Chapter 7: We Are The Champions
Several Months Ago
Gardon was at the altar of the Queen's new castle where he was with the Sol Emeralds. For a while he's been studying the behavior of the Sol Emeralds, seeing how much power they can contain within. He learned from one of Eggman Nega's plans was to find and communicate another version of himself using the Sol Emerald as a way to travel to another dimension. Such a plan sounded crazy, but Gardon had the idea that there was a possibility of other dimensions that there might be others who he can call upon to help fight against the Queen's wrath. At this point he was desperate to get any help. There were only six Sol Emeralds present for the Queen took one of them to deal with a problem she had to deal with herself.
Recently, the Queen has learned the ability to rewind time after testing one of the Sol Emeralds during one of her battles. Gardon witnesses this for he helps Queen Blaze make her do a test with his sword combat as practice as well as her firefly army. He remembered how the Queen was able to predict his moments perfectly and was able to copy everything he was going to say before he said that it freaked him out now that she has now obtained a new deadly ability.
At the moment, the Queen was at a place where she recently heard there was a group of resistance trying to overthrow her ruling for freedom. It was a good opportunity for Queen Blaze to test out her time rewind abilities and good for Gardon as he was using the time to study the Sol Emeralds and find help.
After much studying, Gardon packed up his things and began walking out of the altar to get some rest and hopefully can continue his studies on the Sol Emeralds. He left because he didn't want Queen Blaze to know of his plan. Gardon exited the altar room and started heading to his room up the castle. As he was going to take a step on the stairway of the castle, Gardon saw some of the fireflies soldiers appearing at the front entrance door of the castle.
Two fireflies soldiers stood by the door and slowly opened the door, in came the Killer Queen herself, Blaze, looking quite satisfied for she had a smile while stretching her arms as she entered her castle. Behind her was a couple of more of her fireflies soldiers following her lead as the fireflies that were already in the castle all bow down to their Queen. Queen Blaze continued walking and stretching, until she reached the throne seat and sat sideways in a carefree and sassy manner.
With a snap of her fingers, a few of her castle servants that she kept around to cook and clean her home, came to her in no haste. One castle servant handed her a clean glass cup while the other opened a bottle and poured its liquid on to her glass cup. Before drinking, Queen Blaze stares at her drink and playful stir her drink a bit. Just by the stare of her drink, Gardon could tell that the Queen was thinking about something.
"Gardon." Queen Blaze spoke up.
The koala bear stepped nervously towards the cat, "Yes, my Queen?" He answered her call.
"How many resistance groups have I killed so far? It seems I have lost track of my counting." She asked, while playfully looking at her hand. .
"I believe around 12 so far your highness." Gardon said, "Why do you ask?"
"Because it's getting boring, so really boring." The Queen said, harshly.
"Excuse me? Boring?" Gardon said, confused with his head tilting his head at the Queen.
"Don't get me wrong, I really like there's people around the world making their resistance group against me and I get to use my powers to burn down their hopes. But after like ripping or burning their leaders' bodies and heads off in front of them the seventh time it got boring for me." Queen Blaze said, string her drink.
"Maybe send more fireflies to take care of them?" Gardon suggested.
"Nah, these resistance groups seem like they can hold off the fireflies army. I mostly do the work here, but it's really boring since they don't put up a good fight against me. Why should I even bother with these resistance groups? But at the same time I don't want any of them to live." She said, thinking.
Queen Blaze sat back in her seat, "Oh woe is me, whatever should I do?" She said, pretending to be distressed.
"Unfortunately your highness, I don't think I can answer your problem. It seems like these resistance groups keep finding new champions to lead them. Just more and more will keep showing up to overthrow you much like how you cut off the head of a hydra. More will keep coming out." Gardon replied.
The word "champions" somehow echoed in Queen Blaze's head when she heard it from Gardon. She looked at her glass drink, realizing what she needed. Feeling much better, Queen Blaze chugged down her drink and gave the empty glass to one of her castle servants. She stood from her seat and began walking upstairs to where her bedroom was.
"Thank you Gardon, you just gave me a wonderful idea!" Queen Blaze said, laughing.
"Where are you going?" Gardon said, curious.
"I know what needs to be done." Queen Blaze said, "Gardon, meet me at the empty valley north of here"
Gardon bowed, "Yes, as you wish." He said, bowing down to the Queen.
"Oh and Gardon?" Queen Blaze spoke up with her facing away from the koala bear.
Y-Yes your highness?" Gardon said, not liking the tone he heard just now.
Queen Blaze quickly looked back at Gardon with her deadly looking eyes and creepy smile that made Gardon spooked a bit. She spoke with a playful tone, showing excitement in her voice.
"I look forward to the day you try to betray me."
The koala bear was stunned by what she said and might have some skeptical idea what he's been up to. What really bothered Gardon was the idea that she was making her smile. She has something cooked up in her head and he knew fully well it wasn't good for anyone but herself. Gardon had no choice but to prepare for what he has to witness in the coming hours. He prepared himself as he then continued walking to his room of the castle.
A few hours later
Gardon was walking through the deserted valley on his way to meet at the spot Queen Blaze ordered him to be. He wasn't alone because he was accompanied by the Queen's fireflies making sure he met the Queen's demands. After minutes of walking through the area, he was getting close because he spotted more of the Queen's fireflies up ahead and all lined up.
The fireflies up ahead moved out the way for him to make through. He kept walking through the army of fireflies until he saw Blaze, near the edge of the cliff staring at something down below. Gardon could spot the book that the Queen used to make her firefly army, holding the book in her arm.
As he got close to stand next to his Queen. His eyes quickly shifted down below, the moment he did he immediately fell back, scared and shocked by what he saw below the cliff. Queen Blaze smirked seeing how scared Gardon got just by the view and was even more excited for what's gonna happen.
Down below the cliff from where Gardon and Queen Blaze were standing was a sea of monstrous beings at the floor below. They came in many shapes and forms, some look undead, some lively looking, big, and small. They were much different than the usual firefly army. They were all standing still as they waited for Queen Blaze's command.
"Y-your h-highness? What is this?" Gardon asked, scared.
Queen Blaze laughed, "Isn't it obvious? I'm looking for a champion." She said.
"Champion?" Gardon asked, confused.
"Yes, a champion that could help me deal with the problems that even the firefly army couldn't handle on their own. A champion that deals with the resistance for me." The Queen said, in a relaxed tone.
"I created every possible creature down below using the powers of my flames with the book." Queen Blaze said, smiling at her creations below her.
"But why go through the trouble of making all of them if you only need one champion?" Gardon asked.
"In order for one to become my champion. They need to go through a test before becoming one." The cat answered.
"What kind of test?" Gardon asked, afraid but curious to know.
"Test of skills, stamina and power." She said to Gardon before looking back down below. "Get ready, you're gonna see one heck of a show."
The feline put her hand in the air gaining her creation's attention. They all looked up at her and bowed to her, knowing they were all in her command to do what she pleased. She smiled seeing the control she has over them, knowing full well these creatures of hers will never betray or disobey her. They stood in silence allowing their Queen to speak.
"Today, I will crown a champion that will help me deal with the resistance forming around the world and other things that will earn their place in my world." Queen Blaze said.
"For this title, all of you must annihilate each other to show me your strength that I have given to all you." She said further.
"Annihilate each other!?" Gardon said, shocked.
"The last one standing, I will crown as my new champion." The feline said. "I'll be watching your powers very carefully. Do not disappoint me."
"Surely there must be another way, your highness. These are living beings that hardly had a day to live?" Gardon said.
"You called these living beings? They are merely just creatures that I created with my flames. If they all somehow perish in battle, I can just make a new batch easily." Queen Blaze said, not caring.
Queen Blaze looked back at her creatures. "On the count to ten, the battle will begin. Prepare yourselves!" She yelled.
The creature blew and all screamed and yelled in approval, for they were ready to show their royalty to their Queen. None of the creatures were having seconds or regrets as they just simply prepared themselves for the huge battle. They started separating from each other, giving themselves room as they ready their weapons.
Queen Blaze raised her hand in the air and began counting down. They watched and listened to her countdown with her fingers when she reached 5 seconds. She very slowly lowered her five fingers up until the last one.
She smiled devilishly holding that last finger up before lowering down, finishing her countdown as she spoke softly.
"Zero."
The sound of weapons being and war cries were heard as the battle for champion began. A lot was happening down below as the area shook with the sound of cries and screams. The Queen was loving every second of it while Gardon watched the bloodbath with her.
Heads were being torn off from each other, directed or by surprised when they were fighting. Creatures were being stabbed through the chest left and right. Some were sliced up in half both horizontally or vertically. Limbs and arms were cut off making it a handicap to fight with just one arm. Nobody bothered to cry for help or beg for this battle to end. Accepting that the place was their graveyard if they have fallen in battle.
Green and black like blood was just spewing everywhere painting the ground rocks around them. Some creatures were thrown into the air near the Queen only to be destroyed right in front of her for her entertainment. Gardon couldn't bear to watch anymore for he then started to slowly walk away but only to be stopped by Queen Blaze grabbing his collar to force him continue watching.
"Look at it, Gardon! Such battles from many different creatures fighting against each other in combat. Had I not been here for it I would have thought it impossible." Queen Blaze said, her grin getting wider as she spoke in a very blood thirty tone.
"The blood…."
Gardon felt the Queen's grip tighter on his collar.
"The death…."
The Queen pulled Gardon closer to watch the fight before looking at him with the most evilest eyes she gave him that day before looking back at the battlefield.
"The chaos!"
No matter where the Queen laid her eyes on the battlefield, there was alway something going on. To much of the Queen's surprise, there are actually some creatures that team up to take down the bigger creature that was manhandling the battlefield by smashing and punching everything around them. Of course they're alliances were only temporary once they finished the bigger threat and went back to kill each other.
It was getting much easier to see what's happening as less and less creatures were being killed by each passing minute. It got to the point where Queen Blaze went down to look at the last combatants fighting it off for she wanted to see the skills that brought them this far in the battle.
Queen Blaze was able to find a rock that was covered in blood and began examining the last couple of creatures up close. Her eyes would quickly shift around wanting to see every last detail of the battle.
One creature seems to be heading towards a giant horn creature for what seems to be an undead female jackal, with a skeletal head covered and blue flames. She wore a fancy black leotard and black boots with black gloves. The female jackal watched carefully as the large horn creature dashed towards her with its large steel axe.
The female jackal ran up the wall behind her and wall jumped on it right as she avoided the axe coming at her. While in the air over the large creature, she then formed a fire blue whipped from her hand.
She used her fire whip to wrap it around the creature's large axe and she landed on the ground over the horn creature from behind. When she landed, she quickly pulled on her whip and made the creature cut off its own head by its own axe, slicing it off with one pull. The creature's body fell to the floor alongside its head that rolled off.
The female jackal huffs in disrespect at the large creature and goes back to battling against the nearest creature she can spot. The Queen smiled softly for she was quite impressed by the female jackal's performance in battle.
"Interesting." Queen Blaze, smiling.
The feline looked in the other direction, in her view to see, anthropomorphic Tasmanian devil. He wore a face mask covering the lower part of his face but showed off his red eyes. He was wearing a purple scarf around his neck and red and black body armor that covered the front part of his body and some on his shoulders and legs. The side of his hips were two holsters that were containing demonic looking duel pistols. The Tasmanian devil took out his pistols and began blasting at the creatures around him. The dual pistols he shot with were shooting fiery yellow bullets. He was shooting through the creatures by aiming for their heads and other parts of their bodies.
The tasmanian devil then stopped shooting and began switching ammo changing the color of the bullets to blue as more enemies were getting close. Shooting the blue bullets made his enemy electrified and paralyze for a brief moment. While they were paralyzed, the tasmanian devil took his dual sabers, pushing them back away from and started shooting at a comfortable range. He changes the color of his ammo to red bullets, he aims at the ground instead of at the enemies leaving some confused why he missed.
Before any of them could react, the red bullet exploded on them, not giving them time to escape from the range of the explosion. The tasmania started cooling his dual pistols by spinning them around his fingers as he watched his enemies fall before him. He put his dual pistols away and began running to another part of the battlefield.
"Quite the sharp shooter that is one is." Queen Blaze, smiling.
Something appeared in the corner of Queen Blaze's eye that made her move back a bit. She looked down to see one of her creatures dead in the ground with a huge cut on its chest. The feline turns her head to the left to see what seems to be a hoodie-wearing ram wielding a scythe, the blade of the scythe looking like a sharp crow wing with a flaming purple aura.
The ram had his hoodie that covered his large horns as his nose and purple color eyes stuck out. The hoodie he was wearing is also part of his purple scarf. His fur had a tan yellow color on it with a white fur chest on the front. He wore black shoes with purple tips on the end. Purple pants with silver linings on it and silver wristbands and belts.
The ram creature then split his giant scythe and split into two dual wielding scythes for both its hands. The ram towards his enemy of creatures started slicing them out of existence. The male ram throws his enemies into the air with his dual scythes and switches back to its regular form finishing them.
He would switch back between making his scythes into one huge blade or two small scythes for quick and heavy attacks. Creating a combo chain that was making it hard to tell what he was going to do next.
Queen Blaze raises an eye seeing how deadly the ram can be with the way he used his scythe abilities and continued her way walking through the battlefield seeing more up close battles. Though the ram did leave with her good impression so far.
She then saw a strange individual who was just standing still looking at the ground as the fight was happening around him. It was hard to tell what kinda species he was but knew he was an insect of some sort.
He wore a yellow scarf covering half his left shoulder, his body mostly considered yellow and black. He had huge black eyes and black spikes on his yellow head which had two black color antennas. The individual had yellow fuzzy kneecaps that reached his yellow shoes.
The yellow and black individual was doing absolutely nothing as he stood there. This annoyed the Queen, seeing that this creature wasn't doing anything to fight. She was walking around towards the fellow until she saw a random creature run towards him with a weapon in hand. Queen Blaze watched hoping this creature would end this figure.
Just as the creature was gonna swing his weapon, without looking, the yellow and black figure grabbed the creature's head with his hand and squashed it like a grape easily. The creature's body fell on the floor. More creatures then appeared surrounding the figure, they tried to attack him at once to take him down. The individual then pulled out his hand and out form a huge flaming sword. The sword was yellow with a silver handle as it was covered in flames.
With one strong swing he was able to wipe out a row of enemies. The creature then rushed in and started swinging his sword at his opponents, cutting them until their bodies were just pieces. He kept at it until more enemies started to surround him. The sword creature stopped the attack as he began to concentrate. Just as the other creatures were getting close, something was popping out from his back.
Out sprouted out a pair of blue fire butterfly wings, revealing himself to be a butterfly. The creatures jumped back by surprise for they weren't expecting such a thing. The butterfly flew into the air at great speed.
With him in the air, everyone was able to see his wings wide open. They were quite a remarkable sight seeing in their full beauty, but they felt an impending doom coming. A sign of rebirth and death at the same time. The butterfly then started swinging his sword in circular motion, creating what seems to be blue fire blades surrounding his body.
Once he had enough blue fire blades, the black butterfly pointed his sword at the creatures below him and unleashed his blue fire blades on them. They came down raining hard as they stabbed the creatures on the top of their heads, faces, and other parts of their body. Some blue fire blades missed landing on the ground, but that wasn't the end of that. The fire blades that hit the floor and the creature's body started glowing and bursted out in an destructive explosion.
The butterfly watched the explosion of his fire blades at work, seeing them wipe out a chunk of his foes out of existence. The butterfly continued his battle as he swooped down and began slicing through his enemies his sword and smashing some heads with his hands as he flew through them.
Queen Blaze who made a fireshield to protect herself since she was in the radius of the explosion caused by the fire blade. She turned off her fireshield and was really impressed by the butterfly performance by how much of an impact he was making.
The battlefield went for a while as Queen Blaze continued to watch. It went until there were 4 creatures, those being the female flaming jackal, the tasmanian devil, the ram, and the butterfly. Much to the Queen's surprise to see the four she saw in combat be the last four.
She watched as the four stood in square form, each taking a corner watching their every moment. The last four then went charging in, all of them wanting to be crowned as champion for the Queen.
The female jackal made the first move and headed straight to the butterfly who did the same thing. The butterfly got his sword up ready to take a swing at the jackal. The female jackal formed her fire whip as she ran and just before the butterfly could swing his sword down. The jackal quickly stopped him by wrapping her whip on the blade. That didn't stop the butterfly for he used his strength and pulled on the whip, bringing the female jack towards him and slammed her body on the ground.
He had her trapped until he felt some bullets hit his wings that shield him by instinct. He looked over and saw the Tasmanian devil aiming his dual pistols at him. He shot more of his bullets as the butterfly used his wings to shield himself, making the jackal use the opportunity to escape and get back to battle.
As the Tasmanian devil was shooting his bullets, he looked to his left to see the ram coming at him with his purple flaming scythe. The Tasmanian devil moved his head just enough to avoid getting decapitated from the scythe.
They all went at it overcoming their attacks and skills against each other. The queen watched, the way they moved and attacked was such a wondrous sight seeing how badly they wanted to become her champion.
She couldn't help but close her eyes and began listening to the sound of their attacks clashing against each other. In some way, their attacks were making a rhythm in her head that was putting her in a good mood. The Queen smiled and began tapping her foot as the four kept fighting.
After enough time, the Queen finally saw that the four had a hard time trying to get rid of each other and she began walking towards them.
"Stop!" She yelled.
The four stopped to look at the Queen, stopping at her command. She began walking towards them and looked carefully at the four. Examining their looks and weapons that were present, as she was deep in her thoughts. Queen Blaze looked over at the flaming skull jackal, she could tell she had something in her mind.
"Is something the matter?" Queen Blaze asked, eyeing the jackal.
"If I may speak my Queen, but allow us to finish our battle. Let me show me how worthy I want to be your champion." She said, while kneeling.
The Tasmanian devil laughed, "You think you're worthy? You were having trouble fighting him just earlier." He said, pointing at the butterfly.
"If this battle went on any longer, I would have sliced your heads off with my scythe." The ram said, as the jackal and Tasmanian devil looked at the scythe.
The butterfly stayed silent for he saw there was no point of arguing and would rather settle this in combat to prove he was worthy to be the Queen's champion. Queen Blaze looked how determined these four wanted to be her champion by wiping each other out. There was something about them that she liked but yet she couldn't help think of a reason why.
Queen Blaze smiled and finally spoke as she looked at the four. "Alright, I have decided." She said, making up her mind.
The four looked at their Queen and went back to kneeling. "Today, I will not have one champion." She said, looking at the valley of dead creatures.
The group looked confused by this but kept quiet as Queen Blaze kept talking. "I have four champions to serve me." Queen Blaze said, smiling at the four.
The four looked surprised by this as they looked at each other. The four were chosen to be the Queen's champions, meaning they had to work together. They wanted to argue that they would be better off alone as a solo champion, but they didn't want to talk back to their Queen and accepted their title.
The butterfly finally spoke, taking everybody by surprise even Queen Blaze. "If that is what you want my Queen, I have no complaints." He said, speaking in a deep and relaxed voice. "Say the word and your wish is my command."
Queen Blaze's eyes widened hearing, she stood frozen hearing those words coming from the butterfly. Something about those words made her frown and eyes shake for a split second but she quickly shook off those unwanted emotions. She looked at the four champions carefully and chuckled.
"Well aren't you a good old fashioned lover boy." Queen Blaze said, teasing the butterfly who just kept kneeling and stayed silent for respect for the Queen.
Queen Blaze began rubbing her chin, "I suppose I should name you four. I did create you after all." She said, carefully thinking of names for her new champions.
After much thinking, Queen Blaze walked towards the female skull jackal who was just standing up straight in front of the Queen. Queen Blaze looked at her and smiled just before giving her name.
"May, your name will be May. The month where the summer heat starts showing up." Queen Blaze said, explaining the name.
"Yes my Queen." May accepted her name.
The Queen then looked over at the gunslinger Tasmanian devil, "You shall be Deacon. You're quite the messenger with those guns." She said, smiling.
Deacon spins his dual pistols and places them back his holsters. "I'll take the name with pride." He said, nodding at the Queen.
Queen Blaze looked at the Ram and his purple flame scythe. "The name for you will be Taylor, your style of cutting and slicing it's truly magnificent." She said, touching the flame scythe.
Taylor nodded as he accepted his name, "I see killing as a work of art, the best way to express myself." He said.
Lastly Queen Blaze looked at the yellow and black butterfly, "Of course I can't forget you. You shall be named Mercury, as by the planet for those amazing wings make you soar into the sky to show both beauty and fear." She said to him,
"Thank you, I will serve you until you no longer require me if you wish." Mercury said, giving a small bow.
Queen Blaze smiled at the yellow and black butterfly, "Now then, all four of you come with me. I have jobs for all of you." She said, walking away.
"Yes my Queen." All of them replied as they followed the Queen to do their task for her.
From that day forth, the four champions did as they were told by the Queen without questions. The Queen asked the four to take care of the resistance groups that keep spreading around the world. When they did, many resistance groups began falling out of sight. To prove they had gotten rid of the resistance group, they would bring back the leader's head of the resistance to the Queen, which brought much delight to her.
Less and less people began to resist and go against the Queen, for they had to deal with the Queen's champions before even fighting the Queen. Many fear the four champions as much as the Queen herself, for they scout the planet in her name and only return when she has an order for them. The time has come for the four champions to meet up again and face off against Sonic and others as they go on searching for them burning and destroying anything that gets in their way. Just to make their Queen happy.
Present day
When Sonic and the gang arrived on Southern Island, Gardon had finished telling them who were the Queen's four champions. They quickly ran to Marine's home village, Windmill Village. Upon arriving, they saw some villagers trying to put out the fire and save their loved ones who were stuck inside their homes. Sonic and the gang sprang into action to save everyone. Tails and Honey flew to the rooftops and upper windows and grabbed the villagers to fly them down to a safe spot.
Knuckles would punch a hole in their homes giving them villagers an escape route and punch any falling parts of the building. Sonic would rush in with his speed and get them out without getting burned. Blaze wore something on her face to cover her face before doing anything, for she didn't want to cause a panic thinking she was the Queen and help the villagers.
They managed to get everyone safe from their burning homes. The whole village group was in an area where it was safe. Gardon was checking on the villagers to see if everyone made it. In case someone was missing, Gardon would quickly tell Sonic and others to go back to find anyone that was still stuck or trapped in the fire of their buildings.
Thankfully, by the looks of things nobody got hurt and there were no casualties. Though they were safe, the villagers of Windmill village were sad by the loss of their homes by the fire. Especially Marine who had to witness her home and her inventories being burned to ashes while Sonic, Blaze, and Tails comfort her for the loss of her home.
"Gardon, is everyone here?" Sonic asked the koala bear.
Gardon looked carefully at the villagers and nodded. "Yeah, everyone is here." He said, relief.
"The villagers can't stay on the island. Not while those four are here." Blaze said, remembering the four champions that Gardon told her.
"How are we supposed to get everybody off the island? We only have one boat and not everyone can fit in it." Honey said, worrying about the villagers' safety.
Marine stepped in front of everyone, "On the side of the island, we have boats. It should be enough to get everyone on them and leave." She said, telling the group.
"Great! Tails! Gardon! Can you two get everyone to the side of the island to reach the ships?" Blaze asked the two.
"Yes, but what about you?" Gardon asked.
"Me, Sonic, Honey, and Knuckles are going to deal with the four champions. They won't leave us alone until we deal with them." Blaze said.
Sonic looked at his young fox brother, "We're counting on you and Gardon. Get these folks off the island okay bro." He said.
"We will, don't worry." Said Tails as he and Gardon nodded.
"Now go, while there's time before things get even more ugly." Blaze said to them.
Gardon took out his sword and looked at the crowd, "Everyone follow me! We're gonna lead you to the boats to get off the island while we protect you!" He yelled.
The villagers nodded as they began following Tails and Gardon, even Marine followed them. Sonic, Blaze, Honey, and Knuckles watched them until they were out of sight. "At least they're in safe hands with Tails and Gardon." Knuckles said, smiling at the fox and koala.
"Now to deal with these four champions! We're going to make them pay for destroying the village and burning the other islands." Honey said, determined.
"We don't need to worry about the villagers. Right now they're trying to track Sonic as their main target. They should be heading towards us at any moment." Blaze said, taking off her disguise now that the villagers have left the scene.
The group then heard some noises around them which made the gang get ready. It was quiet because as they prepare for any attacks they might come in their direction. Out of nowhere by surprise, something grabbed Honey's legs. The feline looked down to see that it was a blue flame whip wrapped around her leg. Before she could say anything. She was then pulled away from the gang as she screamed for help. They heard a feminine laugh as Honey was being pulled in the jungle away from them.
"Honey!" Sonic yelled.
Sonic tried to run towards Honey to save her, but stopped when saw two glowing lights coming from his right. The hedgehog quickly backed his head avoiding these attacks. He looked to see where the strange attack hit a palm tree, leaving a large hole on them. Before Sonic could make another step he looked up to see two figures in the sky heading towards him. One with a scythe and another with a sword aiming for him.
Knuckles and Blaze quickly jumped in to protect Sonic, Knuckles jumped up and punched the figure with the huge scythe and Blaze fire kicked the figure with the huge sword. Sonic was now left alone but not entirely. Without looking and keeping his frown, he could hear someone stepping in from behind and the sound of a gun getting ready to shoot at him. Sonic kept his frown because he prepared himself for what he's about to face.
Back with Honey, the cat was being dragged away from Sonic and others as the strange fire whip was wrapped on her leg. Honey kept trying to escape from the whip, but it was no use because it was too strong for her to break while she was being yanked away. While she was trying to escape, a female flaming jackal jumped out of the sky and landed on the ground right next to her.
The jackal looked down on Honey and began in a terrifying laughter straight at her face. Honey turned her head up at her and gave a glare at her skeleton head. The flaming jackal only smiled more seeing Honey in a bad mood. "Looks like I'm gonna be playing with you." The Jackal said, laughing at Honey's face.
Honey rolled back and got herself ready in her fighting stance, "So you must be May?" She said, frowning at her.
"Indeed I am. May, one of the four of the Queen's champions." May said, giving a bow. "I was trying to grab that hedgehog fellow but you kept getting in the way. I guess I'll be having fun with you instead."
"I won't let you take my brother away." Honey said, getting in her fighting stance. "Not while I'm standing."
"The Queen ordered us to take or bring that hedgehog by any means necessary." May said, "I better end this quickly before the other champions get to that hedgehog for it shall be me that will grant the Queen's wish."
With that, May forms a blue flaming whip from her hand to use to attack Honey. May used her whip, swinging it down at Honey for a power slam. Honey dodge and looked back where the whip hit and saw the damage it caused on the ground. Honey knew she had to be careful of May's heavy attacks. May ran towards Honey with a scary laugh with her skeleton head and began unleashing fast attacks of her whip, they were light attacks for it even if Honey were to be hit, she would have minimal damage taken.
Honey dodge by jumping, sliding, and dashing, and dodge rolling. Just as Honey was figuring out May's attack patterns, after her second light attack she went for a heavy attack by surprise. By a stroke of luck, Honey was able to dodge the attack in time. She was breathing heavily as she looked back at May who was laughing at her and got her flame wip ready.
The cat wasn't frightened as she calmed her nerves and got ready to fight. She knew it wasn't gonna be easy, but that only excited her to beat May even more as the two charged up against each other.
Over to where Knuckles punched the base of the scythe-like weapon. He looked over to see a male ram looking at him dead in the face. The two landed in part of Southern Island, far from the others. Knuckles quickly stood on his feet and saw the figure in front of him. It was one of the Queen's champions, Taylor and his deadly scythe, that Knuckles remembers hearing Gardon's story.
Knuckles looked over at Taylor who was looking at his scythe where Knuckles punched, "I'm impressed my red friend. I don't know many people who can just punch scythe like that." He said, rubbing his weapon.
"I can just punch and destroy anything with this fists of mine." Knuckles said, cracking his knuckles.
"The Queen did say about a red fellow with a large fist. Which I assume is you? I will gladly slice those hands off you to give to the Queen as a trophy." Taylor said, swinging his scythe playful.
"I'll return the favor by ripping those horns of yours." Knuckles threaten back.
Knuckles ran at him and threw a fist punch at Taylor. The ram dodged the attack, for he jumped up, avoiding the punch and threw his scythe at him. Knuckles moved his head just in time as the scythe landed on the ground. He thought he had the advantage now that Taylor was weaponless, but that couldn't be far from the truth.
Taylor held up his hand as he looked at the echidna, the scythe on the ground began shaking and started floating in the air as Taylor was summoning his scythe back into his hand. Knuckles quickly caught this time and moved out of the as the scythe went past him. He looked back at the ram and saw him turn his giant scythe into two small scythes.
The ram went on a non stop attack with his two scythes at Knuckles. The echidna was doing his best dodging and weaving. To counter the attack he carefully timed his punches to hit the side of the scythes pushing back the ram against his own attacks. The two went at it until one final attack made them push away from each other.
They weren't ready to give as Knuckles got his fist ready and Taylor made his two scythes into one large scythe once again. They had staredown waiting to see who would make the first move.
Back over to where Sonic was at, the hedgehog stood still as heard the sound of boots jingling with each step, he then heard a click of a gun behind him. Sonic turned around and saw the Tasmanian devil himself, the gunslinger known as Deacon. He looked at Sonic by playfully tilting his head at him.
"So you're what the Queen is after? I don't see what is so special about you." Deacon mocked the hedgehog.
"Deacon huh?" Sonic said, looking at him and his dual pistols. "I gotta admit, you look pretty cool. Too bad you work for someone like the Queen. Don't think those guns of yours will be able to defeat me."
"The Queen told me you're a fast one, which only makes this more exciting for me to bring you down." Deacon said, spinning his gun playfully. "Your speed against the speed of my bullets. This should be interesting."
Sonic got in his stance and got ready for anything that the gunslinger could throw at him. They had a stare down like two cowboys in an old western film, ready to draw. The two quickly went after each other with Deacon shooting at Sonic with his dual pistols. Sonic moved side to side avoiding the gunfire as he waited for a moment to strike back. Deacon kept his pistols out and kept shooting at Sonic, until he formed an x shape with his dual pistols to block Sonic's attack completely.
Sonic was getting annoyed that Deacon was blocking his attack with his pistols. The hedgehog took a quick step back and went in again, and managed to punch Deacon in the gut with his fist making him drop his gun. Deacon recovered from the attack, throwing his left arm back and punched the hedgehog on the side of his head, making him stagger back. The Tasmanian devil kept punching and kicking at Sonic while staggered until the hedgehog had enough and gave the gunslinger a headbutt.
Sonic held his head as he stepped back. Deacon took out the pistol that he had in his left hand and aimed at the hedgehog, but Sonic wasn't about to wait for him. He quickly grabbed the barrel of his pistol and shot out the firing mechanism as bullets were shot into the air all around them.
Deacon was shocked as he looked at his gun in amazement of the firing of his weapon. Sonic didn't wait for him to respond as he punched him in the gut. The Tasmanian devil backed up holding his gut from the powerful punch and took out one of his dual sabers. In quick reaction, Deacon began shooting his pistol in the left hand while using his sabers on the right hand at the same time on Sonic. The hedgehog did his best to dodge the bullets and slashes until the two backed away. Deacon got himself together as he looked back at Sonic and grinned.
"You're pretty good, but you can't beat me. As one of the champions, we keep fighting until the end!" Deacon said, running towards him with his pistol and saber in both hands.
Deacon and Sonic both clashed their fists in the middle in a standstill, until the Tasmanian devil headbutted the hedgehog. They backed off from each other. Deacon got himself together and looked over at Sonic who was holding his head.
"Let's see how good of a shooter you really are?" Sonic teased, before dashing around the Tasmanian Devil.
The Tasmanian devil then began to reload both his pistols to use the other bullet powers from his arsenal as he carefully looked at Sonic's blue blur
"Let's try this again."
Over to where Blaze was at, the yellow and black butterfly known as Mercury swung his sword at the lavender feline. Blaze swiftly dodge it as he landed on the ground. There stood face to face with the Queen's favorite of the champions, Mercury the butterfly. Mercury looked at Blaze with a serious and disgusted face to be facing someone who likes the Queen herself.
"Hear me now, just because you have the same face as the Queen doesn't mean I'll go easy on you." Mercury said, pointing his sword at Blaze.
"I wasn't expecting this to be an easy fight. Gardon told me you're the Queen's favorite of the four champions. You're always more focused than the others." Blaze said.
"That is true, despite being the Queen's favorite I don't let the favoritism go to my head. I only just serve the Queen with whatever task she wants." Mercury said.
"Then show me what makes you the Queen's favorite. Don't disappoint me or her in this battle." Blaze commanded.
"You will regret saying those words. I won't stop until me and others bring that blue hedgehog to the Queen and take his life." Mercury said, pointing his sword at Blaze.
Blaze stayed silent as she kept her eyes on Mercury who got ready to strike at her with his flaming sword. The two stared at each other, waiting for one of them to move first. Mercury looked down at his sword and quickly raised it, throwing the fire blade at the feline. Blaze was taken by surprise from the action as the flame sword landed on the ground where she was standing before.
The Queen's favorite quickly got his sword back and threw it at Blaze once again but with much more aggression. The lavender feline rolled to the side as the sword missed her again, the butterfly threw his sword again and Blaze dodge rolled out of the way. She knew she couldn't keep rolling or dodge the attacks all day as each attack made the ground shake even harder.
Mercury this time swung his sword and began unleashing a slashing attack with his flaming sword at her. Blaze dodge and ran towards the butterfly and blocked his slash attacks with her fire-covered hands. They both clash with their elbows as the two stare at each other making a fire spark around them.
Blaze threw a punch at the butterfly which he quickly caught with his right hand. She quickly grabbed his wrist and elbowed him in the gut making him cough. The butterfly swung his fist at her face making her stagger back. Blaze rubbed her cheek for she was put in a small daze.
Mercury didn't give her time to get herself together as he swung his fist at her again, making her back up against the tree. She groaned as she quickly got away from the got ready for the incoming attack, she dodged to the left as he swung at her with his sword and destroyed a row of trees in the process. Just showing much power Mercury had with his sword.
Blaze saw her chance and ran towards Mercury, she quickly took a quick step and jumped at him with her feet. Blaze used her leg to fire kick him in the face, making the butterfly fall on the ground with a thud.
It wasn't enough however for Mercury quickly got back up. He looked unhurt as if Blaze's attack did only little damage. Mercury then unleashed his butterfly wings and flew into the air. They began forming energy blades around getting ready to shoot them at Blaze who was preparing for the attack.
Back over to Honey who was still facing May the Flaming Jackal. The snapping sounds of the whips could be heard as May was swinging her whip at Honey uncontrollably and unpredictably. Honey was a bit hurt because she actually got hit a few times, but managed to lay hits of her own on the jackal.
"I must admit, nobody has ever lasted this long against me." May said, as her whip flamed up.
"I'm no ordinary cat, I'm a cat with some fighting skills." Honey smirked.
May laughed, "Well then let's see how you deal with not just one whip, but two." She said, laughing harder.
May stuck out her other hand and formed another blue flaming whip, she started swinging both whips to show their power. The flaming jackal started spinning her body with her two whips. Honey watched this as she dodged both whips. She looked at her opponent who was still spinning with two whips and kept getting in closer to the cat.
Honey dodged another whip before she felt the whip slap against her arm, making her wince from the hit. Honey took her eyes off May and looked at her arm, she could see some burning damage. She looked back at the jackal and saw her coming close at her. Honey was still dazed from the whip as the flaming jackal went in for the attack, but she wasn't fast enough.
The cat quickly recovered herself and ducked under the jackal, as she quickly ran towards her. Honey made a fist with both her hands, she waited until the jackal came into her range before unleashing her attack on May.
Honey punched the jackal on the side of her body which made her fall back. Before the jackal got up, the cat quickly jumped up in front of her and kicked the flaming jack in the side of her face. Honey landed back on the ground and saw that May was still standing.
She could see the damage she did to May's face, there was a small crack on May's skeleton face and was twisted and crooked. The jackal quickly grabbed her face and put it back in place to recover herself.
May took a deep breath as she looked at Honey who was getting back into her fighting stance. She let out a growl as she went charging at Honey. The two began to clash once again, but this time the fight got much harder for Honey was punching and dodging and May using whipping and gripping Honey's body to burn.
The two went at it for a long time until Honey saw an opening in the jackal's whip and went in for the attack, she grabbed the flaming whip and spun May around before throwing her to the ground. She went straight in to finish her with a kick, but the jackal jumped out of the way and formed her whip and attacked Honey right on her chest. Seeing that Honey screamed and placed a hand on her chest to rub the pain, May saw the opportunity to whip Honey in the whip face so she could blind her view and finish her off.
Honey quickly looked up and jumped at her and threw a fist punch at her face by surprise, the jackal quickly blocked using her left arm before punching her in the face. Honey staggered back as she quickly went at the jackal for one last attack, the flaming jackal held up her hand as a blue whip came out and wrapped around Honey's leg. May threw her hand up making Honey be pulled towards from her. The cat landed hard on the ground as she yelled in pain.
May quickly jumped on Honey's back, her flaming whip on the cat's leg as she grabbed her by her arms. The jackal then forced her to get up, pulled the cat and began swinging her around, throwing Honey at the trees near them, making her hit one of the branches and land on the ground. Honey got back on her feet and began to shake her head, but May was quick to throw her whip at the cat. The flaming whip wrapped around Honey's waist and pulled her back making her fall to the ground.
May smiled and pulled out another whip, but Honey rolled out of the way as the whip hit the ground. The flaming jackal looked over at the cat, as she quickly went at the jackal. They began trading blows with one another.
The jackal backed up, she looked back at Honey who was still glaring at her. Honey had enough, she wanted to end this battle so that can help Sonic if he was in danger. May threw her whip at Honey, who caught it with her bare hand. This took May by surprise and threw her other whip at Honey who also caught it with her other hand. Honey could feel a burning sensation as she grabbed both whips with both of her hands. She gritted her teeth and used all of her strength to pull May towards her.
Honey went as far to wrap May's whips around her gloves to pull her in close. May tried to pull back but Honey was giving it her all to not let go. Honey was surprised even more as she then wrapped more of May's flame whip around her hands, making it look like she was wearing flaming gauntlets on her.
This made May let go of her whip and was now weaponless. She looked back at Honey who quickly punched her right in the face with her fire covered arms. It didn't stop there Honey repeatedly punched May all over body with a series of flaming punches. She kept at it until she gave one last strong punch that made a huge crack on May's skull causing the blue flame around her skull to die out.
As the blue flames died out, so did the fire whip that was wrapped in Honey's arms. She looked at them to see her arms were fine, just steam was coming out. If she had those flame whips any longer she might have burned her hands off but thankfully her gloves were enough to protect from any serious burns.
Honey looked down at the defeated jackal and smiled in victory. She managed to defeat one of the Queen's champions and was able to protect her brother Sonic. "Let's see you laugh now!" Honey yelled down at the jackal.
The cat quickly ran and went to find the others to see if she could help them with their fight. Most importantly for his brother Sonic in case the others failed to beat the other champions.
"Don't worry Sonic, I'm gonna find you before it's too late."
Back over to where Knuckles was at, he clenched his fists and smiled, for he was ready to fight against the ram even more. Taylor turned his head and looked back at him with the same smile. He gave a small chuckle seeing Knuckles get ready.
Taylor ran towards Knuckles and swung his scythe down. Knuckles ran towards Taylor as well and got ready to hit his fist at the scythe. The two fought over who would get the upper hand. They kept pushing each other back and forth and even, giving each other another stalemate.
The ram looked back at Knuckles, then at the ground below him and grinned. Taylor made a small hole with his scythe on the ground with a small hole filled with purple fire. He quickly backed away from the hole and exploded in front of the echidna.
The force of the explosion knocked Knuckles back, sending him flying in the air. Taylor followed after him, jumping into the air with his scythe in the way. He was about to hit him with a blow that would send Knuckles crashing into the ground. Knuckles looked up to see the ram coming for him. He was quick to react and quickly turned his head around to see where the scythe was going to hit. The echidna quickly formed his arms in the way of the scythe and caught it, stopping Taylor from cutting him in half.
Knuckles used his strength and gripped harder at the blade. He could feel it getting hotter for his hands and he had to act fast. Knuckles quickly turned his head back to see the ram.
He let go of the scythe and quickly grabbed the ram by the throat with his hands by surprise, squeezing it tight. He pulled the ram closer to him as he slammed him into the ground and on his back. He heard a small scream coming from the ram.
Knuckles held his grip tighter on Taylor and held both his hands tight on the ram's neck, choking the life out of him. He saw the ram struggle trying to get free of his grip, but Knuckles held strong. He saw his eyes turning from bright yellow to a dark brown color and Knuckles couldn't help, but chuckle because he thought it was amusing how he was struggling against him.
Taylor went for one final attempt by swinging his scythe at Knuckles for a surprise attack. Knuckles saw the attack and punched the scythe shattering it into pieces with the hardest punch he gave it. The ram was more surprised as he saw his beautiful scythe turn into pieces in front of him.
Knuckles kept his tight grip around Taylor's neck, he could hear the ram struggling to breath. He grinned as he saw Taylor's eyes losing its purple color. He knew he wasn't going to escape his grasp. The ram grew weaker and he finally ran out of breath and became unconscious, Knuckles quickly let go and for he didn't want to go as far to kill the ram and become the victor.
He was enjoying this moment knowing Taylor will never hurt his friends like he has hurt so many people around the world. He wiped the sweat from his fur. The battle was quite intense but nothing he could handle. Knuckles looked in the direction of the island where he left Sonic and smirked.
"Guess I'll find Sonic now. He's definitely gonna need my help." Knuckles smirked.
Over to where Sonic was at, the hedgehog was running through the jungle part of Southern Island. He looked to his left to see Deacon running beside him in the distance. When there was a chance, Deacon would fire his yellow bullets at Sonic to which the hedgehog would move behind a tree shield himself.
Sonic stopped to take a quick breather as he hid behind another tree to give him time to think. Deacon just laughed seeing what Sonic was trying to do.
"Don't think hiding behind these will prevent you from getting hurt. I have my ways to hit my targets." Deacon said, getting his weapon ready.
He carefully aims at a specific tree with his gun, making sure he hits the right spot. Deacon shot a white color bullet that hit the spot he aimed for on a tree. He watched the bullet hit the spot only to bounce off from the tree and hit another tree which also bounced off. The bullet was ricocheting all over the place as it kept bouncing from one tree to another.
It came to a stop when the white bullet managed to hit Sonic on the gut while he was still behind a tree for cover. The hedgehog gasped after being hit by the bullet and felt like got punched in the gut as he spat out some saliva. Sonic got back up and quickly ran again knowing shielding himself behind a tree was pointless against the ricochet bullets from Deacon.
The hedgehog stopped to look back to see Deacon chasing him again. The gunslinger saw this as he went for a second attack. Sonic knew he had to get out of there before he got hit by more ricochets. Sonic ran from the ricocheting bullets and made a quick dash for it. The bullets kept hitting trees as they bounced off and missed Sonic by inches. He had to be quick because he couldn't afford to let any bullet get to him.
He turned his head to see the bullets were now heading towards him, he was quick to move out of the way. The bullets missed him and kept bouncing off trees until they finally landed on the ground. Sonic looked around for Deacon and saw him getting ready for another attack. Sonic saw an opening for a chance.
Deacon fired one of his pistols at Sonic, who quickly dodged the bullets. He saw his chance to strike back and quickly threw a punch at the gunslinger. Deacon quickly grabbed Sonic's arm and threw him at the tree with his back facing the hedgehog.
The gunslinger was about to go after Sonic, but he quickly ran away. Deacon smiled, knowing he got Sonic backed up. He followed the hedgehog by shooting at his back. Sonic would quickly jump away, making it hard to hit him. Deacon then shot his second pistol at the hedgehog which he quickly dodged as the bullet hit the ground.
Sonic stopped running and looked back at Deacon. He saw him grinning with his eyes as his pistols ready to fire again, the hedgehog ran towards Deacon as he got ready to punch him. Deacon fired his pistols at Sonic who quickly jumped to avoid them, but he saw another bullet come flying at him from behind. Sonic quickly threw himself on the ground to avoid getting shot at.
Deacon reloaded his weapons, thinking he had the advantage. Sonic got back on his feet and did a homing attack on Deacon. He staggered back, giving Sonic the opening to do more damage on him. The hedgehog went to kick Deacon in the face, making him back away even further.
The gunslinger wiped the blood that was coming from his nose as he held his pistols out to the hedgehog, "Nowhere to run now."
"Not with those bullets." Sonic said, getting himself ready to fight.
Sonic got into his fighting stance as Deacon held his guns out. Sonic made a fist with his right hand, getting ready to attack Deacon. He then threw his fist punch at the gunslinger, but he caught it. The two locked up against each other as Deacon's eyes glowed. The two went into another standstill as their hands began to get burned from the gun Deacon was holding on a large charge attack.
Deacon gritted his teeth from the pain as he threw Sonic on his side. He was getting a little worn out, but he didn't let that stop him from fighting.
The Tasmanian devil let out some rapid shots at Sonic before he could get back to his feet. Sonic quickly used his speed to get out of the way of the bullets and kept moving until Deacon had to reload his guns.
When the blue hedgehog saw Deacon reloading his weapons he got an idea. Sonic quickly ran towards Deacon as he took his weapons out and aimed them at him. Deacon fired his pistols at Sonic who dodged all of the bullets. He quickly went up close to Deacon, making him back off. Sonic then went under Deacon and kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying in the air. Sonic saw this as a chance to defeat Deacon, he jumped in the air as well and as he curled into a ball to hit Deacon with an up air spin dash. Deacon shot his bullets towards Sonic, but the bullets were having no effect as Sonic was spinning as fast as he could with his speed boost helping him deflect the bullets.
Sonic hit Deacon with his up-air spin dash, making him scream in pain. It didn't stop there for once Deacon's body was falling down, Sonic went for a power dive kick while using his speed boost hitting Deacon right on the chest and made a large thud sound as they impacted. There was a dust cloud around the area that soon cleared up. Sonic was on his knees breathing as he looked over to where Deacon was at. He was defeated as he laid on the ground and his dual pistols weren't in his hand.
"You know, I have a feeling that you and a certain black hedgehog would get along." Sonic teased, while breathing heavily.
The hedgehog smiled seeing the defeated gunslinger and defeated one of the Queen's champions. He then thought about his friends and quickly went on a search for them. He hoped they were doing okay as he went back to help them out.
Blaze was getting ready as she watched Mercury flying above and forming energy blades around getting ready to shoot them at her. Once he could form enough that would end Blaze, Mercury then unleashed his dangerous rain of blades to the ground below.
The lavender feline watched carefully before she quickly dodged as the blades came at her. The lavender feline quickly moved to the side as Mercury formed another energy blade. He was quick to shoot at Blaze once again, which she dodged again as she moved out of the way. Blaze made a fire barrier for some of the fire blades that landed on the ground and started to explode around her. Mercury landed on the ground and stood in front of her after the explosions ended. The butterfly quickly went for an attack of his own, making Blaze back up.
Mercury threw his sword at her, Blaze quickly jumped and kicked him in the gut. The feline landed on the ground and saw Mercury getting back up, he began slashing at Blaze using both hands to grip the swords with more power. Blaze relying on her cat reflexes did her best not get damage. She then blasted the butterfly with her fireballs to which Mercury just sliced them with his sword with ease.
Mercury quickly shot out another energy blade at her again, which Blaze avoided. The feline quickly ran up to him and got in a punch in the face and Mercury staggered back. He then grabbed her arm and quickly flipped her over his shoulder, sending Blaze to the ground with a loud thud. Blaze tried to recover from that move but Mercury had the upper hand at the moment.
While Blaze was down, Mercury pulled out his word and tried to stab Blaze on her chest to end her. Blaze was quick to act; she grabbed the sword with both hands before it reached her chest. The two were trying to prevent each other from succeeding as they looked eye to eye as enemies. Blaze then pushed away Mercury with her foot thanks to the length of her high heels and managed to escape from the attack.
He quickly got his sword and ran towards her, he jumped in the air and swung his sword down. Blaze quickly got herself back up and did a backflip to avoid the attack. She landed on the ground and was now facing him. Blaze went to attack Mercury, but he quickly moved out of the way and went behind her.
The butterfly grabbed her arms and forced her to go down on one knee, she was then lifted up by Mercury, throwing her in the air. Mercury quickly jumped in the air as well and grabbed her, holding her by the throat and slamming her body down on the ground. Mercury picked up Blaze and wrapped his hands around her. He flew into the air with his butterfly wings and began giving Blaze a crushing bear hug. Blaze screamed in pain as she could feel her body getting crushed.
"This is where it ends! I shall break your back and make you scream so loud that the Queen herself would be able to hear it." Mercury said, looking at Blaze.
"Don't think this is over yet. Not while I still got some fire in me." Blaze said.
The feline opened her eyes to stare at Mercury with her amber color eyes. Blaze gritted her teeth as her body began to burst in flames, she let out a fire aura covering both her and Mercury's body together. It made Mercury flinch a bit because the heat was a bit too much for him. Blaze saw that it was working and started cranking up the heat even more. Mercury's grip began to get a bit loose that Blaze could feel and saw her chance to make her move. She used her strength to break free from Mercury's grip, went behind and quickly put him in an arm look. While still using her fire aura to hurt the black butterfly, she then dived down while still having Mercury in an arm lock.
Blaze looked down to see the ground getting close as they both brace for impact. As they hit the ground, the flames that were around them disappeared and the ground beneath them cracked. The two were on the ground, both struggling to get up after such an attack. They both managed to lift their torso up as their body was shaking and got on their knees. Blaze and Mercury were having to stare down to see who could stand up first, both showing they didn't want to give up.
Mercury then slowly pulled out his sword and was ready for one finally attack as Blaze watched carefully to prepare. As Mercury got his sword up, his body finally gave up and he fell to the ground in defeat. Blaze just stared at the defeated butterfly and laid back down at the ground and looked at the skies above her. She managed to defeat Mercury who was said to be the strongest of the four champions and because of that she smiled seeing how strength of protecting her friends gave her the power to fight on. Though she was not aware that she just defeated the last member of the champions and still thought the others were still fighting.
Blaze looked at the butterfly and frowned sadly at him. "If only you served under a different ruler. You could have been a great knight and hero." She said to him, as he was still passed out.
After gaining enough strength to stand up, she began walking away from him and defeated the Butterfly. She wanted to find the others quickly and regroup. All that was left was the Queen herself who had yet made an appearance since they arrived back, but Blaze knew she would show up soon and decided to use the time to look for her friends and rest up.
