This chapter didn't exist three days ago. I was just starting to edit the next chapter, and it had one line at the beginning about Bella receiving two visitors during her sophomore year and having a fun night. I began to wonder, 'What happened when they visited?' Three days and 5,000 words later, we now have the chapter 'What's in the Box?' It's more of a tongue-in-cheek chapter where we have fun reading about Bella and Rebecca's wild and crazy night with two vampires. Hopefully, you will enjoy it.
Chapter 47
As I sat in the cozy cafe across the street from my dorm, munching on a croissant with Rebecca sitting beside me, I found myself reflecting on my sophomore year. College life was passing by in a flash, and I couldn't be happier. My classes were becoming more advanced each semester, and I was thoroughly enjoying the diverse subjects I was studying, aiming for a broad understanding of various scientific fields.
I had established a solid routine, beginning each day with an early morning jog. Every other day, I'd head to my practice spot in the forest to hone my abilities. Balancing my academic commitments and social life, my friends and I made the most of our time, ensuring we had fun without compromising our studies. Nearly every weekend, we'd go out to unwind and let loose at least one night, savoring the moments of freedom amid our college endeavors.
Apart from Demetri's visits, I was thrilled when Alice and Jasper finally came to see me. With Alice's usual enthusiasm, she insisted on exploring all the high-end shops in town. While trying on clothes, I couldn't help but wonder why the most expensive pieces always had to look so eccentric. It seemed that the more famous the designer, the more outlandish they could make the clothing, leaving everyone to ponder, "What on earth is that?" before applauding and declaring it amazing. Nonetheless, I enjoyed trying on various pieces while Alice indulged in her passion, purchasing quite a few items that caught her eye.
One early morning, I took Jasper to my practice spot, and we engaged in some non-contact sparring. Given that he couldn't lay a finger on me, and I could batter him all I wanted, I clearly had the upper hand. I could see the anticipation in Jasper's eyes, longing for the day to come when we could have a real fight and he would finally be able to knock me on my ass. I was eager for that day as well, as I was itching to learn how to fight.
The weather was perfect, and night had just fallen when Rebecca and I left the cafe. We had stopped in for a quick snack after wrapping up our studies at the library. It was Friday, and we had both endured a long week of classes. Now, we were just beginning to unwind and were eagerly looking forward to the weekend.
"So I heard from Julie that there's going to be a big party this Sunday at her boyfriend's frat house. Want to go?" Rebecca inquired, a hint of eagerness in her voice. She knew that parties like that were always more enjoyable with friends. As the crossing sign changed to 'walk,' we began our journey across the bustling intersection.
I mulled it over briefly, and realizing I didn't have any pressing papers to write this weekend, I thought, why not. "Sure, sounds like fun. Who knows, maybe you'll meet Mr. Right this time," I quipped, well aware of Rebecca's ongoing quest for a boyfriend. After enduring countless unsatisfactory first dates over the past year, her determination had morphed into something more akin to desperation.
Rebecca, always a good sport, even when it came to her own lousy dating record, responded with a sultry smile, "Oh, I think I'll settle for Mr. One Night Stand this weekend," as she playfully wiggled her eyebrows. We both chuckled as we entered our building.
As we walked into the reception area, heading toward the elevators, I spotted the backs of two women who were standing still, examining the building directory. This sight made me pause. If I wasn't mistaken, and I was pretty sure I wasn't, I recognized those perfect figures. A smile crept across my face as I wondered what they were doing here. I called out loudly from across the room, "Heidi? Chelsea?" and placed my hand on Rebecca's arm, signaling for her to hold up.
I watched them turn around, and I was right; it was Heidi and Chelsea. Wide grins stretched across their faces as they saw me. "Bella! We were just trying to figure out where your apartment was. We were going to surprise you," Heidi announced.
Both Heidi and Chelsea were dressed in stylish yet casual attire, but the truth was they could wear anything and still be the two sexiest women ever to step foot in this building. They had the bodies of supermodels with faces to match. The contrast between them and the other girls in the vicinity was clear as day and night, as those passing by couldn't help but glance at them with envy in their eyes. I scanned the room and could see every guy admiring them, even though they knew they didn't stand a chance.
"Well, you succeeded. I certainly never expected to see you guys here," I exclaimed, offering them both a warm hug. It had been a while since I last saw them, back during my trip to Volterra last Christmas. "Guys, this is my roommate, Rebecca. Rebecca, meet Heidi and Chelsea. They're longtime friends of Demetri, and we all became friends during my trips to Italy."
Rebecca looked a bit dumbfounded, and I could understand why. While she had seen and conversed with several vampires like Demetri and Alice, Heidi was on a completely different level of attractiveness. After a brief pause, she finally managed to say, "It's nice to meet you."
Heidi didn't waste any time and got right down to business. "So, Bella, we're only here for the night as Aro asked us to acquire something for him, but that shouldn't take long. Afterward, we planned on hitting a club, and we wanted to know if you wanted to join us. A friend of mine is the owner, and he just opened it up. He says it's all the rage in town," Heidi chuckled as she added, "He named it Flavor for some reason and insisted I had to stop by if I was ever in the area. Do you want to check it out with us?"
I smiled at the thought. It would be great to hang out with them, especially since I'd only had a few chances when I visited Italy. "Sure, that sounds like fun..." I felt Rebecca nudge my arm. I glanced at her, and her earnest expression seemed to say, 'Hey, what about me? I want to come too.' I returned her smile and held up a finger asking for a moment. I walked off to the side, signaling for Heidi to come along so I could talk privately with her.
As we moved out of earshot from Rebecca, I leaned in and whispered, "Hey, what do you think about having Rebecca join us? Will this outing be entirely safe and, well, totally normal, with no vampire stuff involved? I want to make sure she won't be in any danger or get mixed up in that world."
Heidi flashed a reassuring smile. "No worries, Bella. We'll be dealing exclusively with humans on this trip. The club's owner does happen to be a vampire, but he resides in Brazil, and the club is strictly for humans. It should be perfectly safe."
I nodded, "Alright. Just make sure you guys maintain a convincing human front. I don't want anything to happen that might raise suspicions for Rebecca. She's not someone that can just be silenced, so please be extra cautious, guys."
Heidi nodded, clearly understanding the importance of this, and I knew Chelsea, who was talking with Rebecca, had heard everything as well.
We returned to where Rebecca and Chelsea were waiting. I gave Rebecca a bright, reassuring smile, "Okay, it sounds like this will be a fun night. Just give Rebecca and me a few minutes to dress up a little, and we'll be right down." Heidi nodded in agreement, and I couldn't help but notice the huge smile on Rebecca's face.
As we stepped into the elevator, Rebecca exclaimed loudly, "Oh my God, Bella! Where do you meet these people? Do you belong to some secret society for pretty people!"
I laughed in response, saying, "Well, yes. How did you figure it out?" I began patting down my pants, adding with a grin, "Damn, I think I left my membership card in my other pants."
"Chelsea was telling me about the club, Bella, and I couldn't believe it. I've read about it on many of the gossip websites I like to browse. The club just opened this year, and it's already the hottest spot for the rich and famous. You need to be either invited or famous to get in! And now we get to go too. Wow." By the end of her little rant, Rebecca was practically bouncing with excitement. She had a deep fascination with reading about Hollywood gossip and the lives of the rich and famous. As for me, I couldn't care less about what people thought of other people just because they were famous. The whole interest in celebrity culture was really a puzzle to me.
When we returned to our apartment, we quickly helped each other choose the right outfits. I settled on one of my favorite red dresses, and Rebecca opted for an attractive, classy blue number. After Rebecca applied a bit of makeup, we were ready to go. While riding the elevator back down, Rebecca inquired, looking for a bit more info on my friends.
"Well, Heidi is married to Demetri's best friend, Felix. The guy is a giant and probably was a star football player in college. And Chelsea is a good friend who works closely with Heidi. She's very nice and went all out to help me when I found myself in a jam the last time I visited Italy. They're both a lot of fun to hang out with, so hopefully, we'll have a great night. I've noticed, though, that they tend to get what they want due to their looks. Sometimes they can act a little clueless or unusual because of this, so if they seem out of place, that's probably the reason." I thought adding this disclaimer couldn't hurt, just in case.
When the elevator doors opened to the reception area, I spotted Heidi waiting for us, keeping an eye on Chelsea. She appeared quite amused by whatever Chelsea was up to. My gaze shifted to Chelsea, and she seemed to be surrounded by a group of guys, clearly in the midst of charming their pants off. I grinned as we approached. "Hey, we're all set."
"Great, our car is waiting for us out front," Heidi said, and we observed Chelsea gracefully letting her admirers down as we headed toward the door.
While walking, I overheard Rebecca comment slyly to Chelsea. "Having fun charming all our eligible bachelors?"
Chelsea laughed and replied, "Yes, I'd forgotten how much fun it is. You and Bella must be practiced hands by now, considering you're among them every day. They really look more delicious when they're young and eager like that." Chelsea winked at me, and I stifled a laugh.
Rebecca scoffed and shook her head. "Sadly, it's not as easy for some of us."
"Pish posh," Chelsea responded, leaning in, "It's all about confidence. I'll give you some good tips to land any man on our way to the club."
Rebecca brightened up noticeably and gave my arm a squeeze, smiling. I was eager to hear what wisdom Chelsea had to share as well. Even if I already had my man, I was always looking for new ways to entertain us both. Eternity is a long time, and keeping things fresh and exciting was important to me.
As we stepped outside, I scanned the area and noticed a sleek, high-end car double-parked in front of the dorm. We headed toward it, with Heidi claiming the front passenger seat, Chelsea sliding in behind the driver, me taking the middle seat, and Rebecca sitting behind Heidi on the right.
The car was exceptionally comfortable, and when I glanced at the driver, I realized it was Santiago. "Hello, Santiago," I greeted politely. "This is my very good friend and roommate, Rebecca."
I observed Santiago turning his head and offering his most debonair smile, the kind that could make any girl's panties wet. "How lovely to meet you, Rebecca," he purred with his Spanish accent.
I glanced at Rebecca, who was gazing at Santiago, clearly already spellbound by his charm. Well shit, nothing good can come from this. As Santiago turned around and merged onto the busy street, I turned my head and whispered to him, so all the vampires in the car could hear, except for Rebecca.
"Sorry, Santi. Rebecca is off-limits. Be friendly, but I won't let her get involved in your world beyond this one night of fun." I caught his nod in the rearview mirror's reflection. Whew, that was a close one. I didn't think ill of Santiago, but he was a known flirt and highly popular with the ladies. While I was sure Rebecca would love a one-night stand with him, I didn't trust him enough not to hurt her or worse.
While we engaged in light chit-chat and picked up some pretty good tips from Chelsea, I noticed we were heading toward Beverly Hills, as I enjoyed jogging on these very same roads. We continued on our way, and the houses soon transformed into mansions and then even grander estates. By the end of our journey, we appeared to be in the most luxurious part of Beverly Hills I had ever seen. Santiago turned off the wide road, pulling up to a vast estate enclosed by a towering stone wall with an imposing front gate. Good lord, who could possibly live here?
I observed Santiago lowering his window and speaking into an intercom, and shortly after, the front gate began to open. I turned to Rebecca, smiling, and noticed her eyes had widened, just like mine. Neither of us had ever seen an estate quite like this, and here we were, driving right in. We continued down the long driveway, passing beautifully sculpted shrubs and bushes, until we reached the massive main building. I had been on the lookout during my jogs to see if I could find the building used for the Clampett mansion, and although this one resembled it, I could tell it wasn't the one.
Heidi turned around to address us, "Chelsea and I shouldn't be too long. Santiago here can keep you guys entertained." I noticed Santiago turning his head and grinning at Rebecca, which caused her breath to hitch. I narrowed my eyes; I was not down with this.
"Hey, Heidi, would it be alright for Rebecca and me to come along? We've never seen a house like this," I asked, giving Heidi a pleading look and glancing with my eyes at Santiago and then Rebecca. She nodded in understanding.
"Sure, you guys can come too. The man we'll be meeting, Mr. Smith, is quite pleasant. I've met him several times over the past few years," Heidi replied. We all got out of the car, leaving Santiago alone once again. As I stepped out of the car, I was able to take in the full splendor of the mansion, which was illuminated by numerous spotlights, making it look even more impressive.
As we reached the front door, it opened before we could even knock, and a man who appeared to be a butler spoke in a courteous manner, "Please follow me, ladies. I've informed Mr. Smith that you have arrived, and he will meet you in his study shortly."
He led us through the mansion, and all I could say was 'wow.' The interior reminded me somewhat of a human version of the Volturi castle, with exquisite art and sculptures adorning the walls. The owner of this place had to be very well connected, especially if he did regular business with the Volturi. Finally, he left us in a room that was simply massive. While both Heidi and Chelsea stood still, I couldn't help but be captivated by the room's grandeur. The ceiling must have been at least 20 feet high, and I was cautious not to touch anything, as everything appeared to be exceptionally expensive.
I carefully examined his desk, which bore a striking resemblance to Aro's desk in his office. It was intricately carved and crafted from a thick, rich wood, which I suspected was mahogany. The walls featured wood paneling, embellished with an array of paintings and sculptures displayed on ornate pedestals. One of these pedestals held an unfamiliar device of ancient-looking design. Adjacent to the desk, there stood the most colossal globe I had ever seen. It had a diameter of approximately six feet, making it necessary for one to stand next to it to inspect or rotate it.
What piqued my curiosity the most about the globe were the numerous small flag pins placed across the continents. Their purpose remained a mystery to me, but they clearly marked something of significance. Notably, there was a cluster of these pins in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, despite the absence of any landmass there. How unusual.
I glanced over at Rebecca, and she was just as engrossed as I was, both of us trying to make sense of this remarkable room.
I heard a throat being cleared, and I turned to see a man walking in. He appeared to be in his sixties with graying hair, sporting a thin and relatively short frame. I found him rather unremarkable. I had been curious about the type of man they would be meeting, but he certainly wasn't what I had expected.
I observed him smiling as he warmly greeted Heidi, "Heidi, it's so nice to see you again. You're looking as lovely as ever. I don't know how you do it." He approached her, gently lifting her hand, and bowed to plant a kiss on it.
Heidi smiled brightly and replied, "Mr. Smith, it's nice to see you too. This is my colleague, Chelsea, and our friends, Bella and Rebecca. We all plan to go out on the town after our little transaction is done. But before we dive into business, I wanted to let you know that I'll be moving on from my current job. Any future dealings you have with us will be handled by Chelsea here. I think you'll find her just as pleasant to work with as you've found me." Heidi exuded charm, and I couldn't help but wonder if she incorporated her gift into her business dealings.
Chelsea approached him, extending her hand for a handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Smith. Heidi has shared many interesting stories about you, and I'll be in touch soon so we can become better acquainted."
Mr. Smith considered Heidi and Chelsea's words for a moment before saying, "Well, I look forward to getting to know you better, Chelsea." Then, he turned to Heidi and continued, "I'm sorry to hear that you're moving on. What has it been, a little over a decade that you've been working for Mr. Aro? Well, I'll be sad to see you go, but hopefully, I'll have just as equally pleasant working relationship with Chelsea here." He paused, clearly deep in thought, then asked, "How is Mr. Aro? I only met him once when I was barely an adult myself."
Heidi smiled and replied, "Well, he's getting up there in age, but he's still going strong." I had to stifle a laugh, which I thankfully managed to do. "He's mostly retired now, and collecting is his main passion."
Mr. Smith nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, following one's passions is a luxury for men of our age. I've been wondering if Aro has given further thought to my proposal. I'm confident it will work; I can feel it in my bones." There was a noticeable gleam in his eyes as he spoke.
Heidi regarded him for a moment before responding in a conciliatory tone. "I'm sorry, while Aro shares your desire to see the projects success, he believes that the technology hasn't advanced enough to ensure it can be done safely."
"Neither Aro nor myself are young men anymore," he said displaying a hint of anger as he first spoke out, but he quickly regained his composure. "If we don't try soon, neither of us will ever see the goal achieved."
Heidi continued in her measured manner, "Currently, that's Aro's final decision. However, it's not an outright rejection. Keep working on the project, and if you believe you've found a way to minimize the risks, please reach out. Aro would be happy to reconsider your proposal."
Mr. Smith paused for a moment and briefly glanced at Rebecca and me before turning back to Heidi and speaking, but he was no longer using English. I listened to his words, some of which sounded like scientific terms I had heard, and I wondered if he was speaking Latin?
When he finished, Heidi responded in the same language. And although I couldn't comprehend what she was saying, her tone and inflection indicated that the conversation was over.
"I understand. Please thank Aro for his support, and I will continue my efforts. Now, I guess it's time we got down to business. I believe the agreed-upon price was $30 million." My ears perked up when I heard this. What were they talking about? I watched as Heidi lifted a large suitcase that I hadn't noticed her carrying. I had been studying the house on our way in. Mr. Smith motioned to the table nearby, and Heidi placed the suitcase down. When she opened it, the suitcase was completely filled with neat stacks of $100 bills, all organized in groups of $10,000. Holy fuck. I glanced over at Rebecca, whose mouth was hanging open as she viewed the money. I closed my eyes and tried to remain calm. I would have to clue Heidi in that walking around with $30 million in cash was not normal for everyday human affairs. What the fuck.
I observed Mr. Smith looking at the money with interest but not attempting to count it. Well, that's a good thing, as it would likely take someone a year to count that much money. Instead, he smiled, nodded, and signaled to someone who entered carrying a sturdy-looking box, about a square foot and a half in size. The man placed the box next to the money on the table and waited. Heidi opened the top flaps of the box, inspecting its contents. Seemingly satisfied, she raised her head and said, "Thank you once again, Mr. Smith. I'm sure Aro will be delighted to receive this."
I observed Mr. Smith's helper close the suitcase and take the case full of money, out of the room. I couldn't help but wonder what was in that box, perhaps some priceless artifact, although it couldn't be truly priceless since it had just been assigned a price of $30 million.
Heidi and Mr. Smith exchanged a handshake in farewell. He said, "Well, good luck in all your future endeavors. If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me."
"Thank you. It was a pleasure seeing you again. Until next time." Heidi picked up the box, and with a smile directed at us, we headed out the way we had come in.
As we walked outside, I watched Heidi opening the trunk and place the box inside. Rebecca, who stood next to me, whispered, "What the fuck just happened, Bella? Who are these people, and oh my god, what's in the box?"
I grinned at her and leaned in, knowing that all the vampires could hear us. "This must be how the filthy rich conduct their business. I suppose we'll never know what's in the box, but won't the story be even better with that mystery left unanswered?" I playfully nudged her shoulder, and she reluctantly nodded, acknowledging that I had a point.
After we got back in the car, Santiago drove us to a part of LA I had never been to. I could only describe the area as an upscale business district. We pulled into a new-looking, large building and stopped at a security checkpoint where Santiago engaged in conversation with the guard. At one point, the guard leaned down to inspect us before giving us a nod to proceed. I guess we passed inspection. Finally, we parked, and as we all exited the car, I noticed many high-end vehicles in the garage. We made our way to a glass elevator, which had several more security guards stationed there. I suppose you could call them upscale bouncers.
When the elevator doors opened, and we stepped out, I was genuinely impressed by what I saw. The place was bustling, with the dance floor packed, but it all appeared cleaner than most of the clubs we'd been to. I glanced at Rebecca, who had a wide grin on her face as she absorbed the atmosphere. I was certain she was scrutinizing everyone to see if she recognized any famous faces.
"I'm going to grab a drink. Would you like one, Rebecca? It's on me," I offered. Rebecca turned to me, smiled, and nodded.
I looked over at Heidi and Chelsea and said, "We'll catch up with you guys on the dance floor." They both nodded and walked off. Santiago had already made a beeline for the dance floor as soon as we entered the club. I thought I'd give them an easy out on why they weren't joining us for drinks. I was definitely using the Volturi credit card in this place, as I didn't even want to imagine what the rich and famous had to pay for drinks in a high-end joint like this.
After Rebecca and I had our drinks, we were promptly approached by some guys inviting us to dance, and we gladly hit the dance floor. I enjoyed the music playing – it wasn't overwhelmingly loud, allowing me to hear myself think. We danced for quite a while, and at one point during the night, Rebecca came up to me, excitedly saying how she had just danced with someone famous, though I'd never heard of the man. Occasionally, I spotted Heidi and Chelsea on the dance floor, always surrounded by an eager group of guys looking for a chance to cut in.
Later in the night, Heidi, Chelsea, and I found a booth to sit and catch up. They shared the latest news and gossip from the Volturi and the vampire world, topics I always found interesting. While we were engrossed in our conversation, I noticed Rebecca on the dance floor, dancing provocatively with Santiago. It set me on edge, and I straightened up in my seat. He had better make sure that's as far as it went because I had a short fuse when it came to certain subjects, and the safety of my friends was one of them.
"Relax. Santi knows how to behave," Chelsea reassured me. "He's not going to do anything to cross you, Bella. You'll realize it soon enough, but many who don't know you as well as we do fear you. When someone can turn you into mincemeat with just a glance, people tend to watch their step." I smiled, recognizing the truth in her words.
Chelsea grinned and suggested, "How about you and I hit the dance floor and show them how it's done? Come on, let's give these guys something to drool over." I always liked teasing the eager men, so I happily nodded, and we launched into our own provocative dance. Our bodies moved in perfect sync as we sensuously intertwined them and playfully ground against each other. We quickly became the center of attention in the club, and Chelsea certainly knew how to work it to keep her dance partners spellbound. As I swayed to the sensual beat of the music, I felt Chelsea's cool hands lightly massaging my sides and stomach. It felt so good that I closed my eyes and let the music transport me to another place. I was feeling quite flustered by the time we broke apart, much to the disappointment of our many admirers. Everyone continued dancing the night away until closing time.
By the time Santiago pulled up to our dormitory, it was only a few hours until morning. I was glad the night had turned out well, and we had a great time. Although there were a couple of moments that screamed unusual, like the suitcase full of money, I didn't think Rebecca would suspect anything supernatural going on with my friends.
"Thanks for the great night, guys. I'll see you the next time I go to Italy."
"Yeah. Great seeing you, Bella," Heidi grinned and then added, "It was very nice meeting you, Rebecca."
"It was nice meeting you all too. Thanks for the memorable night. Bye, Santiago," Rebecca said, reluctantly stepping out of the car as she watched her chance to get with Santiago fly away back to Italy. I'd help her get over it, but it really was for the best.
I started to get out next but turned to Chelsea. "Be sure to tell Demetri all about our sexy dance. Give him something to fantasize about while he's all by his lonesome. Maybe it will spur him on to return sooner." Chelsea laughed as I got out of the car, and I waved to everyone as they drove away.
I turned to Rebecca, who still appeared wired despite the late hour, and asked, "So, did you have a good time?"
"Oh my god, Bella! That was probably the most insane night of my life. I don't even know where to start," Rebecca said excitedly as we walked into the mostly deserted reception area due to the late hour. "So, who exactly is this Aro character everyone is working for? I mean, I couldn't help but think he sounded a bit like Dr. Evil or some sort of mob boss. And seriously, who has people carrying around millions of dollars in cash in this day and age?"
I laughed. "I've met Aro several times and even had dinner with him and his wife. He's just a retired businessman who likes to collect art. Trust me, he's not in the mob, and he's not bald with a scar running down his face." I figured I should add my two cents, just in case. "But people like Aro and whoever that Mr. Smith guy was probably value their privacy. So when we retell the story, it would be best to leave out their names." Rebecca nodded along, and I was glad she understood the need for discretion.
"Some of that stuff they were talking about sounded like it was lifted right out of a James Bond movie. What do you think they were discussing? It sounded to me like they were planning to drill to the center of the Earth and find some mythical treasure," Rebecca mused aloud as we got into the elevator.
"I couldn't make heads or tails of that one either. I think it's just a more advanced version of 'boys and their toys.' The bigger the bank account, the bigger their sandbox. It doesn't sound like whatever they were talking about is going to happen any time soon, if at all. It's fun to think about, I guess, but let's stick to reality. Tell me, who did you enjoy dancing with the most? You'll have to show me pictures of all the famous people you saw and danced with because I didn't pay that much attention to stuff like that," I remarked, glancing at Rebecca, who was clearly reminiscing about the night.
"Santiago was a pretty good dancer. What's his story?" Rebecca inquired, showing a clear interest in the Spanish vampire. We opened the door to our apartment and stepped inside.
"He's alright, but, in my opinion, he's a bit of a flirt. When I first met him, he hit on me right in front of Demetri before he knew we were together. It almost caused a fight." I laughed, and Rebecca chuckled along.
"You and Chelsea seemed pretty chummy on the dance floor. We've never danced like that together," she remarked, a sly undertone in her voice, as she studied my face closely, trying to determine if there was something more going on between Chelsea and me.
I grinned and winked at her. "Just friends, sorry. And I respect you too much to dance like that with you." I thought for a moment, and couldn't help but slyly add, "But if you want to give it a try sometime, I'm sure we would turn heads and grab the attention of all the guys around us. It might get their juices flowing, and you could pounce and try out some of Chelsea's moves she gave us." I yawned, finally coming down from the night's excitement. "It's getting late. Let's turn in, and we can compare notes on everything we saw tomorrow."
"Sure thing, Bella. Thanks for the memorable night," Rebecca said as she went to her dresser to grab her pajamas. As she headed to the bathroom, she turned around, smiling. "I know I'm going to fall asleep thinking about all the things that could have cost $30 million dollars. Dammit, this is going to drive me crazy, I just know it will. What was in that box, Bella?"
She turned around, mumbling to herself, "What's in the box?" as she closed the bathroom door.
Let me know your thoughts.
