DAY THREEE OF TRAINING.

Ramiro Gonźalez-Lòpez, District Three Male

The last day of training came before he was even ready for it. To make matters worse, it was only a half day of training since they would have their private sessions shortly after lunch.

Safe to say he was nervous.

Really nervous.

At least he had allies though. That was something that made him feel better. Sylvia and Bitsy were nice to him which was something that he appreciated. Most of the others just seem to look down on him.

But they actually want him in their alliance!

Him!

A smile appeared on his face as he turned to the fire starter in front of him. He had already worked on it on day one but he wanted to refresh his memory one last time. Sure, it took him longer than a lot of the others but as long as he could get a fire started?

He would be okay.

Grabbing the kindling from its spot, it took it over to an empty place and sat down. Setting the pile in his hand down, he grabbed the flint and the dull knife and started working on the shavings. It took a few minutes to get a decent amount of build up and he let out a breath before flipping the flint over to the other side.

Striking it a few times, it finally caught a small amount of shavings and he knelt down to blow on it softly. Satisfied with the flame, he added enough small pieces of wood to build it and watched as it started to burn.

He would be entering the arena in just two days.

He could be dead in two days.

Was he even ready for the Games?

Shaking his head, he turned back to the fire and snuffed it out once it was at the approval of the trainer.

Seeking out Sylvia who was leaning against the wall he took the spot next to her.

"Hey!" he cried out as he looked over to her.

She ruffled his hair with a grin. "How was the fire?"

"Easier than last time, I think I have a hang of it now. I hope at least." he shrugged.

"Hopefully we won't need it in the arena, but if we do, we have you to help out with it. How about we go over to the ax station and see what we can do there?" She asked him as she pushed off the wall.

"Okay,"

The ax's was heavier than he would have liked but he found the right one for him and after the trainer showed him the proper position to hold his body, threw it at the targets that laid along the side of the wall. It bounced off the target and clattered to the ground.

A frown appeared and Sylvia was quick to reassure him. "Don't worry, it took me a couple tries to figure out how hard you need to throw it to actually get it to stick."

And it did.

It was a little before lunch when he started to hit the target more and more times than he wasn't. His last throw even hit the bullseye and he grinned as he retrieved it and put it back on the rack.

He would be okay.

Reid Thasos, District Four Female

Margret.

Her sister's name was Margert.

It was something that she had asked their escort to look into after the first day of training. It took a bit of digging to get but she found it out in the end.

Her sister rebelled against their parents by going by Maggie. It hit home for Reid that first night.

Was she following in her sister's footsteps?

The first day of training was spent getting her ass handed to her in a sparring match by Ikarus, but she shook it off and took what she needed to get better at heart. So she spent day two working on sparring with a trainer until she felt confident enough that in a real fight, she would win.

Spears was something that she spent day two and a little bit of that third day on. It wasn't as good as some of the other Careers but it would be enough for her to get by. She also learned how to tie different knots and a few snares in case she needed them.

It was the third day and it hit her that she would be in the arena in a few days.

Either she won it all or she would die.

Either way, she would give it her best effort.

She had to after all.

Reid spent the morning after spears on smaller weapons, knives, daggers and even the slingshot. Who knew what would be in the arena after all and she wanted to be prepared as much as she could after all.

With a sigh, the young girl dropped down from the rope course and headed to where Ikarus was at with the pair from Nine. They were working on a shelter and she tilted her head in slight interest.

"What do we have going on here?" She called out as she came closer to them.

"Just a shelter, one that's big enough for all of us if needed." Ikarus responded as he tied another piece to the shelter.

"Looks good."

"I know."

Rolling her eyes, she nodded at Percy and Astrid.

"Private sessions are this afternoon, are you all ready?"

"Of course!"

"Just gotta show our best work and make it memorable for the Gamemakers."

Reid would at least, she had some notion of a plan in mind for that afternoon. One that would be sure to get her a good score.

"Lunch is in a few, we can go over everything during it and make sure we're all on the same foot."

"Alright, you still feel good about the bloodbath?" Astrid spoke up.

"It's kill or be killed and I'd rather not die that quick." Reid smirked, turning to her. "Besides, our plan is golden. If we can take out One or Two that would be better but I don't know if we should risk it that fast."

"We'll be fine. Don't worry. We've trained for this and Percy and Astrid are more than capable of killing one of them if needed."

"I hope so."

If it came down to it, she wouldn't hesitate to take any of them out.

Maleae Picket, District Eleven Female

"So I was thinking about our plan," She started, turning to face her allies at the table. "The bloodbath is something we should try to avoid if possible. But we need to be able to get some supplies from it. I was thinking, Chloe, if you're on the other side of the cornucopia, run north and don't get anything. Logan will be looking for you and we want to avoid that."

"Mal and I will get a couple bags and an assortment of weapons and meet up soon after. After that, we head north for a couple hours, changing directions every so often. Once we are far away enough, we look for water and then a place for the night."

"What if someone tries to get one of us?" Chloe asked, tapping her fork against the table softly.

"I'll be there to stop them," Velveta spoke, eyes determined. "I don't care who it is as long as all three of us get out alive."

"I'm glad that we have each other," Mal said between bites. "Make it a lot less terrifying, you know?"

"Yeah, but it comes down to it, I won't hesitate to take either of you out." Velveta grinned.

"We know."

"Private sessions are soon, what do you plan on doing?" Chloe asked a bit later, taking a drink of water.

"Probably some sparring with a trainer, maybe some knives." the female from eleven shrugged mindlessly. "Hopefully something to get me a mid level score."

"I'll work my magic with camouflaging and perhaps fire starting. What about you?" Vel asked.

"Survival stations for sure, you both know I can't really hold my own with a weapon."

"That's what we are here for. Don't worry." Mal reassured the teen. "And if anything, perhaps your interview will gain you some sponsors."

She turned back to the rest of the room, some sitting alone, like her district partner. He was her only fear, not knowing if he was targeting her or not. Only one of them would make it back and she would try hard enough to get her a good shot at it. The small group of Careers were joking between the four of them, and she shook her head.

"Just stay clear of One and Two as well as Four and Nine, they're the ones that are the biggest threat out of the gate."

The rest of the time allotted for lunch was quiet, with silent reassurances to each other.

Mal was scared, absolutely terrified. She knew that her chances of winning and going home were low but perhaps the odds would be in her favor this year. She let out a sigh as the first tributes started to leave the area, no doubt heading over to where they would wait for the sessions.

She could only hope that she wasn't as hopeless as she thought and would come out with a good score.

It was her second to last chance to get people to like her.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow night." She called as she got up from the table and dumped the rest of her tray. She found herself too anxious to eat as much as she knew she should have. But Maleae would rather not vomit in front of the Gamemakers during her session.

But that would be memorable. She smirked as she turned down the hall and to where the chairs sat, taking her spot next to Chive.

Letting out a breath, she tapped her fingers against her thigh, leaning her head back against the wall. She could do this.
