Rina clears her throat, finally getting their attention. "Um, how do you expect me to help you fight Aria, Sol, and Totomaru?" she asks. "I don't have my lipstick with me and I'm not the best fighter…"
"Simple." Akane says. "You have a bunch of Fiore-based knowledge in that head of yours." she says. "With you in the back telling us what each of them can do, Mana and I can protect you and stay alive long enough for Alistair and Jelly to take care of the parents and whatever clone they make." Akane explains. "Or we could overpower them and toss them into Ken." she shrugs.
Mana gasps excitedly, "We're going to fight together? Like, together together?" she asks, practically bouncing in place.
Akane grumbles, ignoring her question and turning to the others. "Does that sound okay to everyone else?" she asks.
Everyone nods.
"Then let's do it. Open the door, Jelly."
Episode 23: Phoenix Fire vs. Fiore's S-Class
Jelly flings the door open and the three blood clones immediately come rushing out.
Mana squeaks when the one with the katana immediately swings at her. She ducks down, summoning her mask and rolling out of the way.
"Which one is which!?" Akane asks as she avoids a punch from the top hat.
"T-The one with the hat is Aria, the skinny one is Sol, and the one with the katana is Totomaru!" Rina answers, narrowly avoiding a barrage of rocks from Blood Sol by hiding behind a column.
Alistair looks at them warily. "You got this?" he asks.
"Go, Alistair." Akane says. "It should be easy enough to take the heads off of three clones made of liquid, right?"
Alistair gives them all one last look before running into the room with Jelly.
"You need to watch out for Aria," Rina calls, still hiding from Blood Sol's barrage of rocks. "He was the leader of The Element Four so not only is he the strongest but his Magic - AIII!" she startles when the column she's using as a shield starts to crack.
"Bladed Hook Shots!"
Rina peeks her head out from behind the pillar and eyes widen when she sees several chains piercing through Blood Sol, the ends digging into the wall on the opposite side of him.
Blood Sol slowly turns his deformed head towards his attacker, Akane, and speaks in a garbled voice: "Non, nOn, noN." it says and turns its body towards Akane. "That won't dO!"
"...Ew." Akane shivers.
Blood Sol aggressively raises its hands, "RoCHe CoNceRTo!" it casts, directing its barrage of rocks towards Akane instead.
Oops. Well, better her than Rina.
Akane puts her arms up to shield herself when she's suddenly tackled to the ground.
"Dark Shield!"
Akane's vision dims and something similar to the sound of hail hitting a window fills her ears.
"Are you okay?"
Akane blinks, registering the weight on her back.
"...Mana?"
"Of course!"
"You couldn't have made the shield a little bit bigger so you're not on top of me?"
"I'm trying to conserve my Magic Power like you and Madelaine and the others taught me! Also, I put one around Rina too, so that's basically the same amount of power, right?" Mana sounds all too cheerful.
Akane sighs.
"That Totomaru guy almost sliced my stomach open several times." Mana says. "I'd really like that to not happen. What do we do?" she asks.
Akane shakes her head, "I…I'm not sure. I thought it would be easy enough to use my chains to throw them over the banister and into Ken but Sol's stupid blood clone looked like it didn't even hurt when I impaled it." she grumbles.
"Well, I doubt they can feel any pain, but maybe Sol didn't move because he has Earth Magic?" Mana suggests. "Maybe he can keep himself implanted in the earth or something - I'm pretty sure these floors are concrete, so…" she shrugs. "What about the other two?"
Akane sighs, thinking. "Before Sol interrupted her, Rina was saying something about Aria being the strongest out of the four." she frowns. "But with all three of them attacking at once, who do we take care of first?" Akane wonders, frustrated. "They're all S-Class level and their strength is boosted because of that stupid Family Blood Magic shit."
Mana hums and being right on top of Akane, the older girl can practically hear the wheels turning in her head.
"...Skeletons are considered, like, dark, right?" Mana asks eventually, an idea forming in her head.
Akane narrows her eyes.
"Oh dear, oh goodness, oh gods," Rina sweats nervously as Mana's shield continues to surround her.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Well, it's probably a good thing because if Mana was dead the shield would no longer be there.
Right?
Rina doesn't know how all this works, she failed Magic school for a reason…several reasons, actually, but that's not the point.
Suddenly, Mana's shield starts to vaporize into Ethernano.
Rina is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
Rina is not cut out for this.
Rina cannot protect herself.
Rina wishes the stupid Skarsguards never intercepted her mother's letters to her.
"Restraining Field!"
Oh.
Rina's friends are not dead.
Rina is okay now.
Rina peeks her head out from behind the pillar once more.
Akane's hands are both flat on the ground and multiple chains are firing up from the ground, restraining the three blood clones. As the clones struggle to break free, the chains appear to get tighter.
Strangely, Blood Sol in particular looks like it's falling apart, blood pooling underneath it.
As Mana explained to Akane before she took the shield down, if pumped with more Magic Power, her shield is capable of bouncing projectiles off itself and back at the attacker. Having been locked in place by Akane's Hook Shots, Blood Sol had no choice but to be repeatedly hit with its own attack.
Akane looks behind her, locking eyes with Mana. "I got them!"
Mana nods and claps her hands together, darkness forming around her hands. She pulls her hands apart, expanding the darkness, and throws it at the ground:
"Skeletal Legionnaire!"
Mana's eyes widen excitedly as the darkness grows and takes shape. It grows taller than both girls and a bit taller than Blood Aria, taking the shape of what looks to be a skeletal lizardman.
"Say it, Akane," Mana beams, turning to look at Akane and give her two thumbs up. "Nice!"
Akane deadpans, "Nice."
"...I'll take it." Mana says and turns back to her skeletal lizardman. She doesn't even have to will it to do what she wants: the skeleton is already trudging over to Blood Sol. It picks up the chained up clone, tosses it over its shoulder, and with the knowledge of what Akane told her about this particular spell, roughly shakes Blood Sol so it struggles against the chains.
Mana runs over to the banister to shout down at Ken: "KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!"
Mana watches as Ken's transformed head looks up at her.
She's still pretty amazed that someone as fastidious and proper as Ken has such a…
'Creepy' Magic? Repulsive? Sloppy?
Mana isn't sure how to describe it exactly.
Akane says Ken calls it Swamp Monster Magic. Using this, he can transform his entire body into a black mass, adopting the form of a humanoid monster whose distinctive features are a toothless mouth and empty sockets. Ken can grow in size, acquiring more mass, or decrease in size by removing mass. Physical attacks become almost useless against him as he is essentially liquid.
Being that he is essentially liquid, the others were hoping that they can dispose of the clones by melting them into Ken.
Now, there's only one way to find out if it'll work.
"HEADS UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!"
Mana's skeletal lizardman tosses Blood Sol over the banister.
Somehow, Mana can tell that Ken isn't exactly pleased with what they're obviously trying to do.
But, nonetheless, Blood Sol makes contact with Ken and slowly sinks into its black sludge before disappearing completely.
Ken is only two floors below them now. It won't be long before he's at the top floor and taking the Skarsguards prisoner and this whole thing can be over with.
"MANA!"
Mana whips around at the sound of Akane's shriek and comes face to face with Blood Totomaru, the clone standing up and still struggling against its chains.
Just as Akane had said, the more they struggle against the chains, the tighter the chains will become.
And right now, Blood Totomaru's, well, blood is steadily pooling out from between the chains as they squeeze it tighter.
It's also on fire.
Red Fire, specifically.
That's why Akane screamed like that.
"FLame MaiL…"
And Blood Totomaru starts closing the distance, rushing at her.
Fortunately, the skeletal lizardman thinks faster than Mana can move and it throws Blood Totomaru against the wall. It slides down the wall, leaving a trail of blood behind as it does so.
Akane adds some extra chains to the remaining two clones - just in case, of course.
"They're slowly falling apart," Akane realizes and glances at the room Alistair and Jelly are currently battling in. The telltale sounds of battlecries and furniture hitting the walls are still very much present so that means their fight isn't over yet.
Akane turns to the column Rina is hiding behind, "You can come out now, Rina." she says.
Rina pokes her head out from behind the column.
"Now, what were you saying about Aria?" Akane asks.
Mana, listening, pokes a dazed Blood Totomaru with her foot.
"R-Right." Rina nods, clearing her throat. "Um, Aria's Magic, right? I got it confused, it's not Wind Magic, it's a variation of Air Magic - something called Airspace." she corrects herself.
Mana pouts. "So my wind can't cancel out his…?" she mumbles to herself. She takes her mask off, wiping the sweat off her brow as the mask vaporizes in her hand. "Boo." Mana pouts as the lizardman vaporizes along with her mask.
"It's very, very dangerous." Rina says seriously. "Despite Aria's Magic Power being nowhere near that of a Wizard Saint, Airspace's spells still brought an immensely powerful Wizard Saint to the brink of death." she warns. "However, because none of us three aren't quite near S-Class, it shouldn't hurt us too badly. Its damage is based on the target's Magic Power, meaning the more Magic Power the target has, the more they'll suffer." Rina explains.
Akane frowns, glancing at Mana. "Meaning there's a chance he'll bring Mana to the brink of death." she says.
Mana puffs her cheeks.
Akane rolls her eyes. "Don't make that face. It's like Emile's been saying, we don't know if you were some kind of 'super soldier' or whatever for Revenant Beats. For all we know-" she stops, frowning again. Akane slides her hands along the floor, the blood draining from her face.
Rina and Mana exchange a worried look.
"Akane?" Mana calls, slowly approaching her. "What's wrong?"
"...I lost Aria." Akane says quietly, staring at the floor.
Mana pales. "What do you mean you 'lost' Aria?"
Akane grits her teeth. "That stupid clone figured out the trick to get free." she says, turning to look at Mana. "My chains don't have it any-"
The hairs on the back of Mana's neck stand up at the look of sheer terror on Akane's face.
"A-Akane-?"
Blood Aria's voice sounds the most put together out of the three Element Four clones they've heard speak: "Airspace-"
Faster than Mana can blink, Akane jumps up and shoves her to the side, pushing her so forcefully she's sent rolling across the entire hall.
"Metsu!"
Mana crashes into the wall on the opposite side of the hall. She groans painfully at the impact, and opens her eyes to see Blood Aria standing behind Akane, its open palms facing each other and poised above her. Magic circles appear next to Blood Aria's hands and on the ground below Akane.
A…ka…ne…?
Akane stares at Mana's horrified face in shock, like she can't believe what she just did either.
The circle below Akane lights up in the next second and Akane is trapped in what Mana is guessing is the 'airspace' and her pained screams start resounding throughout the open floor as she's drained of her Magic.
The rumbling below them gets stronger, as if Ken started growing his monstrous form faster.
Mana feels something dark stirring in her chest and equally as dark thoughts start swirling around in her head.
Mary stutters, M-Mana, don't-
I'm fine. Mana snaps, shaking her head as she pushes the thoughts away and struggles to her feet. I have to…Akane…
By the Goddess, did Akane really have to throw her that harshly?
Blood Aria, without even sparing her a glance, extends a hand in Mana's direction.
"Airspace: Zetsu."
Mana hears the odd sound of what sounds like something popping get gradually louder (and presumably closer) - and then she's screaming as invisible airspaces throw her back and forth as they explode on her body.
When it's finally over, she's thrown to the ground.
A few of the airspaces that exploded near Mana's head and knocked Mary out again several explosions ago. Fortunately, Mana knows how to take a beating so she's still mostly conscious. Unfortunately, Mana can't move her arms or legs.
Mana groans. She weakly turning her head to witness the end of Akane's torture and the older girl falling to the ground, unmoving.
Behind her, Mana sees a terrified and crying Rina being cornered by Blood Totomaru, a ball of Rainbow Fire in its hand..
Try as she may, Mana can't even begin to crawl over to either of them.
"Akane…Rina…" Mana cries.
Suddenly, there's a gust of oddly familiar heat filling the entire hall.
And then everything goes black.
Earlier…
Alistair looks at them warily. "You got this?" he asks.
"Go, Alistair." Akane says. "It should be easy enough to take the heads off of three clones made of liquid, right?"
Alistair gives them all one last look before running into the room with Jelly.
When the two enter the room, the situation looks pretty much the same. Behind the Lord and Lady Skarsguard, all three Skarsguard heirs have finally fallen unconscious; but as Rina said, that doesn't stop their proximity to each other from boosting their Family Blood Magic.
"Shut the door, Jelly." Alistair orders as he locks eyes with Mr. and Mrs. Skarsguard, looking between them. "Well? Out with it, I know you have enough for at least one more clone. Let's get this over with." he sneers. "The less blood you have, the weaker you are. The weaker you are, the easier it'll be to take you and your brats prisoner."
Mr. and Mrs. Skarsguard abide by Alistair's wish and wordlessly cut deeper into their hands.
Alistair and Jelly watch as their blood pools together in front of them. It grows up from the ground and takes the malformed shape of a masculine figure with long, wild hair.
"Zancrow of the infamous Dark Guild, Grimoire Heart." Lady Skarsguard says.
"Unlike the Element Four," Lord Skarsguard says. "Zancrow committed great evils when he was alive," he says. "A true villain."
Lady Skarsguard glowers at Alistair and Jelly. "And now his power will put you down once and for all." she says. "A Flame God Slayer. You cannot win."
Alistair frowns. "A Flame God Slayer. Were your eyes and ears closed earlier? I have Water Magic, old bag. My water may be hot but it's still water. Fire burns, water puts it out." he says as Blood Zancrow takes a deep breath in. "That better be fire coming out of its mouth and not blood." Alistair says, crinkling his nose.
"FiRE GoD's BeLLOw!"
Small embers of black fire peek out of Blood Zancrow's mouth, making Alistair breathe a quiet sigh of relief. Then Blood Zancrow releases it, breathing a stream of black fire at Alistair. The latter notices something off as soon as the fire leaves Blood Zancrows mouth and instead of retaliating, he spreads his arms out, creating a barrier of water between Blood Zancrow and himself - blocking the fire from hitting both himself and Jelly and the wall leading to Mana, Akane, and Rina.
Alistair grits his teeth, still holding up the barrier as the breath attack slowly dies out, and thinks as fast as he can.
The power of a God Slayer and its power is being boosted just because this creepy family is near each other…I just need to get their kids away from them. I don't stand a chance otherwise.
"Jelly!" Alistair says. "You're a strong guy, right?"
"'Course I am!"
"Think you can carry three full grown adults clear across town and stay there until one of us comes for you?"
Jelly salutes him. "Anythin' for Akane's friends!" he says with a dreamy look on his face.
Alistair narrows his eyes.
"You know you're going to get arrested when this is all over, right?"
"But o'course!" Jelly nods eagerly. "I've seen the light, I have, and that light is-"
"Just go." Alistair deadpans, releasing the water barrier.
Jelly gets right to work - but not before running at Blood Zancrow and hitting it with his hammer, sending the clone flying through the wall of the room the Lord and Lady Skarsguard were wheeled out of. He runs past the parents and with another swing from his hammer, smashes a hole in the wall that leads to the outside.
Scooping up Marcel, Eva, and Nicholas in his arms and bidding one last 'see ya later' to Alistair, Jelly jumps out of the building.
Just as he does, Blood Zancrow climbs out from under the rubble and lets out a garbled laugh. "UhAhahAHa!" it cackles. "Was thAt suPpOsED to HurT?"
Lord and Lady Skarsguard look very annoyed at having their children taken away but they don't make any move to stop Jelly or go after him.
'They're in a wheelchair, Alistair.' the sensible part of Alistair tells himself.
'They could use Zancrow to wheel them to their spawn.' the smartass part of Alistair argues.
"Tch. Do they really want to kill me that badly…?" Alistair says to himself. "Or is it that they want-?"
"EyES oN ME!" Blood Zancrow shouts and spreads its arms out, both coated in his black flames. "FiRe GoD's SUPpEr!"
Alistair's eyes widen when each hand's flames grow into one half of a jaw and swiftly close in around him as Blood Zancrow clasps its hands together in a mouth-shaped attack. Alistair cries out in pain as he becomes trapped in spherically-shaped black flames.
Blood Zancrow laughs again, "OnCE yOu're ENgULfEd iN tHeSe flAmes, iT's oVEr…" it says dangerously. "YOu Won't GEt oUT uNtil YOu're ASHES!"
Alistair screams and Blood Zancrow only laughs harder.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
"ThAt'S riGHt! ScReaM sOmE MoRE! UAhAhaHahahA!"
Alistair grits his teeth, shakily trying to maneuver his burning arms towards the ground.
"BURN!"
Alistair screams as he pushes through the pain, facing an open palm towards the ground. "H-HYDRO BOOST!" he yells.
Blood Zancrow's eyes widen as pillars of water rise up from the ground and push Alistair up out of its attack's jaw.
Alistair douses himself in water as he rises to the ceiling, putting out the flames on what remains of his clothes. He jumps up and flips himself around so he can kick off the ceiling: "Water Slide!" Alistair casts, falling towards Blood Zancrow even faster. He drops down on Blood Zancrow with a water boosted drop kick and slides across the room with its body, crashing it into the rubble Jelly created earlier.
Alistair's about to attempt to end the clone with one final attack when he hears a chorus of pained screams coming from outside the room, making him freeze.
Akane?
Blood Zancrow takes advantage of Alistair's distractedness and kicks him backwards. It jumps back to its feet and spreads its arms and legs: "FiRe GOd'S KaGutSuCHI!"
Alistair puts his arms up to defend himself as Blood Zancrow pushes him back with the ball of black flames surrounding it. He yells as the flames burn him and he sticks out one of his arms, struggling to pinpoint Blood Zancrow in the flurry of flames.
I have to end this quickly and knock out the parents-
…Huh?
"MANA!" comes Rina's shrill voice.
When the screaming seems to get louder, Alistair registers Mana's voice as having joined the horrific ensemble and he steels his resolve.
I'm stronger this time and I'm here. I won't lose anyone ever again. Alistair tells himself and sticks out both arms: "WATER WHIP!"
Water thickly coats itself over both of Alistair's arms, creating long, octopus-like tentacles. He pumps a little more Magic power in them to extend their reach and-
"Got you." Alistair hisses and wraps the tentacles around Blood Zancrow, clenching his fists and tightening the tentacles around its body. Blood Zancrow's attack extinguishes, giving Alistair some relief and more energy. "Die, damn it!" he screams, picking Blood Zancrow up and slamming it against the wall.
His eyes widen when Blood Zancrow starts dripping, almost as if it were melting.
Jelly's finally getting a good distance away. Alistair smirks. It's not dripping a lot per se but progress is progress.
Alistair transfers Blood Zancrow into one tentacle and turns his attention to Mr. and Mrs. Skarsguard - both of whom are now finally showing a little anxiety that they might not get away with this.
"What'd I tell you?" Alistair sneers. "Fire burns, water puts it out." he repeats and snatches both elderly people up in his free tentacle. Alistair gives the pair a dangerous smile, "Undo the damn blood clones if you want to see your children again in this life." he threatens.
"FiRE GoD's BeLLOw!"
Alistair's head snaps towards Blood Zancrow.
Shit.
And a little earlier than that…
A woman frowns as she stands in front of the tall, quaking building.
"Stupid brats can't stay still when I leave them alone for a month…" she grumbles as she strides up to the entrance. "Stupid, stupid, stupid…stupid me for agreeing to the stupid Magic Council's tests…ugh."
She kicks the door open, unsurprised but a little annoyed to see a giant black mass in the middle of the room. "KEN! You got yourself into this mess, too!?" she demands as she stalks up to the giant, monstrous creature.
She watches as Ken turns his head down to look at her, his eyeless sockets growing wider. "...Master Nadine?"
Nadine Septim glares up at him. "What in the Goddess' name is going on here, Ken?"
Before either can say anything else, horrifyingly pained screams come from the top floor.
Without another word, Ken lowers his giant hand for Nadine to step onto and places her on the top of his head. With that, he starts to grow faster - but not fast enough. As the two get closer to the top floor, another voice joins the screaming and Nadine is pretty sure she heard Rina's voice screaming Mana's name.
Once his form is tall enough, Nadine jumps up off of his head, expertly landing on the top floor.
Akane dropping to the floor in front of some sort of bloody figure, Mana already collapsed on the floor, and Rina being cornered by a similar looking figure.
Nadine narrows her eyes, spotting white particles leaving Akane's unconscious body.
She snaps her fingers, "Agni."
A slightly larger than average sized bird forms on Nadine's hand and it flies towards the particles, absorbing them into its body.
Nadine turns her attention to the two bloody figures, holding her arm out towards them. "Pele."
Magic circles appear below both figures, trapping them behind an invisible wall. Both circles light up and erupt into a violent inferno and the figures let out garbled screams that gradually get quieter and quieter until the hall is filled with nothing but the sound of Ken shaking the entire building. Then, the walls of fire die out, revealing nothing but a scorched floor.
Rina's head whips to the side, shock and relief on her face and tear-stained cheeks. "M-Master!" she beams. Then she frowns, "How…why…?"
Nadine shakes her head as the bird lands on her outstretched arm. She approaches Akane, kneeling down and muttering another spell under her breath, making the bird glow white for a moment. "Come, help me turn her over." Nadine orders.
Rina nods, scurrying over to Nadine and together they roll Akane over onto her back. Nadine gently places the bird on Akane's chest and a second later, it melts into her, restoring a bit of color to Akane's pale cheeks.
Nadine stands up and turns her attention to an unconscious Mana, walking over to her. "Whatever that thing did to Akane completely drained her Magic Power from her." she says as she checks over Mana's injuries. "Fortunately it was still hanging around in the air around her. Had I been any slower in arriving, it would've ultimately dissipated into nothing and Akane's recovery would've been much slower." Nadine says and lets out a sigh of relief. "Just as fortunately, it seems Mana wasn't hit with the same spell." she says as she scoops the girl up in her arms and places her next to Akane. "Now, what about you? Are you hurt?" Nadine asks Rina.
Rina shakes her head, a guilty look on her face. "No…Akane and Mana protected me." she says.
Nadine smiles gently and pats Rina on the head. "Wipe that look off your face." she orders. "Whatever happened here is not your fault." Nadine says, standing up. "Stay here and make sure Ken's destruction doesn't hurt Akane and Mana. I'll put your mark back on once I take care of this…situation."
Rina frowns and confusedly blinks back tears. "My…mark?" she wonders as Nadine walks into the room Alistair and Jelly are supposed to be fighting in.
Shit.
Alistair screws his eyes shut, waiting for the impact.
…
…
…
"Alistair Bickerstaff, why are you basically naked?"
Alistair opens his eyes, gasping when he sees Nadine standing in front of the now open door, her hand up and redirecting Blood Zancrow's fire towards the hole in the wall Jelly escaped out of with the Skarsguard heirs.
"M-Master-!" Alistair blinks.
Nadine pinches the bridge of her nose. "Never mind that." she says and crosses her arms when Blood Zancrow's fire dies out. "Who are these people?"
"The parents of Rina's stalker-"
"Ah." Nadine stops him, her expression darkening. "Rina told me the story when she first joined Phoenix Fire." she says and smiles sadistically at the now cowering couple. "I'm a Fire Mage and as I heard when I walked in, this thing is a Fire God Slayer so my fire can't hurt it. And as you saw when I walked in, I can also control its fire. If you want me to get rid of it by using it to burn you alive, I will. Otherwise," Nadine lights her hand on fire, still smiling. "Get rid of it."
Nadine, Alistair, and Rina step to the side as Ken's sludgy arm reaches into the room and grabs the tied up Skarsguard parents. "Keep them with you until I return with their children and…what was his name?" Nadine asks, turning to Alistair and Rina.
"Jelly." Alistair and Rina say in unison.
"Right…" Nadine says. "When I return, I'll reapply your guild mark, Rina." she says and jumps out of the hole in the side of the building.
Alistair and Rina sigh and slide down the wall, exhausted.
Ken's eyeless sockets, just barely visible over the banister, seem to bore into Alistair.
"...What?" Alistair deadpans.
"...You ruined my suit." Ken says. "And then the girls came up with the brilliant plan of having this form absorb some kind of blood clone. I'm going to be covered in blood when I shift back." he says, unamused and displeased. "And I won't have the comfort of my own clothes to make me feel better."
Rina smiles sheepishly, "I'm sorry." she apologizes and gestures to the still unconscious girls in front of them. "But look! They worked hard, so don't be too tough on them, okay?" Rina asks sweetly.
Alistair and Rina think Ken tries to sigh but in his transformed state it sounds like some sort of growl. Either way, he doesn't say anything else.
"How did Master know we were here?" Rina asks after a minute. "She didn't seem surprised to find us here." she wonders, absentmindedly touching her thigh where her guild mark used to be.
Akane grits her teeth. "Bullshit that's not an issue, your brother is a crazy obsessed fuckhead who ran her out of Fiore in the first place!" she snaps. "Rina doesn't belong to you and she wants nothing to do with your freakshow of a family! She's a member of Phoenix Fire and we're taking her and Mana home."
The woman raises an eyebrow and reaches down, pulling the left leg of Rina's shorts up slightly. "Rina is no longer a member of Phoenix Fire. We took care of that - although it was very hard to take off. Is your guild mark perhaps enchanted by any chance?"
Alistair and Akane go rigid, their eyes widening.
"How dare you." Alistair says clenching his fist.
Alistair yawns, "No one told you when you first joined?" he asks. "Master puts some kind of Magic into the guild mark. That's why she likes to apply it herself." Alistair explains. "I don't know what kind of Magic exactly but whatever it is must've alerted her when that woman erased your guild mark," he says.
"Ooo," Rina hums. "I see." she says thoughtfully. "That explains why Emile said Calypso needed to get her mark redone by Master when she gets back."
…
…
…
Rina looks over at Alistair, "So what now?"
"Wait here and wait to see who finds us first: Victoria and Yuki or Master and Jelly."
Ken sticks Lord and Lady Skarsguard in his head, leaving them poking out like horns. His mouth makes a horrifying smile that's so ugly it's almost cute.
Alistair deadpans, "Not funny."
Ken flicks some black sludge at him.
Rina sighs and closes her eyes, resting. "Both of you shut up, that drug they used on me earlier is starting to make my head hurt now that the adrenaline is gone."
Alistair huffs, "Whatever. Take a nap, I'll wake you up when Master gets back."
