He was alone on a beach, calmly watching the waves swirl on the sand, a light breeze hitting his skin and brushing lonely strands from his face.
Suddenly, he began to hear faint murmurs, whispering voices speaking words in a language he didn't understand. It seemed that the environment was reacting to these murmurs, breaking the calm of the beach.
The sound grew louder and louder as the climate began to change, the waves becoming more and more violent and the light breeze becoming strong winds that blew the sand in all directions.
As it became difficult to stand, the voices became even more aggressive but seemed to coalesce into one, the words no longer sounding like gibberish and starting to sound clearer.
The storm seemed to be reaching its peak as he felt his body rise into the air. Percy was panicking, swinging his feet and hands to try to escape the winds. He felt like his eardrums were about to explode as the sound became unbearable.
The beach suddenly quieted, as he fell face first to the ground. His heart was beating at a maddening pace, the panic not having completely left him. He raised his head with a groan and looked ahead in surprise.
Laying there at the edge of the beach was a white orb that floated in the air and let out soft ethereal rays of light and an indescribable feeling of warmth and comfort. He approached and while holding his hand towards her absorbed almost obsessed by this miracle which had just appeared before him. He touched it and he felt enveloped in warmth as his body processed it, absorbed it. And as he felt himself waking up he heard a gentle voice say to him "May your enemies fall before your blade, but more importantly may your allies stand faithfully by your side. Rise, Perseus Jackson and show yourself worthy".
I jolted awake in my bed, the memories of the dream still fresh in my mind. My heart was beating unusually fast and sweat was running all over my body. I took a few moments to calm myself before checking the clock next to my bed. '7:00 am'. I wanted to get some more sleep, but knew I couldn't after that. Let's just say I was familiar with nightmares.

I blinked once. Then two. Nothing.

I rubbed my eyes then looked right and left.
Still nothing.
Yeah, I'm going crazy. Are all those years of math at school finally catching up to me? Or was it English? Maybe I was still dreaming and at any moment I was going to wake up, but my instincts were telling me otherwise...that and I was pinching my leg hard enough to even wake Grover on an Enchiladas overdose.
I lay back on my bed and closed my eyes tightly. 'I am not going crazy. Everything is fin. I'll just open my eyes and that thing will just disappear'. And it did, it has not there anymore.
'Meh', I was almost disappointed after all who wouldn't dream of having superpowers that would make them live like in a video game? Not Mitch anyway, I swear this guy hasn't taken a shower in 2 months.
Maybe it was the feeling in my gut, or maybe just the crazy part of me that took over, but I wanted to see it through and asked myself: 'What do all the RPGs I've played have in common?' And then it clicked...

I passed my hand over the writing in front of me making it disappear. I said "Status" again and it came back. It was really happening.
It was-
"SO COOL!" I exclaimed out loud, momentarily forgetting Grover who was still sleeping in the other bed.
I need to be more discreet, after all I don't want people to think I'm crazy. And then, as much as I trust Grover, I feel like this is something I have to keep secret, you never know what could happen.
I may seem calm and even find it pretty awesome and all, but in reality I was panicking. What is happening to me is not normal, it was something that went beyond anything I could have believed before. The signs were there, all my life I saw and did things that were not normal. Like that time I strangled a snake that climbed onto my bed at daycare. Let's just say that I had changed schools the moment my mother saw me handing her the corpse of the poor dead thing at the tips of my pudgy fingers. Or that time I saw this really big guy trying to put 6 hot dogs in his mouth at once. Well, the guy was also almost 10 feet tall and only had one eye so...
I'm getting out of topic. Focus Percy, focus. Let's see what else I have in there.

That would certainly explain why we didn't collapsed when he saw his status appearing.
Monsters, battles, quests… He was going to fight. If he had to guess, the fact that the name of his father was hidden as well as the boost he got only for being his son was an obvious sign that, somehow this whole story had something to do with him.
Conclusion? He had to discover who his father was.

I suddenly got excited. I was about to discover who my father is! It is also my first quest so I it was a pretty exciting moment. I pressed YES and the message disappeared.
I then looked at the clock and it was saying '7:50'. Shit!
"Grover, wake up! We're going to be late!" The satyr grumbled in his sleep. To say he wasn't a morning person would be an understatement.
After all, with all this craziness, I still need to get the school done. Otherwise, mom will probably kill me. Or I'll be fired, and well mum will also kill me.
Somewhere in the universe, a being was silently observing the scene. He had observed it for a long time, as he had done for many others before him. But Perseus...it was him, the one he had been looking for so long. He only hoped that he would be strong enough to accomplish what needed to be accomplished.
The die is cast.

Hi everyone! This is officially the first chapter of my first fanfiction ever. I wrote this on a whim and I hope you like it.
The first few chapters may make the story seem like just another Percy Jackson/The Game fanfiction but I promise I'll try to be as original as possible. After all otherwise I would have just copied what others had done..
I would also like to thank I'mjusttryingtofindmyway and Maroon Smoke whose stories really inspired me to want to write my own. After all, the PJO universe is already vast and with The Game powers...sky is really your only limit.
