Author's Notes: Sorry for long update wait. Hit a few roadblocks with story and needed some time (a lot of time, if the previous update says anything) and now I'm going to update this story. Also, for those who have read my other stories, I am sorry for their long delays and I will try to get past their blocks and update them.

Chapter 18: Betrayal

Three Weeks Later; Robotnik Vehicle Depot...

Sonic, Tails, Antoine, and TD are seen on an overlook overlooking the vehicle depot. During the three weeks, TD had slowly gotten used to him now being a real living being but it still freaked him out, especially the three hearts.

*Story interrupted*

"Oi! What's wrong with multiple hearts?!" said a ticked off Doctor Who before he got punted out of the story.

"Okay, we need to plant these explosives without setting off any alarms and then get out. The security iz too extreme even for you Sonic." said Antoine.

"How bad could it be?" said Sonic with his usual level of arrogance and Antoine tosses a feather into a security and within seconds, over five million plasma rounds are fired at it and the feather is reduced to molecular dust.

Sonic gulps nervously.

"See? Not even you could escape those lazers."

"We could try to disable the security." said TD as he looked through infrared binoculars and saw a heat source that belonged to a power generator.

"That could work." said Sonic.

"Does anybody else have a bad feeling about this whole thing?" said Tails as he scanned the entire structure and found not a single active robot inside it, only active machinery and defenses.

"Come on Tails, what could possibly go wrong?" said Sonic shrugging and Tails and TD face-palm.

"Why did you just say that?" asked TD in annoyance and Sonic shrugs again.

"Let us just get this over with hmm?" said Antoine in annoyance as he shouldered the bomb pack they had brought with.

"I still have a bad feeling." said Tails getting up and following Antoine.

Ten Minutes Later...

*Alarms Blare*

"I thought we disabled the alarms!" said Tails and Antoine shrugs.

"I'll activate the bombs, the rest of you get out of here!" said TD grabbing the explosives from Antoine and Sonic nodded before grabbing Tails and Antoine and zooming out of the facility as TD set to work.

After a few minutes of getting the bombs into place, TD dug through the pack to find the timer but instead found something else.

"What's this? Antoine said these were time bombs unless...oh no...he didn't!" said TD turning around as...

Meanwhile; with Sonic, Tails, and Antoine...

"What's taking him so long?" said Sonic tapping his foot on the ground impatiently and looking at an imaginary watch on his wrist.

"Sonic, setting time bombs takes...well, time." said Tails.

"Not quite." said Antoine pulling out a detonator and pressing it down and the whole facility erupts into a fiery explosion, "That iz one threat taken care of."

"A threat?! You think TD was a threat?!" said Tails angrily before Antoine jabbed him with an EMP Tazer and Tails fell to the ground, deactivated.

"Antoine! Why'd you do that to him?!" yelled Sonic.

"He iz a machine Sonic! He iz not alive!" said Antoine sternly.

"Not alive? NOT ALIVE?! He bleeds you moron! He is alive despite being a machine!"

"It iz all artificial. All that stuff he says he can do iz fake. It iz better if he was programmed to just take out Robotnik and end this stupid war."

"Have you gone off the deep end Antoine?! You can't just do that to him!"

"I can and I will!"

"You've gone too far this time Ant!"

"You are letting your emotions get in ze way of ze mission Sonic."

"At least I have emotions!"

"Your point?"

"You're going to turn my little bro into some mindless drone just to end a war and you think I'm going to let you do that? You got another thing comin' windbag!"

"I think not." said Antoine before he shot Sonic with a tranquilizer dart and the blue hedgehog fell to the ground unconscious almost instantly, "You're just another threat waitin' to snap Sonic. So...au revoir hedgehog."

Antoine then kicked Sonic's unconscious body into a nearby river and dragged Tails away from the area.

"Maybe I should have had Rotor help me. Tails weighs a ton!" muttered Antoine to himself unaware of a red-furred claw erupting from the ruins of the destroyed vehicle depot before it slowly clenched shut and a red glow can be seen through some of the cracks in the debris.
