What's a teen drama without a Homecoming scene? Right?

Also, I feel like I haven't worked/posted in a while(more than just a month), just because I didn't work on this chapter or the next one this month since they were already written (I had written them before writing the last chapter).

Anyway, hope you all enjoy this chapter!

-October 29th-

"Why not?" Khloe leaned back in her stool to put her hands on her hips, CJ's comment offending her. "The Homecoming game is different than the normal games."

While waiting for the announcement for students and teachers to head to the Gym for the Pep Rally, the girls were trying to get CJ to come to the Homecoming game but nothing was convincing her.

"The only difference is the whole Homecoming Court stuff," CJ said, not bothering looking up from her drawing.

Izzy gave up, turning her attention back to her phone. While, Wynter and Khloe continued to persuade CJ by telling her about the marching band performance, the half decent concession stand food and how the game was a rival match between Sheffield and Trinity High.

"And I think we all should be in one area," Wynter said, looking at each of the girls. "Just in case something happens."

"Well, when you put it that way," CJ mumbled, closing her sketch pad.

Khloe threw her arm up. "That's all it took to get you to come."

CJ rolled her eyes as Izzy and Dakota laughed at Khloe's dramatic gesture.

Shortly after, the announcement for students and teachers to head to the gym came much to the students excitement; allowing them to miss classes for the day.

Wynter, Dakota, Izzy and CJ sat up in the corner of the gymnasium bleachers watching Khloe and the rest of the cheerleaders finish up the cheer routine before the drumline took the floor and the cheerleaders sat together in the stands.

"No Isaac?" Izzy asked, leaning back into CJ's space, watching Dakota's face at the mention of her crush.

"Nah, he rather miss school than sit and watch a pep rally," CJ replied, playing along with Izzy. "But if he knew he would sit near a certain someone, he probably would've came."

"Maybe you should text him about the current situation," the Fire Guardian teased, even nudging CJ's leg with her elbow.

"Knock it off," Dakota grumbled, pushing the two laughing girls.

"But seriously, I can give you his number," CJ said, bumping a still laughing Izzy with her knee. "I know he wouldn't mind if you texted him."

"Really?" Dakota asked, shyly as she picked at her phone case.

CJ nodded, motioning her phone towards Dakota.

However, before the exchange could happen, Wynter grabbed their attentions and directed it to Khloe at the gym doors, telling them to come.

"Something's wrong," Wynter stated as she got up, the others following. "Khloe just sent me a text saying a member of the Order is here."

"Did she say who?" Dakota asked when they got passed the teachers at the door.

Wynter shook her head. "But she thinks it's Vixen."

"It's been a month since see last saw any of them," CJ said, once they met up with Khloe. "Why show up now? And why only one of them?"

"And how did them know about Sheffield?" Khloe questioned, leading them to where she saw the person.

"Tig said they've were watching us," Dakota answered, voice stressed. "And by the sound of it, it sounded like they were watching for some time before the first encounter."

"That's creepy," Izzy shuttered at the thought of being watched.

Khloe led them to the hallway with the art room, a large shadow from the room catching their eyes. Silently, the girls made their way down to the room before hearing the familiar voices of Mrs. Lin and Vixen.

"Denying wouldn't get you anywhere," Vixen's voice drifted out, angry and annoyed. "It'll only get you killed."

"Not if we can help it," Wynter interrupted, stepping in the room quickly followed by the others.

Vixen rolled her eyes. "Ugh, you are always ruining everything!"

"That's one of the best parts about this gig," Izzy snickered, leaning an arm against the door frame.

"Whatever," Vixen said, waving her hand at the girls before a shadow portal was created under her, sucking her through.

Once the portal was closed, the girls made sure their teacher was okay.

"I was coming back to get my phone when she just showed up asking for something," Mrs. Lin told them. "But she didn't say what she wanted."

"Whatever it was, she didn't get it so that's good," Wynter said, the others nodding in agreement. "And we're glad you are okay."

"Thanks to you. Now let's get you back to the pep rally."

CJ groaned. "Can't we just stay here?"

Various forms of 'no' echoed around her as she was pushed out of the room.

-Homecoming Game-

"Khloe! Focus!" Said girl snapped her attention back to the cheer, finishing the touchdown cheer.

Afterwards, Hannah pulled her away to the edge of the group.

"What's going on with you?" Hannah held up a fresh manicured nail for each point. "First, the pep rally disappearing act. Then getting distracted again and it isn't the regular Lincoln distraction, which I know very well what that looks like. Plus, you been hanging out a lot with those dorks and losers since school started. Spill."

"Nothing is going on," Khloe flipped her ponytail, bothered by Hannah calling the others dorks and losers. "I just spaced. It's been a long week, okay?"

Hannah gave her a skeptical look not believing her answer completely. "Then mind telling why you disappeared during the pep rally?"

"I went to the bathroom since I wasn't feeling good." Khloe turned, strutting back to her spot at the center of the group. "Now can we get back to cheering?"

Hannah huffed, irritated but followed, getting back into her spot.

Khloe felt relieved, she already had enough going on with the whole Guardian thing, so she didn't need nor want Hannah questioning her like that again; she was too curious and nosy.

Up in the bleachers, Wynter and Dakota sat, watching the game for the first time.

"I don't see the thrill in coming to one of these things," Wynter stated letting out a huff as she leaned her elbows on her thighs, bored out of her mind.

Dakota, however, wasn't paying attention to the game or her friend; her focus was on the school's bad boy and CJ's cousin, Isaac Cooper. This wasn't the first time she stared at him, after all she did have a massive crush on him; everyone who looked close enough could tell that. She would always tell Wynter that he was misunderstood and all the rumors about him were made up just because of his size.

Wynter rolled her eyes at her best friend, waving a hand in front of Dakota's face, snapping her back to reality by pulling her up. "I bet if Isaac came so did CJ, c'mon let go find her."

The girls started walking around the stadium in search for the Earth Guardian. All the while, Wynter had an uneasy feeling in her stomach that someone was watching them. Usually, she would ignore the feeling since it happened a lot with being so paranoid, but something told her not to push the feeling away. So, she scanned the crowd of students, teachers, and other residents of Heatherfield but she didn't find anything out of the ordinary. At least not until her eyes landed upon a dark figure lurking in the shadows, eyes glowering right at her and Dakota from under the hood he wore. The stare chilled her to the bones.

"Hey Kota?" Wynter latched herself to Dakota's arm.

Dakota heard the fear in her voice. "Yeah?"

"W-who's th-that?" Her finger shook as she pointed out the figure.

"I... I don't know," Dakota croaked.

The two best friends froze in their spot, unable to think or say anything as the man slowly crept towards them.

"Wynter?"

CJ winced at the high pitch unison scream that erupted from the two's mouths. She knew people were staring but, in her defense, she hadn't expected to get that kind of reaction out of them when she tapped Wynter's shoulder. "Shit, what the hell got you two so spooked?"

Both girls were now holding their hands over their hearts, trying to catch their breath while still latched onto each other. Once she caught her breath Wynter said, "There's this creepy man that was watching us."

"Where?" CJ looked around, not finding anyone out of the ordinary. The only stares they were getting were ones of confusion or annoyance but none that would have the two girls acting terrified.

"Over there," Dakota pointed to where the man was previously standing, only to find no one was there. "What the...?"

"We swear there was someone there," Wynter did a 360 before looking at Dakota. "We're not crazy!"

CJ threw her hands up in defense. "Never said you were, I was just coming to find you. I ran into Ms. Lin and she wanted the five of us to meet her in the art room during the 3rd quarter."

Wynter took a few deep breaths to calm herself still scanning the crowd. "For what?"

CJ just shrugged her shoulders. "Probably something about the incidents during school today."

"When's the 3rd quarter?" Dakota then asked, head cocked slightly to the side.

CJ rolled her eyes; the two really didn't know anything about football. "After the halftime performance, which is now," she added before they could ask.

Wynter nodded her head. "I'll go find Izzy while you two stay and watch. I think I saw her in the stands by the marching band."

CJ agreed, telling her to be careful, as Dakota tried to convince her best friend to stay through facial expressions. However, it failed, resulting in Dakota becoming extra awkward next the Earth Guardian.

As Wynter searched for Izzy as fast as she could, Dakota and CJ watched the halftime performance start. First, the cheerleaders took the field, doing a cheer with some modern dance crazes. Then it was the marching band and color guard's turn to grab everyone's attention before the Homecoming Court was announced, Khloe being one of the Queen candidates.

"You know I'm not as scary as you think I am," CJ stated without looking at the fidgeting girl beside her, even though it made her smile.

"Oh... I ... uh... I."

"You're not the only who thinks that." CJ leaned her arms on the fence that separated the audience and the field. "But despite my looks, I'm a pretty chill person just ask Isaac."

Dakota stuttered a bit at the mention of her crush but she chooses to ignore it. "Then, why do you keep away from everyone?"

The dreaded girl beside her inhale then exhales deeply before answering, "Less drama. I just want to get through high school with as little drama as possible."

Nodding in understanding, the Water Guardian leaned on the fence. "I doubt you will with the whole Guardian thing going on now."

CJ snorted. "No shit."

Dakota smiled as she felt her shoulders relax and the two fell into a comfortable silence as halftime was wrapping up.

When the Homecoming Court walked by, Dakota and CJ caught Khloe's stare. They pointed to the school and Khloe got the point just as Wynter came back with Izzy.

"Did you get Khloe?" The leader asked, the two confirming. "Okay let's go meet up with Mrs. Lin."

-Art Room-

"Who has it?!"

But before Hay-Lin could answer she was being thrown back into the chalkboard, creating an indent.

"I don't know," she spit out as she leaned on the wall for support.

"Don't lie to me!" In a split second Maxar was holding Hay-Lin by the neck. "Where is the Heart? I know you Guardians took it when you imprisoned my sister!"

"Even if I knew, I would never tell you!" She bit back.

Maxar was getting impatient and frustrated. "Fine, have it your way. If you won't tell me, I'll just have to kill the new Guardians one by one until one of them reveals the location."

"As pleasant as that sounds, that will not be happening."

Before Maxar could see her face, the light from Wynter forming the Guardians blinded him, resulting in him releasing Hay-Lin.

"Get Mrs. Lin out of here," Wynter ordered Khloe, who had joined them seconds before transforming.

To help Khloe get to their teacher the rest of the Guardians used their powers to distract the man. Khloe quickly grabbed Hay-Lin, flying her to safety to another classroom in a different hall.

"Who is that man?" Khloe asked, setting down her teacher.

"Someone my generation fought. He's part of the Order of Shadows and is incredibly strong."

"So are we," Khloe flipped her braid over her shoulder in her usual sassy manner. "Stay here and rest, we'll take care of him."

Hay-Lin watched as the new Air Guardian flew out of the classroom. "Just as cocky we were when we were their age."

Khloe had the art room in her sights. However, she narrowly missed the bullet that was the Earth Guardian shooting out of the room, colliding with the lockers across the hall. Dislodging herself, CJ grunted.

"Are you okay?" Khloe landed next to CJ to try aiding her in any way she could.

"Peachy," she accepted Khloe's help in steadying her footing. They looked at the demolished lockers. "Well, whoever's lockers they are, are gonna be in one hell of a surprise Monday morning."

Khloe laughed. "Oh yeah."

Seconds later, in a fiery path, came Izzy. Instead of repeating the locker incident and destroying more lockers, Khloe and CJ caught her but instantly let go so they didn't burn themselves too badly.

"Shit! This dude is strong."

"Agree." Out flew Wynter and Dakota, landing in line with the others.

"We need a plan," Dakota declared.

"I agree, we can't attack all wily nilly," Izzy said, extinguishing her flames on her body.

Her choice of words got a couple of eyebrows rises but she decided to ignore them.

"Anyone got any good ideas?" Khloe asked as they watch as the man slowly made his way out of the room. "Mrs. Lin said he is part of the Order of Shadows."

"But we've never met him so we don't know what his is capable of," Dakota informed them.

The Guardians looked around at each other for suggestions until their eyes landed on their leader.

"Uh right, leader." Wynter started biting her nails thinking of a plan, unfortunately her thoughts were interrupted by Izzy, who was beside her, tackling her to the ground to avoided getting a shadowy spear to the face. "Thanks." She uttered quickly.

"Now that I know who has the Heart, I don't have to waste my time with you others." The man narrowed his sights on Wynter. "Tell me where the Heart is and I might let you live."

"I don't think you know how this whole Guardian thing works." Khloe stepped in front of Wynter with her hands on her hips.

"You do not just threaten one of us and think you can get away with it." Dakota mimicked Khloe's actions.

Izzy stood pushing the target girl behind her to shield her more and stood next to Khloe on the end. "Now you have to go through us."

Lastly, CJ stood full height next to Dakota. "And going through four very pissed off teenage girls ain't an easy task."

Maxar let out a roar of anger and lunged at the Guardians. Without hesitation the Earth, Fire, Air and Water Guardians released the power within them, producing a blast far more powerful than any individual Guardian's magic.

After the excitement ended, only the sound of heavy breathing and crumpling debris was heard. Once the smoke cleared the girls focused on their target, who had disappeared from the scene. A scene that wasn't a pretty sight; the art room door was now replaced with a giant hole.

"He's gone," Wynter confirmed. "I can't feel his presence anymore."

"Good. Are you okay?" Dakota hugged her best friend, the others placing a hand on the two.

"I'm okay, thanks to you four." Wynter genuinely smiled at the four other Guardians that brought about four more smiles.

"Now that's how you work as a team!"

Their art teacher's voice made the girls jump into a defensive pose but swiftly turned relaxed upon recognizing the voice. The girls laughed at their reactions.

"How are you feeling, Mrs. Lin?" Wynter met her halfway down the hall.

"Let's just say I forgot what it feels like to get throw against a wall and not in a good way." Hay-Lin winked at the last part and received a range of grosses, laughing. "Let's get out of here before anyone comes looking." She mumbled something about trying to explain the hole to the school board on Monday.

"Ah shit! Untransform me so I can get back to being the head cheerleader!" Khloe rushed Wynter, grabbing her shoulders, shaking them to get her to transform her back.

"I don't think untransform is a word," Wynter said as she transformed them back.

"I don't care!" Khloe yelled as she sprinted out to the football stadium, leaving the others laughing at her.

The rest started talking about the small battle, making their way out of the school, when a familiar voice was heard.

"CJ?"

They looked to the voice to discover Isaac standing at the end of the hall all with his jaw dropped.

"Oh shit."
