BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Profile: Mash Kyrielight, aka Shielder is a character shrouded in mystery like his Senpai.
The first traces of Mash appear a couple of years ago in Kazimierz, as Arkan Bloodedge's Attendant/Manager/Driver/Infirmary/Waitress/Chealeader.
The media speculated that she might be the first groupie or fangirl who ended up getting her hands on the newborn masked champion of the arena.
But, Mash turned that rumor on its head when he repelled the first of several kidnapping attempts to make Arkan Bloodedge lose his arena battles.
Then, Mash began to occasionally participate in smaller tournaments and rarely in major tournaments, when Arkan Bloodedge was unable to participate for personal reasons.
Mash Kyrielight, a woman with a professional model's body, the smile of an angel, sexy armor and her huge cross-shaped shield, has allowed him to gain instant fame and a huge number of fans.
Many people tried to recruit her into their Knights' Club or sponsor her, but she refused every offer.
In a brief interview, she stated: "A career in the Knights' Club sounds tempting, but I don't want fame, money or fighting. I just want to be by my Senpai's side and help him in any way I can. See him achieve his goals. and knowing that I contributed to this result fills me with happiness."
Fans of the two immediately created the Bloodshield ship and the media made a lot of noise to understand the true nature of their relationship.
When Arkan Bloodedge left Kazimierz to become a nomadic vigilante, many expected that Mash would remain in Kazimierz and that she would become the next champion.
Instead, Mash Kyrielight became Shielder, Arkan Bloodedge and the Black Cabal's first line of defense.
Wherever Arkan Bloodedge goes, Shielder was close to him protecting him with his shield, creating the legend of being the Ultimate Shield that can block any attack.
When his Senpai joined Rhodes Island, no one was surprised when Shielder applied to become an Operator.

Arkan is a stubborn and unsociable patient, making even simple ophthalmology control difficult.
Mash is the perfect patient, sociable and friendly, you can have them do all the tests you want without problems.

[At the same time, I feel disappointed and excited. I hoped Mash would be a one-off like Arkan Bloodedge, but his physiology is mundane in comparison.
But testing with my new equipment allowed me to discover some juicy facts about Mash.
In her brain of this girl there are a couple of chips implanted, the purpose of which is unknown to me, but Mash assures that they are not a danger to her health.
I noticed that Mash has a kind of second nervous system similar to circuits, this exotic nervous system is also present in Arkan Bloodedge, but this one is simpler and less complex.
I wonder if other members of the Black Cabal share this biological treaty?
Another peculiarity that I discovered when examining Mash's DNA, in addition to many unknown Genes and an incredibly complex genetic structure, are traces of Genetic Engineering.
I think I understand what it means, Designer Baby, and I don't like it.

Just as is the case with Arkan Bloodedge or any other member of the Black Cabal, we have gotten no real information about Mash Kyrielight's past.
For the entire world, Mash Kyrielight appeared out of nowhere in Kazimierz, when Arkan Bloodedge made his first appearance in a fighting tournament, Mash was present in the stands and cheering.
Overlooking this quirk of the Black Cabal, the Operator Shielder, she has proven herself to be an extremely capable Operator both on and off the battlefield.
Mash Kyrielight has high combat capabilities against single targets, large armed groups and large monsters.
Although Shielder favors close combat with her shield, she has proven several times to be very skilled with firearms and cyber warfare, being able to hack into the computers and communications systems of enemy forces.
When Mash isn't serving field missions, she prefers to apply her other talents to help Rhodes Island's many Departments.
Medical Department wishes Mash would work with them full time, Mash has an almost encyclopedic knowledge in medical and numerous scientific fields. Mash acts as if she were a fish in water when she finds herself inside the laboratories of Rhodes Island, as if she were born and raised in a research facility.
Engineering Department, considers her an honorary member, although Mash does not demonstrate particular talent in engineering, she is very good at maintaining vehicles and machinery, especially when it comes to fixing and updating computer systems.
The Logistics Department and the Human Resource Department also want a piece of Mash, although not to the same extent as the Medical Department.
[We struck gold with Mash Kyrielight, this girl is too good to be true.
Mash is a beautiful, very kind, sociable woman, extremely capable in fighting and extremely intelligent. If you would like, you could pursue a career in medicine or in a scientific field or in engineering.
The only flaw we can find in this woman is her insistence on participating in all Operations involving Operator Arkan Bloodedge.

Unlike her Senpai, Mash settled into Rhodes Island with extreme ease, starting to make friends in the first few days.
Mash for unknown reasons especially connected with Eyjafjalla and Amiya, becoming great friends.
After a few weeks, the Human Resources Department included Mash in the Top Ten Operators I would like as a friend or girlfriend.
Mash Kyrielight, aka Shielder has become immensely popular and welcome in Rhodes Island.
On a lesser note, the number of Rhodes Island Employees requiring burn and hypothermia treatment has tripled.
[Am I the only one who notices that Eyjafjalla and Mash share a particularly similar tone of voice, in addition to their habit of calling almost everyone Senpai?

At least it's clear to everyone that Mash and Amiya are cut from the same cloth, there are quite a few similarities in their personalities.

It turns out that the one-eyed Black Dragon is very protective and possessive of our Shield Maiden.
Anyone who tries to ask for a date will first have to face the Black Dragon, so far seven men and seven women have been sent to the infirmary with moderate burns or partially frostbite.

Mash Kyrielight possesses immense strength and endurance, combined with her massive shield, Lord Camelot, makes her one of Rhodes Island's best Operator Defenders.
During one particularly critical Operation, Mash demonstrated the full power of her Defensive Arts, creating a castle-like barrier that repelled a dangerous threat.
Once the Operation was complete and Mash returned to Rhodes Island, we began testing to see the limits of Mash's Defensive Art: Lord Camelot - Now is a Castle of Distant Ideals.
The first test was performed with a high-pressure water jet, then we increased the difficulty level, passing through heavy artillery and more. But Lord Camelot was not harmed.
The latest test involved a combined attack by seven Operator Casters (Iris, Ceobe, Ifrit, Eyjafjalla, Amiya, Rosmontis and Mostima).
The result was that Mash and his Defensive Art remained unscathed by the strength of some of Rhodes Island's best Operator Casters.
It's official, Mash Kyrielight, aka Shielder, is the Operator with the best defense in the entire Rhodes Island.
[Testing has shown that Mash, much like Operator Arkan Bloodedge, does not use Oripathy to perform his Arts. Further testing to determine Lord Camelot's breaking point will be prohibited, until further notice.

Mash is Ultimate Shield, as long as his heart doesn't break, even those castle walls will never fall.

My Mash is my last line of defense, she will protect me from all harm, even if her body is vaporized, her shield will continue to protect me.

Mash's sociable and friendly nature, combined with the trust we have gained, have allowed us to gain some tangible, if not too in-depth information on the "Magic" or "Magecraft" of the Black Cabal.
"I love Rhodes Island and all its members so much, I started to think of Eyjafjalla and Amiya as the sisters I never had. But I can't answer questions more than that, if I did, I would be betraying my Senpai's trust and my friends."
Not wanting to experience a critical break in the relationship between Mash and Rhodes Island, we declined to ask further questions.
We currently know that the second nervous system-like circuits present in Mash and the rest of the members of the Black Cabal are called Magical Circuits
Magic Circuits are a super-rare mutation that appears in a small number of humans, the number and quality of Magic Circuits vary from individual to individual.
People born with Magic Circuits can produce Magical Energy, using self-hypnosis and carefully chosen words, they can shape the energy to form a specific type of spell.
The underlying process is quite similar to the way Operator Casters use their Arts, albeit using Magic Circuits instead of Originium.
Studying the differences and similarities between "Magecraft" and the Originium Arts would be an extremely interesting study project.
Unfortunately, members of the Black Cabal are not willing to work or provide further details on their Exotic Arts.
[I understand that many people are interested in the past of Mash and his friends.
I won't lie, I'm curious about this magic of theirs too, but we should respect their privacy. When they are ready, they will tell us their past.

For the first 18 years of my life I lived within the walls of Chaldea, I was raised by the Doctor Romani Archaman and the Servant Caster Leonardo da Vinci.
My dream was to see the sky with my own eyes, my Senpai help me complete this dream.
Then, I dreamed of seeing the whole world, my Senpai for the second time, help me fulfill my dream.
When Chaldea was destroyed, my heart was broken, I lost my home, I lost my surrogate parents. But, I still had my Senpai and the rest of my friends.
I learned that home is not a place, but the people who live there.
Now, my home is wherever my best friend, my dear Senpai, goes.
We began traveling to the most wonderful and horrible places in the universe, creating a mountain of happy memories.
He helps me fulfill my dreams and supports me in my moments of doubt, now it's my turn to support him as a Servant Shielder.
Our last trip took us to Kazimierz and finally to Rhodes Island.

Appointed as Assistant: Doctor, do you want me to be your assistant?
No problem, I have a ton of experience helping someone manage an organization full of wacky characters. But I hope it's something temporary, I prefer to be Senpai's assistant.
Talk 1: Doctor, could you put me on the Team with my Senpai, if it's possible I would like Eyjafjalla and Amiya to be there too.
Talk 2: I've worked hard to get to this level, my shield is capable of repelling any damage that appears on the way. But that's no reason to stop training, I have to get stronger for the sake of my Senpai and my friends.
Talk 3: The Doctor, if we have a free moment we can play a short game of chess or read a detective book. I love adventure, but every now and then I need a break.
Talk after Promotion 1: Doctor, I think I'm sick. Every time I see my Senpai surrounded by other female Operators my heart hurts. When I saw the Sui sisters (Nian, Dusk, Ling) clinging to Senpai, I almost started a fight. Doctor what's happening to me? Maybe I was infected by Oripathy? Doctor why are you laughing!?
Talk after Promotion 2: Doctor, this is my Ortenaus MK-9 Armor. At first, I used it when my abilities were weakened following a rather complicated situation. But now it has become one of my best pieces of equipment, I use it when things are about to get serious or dangerous. My Armor, Ortenaus, has several tricks and surprises.
Talk after Trust Increase 1: Senpai's goal is to discover the secrets of this world and find the cure for Oripathy. I will help him at any cost. But that doesn't mean I don't want to help Rhodes Island.
Talk after Trust Increase 2: Doctor, I advise you to stop treating Amiya like a child. You should start looking at her and treating her like a woman, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Talk after Trust Increase 3: Rhodes Island has become a special place in my heart. It is, at the same time, so similar and so different from Chaldea. A white-haired woman in command, an advanced facility full of doctors and scientists, an impossible mission to accomplish, a brilliant leader and her lovable assistant, a small army of extraordinary men and women. I feel like I'm a parallel dimension.
