance Shipper for the answer regarding May's birthday, if you see this thanks.
Now regarding my own take on Mastermind of mirage Pokémon I did a bit digging around and Pikachu didn't fully master Volt Tackle until the green guardian so I will do that after Ash has arrived in Fuchsia city.
Also I did say the list for Ash's harem will be updated in ch25.
