The day of the entrance exam had arrived and stared up at the building in awe. She knew she needed to find someone to talk to about the mix up, but she wanted to keep looking at the magnificent building. Bakugo stopped next to her and looked at the building too. They hadn't spoken all summer since she had yelled at him, but it didn't matter that much since they hadn't really spoken in a while anyway.
"You really going to drop out?" asked Bakugo.
"First chance I get, General studies" said Izumi.
"What do you want to do?" asked Bakugo.
"We aren't friends, and you don't like me so don't bother asking questions you don't actually care about" stated Izumi.
Bakugo didn't say another and walked inside. Once Izumi was done staring at the building she headed inside and went to the secretary's desk to show them the paper.
"Down the hall and to the left" said the secretary.
"Actually, there's a been a misunderstanding, I only applied for general studies" said Izumi.
"Sometimes there's a computer error, all you need to do is fail the physical test, you'll end up back in general studies" said the secretary.
"Thank you" said Izumi.
Izumi followed the instructions and took a seat next to a girl with pink skin, gold eyes and little horns. Izumi wondered what her quirk was but didn't want to ask since the girl was in conversation. Pro hero Present Mic entered the room a few minutes later with instructions to pass the test papers down. Izumi was trembling with excitement as she wanted to document all the quirks she could see but feared pulling out her notebook and being accused of cheating as that would get her kicked out completely.
After 40 minutes Present Mic announced he would be collecting the tests and to pass them down. After he collected them, he went back to the podium and began talking about the physical portion of the test. Izumi sketched people and wrote down their quirks.
"Wow you are really good at that!" said the pink skinned girl.
Izumi was startled and looked up.
"Not really, I'm not actually trying right now, these are rough sketches that I will fix later," said Izumi.
"They are still really good, by the way my quirk is acid, I can secrete and control it" said the girl.
"Cool thank you" said Izumi.
"By the way I'm "Interrupting the teacher, you should be paying attention, so quit talking!" demanded a blue haired teen.
Both Izumi and Mina were caught off guard.
"Rude, we weren't loud enough for him to hear us but you are standing up and screaming isn't winning you any friends" declared the pink skinned girl.
The blue haired teen went silent for a few minutes before bowing to all the attendees and Present Mic. Present Mic went back to talking.
"I'm Mina Ashido" said the pink skinned girl.
"I'm Izumi Midoriya, my quirk is quirk energy vampire" said Izumi.
Izumi was waiting for the negative response when she saw Mina make an exaggerated surprised face.
"You don't bite people, do you?" asked Mina.
"No" laughed Izumi.
"Good because I like you and don't want to sleep with garlic, it's really smelly" said Mina.
Both girls giggled before checking their placement cards as everyone was getting up and heading to 3 marked doors. Izumi ended up standing next to the blue haired teen.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier" he said as he attempted to bow to her.
Izumi stopped him before he could go to low and he looked at her confused.
"I should apologize to you, I applied for general studies and only got placed in here because of a computer error, so I'm not taking this as seriously as you" said Izumi.
"You don't want to be a hero" asked the blue haired teen surprised.
"Nope" said Izumi.
The blue haired teen was speechless, it didn't make any sense to him that someone didn't want to be a hero. Before he could question her, the doors opened, and everyone rushed out
Izumi took her time as it didn't matter to her, though she did notice some of the robots being more aggressive than she thought they would, she noticed one knock a participant to the ground then raise its to smash them again only the blue haired teen was quick to grab them as he had super speed and Izumi could see his legs. The robot turned around then launched itself at them, but Izumi turned to smoke and grabbed the other two then flew inside a building. The robot not seeing them then headed in a different direction, Izumi turned them solid.
"Wow no wonder the have people sign a NDA" remarked Izumi.
"They are trying to kill us, they aren't meant to do that, incapacitate sure but not kill" said the blue haired teen.
The blue haired teen set the injured participant as Izumi walked over and placed a hand over them, the cuts and bruises disappearing.
"Oh now I see, your quirk is healing and you want to be a doctor" stated the teen.
Izumi shook her head confusing the teen.
"It's just something I figured out how to do with my quirk, my name is Izumi by the way" said Izumi.
"Tenya Iida" said the blue haired Teen.
"Ow, everything still hurts" mumbled the teen on the ground.
"That tends to happen when a robot wants your lunch money" said Izumi.
"I'm going to check on the others, they might need help as well" said Tenya.
Before Izumi could respond Iida was gone. She helped the other guy up and moved him to a more comfortable spot. It was then she heard machines and looked out to see Iida carrying a person while a few more followed behind. Robots were gaining on them until purple balls flew at the bots sticking them in place. Izumi cleared the door as Iida rushed in and sat a person down who was bleed profusely.
"Please don't let me die, I just want to eat cheese and sparkle" moaned the teen.
Izumi removed her gloves then grabbed Iida's arm and placed another hand on the injured teens face. The group watched as their limbs reset and gashes closed. Izumi let go of them.
"Thank you" said the teen.
"Sorry Iida I needed the extra energy your quirk produced" said Izumi.
Izumi was expecting him to scream in rage at her.
"No worries, I'll be back soon" said Iida rushing off.
Izumi was surprised but relived. She turned to look at the other and saw one of them seemed to have something wrong with their leg.
"Would you like me to heal you?" asked Izumi.
"No save your energy, I can wait, there might be others who need you more than I do" said the teen.
"Actually I feed off ambient quirk energy and I can use that to heal other" said Izumi.
All the teen stared at her then looked at each other.
"That's pretty cool actually, ok..uh do I need to bite something?" asked the teen.
"No just hold your leg steady" said Izumi.
Izumi placed her hand over the leg without touching and focused fixing the bones. A minute later Iida came back in with another person, but Izumi could already the absence.
"I'm sorry but I can't help them" said Izumi.
Iida was confused but quickly realized what she meant. Iida gently set the body down in the far corner then without a word left again. A robot soon came into view but was quickly punched out the wall by a large bulky teen followed by a red haired teen pulling a blond who was giving them a thumbs up.
"Anyone got any sugar, I'm out" said the teen.
Someone tossed him a granola bar. He opened the wrapper as explosions went off rocking the building.
"The Zero pointers are on the loose, try and stay out there way and good luck" said a voice on the intercom.
"I make boom boom" laughed the blond kid.
Everyone stared at him confused.
"He saved a bunch of us from robots but his quirk also messed with his head" said the red head.
"I don't think I can heal that" said Izumi.
"Healing is very manly" said the red head.
"Thanks I think" said Izumi.
A smaller explosion closer to them could be heard followed by a scream of pain. Izumi and the red head came out of the building to see a girl with brown hair lift a robot off Iida. Izumi ran towards them as Shinso picked Iida up but they could all see how badly injured he was. There was another person there who kept apologizing. Izumi paled when she felt Iida's quirk begin to fade.
"Izumi" said Shinsho.
Izumi looked at him then noticed his offered hand. She grabbed it and fought her way past the wall and into the endless ocean where she tried to pull the energy to heal Iida. The quirk tried to fight her but she refused to let go until it gave in and Iida began to heal. Idia scream in pain for a minute then stopped and looked at her.
"You would make a great rescue hero" said Iida before passing out.
Later
Izumi was exhausted. She had never healed this many people before, but Recovery Girl had asked for her help once the school had managed to shut off the robots. Most of the injured came from the other arena's as they didn't have healers. Stronger participants managed to stall the bots by forming blockades with the destroyed robots. There were also a lot of dead applicants they couldn't help.
"You did good sweetie, I heard you applied for general studies, but I would like it if you came to see me after classes for extra training" said Recovery Girl.
"Thank you, I'm not that great at healing and I kept forgetting to reset the bones" said Izumi.
"Honestly having you here was definitely helpful, if I tried to heal some of those wounds, I could have possibly killed them, go on home, get some rest" said Recovery Girl.
"Thank you" said Izumi.
As Izumi left the room, Nezu entered and smiled at her.
"How many?" asked Recovery Girl.
"126 dead, however it wasn't just us, other school are reporting malfunctions and deaths as well" said Nezu.
"But every school has a different system, how is this possible?" asked Recovery Girl.
"There are two options, 1. since All Might is going to teach here, we were deliberately attacked, and the other school were simply a cover, or it has nothing to do with All Might and is a declaration of war against all hero's" said Nezu.
"What are you hoping it is?" asked Recovery Girl.
"The first one, that one gives us an idea of what to expect" said Nezu.
"Good thing there was a computer error or that number would be higher" said Recovery Girl.
Izumi exited the school to see some people waiting. She knew Nezu asked people to stay in her range so she could heal the others, but they were done so she was surprised to see them. She was about to turn to smoke since it was dark out when she heard her name being called and looked back to see Iida, Shinsho, the brown-haired girl and the red head buy from earlier jogging towards her.
"Izumi I never got to thank you for saving my life, I know you did not want to be here, but I am grateful you participated anyway" said Iida.
"It's ok, you don't need to thank me" said Izumi.
"Yes I do, I would be dead right now if you hadn't stayed" said Iida.
To Izumi's surprise each of the teens offered her a hand. Shinso smiled and responded.
"You've been healing a lot of people, you quirk sustains you be feeding off the same energy you use to heal, you must be starving" said Shinsho.
"I can feed indirectly, thank you for staying behind, your quirks provided me a lot of energy to heal with" said Izumi.
"Can't you use the energy from the person you are trying to heal?" asked the red head.
"I have never tried; I'm worried I would kill them if I did" said Izumi.
"That makes sense, hey I'm Eijiro Kirishima by the way" said the red head.
"Ochako Uraraka" said the brown haired girl.
"Izumi Midoriya, nice to meet you" said Izumi.
