Draco knew that something wasn't right, but he couldn't really tell what it was. Amelin had acted strange the last few days. She seemed to be more exhausted than usually, because he had to carry her from the library to their bedroom the last two nights, because she had fallen asleep there. She was also more clingy then usual. He knew that she liked it when he put his arm around her shoulders or waist but now she sought his proximity at every opportunity. When he had tried to ask her what was going on she had waved it off and told him that he didn't need to worry. Therefore, he had let the issue rest. Amelin had noticed her strange behavior herself but she had put it on the stress off the summer vacations. But when she had thrown up in the mornings during the last two days, which Draco had fortunately not noticed, and then her period had stopped, which hardly ever happened, she began to suspect that it might be something else. So Amelin decided to go to the doctor the next day. It was Draco's birthday, but because he was working and they would only see each other in the evening it didn't matter and if she was right she had the perfect birthday present for him. When she woke up in the morning, Draco was already gone, he had put a note on the nightstand on which he had written that he didn't wanted to wake her, that he wished her a great day and that he loved her. Amelin's heart warmed he was so sweet. After a short late breakfast Amelin made her way to London.

The ride in her little beetle took quite a while and in such moments Amelin envied Draco that he could simply use the wizards' transportation to cover greater distances. Of course, Amelin could use the floo powder network, but for her it only worked for certain destinations and where she was going today she had no connection. She entered the 24h praxis and looked around. On the walls where several pictures, some with medical background others just showed some landscapes. In the waiting room sat several people of different ages waiting to be treated. Amelin went to the desk and she was handed a formular which she filled in. Blood was taken from her and she had to provide a urine sample. As she left the praxis an hour later the smile in her face seemed to be engraved. She could have hugged the whole world. Grinning Amelin went down the road and discovered a small shop which she entered excited. The store was almost bursting at the seams so packed with baby stuff. Amelin walked purposefully towards a shelf that consisted of onesies. "Amy?" she heard a voice behind her. Slowly Amelin turned around and smiled. "Ginny it's nice to see you", Amelin said hugging her friend. "What are you doing here?" Ginny wanted to know and looked skeptically at Amelin. "Ah a friend of mine is having a baby soon and I wanted to get her a gift", Amelin said. Ginny didn't seem to believe her why Amelin quickly changed the subject. "What about you?" she asked. "I'm searching something for Hermione and maybe some new things for James, I swear to you if the boy keeps growing like this he can soon wear Harry's things." Amelin laughed and looked around to see if Ginny had brought her one year old son along. When she didn't see the redhaired boy anywhere she looked back at Ginny. "He's with Mom and Dad", she answered the unspoken question. "I see. And how's Hermione?" Amelin asked. "She's happy when it's over. I tell you the last weeks are the worst. However I have to go", Ginny said after a short glance on her watch. She waved goodbye to Amelin and disappeared through the door. Relieved, Amelin expelled the air and continued to look around for something suitable.

Smiling Amelin stood in the kitchen and put the finishing touches on their dinner. She was wearing the blue dress Draco liked so much on her, the table was set and her present for Draco was laying on the kitchen counter. Amelin heard a whoosh from the fireplace in the living room and knew that Draco had just arrived. With a little bounce in her step, she went to him. "There's the birthday boy", she said giving Draco a quick kiss. "How was your day?" Draco asked wrapping his arms around Amelin, so she couldn't walk away. "Alright. I was in London and happened to run into Ginny. Otherwise boring and I missed you." Draco smiled he loved it when his wife told him that she had missed him. "What's that delicious smell?" he asked, sniffing. "To celebrate the day I cooked your favorite food", Amelin said and saw how Draco blushed. "You shouldn't have", he said kissing her fleetingly. Amelin blushed, she didn't knew how Draco managed that, but she didn't actually care. "Nonsense it wasn't a big deal." Amelin freed herself from Draco's grip and guided him by his hand into the dining room. "Wow you've outdone yourself", Draco said as he saw the table. "I'm glad you like it", Amelin said smiling, kissed his cheek and disappeared into the kitchen to get the food. Dinner was a quiet affair, now and then the two threw amorous glances at each other across the table or Draco took Amelin's hand and stroked it with his thumb. When they finished eating, Amelin insisted on clearing the plates by hand, but this was only an excuse for her to get Draco's gift. She took a deep breath before she took the packet and went back into the dining room. Draco looked at her as she came closer with a timid smile. "Happy birthday", she said offering the packet to him. "Amelin you know that you don't have to gift me something", Draco said as he took the present. "It's something for both of us", Amelin replied. With a last skeptical gaze at his wife Draco turned to his gift. It was a small square packet which was wrapped in silver paper with a white bow. Draco pulled at the bow and moved the paper aside. The white box that appeared didn't help him much and Amelin stroking his hair didn't help either. Slowly Draco raised the lid from the box and dropped it on the floor beside the table. His eyes widened as he took out the contents with shaky fingers. It was a dark green onesie on which stood ´I love my Daddy!´ in silver letters. Draco's gaze travelled to Amelin who stood beside him and smiled uncertainly at him. "You're pregnant?" he asked while his eyes travelled to Amelin's stomach. Amelin nodded and Draco dropped the onesie, wrapped his arms around Amelin pulled her closer and buried his face in her dress. Amelin could see how Draco's shoulders shacked and felt how her dress got soaked by his tears. "Hey", she whispered lovingly stroking Draco's hair. "Stop crying this are good news aren't they?" Draco looked up at her tears still shimmering in his eyes. "How did I deserve so much luck?" he asked in a frail voice. "Because you're a good person Draco." Draco smiled and pulled Amelin on his lap. "Careful," Amelin laughed at his blustery reaction. "You make me incredible happy do you know that?" Draco asked and kissed Amelin without waiting for a reply. "Then why are you crying?" she wanted to know as he let go of her and wiped some tears from Draco's face. "Because I can't believe that I'm holding my whole family in my arms wright now", Draco replied kissing Amelin again while his left hand moving to her belly where her child was growing.

With a grin, Draco stood at the entrance to the walk-in closet he shared with Amelin and watched her look at herself in the mirror. She had passed the magical mark of twelve weeks and it was safe to tell their friends and families about the pregnancy. Amelin's body had already changed a bit she had gotten more curves and, in the meantime, also a small belly, which she just inspected skeptically. But what Draco found most interesting was that she was more sensitive to his touch, which spiced up their love life. "What are you doing?" asked Draco when he finally had enough of watching Amelin. Caught Amelin turned around looking at him with wide eyes. "Draco", she said. "That's my name", Draco said amused. "So what are you doing?" he repeated his question. Amelin looked down at herself and Draco could hear her taking a breath. "Do you think I'm fat?" Amelin wanted to know looking up at Draco again. "What?" Draco asked surprised. "If you think I'm fat?" Draco sighed, how did she come up with this nonsense. "Amelin", Draco said laying his hand on her shoulders. "You're pregnant…" "I know Draco but", Amelin cut him off, but Draco interrupted her by putting a finger to her lips. "You're pregnant and your body adopts to this new circumstances. It makes sure that our child develops properly and that you can take care of it when it's here. Besides, I don't mind these changes, on the contrary I think they make you even more beautiful." When Draco finished he bend forward and kissed Amelin's neck. Immediately Amelin relaxed und er her husband's touch. "Draco", she groaned as he started to nibble at her neck. "You should never doubt yourself again. I love you and I'm incredibly happy that you're giving me this child." "You're sweet", Amelin said and kissed Draco before she pushing past him out of the closet. That same week, the two informed Amelin's colleagues and employer, as well as her parents, brother and some of their mutual friends.

It was late and Draco tumbled exhausted from the fireplace into his living room. He had been at a ministry event although he would have preferred to stay home with Amelin. He hated those events and the only thing that made them bearable was the company of his wife. Draco dragged himself up the stairs and pulled at his tie to loosen it. Puzzled, he raised his eyebrow when he saw light shining under the doorframe to the bedroom. Draco pushed the door open and Amelin lifted her gaze from the book which was laying against her legs. "You're back already", she stated smiling. Draco nodded and stood in front of Amelin's dressing table so he could watch his wife in the mirror. "How was it?" Amelin wanted to know. Draco shrugged. "They asked about you", he finally said opening his cuffs. "I would have accompanied you but..." Amelin nodded to her belly, which was showing under the blanket. "Are you feeling better?" Draco wanted to know and finally turned to Amelin. Amelin nodded. "I needed some rest." Draco smiled. "What are you doing anyway?" he asked nodding at the book and the piece of paper sticking out of it. "I'm looking for names for our baby", Amelin said and before she could react Draco was at her side and had pulled the paper from the book. "Draco!" she cried, still trying to grab the paper, but Draco held it so she couldn't reach it. He browsed the list. "Capricorn? Do you want our child to be a laughing stock?" snorted Draco. "They're just ideas," Amelin replied, and she was able to take the sheet away from Draco after all. "I see and why are you here gathering names when you wanted to sleep?" Draco wanted to know. Amelin sighed stroking her belly. "I wanted to, but our baby had other ideas." For several weeks, Amelin could feel the child moving inside her, and that evening it had probably decided to put on an entire gymnastics performance. "May I?" Draco wanted to know nodding at her belly. After Amelin had given her silent consent, Draco knelt beside the bed, pushed the blanket and Amelin's nightgown aside so that he had Amelin's naked belly in front of him. Tenderly, he placed his left hand on the bulge and kissed it. "Hey baby this is your Daddy speaking. Your mother and I can barely wait to meet you but you should give her some rest now. We love you so much." Draco kissed Amelin's belly after his speech once more and Amelin smiled. She loved it when Draco talked to their unborn child and often he pretended she couldn't hear every word he said as well. "You're truly a wizard", Amelin said tenderly stroking Draco's blond hair. "I think that our baby just missed me as much as its mother", Draco laughed and kissed Amelin. Amelin smiled in the kiss she had really missed Draco.

It was the last day before Christmas break and Amelin played some games with her students when there was a knock at the door. As every year, today fathers of the students and volunteers would play Santa Claus and distribute small gifts to the students. Amelin had tried to get Draco to help as well, but he didn't react to it. "Charlotte would you open the door", Amelin asked the little blond girl. Eager the little girl went to the door and opened it. With wide eyes the girl looked at the figure who stood in front of the door. "Mrs. Malfoy Santa is here!" she called and ran exited back to her seat. Amelin could hear a chuckle from the door and a man in a Santa costume followed the girl into the room. "I hope I'm not interrupting", Santa said with a piercing glance. The eyes that glared at Amelin from under the wig and the fake beard she would recognize anywhere. She shook her head smiling. "Of course not Santa, we've been waiting for you", Amelin said. Santa laughed holding his fat belly. "Well then let's see if you all been good." With this words Santa pulled a list from his bag. Still smiling Amelin sat down took look at the distribution of the presents. She shouldn't be standing for to long anyway. Santa gave all her students their presents and when he was about to leave a student raised his hand. "Yes William?" Amelin wanted to know. "I have a question for Santa", the boy said. "What would you like to know my boy?" Santa wanted to know. "Do you also have a present for Mrs. Malfoy?" Santa raised his eyebrow and looked at Amelin. "Was Mrs. Malfoy nice?" he wanted to know. All students nodded. "She's the best!" someone from the last row shouted. "Well then let's see if I got here something for your teacher." After a while of rummaging in his bag, Santa pulled out a green plush dragon and handed it to Amelin. "For your baby", Santa said with a wink, then he said goodbye and left the classroom. When the day was over Amelin packed her things. Shaking her head she took the plush dragon and left the school. A smile stole onto her face when she saw Draco standing at the edge of the school grounds talking to a student of hers. The children knew her husband quite well by now, because he had often picked her up from school or had brought her flowers over the past few months. She had to admit that she liked Draco better this way then in the Santa costume. Her students said goodbye to Draco when her parents showed up and he finally looked at her. He grinned at her. "Thanks", Amelin whispered and kissed his cheek. "For you I would do anything", he said wrapping his arm around her waist. "I hope you like it", Draco remarked tipping at the dragon. "Yeah, but I prefer real dragons", Amelin replied. Draco laughed when he got the reference. The two enjoyed relaxing holidays. At Christmas itself, Ted, who decorated the tree with Amelin, Andromeda and the Potters came by and the two of them were looking forward to having another person celebrate with them next year.

Draco woke in the middle of the night and felt for Amelin on the other side of the bed. His eyes flew open as he reached into the void and panic spread through him. Amelin's due date had already passed and everyone said it could be any day now and if not they would induce labor by the end of the week at the latest. Draco threw the blanket aside and stood up. He left the bedroom and relaxed almost immediately. Amelin stood at the end of the hallway in front of the big window looking outside. "What are you doing here in the middle of the night?" Draco asked as he stepped to her. Slowly Amelin turned to him. "I couldn't sleep", she said. "Everything alright?" Draco wanted to know worriedly. Amelin closed her eyes, bit her lower lip and nodded. "Why didn't you wake me up if you were in pain?" Draco asked, placing his hand on her stomach, which was rock hard. Amelin opened her eyes again. "You have an important hearing tomorrow and I didn't want to wake you up unnecessarily." Draco smiled softly. "Amelin you two are more important than anything besides I don't think it's unnecessary." Amelin took a deep breath and laid her head against Draco's shoulder. Draco wrapped his arm around her shoulder and guided Amelin slowly back to the bedroom, where he laid her gently on the bed. "You try to relax and I get the midwife alright?" Amelin nodded and only heard how Draco left the room. She bit her lip again as the pain shot through her again. Now at the latest she realized that it wasn't a false alarm, because not only had the last wave been more painful than anything else, but her water had also just broken. She could only hope that Draco would be back soon with the midwife she didn't want to get her child without support. A few painful hours later, during which Amelin would have liked to shoot Draco to the moon and very probably broke several bones in his hand, it was all over. Her son was now lying in her arms, already cleaned up and wrapped in a blue blanket. The midwife had said goodbye and congratulated them. "He looks like you", Amelin stated looking at Draco who sat beside her. "You think so?" Draco asked and tenderly stroked the boys cheek. Amelin nodded and looked at her boy. "Yeah. Surely Scorpius will become such a handsome looking wizard as his Daddy." "As long as he doesn't turn into a spoiled brat, everything is fine." Amelin laughed, she would make sure that Scorpius grew up to be a decent boy.
