Ch4 - He's A Dirty Pirate! Pt2
I would do anything, even if that means; I'll be his captive, and be held prisoner on a pirate ship...
I sat by my window, as I contemplated my decision on offering myself to Hook; instead of him taking the jewels, I needed to be confident. I need to convince him, that it would be better to take me as his prisoner; I was also sure, that my parents would pay it, regardless of what he asked for.
I sighed, as I decided it would be best; to practice, what I was going to say, I stood up and walked over to the mirror. I looked at my reflection, I took a deep breath; before, trying to sound confident.
"I'm sorry Captain, but I can't let you take them"
I shook my head, before trying again.
"Do you really think, you can get away with this?"
I sighed, before trying once more.
"Drop the jewels, Captain; you see there's something, much more valuable, than those jewels that you hold in your hand"
I nodded, as I decided that's what I will say; I took another breath, as I tried to sound convincing.
"I'm offering myself to you, Captain; I will willingly trade myself, for the jewels...you did say, I was of more value"
This was going to be easy, there's no way; he will be able to resist, such a tempting offer. I straightened my clothes, before heading to the courtyard; as I got closer, I could hear swords clashing.
My father, was practicing; with Sir August, I watched them. My father avoided each blow, with excellent skill; I heard them throw taunts at each other, before my father was able to overpower Sir August.
I watched as they bowed to each other, before my father spoke.
"Same time, tomorrow?"
Sir August spoke.
"Yes, your majesty"
Sir August smiled, as he walked past me; my father greeted me.
"Princess..."
I grinned, before speaking.
"Father..."
I grabbed, the sword that Sir August was using; before challenging my father, to a duel. He accepted, as we moved into the first stance; we then started, I expertly dodged my father.
He huffed out a laugh, as we parried; we matched each other, our swords clashing a few times. I could hear a soft chuckle, I turned slightly; it was my mother, she looked amused.
She spoke.
"I thought, I would find you out here"
My father laughed softly, before speaking.
"Where else, would we be; Snow?"
My mother laughed, as she watched us; my father conceded, we then dropped our swords. My parents looked at me, my father spoke.
"Thank you, Emma"
I nodded, before speaking.
"Thank you, father"
My mother smiled at us, while muttering.
"Like father, like daughter"
My father and I, laughed; before heading back inside, my mother suggested we have lunch, before I get on with my day. I nodded, before following them; we sat at the table, before waiting for the food to be served.
We sat in a comfortable, silence; I took the time, to observe my parents, would they understand why I gave myself to Hook? Would they be angry?
Would they deny the ransom, and execute him; instead? Or would they be pleased, that I stopped him; from stealing our jewels? I watched them, while deciding to stay quiet; as our food was placed on the table.
And just as I had done this morning, I chose a few small food items; my parents placed some food on their plates too, neither one speaking, as we ate. Once we finished, I spoke.
"May I, be excused?"
My mother nodded, I kissed my father on the cheek; as I left, I made my way back to my room. Once there, I found a bag; it was big enough, to hold a few items of clothing, I decided against bringing my dresses, as I would look out of place on his ship.
Once I finished packing, I lifted my hair brush, a few ribbons, my swan pendant that I received on my eighteenth birthday, I found my cloak; I placed the bag on top of the bed, I would need to stash it outside, somewhere it wouldn't be found.
I sat on my bed, my gaze drifting in different directions; I would miss this place, but I knew that; it was the right decision, I couldn't let Hook steal those jewels.
I understand, he's a pirate; and that's what they do, but he's going to soon find out that this Princess, isn't going to let him get away with it. I stood up, bag and cloak in hand; I made my way outside.
I walked outside the gates, before stashing my bag and cloak behind a small rock formation; I headed back inside, as I knew I had a couple of hours, before Hook showed up.
I made my way back to my room, as I waited; for the darkness to ascend, I stayed in my room. I was asked to join my parents for dinner, so I made my way to where they were waiting; I sat down, made conversation, ate my food in a comfortable silence, before heading back to my room.
When I got there, I stood by my bed; watching the window, maybe he won't come back through my window, what if he's near the treasury already. I moved, peering down as I did; there was no sign of him, I sighed.
I then decided to head down to the treasury, I made my way down the corridor; stopping as I heard movement, I heard scuffling coming from the door. I turned the corner, only to find the guard unconscious.
The door was open, I walked inside; I spotted a hooded figure, as they closed in on the jewels. I saw a glint of metal, as the hooded figure moved closer; it was Hook, I stayed silent, as I watched him.
And just as he was about to place the jewels in his pocket, I spoke; using the words, I had practiced earlier.
"Drop the jewels, Captain"
He turned, his eyes widening as he did; he spoke.
"And if I don't?"
I spoke again.
"You will, once I tell you; there's something, much more valuable than the jewels, you hold in your hand"
He chuckled, as he spoke again.
"What would that be, Princess?"
I answered.
"Me...I'm offering myself to you Captain; I'm offering to trade myself, for the jewels. You did say, I was of more value"
His gaze drifted up, before drifting down again; as he appraised me, he spoke.
"The Princess, is offering herself; in place of the jewels?"
I nodded, as I spoke.
"Yes, Captain; that's exactly what I'm offering"
He glanced at me, and then at the jewels; his hand twitched, as he placed the jewels down. He then spoke.
"Very well, then. Come along, lass"
I followed him, as we left the treasury; the corridor, was empty, he hoisted me over his shoulder. We made a quick exit, I spoke.
"I need to retrieve something"
He spoke.
"We can't risk, returning to your room; so whatever it is, will need to be left behind"
I spoke again.
"If you would kindly, put me down" He did, as I asked; I continued. "Thank you, now; if you'll follow me, there's something I need to retrieve"
He nodded, as I went to the gate; before lifting my cloak and the bag that held my clothing. He chuckled, as he spoke.
"How long, has the Princess been planning to offered herself to me?"
I spoke.
"Ever since, you broke into my room; and told me I'd be of great value, and there was no doubt, that my parents wouldn't pay for my return. And then you said, you'd be back; for the treasure"
He chuckled again, before speaking.
"I did, didn't I?...When I said that, I didn't expect; the Princess, to be the treasure" I nodded, as he continued. "And, what a fine treasure; you are...now come along Princess, let's get you to my ship"
I nodded, before following him; knowing that my fate was now sealed, and that I was going to be held captive on his ship...
